This is a complaint against the deficient services of Reliance fresh, Gajuwaka Branch, Visakhapatnam 530026.

I am Ch J Satyananda Kumar, residing at Flat No. MIG-II-16, Vikas Nagar, BC Road, Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam 530026. Card No.[protected], Mobile No.[protected].

Complaint details:

1. Despite AP Govt's ban polythene bags, the store is still using polythene bags. On 2-4-2011 when I took my own bag to the store, the Security did not allow me to take the bag in. He reluctantly allowed only when I insisted my right to take the bag in. I had made a complaint to the effect on 2-4-2011, but when I saw the complaint book today, not only my complaint dated 2-4-2011, but about 25 complaints written prior to it was also not viewed by the Store Manager and no action was found to have been taken on complaints. It appears that keeping a complaint book is only to fool the consumers. But Reliance fresh is not serious about acting on complaints.

2. Today i.e. on[protected] I went to the store to purchase certain commodities. I looked for Brittania High fibre nutri digestive biscuits in Biscuits rack. But those were not found there. On my previous 2 visits during the past 5 days also I could not find them in biscuits racks. While looking for other goods, I suddenly found them in an not so conspicuous place along with Nibuz soft drinks and some noodles. When I asked the supervisor as to why the High fibre biscuits are not placed along with other biscuits in the respective rack, he replied me that those are placed on an offer along with other offer goods. My request to relocate them to the biscuits rack was not heeded. When I asked for the complaints book, he readily gave me the same. But I found that even my former complaint dated 2-4-2011 was not looked into.

3. I took a Healthy heart sunflower oil 1 liter pouch being displayed @Rs.62-50. But when I took it to the billing counter, the counter assistant told me that it can be given on that price only when I take 2 packets. When I took them to the counter and shown them the price tag, he had reluctantly billed one pouch @Rs.62.50.

4. The price tags are often being found not properly placed above the racks of commodities.

5. The merchandise display procedure is also very faulty. When any items are offered on special offer, such goods should be prominently displaced close to entrance in a conspicuous place. But, the Brittania High fibre biscuits are found displaced in an unprominent place. The commodities are also frequently changed places to the inconvenience of consumers and the staff are often found not responding to consumers complaints and suggestions.

6. Though its name is Reliance Fresh, fresh fruits and vegatables are seldom found here on display. Vegetables and fruits once kept in shelves, those will be there though those lose their freshness and start drying-up.

7. I looked for the Stores Manager on 3 or 4 occasions twice in evenings between 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM and the rest of the times during day time. But not even once I could find him in the stores. The supervisor is lacking in customer dealing skills. He is not much educated and can't answer to the queries of non-Telugu speaking consumers.

8. There are 4 cash counters with computerised net work systems. But often only one or two counters are being operated there by making consumers to wait for around 10 minutes for their turn to get billing. Some time proper change is also not being given to consumers and some times a toffee is being given to consumers instead of 50 paise coin.

9. When Mr Raghu used to be the stores manager, he was fairly responding to consumer complaints. But the present manager is not at all serious to look into consumers view points. In fact, there is no proper consumer handling procedure in Reliance fresh. To my horror I also found that no provision was made even in Reliance Fresh website, for online handling of complaints by the head office.

10. The staff are often found not properly responding to consumers. It appears they are not being properly trained how to treat customers with courtesy and politeness.

11. The security staff are often not found in their place. They behave arrongantly presuming themselves as some policemen or dadas, but they seldom realize that they are there to serve the customers.

If the Reliance Fresh management does not pay proper attention to look into the above prominently observed issues/complaints, days are not far away that it may lag behind in retail business and may have to follow the way of Subhiksha and other companies who have closed business.

I agree to Mr.John's Comments, Its a shame that Reliance fresh doesn't even bother to care for customers compliants. Relinace is a Big name in retail these days but if this arrogance and uncaring attitude continues then reliance may have to soon dry out like the so called fresh vegetables in their stores.

Relince fresh customer care folks its high time you wake up and look in to such issues.

