Dear Sir,

With all humility, I would like to bring it to your kind notice that I had been mentally harassed and threatened by Mr. R.K. Bagga (Phone No - [protected]), Advocate, head legal cell, Standard Chartered India. Around 11.0 A.M. on[protected] I got a call from Mr Bagga that Legal case is filled by them to me

I had a payment due of Rs.12000 in 1998, along with that i also had a smart card of Same bank for which i have paid Rs. 45 thousand as full settlement in 2002, and also paid Rs. 2000 to same agent for my credit card as full settlement that time i was just college pass out and didnot bother about to collect settlement letter from the bank. however thereafter there was no communication received from the bank in last 10 years.
now suddenly after 10 years i received this call that there is a legal case filled by Mr. Bagga, and told me to pay Rs. 55 thousand on the same day, however after arguing he told me to pay Rs. 41 thousand immediately as full settlement.
i want to clear one thing here that i am leaving in the same address from last 20 years, and not changed my address also. but never received any statements or any communication from the bank. i was in the impression that my accounts has been settled.
Mr. Bagga is mentioning some different address for my credit card, which shows that the agent to who i have surrendered the card has done misuse of the same and change the address also with the help of bank officails.
i demand for the statement but they refuse to provide me the same.
i have full intention to pay the amount but it should be normal and of my expenditure only.
Please suggest me should i go for fraud case against bank for change in my address in there record and other misuse.

how they can come to me suddenly after 10 years, are they sleeping by this time, i have paid Rs. 45 thousand in 2002 for my smart card of stan char only. which clearly shows my intention are correct.

kindly advice me.

Standard chartered bank is a biggest fraud bank in Credit Cards department. I totally agree that you should approach the Law & put a de-famation case against the bank & also put criminal charges for intimidating.

    CREDIT CARD NO [protected] IN THE NAME OF MUKESH JAIN
    I want to draw you attention that I had made a purchase of air ticket for which I was supposed to make the payment to the bank I have issued a cheque no 282287 dt[protected] drawn on obc Shahdara for Rs. 23,200.00 and gave Rs. 100.00 as cash ( vide receipt no ND401C292231 and ND401C292230 respectively dt 12.08.2008)
    I was informed that the same cheque was misplaced by the bank and again in place of the above cheque of Rs. 23200.00 I issued a new cheque amounting to Rs. 22,000.00 vide ch no 282291 dt 26.09.2008 drawn on OBC Shahdara and gave Rs. 1200.00 as cash ( vide receipt no ND401C303148 and ND401C303147 both dated[protected] subject to assurance that no late fees and interest and reversal of late fees and interest previously imposed.

    after making the above payment i am regularly receiving call from the bank on daily basis and giving me threat to make the payment which i was not supposed to make and i was asked to settle the dues forcefully and at last to avoide the mental harrasment i had settled the amount to Rs. 3,000.00 ( Rs. Three thousand only) against the outstanding of Rs. 5934.00 vide the settlement letter from the bank letter no-NDL26619 dt. 27.03.2009 and accordingly I have made a payment of Rs. 3,000.00 in cash to your agent vide receipt no ND401C343115 on 31/03/2009.

    after making the payment of the settled amount of Rs. 3,000.00 i am again harresing by SCB bank to make the balance payment with new penalties and interest.

    The Standard Chartered bank is cheating and harrasing me and it is badly affecting my life

    I have written mail to the bank and bank replied as under:-

    bank.

    Further, we have received your payment for Rs. 3000.00 towards the
    settlement of dues in your card account and the same has been credited
    on 31/03/2009 to your card ending 2917.

    We have arranged to reverse the outstanding of Rs.4220.32 in your card
    ending 2917. Post reversal, there will be nil balance in your card
    account. We request you to ignore any further statements on this card
    account.