    I just want to say that if RELANCE open a retail store or anything then they should be aware about that what kind of service they r giving to the customer & what they r selling in that store, on Monday 4th of April, 2011, I went to Reliance Fresh store in Gwalior to buy some fruit bcoz in Mumbai these stores r doing good job, so I thought the same things or service I will get here also. I went to the fruit stall, I saw some pears they were all over the place & also rotten & looking very odious, there r black patches on I think every pear same thing was with the banana & other fruits & vegetables. The vegetables & fruits corner was horrible there I didn’t buy anything & ask about the untidiness & rotten fruits of the store to the guy sitting on cash counter of he just deny everything I saw him the rotten fruits then he said not all of them are rotten u just choose good one i ask him to send some one & pick some neat & fresh pear for me for that he said u hav to do it urself becoz there r not even a single fruit which u can buy from reliance fresh, I can get good & fresh fruits from outside thhelawallas and I went outside & buy some good fruits & vegetables from outside thhelawalas. These things shouldnt happen if we r going to such places but they dont even bother about customer service, even the outside thhelawalas talk to u in manners but these dont even know what manners is.

    we are a regular costumer at reliance stores at belgaum. we find the vegetable and fruits are stored for some extra time until the fresh stocks arrive more then 3 days. but at metro cities after 8 they sell at cheaper rates to vacate for fresh stocks, we do not find this system in here at reliance fresh belgaum stores.also there are much of stock in slow moving or dead stock items. please make way for fast moving items and good items.
    request the management to look in this matter.

      Dear sir,

      we and my family were gone to shopping in Reliance Fresh . There what happened i can't forget what happened . There happened that after shopping we were going to billing there staff were disrespecting our members . Happened that we purchase the 'Parachute hot oil' when we billing just then an offer came on 75% off on each product. So my mother gone purchase some more oil bottles there were not a penny before some minutes we saw 100's of bottles and then we were billing staff were telling that with offer i will give only three bottles out of 5. This disheartened our heart and then onwards we were not going to that reliance fresh from some people we find out that if any profitable scheme comes to reliance fresh staff members among distributes the product or with other shopkepper contract of the product. This happened with us in Reliance Fresh, nagpur, narendra nagar. We request that to take needful action.

      same here in Tamil Nadu at Madurai as well.

      All products that comes with a discount or special offer the Reliance fresh staffs give it to their own community peoples.
      It was just yesterday we saw one of the staff billing onions for Rs 18 per kg and we went forward and asked that i'll buy 15kg of onions for the same price you billed for previous customer, and the staff first said he just took last stock of that item, when we went back to check out the vegetable section there was plenty of it.
      When we told the staff that there were plenty of it, he remained silent and didn't reply.

      We asked him openly "do you only bill offers only for your community peoples"?
      And he willing shook head arrogantly!

      Other than his own community people he give offers to the people who give commission money for certain keeps such as movie theatre, chat shop, clubs etc.

      Their response to the customers very badly and never take regular customer like us into consideration.
      When we report to the manager he just says "if you like it buy or just leave!"
      Since then my family hesitated to go there, instead we shop at central market!

        The security guard of Reliance fresh,Kapurthala Chowk seems to be a person full of misbehavior.Today i,e.
        6-April-2011(Wednesday) evening he was sitting on the gate as if he is the manger of the outlet.Not even bothering to open door, and staring at my wife in undefined sense.His etiquette of how to behave with female is par below standard. Please either ask Reliance retail administrators either to throw him out or close the branch.

          I,m a daily custmer of RELIANCE FRESH near lews road. I have faced twice miss treated from their staffs . In same condition . I had gone today for pumpkin but a staff said it can't be sold below 400GM , where as i had purchased 200GM before that day . As RELIANCE FRESH is a retail shop then we can buy on our requirement .             On 05 April 11, I had purchsed some grocery items from Reliance Fresh Store at Urban Estate Patiala-2. I found some food stuffs kept at a seperate counter with a bill board saying at 50% discount to MRP. I PULLED OUT TWO PACKETS OF bhujia (namkeen) wEIGHING 480 grams with original price tag o Rs 53/- with expiry date printed on the packet as 29 April 11, but the dealing asisstant at the billing counter billed this item at the rate of Rs 53/- each instead of billing it at a discounted price of Rs 26.5. When I objected, he stated that it is at a discount of 30% of the MRP, when again objected he stated it is at full price of Rs 53/- per packet. When wanted to contact the incharge of the store, he was not available. On persistant querries they intimated that Mr Deepak is the store Incharge and he is not available in the store at that time. Non from the staff available in the store was able to tell me why this Bhujia Packets have been kept in the counter of dicounted outlet, if it was not to be issued to the normal customers in a usual way of routine sale.