    Sir I am still receiving the threatening calls from bank mostly from ph no[protected] on regular basis and i have quoted the above waiver letter of the bank so many time but they are not ready to accept this and Now they have starting to degrade my reputation by calling my relatives and friends(Phone No[protected] which is not acceptable to me at any cost and i have been asked to deposit a sum of Rs 7000/-. by the bank

    Sir,
    I took a housing loan of Rs.496000/-(Rs.Four lakhs nine six thousand only) from Standard Chartered Bank for 20 years in July’2003 starting a floating rate @9.75% and paid EMI of Rs.4705/-. In 2005, I was applied for reducing the rate of interest when all bank was reduced the home loan rate. The bank was accepted my letter and reduced my terms period from 20 years to 16 years whereas EMI was same.
    In this connection, I would like to bring to your kind notice that after regular payment of 7 years out of 16 years the remaining period due to pay will be 9 years(i.e. completing period 2019.). But I am surprised when I asked to phone banking department regarding my closing period, they told me that my loan will be closed on 2025.

    Whenever they were increased home loan rate the bank never inform me, once I got information from phone banking this year that home loan rate has been increased so I immediately change my EMI from Rs.4705/- to Rs.5347/-, but before I know anything my loan period already increased 2019 to 2025 (6 years).
    When all bank reducing their rate recently then why they are not reducing the rates.. I would like to know is there any lap on maximum interest rate & what control R.B.I. has on this bank.
    Lastly, I clearly tell you that I am not in a position to pay loan till 2025.

      Dear Sir,

      With all humility, I would like to bring it to your kind notice that I had been mentally harassed and threatened by Mr. R.K. Around 11.0 A.M. today I got a call from Mr Bagga that already a case has been filed and I have to appear in the court on monday.

      I had a payment due of Rs.23,500 in 2004 which was missed because I had to leave Mumbai due to job change and was placed in a different company which was at a remote area in Orissa. No information or contact was there by the bank either. I had this credit card from 1995 till 2004 and not a single default was there at that time. This was one of the first lot of credit cards given when Standard Chartered bank was launched in Bangalore. I had renewed the card and used upto 2004. Suddenly today, I was told that within 1 hr. I have to make a payment of Rs. 1 lakh 10,000 Rupees as outside the court settlement, or else I have to appear in the court.

      I had taken aback as I did not had any idea about it. Suddenly after 5 years how can this situation be there.Why I was not told within these years. If today they are having my no. tracked down (told by the advocate as if I'm a terrorist) then why not 5 years back. The address was of my own flat in Navi Mumbai. If the bank person would have contacted my tenant he would have given this phone no. Why the bank waited for such a long time. The lawyer says that notice have been given and received also, but niether me nor my wife have received any notice or nor we are aware of this type of receipt. On the address mentioned by the lawyer, in his records, we stayed for 4 years in Surat and he says that the last notice was sent in June 2009 only when we have left that address in May 2009 and moved to the current address, which is in Surat only.

      I am working in a reputed company at a resposible post. If this case would have been brought to my notice at any moment, I would have cleared the things then and there. It is the responsibility of the Recovery/claims deptt. to get in touch for follow up as well and get the things settled. At the same time I had missed ICICI bank credit card payment, but after 2 years, the bank people contacted me after getting my Phone No from my tenant in Navi Mumbai and the issue was sorted out amicably as I didn't have any intension to not paying the amount. The way the case has been handled by Standard Chartered bank has put me on tenterhooks as being an old user of the services from 1995 without any problem, how suddenly without talking to me or informing me, a case has been filed having complaints of Forgery, Fraud, Absconding etc... as told by Mr. Bagga. It is not an issue of money, it is clear cut defamation for me.

      I tried to contact the customer care people but they are not giving me details of the principle amount, charges, interest etc. Only they have told is my 23,500/- expenditure has become 1,10,250/- which I have to pay within no time or else warrant will be issued against me.

      The break up for the same has been given as 20,000 has become 45,000/- (more than double) and 3500 has become 65000/-(more than 24 times). How is it possible?

      Puzzled by this, I have given a cheque to their Surat Branch. I'm ready to pay the genuine amount with normal interest charges.

      Pls. help. Should I hold the cheque payment and wait for the re-settlement? Once the payment is done, I'm afraid that it will not be recovered.

      Standard Chartered Bank — Charges against Card not Received

      Dear Sir,

      I am a doctor working in Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. In the month of Jan-Feb-2006, one of your representatives came to our hospital, offering SCB credit card, saying that there will be absolutely no charges for the credit card. Since the day I filled the form for the credit card, I never received any credit card till now, but one of your executive called me around one and a half year back, demanding money for the same. When I told him that I never got the credit card, he told me that they have issued a card to me and the Card Account Number is [protected]. I asked him to send detail of the above mentioned card but he never sent me any detail.
      A few days ago I went to bank to apply for a loan, there I got to know that I am in defaulter list. I want to know why I have been marked in this list, even though I did not receive the card. Also, it is highly unprofessional of your representative to offer lifetime free cards, without making the consumer aware of any hidden costs/fee.

      So, please look into this problem and kindly revert back any charges made against the card.

      Please also remove my name from the defaulter list. I shall be highly thankful to you.

      SCB card — Legal notice for card which I'm not the owner

      i have a huge complaint against standard chartered credit cards as i had done the settlement for the credit card and closed the card about a month back against my card no [protected]. But I don't know I have received a legal notice against card no[protected] which actually niether I'm holding nor I know the actual owner of the card. I had payed the complete amount aginst the cardno [protected] without even getting the statement on the very first cal I received from SCB. Why is such notice sent to me when actually I am not the owner of the card. If this continues without actually verifying the actual owner then mind you I will have to knock the doors of RBI and legal department. Please help me i am too tenced because of them, please give the highest contact of the standard chartered credit card dept so that i would be able to talk to them directly and sort out this issue.

      Im A.Deepa Priyadharshini working in Tata Consultancy Services. I applied for credit card with your bank.

      I ve provided proper documents and completed verifications properly too..

      Im waiting for 20 - 25 days and receiving a communication from you saying "Unable to provide your Credit Card"..

      Im not sure what does this mean.. I already possess 3 credit cards - ICICI, SBI and HDFC..

      I never asked for a card with your bank.. The customer care executive by name - Karthik ([protected], [protected]) compelled me to apply for the card.

      I was hesitant to apply because the previous time also the same happened with your executives... they got the documents.. I completed verifications..After that I heard nothing from them...

      But this guy and his team leader, name - Aruna([protected]) assured me that there will be no problem with card processing and I ll get the card for sure this time...

      Im wondering how you people are cheating customers with good bank profile like this saying false promises and false commitments..

      After questioning the customer care executives and getting assurance from them that I ll get the card definitely only, I accepted to apply for the card.

      Do you think Im sitting idle here to do all processing and to get a negative reply from your sides..

      Im greatly disappointed with the reply I ve received..

      No bank has cheated like this.. Bad treatment for customers from your bank...

      Your bank ppl are so easy in saying you ll get the documents back..

      Its so unfair and unjust to tell this as I ve invested my time in this besides my office work..

      I can contact only the bank people for my queries but now they ask me to contact the bank directly.. Is this the right words for your people to say??

      I need the card somehow ... Please do not tell any lame excuses...

      I need an immediate solution to my problem so that I get my card at any cost...

      Im ready to provide any required documents for card that you ask for

      I also need the email address of the credit cards division head person who can take a immediate action for my problem..

        I was using Standard Chartered Card since July2004 which was offerred life time free to me. NO issues were there till January2006. In february statement renewal fees was levied on my addon card(in my wifes' name) whcih was never used and/ or intended to be used.

        I made a complaint to call centre and paid them my part of the usage. In next bill I came to know, that they adjusted the renewal fee in my payment and started Due Payments on my card. Subsequently in next 4 bills the same happened. I was paying my usage part but they continued adding late payment charges and interest and tax components. The final statement received by me was on February 2007 showing due amount of Rs. 2787.09.

        Then after no information / statement etc. was received.

        Off alte on applying a home load, I cam eto know that my name is there in CIBIL and an outstanding of Rs. 11000+ amount is shown by SC Bank.