            When I asked for the complaint book, they were relucatant to give me and on my persistant, they gave me the book, and I have to record my complaint in the book. and I am waiting for the reply from the reliance fresh store H.Q.

            We are of the view that discounted items of merchandise are just a show buisness of the company and are not meant for the gereral consumer and are being taken away by teir own staff members and some of the selected customers, who are in the good books fo the staff members at that oarticular store.

            I hope , the management of the Reliance Fresh Store will look into this type of mal functioning at their stores, will take some strict action against such type of bad elements deployed by them at the customer care points of the stores and their dealings with the customers will be taking in their mind that CUSTOMER IS KING, if reliance is really interested to attract more and more customers to their retail out lets of all kinds.

            Hoping to hear soon fron the H.Q. of Reliance managments on the above subject.

              Today on 4/4/2011 I have bought some of my household things. Such as Salt, Soap, Toothpaste etc. from Reliance Fresh Limited, 1-12, The Grand Mall, SM Road, Nr. Snehkunj Bus Stand, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad - 380 015. with retail invoice/Cash Memo No. C2001 # 0251 on 20:28:28.

              As mentioned above where i bought one thing that is Good Knight Adavaced (Anti Mosquito System) of Godrej Households Products Ltd. - Activ+System, this box contain 1 No. of Activ+Machine & 1 No. of Activ+Cartridge. Out of that when i come back to my home and open the same box & i am surprised that i have found only Machine not cartridge. Again i have to go back to Store tell him about this thing. Person accepting the mistake but told that this fault was occur due to supplier side not from store.

              Very strange thing as we enter in the store there is camera to watch on us, security is checking ladies purse or other good if carrying.

              Now next time as and when if we are buying from above Reliance Fresh Store than we have to check or open the box, confirm the things are there or not before living the place!

              Very poor service we have faced, not only we but many other some consumer complaint about the MRP is mentioned is different and they are charging higher than that!

              Reliance Fresh Ltd. — Misguided

              I have purchase Reliance select LEAF TEA from M/s Sahakari Bhander, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094 Dt. 28/12/2011. Anywhere is not mentioning that the product is CTC tea. As well as I purchased this product as a leaf tea. Hence the Reliance Company promises (written of packet) 100% lie.

                Hi,

                I am Sambit Singh & I was a regular customer in Reliance Fresh, Unit-4. My card number is [protected]. I always used to shop there with my wife from last 2years. (If anyone from RIL is reading this, you can take the reference from the card number as 80% time we use the card).

                Today my wife was shopping & when she was leaving through EXIT gate. One of your staff Mr. Manoj Nayak(He told his name was Manoj) stopped her started misbehaving with her. He alleged her that she has stolen a chocolate & kept it in her bag. He then checked her bag & found nothing. Even after that Manoj did not, even apologized to her. When she demanded to talk to the Manager, the Manager was not in the store.
                Even if we are regular customers in the same store we faced such an embracing situation & bad behavior at Reliance Fresh. When I tried to inform Reliance Fresh about this incident directly, then I could not find any space/leg in their website which takes the customer feedback/complain.

                May be as a company they are not customer centric!

                I want to know whether I can take any legal action against them or not for such kind of insult as I do not have any proof of this incident.

                  I am a regular customer of this store but i have never seen such a bad service in my life. The staff out there is highly uneducated and do not know how to treat customers. Recently, during one of my purchases, i was charged twice for the same product and i realized it when i scanned the bill after reaching home. I went back to take the refund of the mistake made by the billing staff. I feel i was lucky to check the bill which i usually don't do. By seeing such type of procedures, i feel like how many customers must have been cheated like this before (including me).

                    Shopping for vegetables at Reliance Fresh outlet near Bhatia Hospital at Tardeo in Mumbai then read this complaint. On 1st April, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., a lady staff member who was handling the vegetable packets to determine the price put two to three packets of the vegetables at a time on the electronic weighing scale and thus inflated weight of the vegetables and put inflated prices on the vegetable packets. To distract my attention when caught she began calling out to a staff member wanting to know the code of the vegetable. Several times I told her to load only one packet at a time on the electronic scale but she would not listen to me. The result was I ended up paying more for the french beans and carrots and ginger with inflated weights put up on the stickers. The poor customers who get attracted by the low price offers at Reliance Fresh Stores in media should buy vegetables at Grant Road Vegetable Market near by otherwise they may be cheated by the dishonest staff of the Reliance Fresh Store and end up paying more for less quantity.

                      I am a regular at Reliance Fresh.And everytime i go there i have an issue with the people as they have Hired INCOMPETENT,SENSELESS & ARROGANT PEOPLE to work there.I am talikng about the Reliance Fresh that is in B.T.Kawade Road ,Ghorpadi Gaon,Pune,Opp the Kawade Petrol Pump.
                      The Boy at the Checkout counter was very very arrogant.And so when i asked to speak to a Manager,the Manager was even worse that the boy at the counter.It seems that the Manager was picked up from some Roadside area and asked to work there.He should be thrown out his job.When i asked for his Name,He refused to give it to me.Please you should something about the same and either fire these people and get EDUCATED PEOPLE to work here or EDUCATE these people on CUSTOMER SERVICE.Because Reliance Fresh is a Brand and these are the people who are SPOILING it Through & through.

                      Dear Reliance Fresh T.Nagar Chennai,
                      I am a regular customer of yours Reliance Fresh. You call it as RELIANCE FRESH and most off the time the veggies and Fruits are spoiled and instead of clearing the rotten ones your staff will be engaged in their busy talks whenever and whatever time we go, and commenting on customers very badly. They never care for the CUSTOMER AT ALL. Most of the time there will be no proper Price Tags, and if we ask the employees they never bother to answer. Your staff is so so... rude and arrogant, If we ask anything they will give a threatening stare and will reply in a such way that is "I[censored] LIKE BUY OR ELSE VACATE THE PLACE" . The way they utter the words we can clearly make it out that they are illiterates from slums.

                      While billing they make us wait and discuss about their family and personal matters which really irritates us but we are helpless. If we ask them anything then they say we know to do your work VAAYA POTTITTU PO. And also about the offers they never tell us and if something is free for any item then they will hide the ones and later on they will just say sorry. Two Years ago they were selling free CURRY LEAVES for Rs. 5. Its fine in foreign countries but not in South India selling curry leaves. we spend thousand of rupees and they refuse to give the Curry leaves. Are we looking like an to them.

                      Even NON VEG most of the times they sell the rotten ones. They hardly clean the place which really stinks. the guys along with the Security Guard sit and do chatting. They never clean the floor properly. If we ask, the pat reply comes that's why we are selling for cheaper price. what else you want. That's how is the BEHAVIOUR OF YOUR RELIANCE T.NAGAR STAFF IN CHENNAI.
                      COULD YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE...?????

                        This has been encountered a lot of time. At Reliance Fresh, Viman Nagar, Pune when you buy a product on which other product is being given free, the free items are never in stock. And when asked about it, the employees say that they have no clue. More to this when asked for the manager, answer received is that there is no manager for the store. I wonder if the employees are selling these Items received to be given free.

                          My name is Dinesh Mittal, working in Punjab National Bank. I am regular visitor of above store. I was informed that your above store timing are up to 9.30 PM. This is also displayed on the entrance gate. Today at 9.05 PM we all members of my family visited your above store but we found that your guard has locked the entrance gate and a message was displayed "Sorry we are closed". We have knocked the door and guard informed that store is closed when I asked what is the time he moved inside without giving any answer.
                          After few minutes, one of your salesman coming inside he informed me that at 9.30 PM systems are closed from the main office as such we close entry at 9.00 clock.
                          Sir, now i request you to please either guide your staff to work as per timing displayed at the entrance your arrange to correct the notice viz. entry time up to 9.00 PM anf store closing time at 9.30 PM.
                          I think no body is having ample time to waste in the present scenerio.
                          Hope your suitable step to correct the notice. It's pertinent to add here that after taking snaps from my mobile i visited easy day (Your adjacent store) and purchased required items.