        I again called them up and showed them all the call details and responses received by their callc e ntre people, But till now have not been able to close the matter.

        PLEASE HELP.

          There have been two wrong reporting being done by SCB on two different Credit Cards.
          The first being on the card having number [protected]. On this card they did not send the bill in any form (I registered for email and SMS reporting of bill along with the mail bills) and the customer care also did not provide me with the bill details despite repeated calling. Finally on the last day of the payment due, they gave me bill details and I made the payment on the same day. However in the next month bill (which suprisingly arrived in all forms to me) they started levying charges. When I contacted the customer care, they said it will be waived off, but again this was carried to the next month bill and extra charges levied. This kept happening every month. Finally they said they will settle it if I pay certain amount (which ran into Rs. 3200) and the account will be closed. I made the payment but I still see this being reported every month into CIBIL and thus spoiling my Credit Score.

          The other one with Credit Card number [protected]. The last I used this credit card was in 2006 and I do not remember of any payment outstanding on this credit card. However, even this card is being reguarly reported into CIBIL. The card is supposed to expire in February 2008 but still in CIBIL it does not show up as closed.

          What is common in both cases are the following:
          1. They never show this account as closed.
          2. They keep the DPD pegged at 150 as that probably have the maximum impact on the credit score.
          3. They keep reporting the same incident every month.

          So once Standard Cahrtered has got hold of one customer, the same will keep getting in the CIBIL till the lifetime of CIBIL is what I guess. Someone really need to look into the wrong doings of this bank and take corrective meaures.

          Standard Chartered Bank — Credit Card bills showing incorrect amount.

          Dear Sir,

          I have a Standard Chartered Credit Card (####-####[protected]. Untill last to last year the card was being used frequently and also the dues were being cleared at the right time. After the mentioned time the card was not being used though it was also not cancelled.

          Now suddenly from the last month the Bill started showing small amount of money. Last month it was Rs. 15.82 which I had payed (15.08). Suddenly a new bill was sent to me today with an amount of Rs 30.90

          I have'nt been using the card for quite a long time now. In this situation why should i keep paying these amounts to the bank.

          Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card — wrong report to cibil

          i had credit card of standared chartered bank. no.[protected] last bill of Rs.1509.77 feb 2006 bill.paid Rs.1510 on 9.3.2006 after that no bill rece. but in feb.2007 i was inform of sm dues n paid Rs.9300. bill not yet rece.post that bank send letter to ABN AMRO stating that account is goos and some issue due to non recording of new address. The original bill of said 9300 is not yet reached me due change of address.The new address was informed in advance.acknowledge by bank.over due amount claimed with interest etc 3 time.in 6month.ALL PAID IMMIDIATLY.no loss to bank.card cancelled that time only. still standared chartered bank has reported bad remark in cibil even when same banks personal was paid befor and after incident in time pancually.The ramark is still remain hurting my credentials.Thare is no default in any payment of loans and card ever in past n present.

          I came to understand again that standared chartred bank remark still thare.NEED TO REMOVE WITH APPOLOGY.

          I completely agree with Rajib. One of the worst banking I have seen so far. I had twice requested to close my credit card account and also paid Rs. 4000. So far the account has not been closed and I have not even received any statements from them. All of a sudden this was noticed when I tried to apply for loan through CIBIL. I request SBI bank not to just believe such false records and trouble innocent people..
          The same thing happened with me, i had told them to close my credit card account in 2005, and the called me up in nov2010 claiming Rs.50000/- and have already reported me to CIBIL because of which not able to get Car Loan. SCB is the worst bank i have come across.