                          Reliance Fresh — UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICE

                          I am a regular customer of reliance fresh, with card no. [protected]. I regularly shop at their outlets at Calicut in Kerala. I find it unfair that Reliance fresh weighs (to the grams) the cheap and over sized paper covers made out o[censored]sed newspapers along with the item contained in it and charges it at the same cost of the item. For example, if I bought a couple of lemon wrapped in a paper cover, I am forced to pay for the paper cover also @ Rs. 99.99 (today's rate)! Think about the enormous money the company / franchisee are making, considering the quantity of such paper covers used by them. Recently they have start charging the customers for the carry bags also. I consider it to be an unfair trade practice and needs to be stopped.

                            I had made a purchase of grocerries with Reliance Fresh store in Ayyappa Temple road, SM Road, Jalahalli Cross, Bangalore on 22nd March 2011 for an amount of Rs.267.50 (Inv. No.002616). I had used my ICICI bank debit card to make payment for which i got a message after a minute from ICICI bank about debiting the amount of Rs.267.50 to my account. After half hour I received a message from ICICI bank again that Rs.429.50 has been debited to my account from the same store (Reliance Fresh). But I was at home 20min before the message came & I was shocked to see the amount deducted from my account. Though the card was with me and I had not done any purchase with the vendor, amount had got debited to my account using my debit card no. I spoke to ICICI bank regarding this & I got a reply saying that its not their fault & they informed me to check with Reliance people & told there can be a problem with the swiping machine in the shop. After which I went to Reliance & told them about this, they disagreed and are refusing to pay me back the amount that is wrongly debited to me. They have the bill for the amount Rs.429.50 which is being paid by someone else (signed by another customer) but the amount has been deducted from my debit card. They are not even having the courtesy to reply back to us & inform the status, in turn we are going & visiting them everyday.

                            Request you to kindly take serious action on this so that it doesnt happen with the other customers. Thank you!

                              SUB : Non cooprative attitude of thetReliance Fresh Staff

                              I purchased goods worth Rs.924/- from your Rohtak outlet at Shanai Banquet Hall on 5th March 2011 vide cash memo-retail invoice no C1014 #0002 at time about 7pm (18:58:26 as printed on the cash memo).

                              I regret saying that it was unfortunate on my part that I was not having any carry bag at that moment.When I asked the reliance fresh staff for help me I had to face the wrath of the reliance fresh staff posted there at that time.They were not able to provide me any carry bag even against payment. When i asked the counter person to provide me any waste packing carton ,he gave me a plain refusal and refused to listen to my problem any further.The watchman posted there refused to permit me to carry the basket outside the reliance fresh door despite seeing that my car is parked quite visibly from the interior of exit door.He even refused to I dentify himself. Again when I went the bill counter to return my good with a request that they may deduct service charges for returning goods.He too refused on the ground " Sorry Sir, I have no time for this at present.You may come at some other time."

                              Finding no other alternative in this helpless situation I had no option but to take each item one by one to my car. To my astonishment the watchman posted there kept on seeing this all with a smile of victory on his face.

                              I admit that there was my fault that I was not having carry bag. But undersuch circumstances if your staff has to behave in such a uncooprative and uncivilised manner(smiling by watchman) then it speaks volumes about the services the reliance frash can render to the society.With such attitude it would be better to close down your Shahnai banquet hall,Rohtak Service unit.At least I wont visit reliance again and recommend the same for my dear friends.

                              Costumer always have to wait on billing counter, we know that u had provide 3-4 billing counter but at this branch only one counter working, for that we are wasting our time on billing counter. we are paying our most of time on billing counter rest to buy the product.

                                I am a regular customer of reliance fresh.today(3-3-11),at 22:09 hours,i bought 3 ltrs milk.your staff gave concession on the rates of milk to other customers who bought milk before and after me.when i asked them for concesssion for milk,they refused saying that there is no concession on milk....but i am v sure they are giving concession to them and selling milk in bulk(25 to 30 ltrs) for selling in there shops..i kindly request you to look into the matter and figure out what is going on between your staff and other buyers.some people like your staff of nerul branch are spoiling the image of whole company for filling there pockets.....hope you will look into the matter.i have attached my bill for reference.please check the transactions of tthe end of the day and the picture will be clear to you also.

                                  Reliance fresh is on first floor and my office is on ground floor, one of the 19 a/cs is open from back side and it is making too much noise. It is very difficult for me and all other shopkeepers to sit in such a place. even I can't talk with my clients clearly.

                                  I have compliant for this to the operation manager of the said Reliance fresh, but since last 15 days they are just promising.

                                  please look into the matter and help us to live peacefully.

                                  i am one of the costumer of relience fresh situated in hoshangabad road.many times thats happened that some of the packed dairy material are not fit to consume but it has been sold very easily.on 18 -apr-2011 i bought a PANEER TOFU but when i opened it ...it is compleately spoiled and full of smell...thats things only spoiled the image of relience group so please take action as soon...the dairy products of this branch are not ok...

                                    DEAR SIR,
                                    I AM a regular customer of reliance fresh. As there were points worth Rs. 225 in my membership card I wanted to redeem it and consulted the store manager and got a voucher worth Rs.225 in the month of January. When I rendered it at the counter against purchase of rice bag , the system indicated that the voucher has already redeemed. How could this happen when I produced the voucher within ten minitues after getting it from the counter of the same shop. The shop manager told that he would resolve it the next day but nothing could be done by him even though he knew that it was redeemed since first time itself the system showed "already redeemed". The manager complained regarding this on17 jan 2011 and 21 jan2011,after calling customer care over phone, but till date nither I got my points to my card nor do I could redeem the voucher.
                                    kindly look into the matter and resolve well before expiry date.

                                      We are regular customer of Reliance outlets and purchase our daily need things from these outlets. we also have a membership card in the name of my wife Kavita pant. Today I visited Reliance Fresh Outlet at Bhajan pura Delhi Branch and purchase my monthly grocessary items, before finalising my bill I ask them to redeem my points, but the representative (after asking he told me that he is Supervisior) named Imran ask me to provide the ID proof of card holder. I am surpursing when he ask me to provide ID proof, because I myself and with my wife every time visited this outlet (bhajan pura Branch) and each and every sales person knows us. I told this person named Imran to take my ID and redeem the points but he denied and says it impossible. This is not the one incident last month also when we both visited the Bhajan Pura outlet and want to redeem our point than they says we redeem your points but not give credit to you in that month bill.

                                      Today after that incident I told that guy Imran to call your Manager I want to talk to him he says when I am there you talk to me and without ID proof I can"t redeem the points. When I ask him to provide me the policy or terms & conditions of point redemption he says I have no such thing available.

                                      We are very sorry to say that if I have purchased any thing from Reliance outlet and use my card than nobody bother to check the Identity Proof and swap the card, if this is mandatory at the time of point redemption than why not at the time of purchase also.

                                      I am very surprise this type of attitude and decided to never visited any outlet of Reliance Fresh for any type of purchase, because whatever type of schemes they shows and offered us such membership card is totally useless to customer.

                                        My name is Alok Singh Rathore ,I am a regular customer of Reliance Fresh Store and every month I purchase Huggies from the store now the last month I bought it for INR 285 now this month it was for 299 and on top of it was a discount of Rs31 now the store manager says its just a promotional scheme and is not true secont he denied for the refund and when i asked his id and other details he says to go to consumer court and we will talk there i dialed the no# for Hindustan Uni Ltd they say that they will get back to me on the scheme

                                        Now this is certainly a matter of harrasment as the details should have been provided by him as asked by the consumer
                                        now this is a loss of a consumer and also a case of pathetic customer service also to bring something in notice all the price tags are false i comparison to the actual price of the product reflecting on the bill