            I am holding a “Manhattan Platinum” credit card of Standard Chartered Bank. The bank has charged a sum of Rs. 4975.78 (Rs. 2,300.28 + Rs. 288.43 on 24.10.2009 & Rs. 2164.16 + 222.91on 25.11.2009) towards the balance due of Rs. 7,995.20 made on 26.10.2009 (9 days from the due date) and that too for no fault of mine as the monthly statements was not delivered by the bank on time. This payment was made on the same day when the statement was received. The amount of interest charged i.e. Rs. 4975.78 amounts to 2524% p.a. on a payment due of Rs. 7,995.20 made on 26.10.2009 (9 days from the due date). The acts of the officials of the opposite party in refusing to refund/ reverse the illegal charges/ interest to my credit card account has caused great mental torture and harassment.

              Dear Sir,

              I am a credit card holder of Standard Chartered Bank. I made a minium amount due payment of Rs.2,500/- Cq no 117466 on 21st August 2009. i.e 5 to 6 days before due date the said cheque was dropped in the Skypak drop box in kolkata 84 area. The said cheque came for clearing on 3rd September. The bank chaged Rs.600/- as late fine. On calling the customer care they said as service gesture they will reverse only 300/- but they didn't. So i stopped making payments and they kept on cahrging late fines and overlimit charges. Now they have agreed to reverse Rs.1100/- but by now charges have piled up to 2300/- plus interest of Rs.2000/- for two months delay adds up to 4,300/- . I am willing to pay 30,000/- which is my usage but they are asking for 34,091.93/-.

                Am totally fed up with this card & Customer Care Services.

                I made a purchase for Rs.9500 on 4th Oct by using this Card. I’ve Checked with Customer care before my purchase reg, the Conversion for EMI options. They Said OK. After my purchase, Customer care Guys are telling me that they can’t convert for EMI Options.

                Regarding this I made many Calls to Customer care. But no response from their side.

                Customer care should response in proper way towards their Customer and should provide correct information for their Queries.

                  Respected Sir,
                  I Sri Dipankar Nag aged about 32 years, son of Sri Prabhas Chandra Nag presently residing at 1/3/1 Padmapukur lane, Adwitiya apartment, flat G4, Howrah, West Bengal – 711 109. Wish to inform you that for the last six (6) months some agents of Standard chartered bank credit card division is threatening me on my mobile phone number [protected]. A few months back the aforesaid agents tried to harass me on my mobile phone stating that they will put up a case at the court of Chandigarh Punjab in regards to my credit card and they will succeed to get a court order of a personal warrant against me and if I want to avoid this circumstances, I will have to pay the bank an amount of Rs.25000 within a week time, which was duly an impossible task for a unemployed family man alike me. They also informed me to meet the collections department in Kolkata within 2 days, I requested them earnestly to send an agent to my house to settle the disputed matter however they denied to do so and hence again threatened me with unlawful languages. After that I disconnected the phone of mine immediately.

                  Sir, this credit card issue was disputed a few years back and was once put up on one of the Lok Adalats in Kolkata and the matter was not settled there as the bank persons were threatening to pay the full amount; however it was illegal as the dispute was created by themselves only. After this incident I sent a letter to their Kolkata office however there was no response.

                  Lastly on Saturday 21/11/2009 at about 09:30 AM in the morning, I received a phone call from the number [protected] to my mobile [protected] threatening me to vacate my residential place as the caller named as Mr. Jaswant Thakur police employee for the state of Punjab have obtained allege court order from the court of Chandigarh Punjab to seal my residential place, when I queried about the case, he (Mr Jaswant Thakur) told me that I can call up the concerned lawyer to know the details, and he is only a police employee and he will come around 02:30 PM to seal my residential place which actually doesn’t belongs to me. Mr. Jaswant Thakur told me about the Advocate named as Mr. Virendra Sahi and his phone number is [protected] to know more details. I accordingly called up the above named Advocate Mr. Virendra Sahi to know about the details; however he told me that if I can deposit Rs. 50,000 immediately on account of my Standard Chartered credit card then only they can stop that process of sealing my residence. I then immediately called up my family friend, philosopher & Lawyer, Advocate Tapan Jana of the High Court Kolkata and gave him the details of the caller. Mr. Jana then called up on that number [protected] and tried to decipher the identity & motto of the caller, however the person named above as Mr. Jaswant Thakur a police employee of Punjab did not disclose anything to my lawyer or rather denied to talk to him. Mr. Jana then advised me to lodge one complain at my nearest police station, which I did with Shibpur P.S being P.S GD number 2170 dated 21/11/2009 at about 12:50PM. ( A Xerox of receipt is attached herewith).

                  Sir, I therefore wish to place an FIR against the aforesaid persons named a Mr. Jaswant Thakur and Mr. Virendra Sahi with the aforesaid phone numbers [protected] and [protected] and the Standard Chartered Bank authority. As the aforesaid threat was suspicious and they didn’t even turn up at my residence as intimated. Sir so far as I read the RBI credit card rule provides as follows “Banks, NBFCs or their agents will be barred from putting through threatening and anonymous calls or making false and misleading representations.” And also the bank authorities have been told that “ Not to indulge in acts intended to humiliate publicly or intrude on the privacy of the credit card holders’ family members and friends.” etc.,etc.

                  Sir, I will be highly obliged if you kindly note a FIR against the aforesaid persons and with their numbers and also concerned bank personnel for such humiliation and harassment and causing mental anguish. I will also forward this copy of my letter to the concerned persons and department. I will also share the same with the media to stop this nuisance of physical and mental harassment of general public by the banks if so necessary further.

                  Standard Chartered Bank — Telephonic Harrassment at Office & Residence - PL

                  I had taken a PL from SCB in Oct'07 and have been paying EMI regularly through ECS since Dec'07 till May'09(18 EMI) without any return history.
                  Due to certain unforseen circumstances funds were not available in the bank and the current month (Jun'09) ECS got returned.
                  I received a collection call from Mr. Ramesh, SCB-Delhi-Collection representative, from[protected] on 25.06.09 for the due emi. I conveyed to him that I would be giving cheque on 29th as the funds would be available on 30th evening. But on this statement Mr. Ramesh repeatedly urged on payment by cash or DD on 29th and didnt even bother to understand the problem. This urge led to him for using slangs and abusive languages involving myself, my family members & even my organisation in which i work for including threats of sending muscle men at my home & office to collect money.

                  The same guy again gave me repeated a call on 26.06.09 from morning 11:30am to 3:00pm on my mobile number & Office landline number. Today also this guy started the conversation with abusive langauages and in my absence from office for 15-20 min did the same treatment to other colleagues of mine. By fortune i could record a part of the conversation in my mobile (which i am not able to attach as not allowed)

                  I have communicated the same to my organisation concerned person & also trying to lodge a complaint at the local SCB collection

                  My only grudge being that how can banking instituition like SCB can afford to keep/hire guyslike Mr.Ramesh for collection followup to a customer who has never defaulted to them and is also committed to pay the dues.

                  I hope my grieviance be considered and would request other customers to atleast make the forum & the financial instituition know that these kind of collection guys are doing harm to FACE of the bank in society.

                    I was having a credit card of St. Chartered Bank during 2005-06 which was free membership card and I was assured that there will be no any membership fees to hold the same and the card was never utilized by me. Inspite of that bills regarding membership fees dispatched to me for which I applied to wave off and returned the card for cancellation .
                    Now while applying the bank loan I came to know that my name is appearing in CIBIL against that card which was never utilized and none payment was made through the same.

                      Dear Sir,

                      Re: Dispute in recent Manhattan Card Accounts And Settlement of other Credit Cards/Personal Loan Accounts in the name of Pranab Kr. Mitra


                      Despite making several complains in Customer Care Phonebankig as to the cancellation of recet Manhattan Instabuys / Classic Accounts opened by your bank recently through which you had issued number of same insurance policies in my name or my wife’s name, without taking any verbal/ written consent from me, against which I have denied to pay any amounts you claimed as outstanding to the said accounts. It is shocking to me that your bank on its own discretionary power has distributed / credited the outstanding amount to those accounts from other credit cards accounts, for which I have already made the payments last month, and you have not even given any reply to my earlier letter sent to you in this regard as yet. These whimsical actions of the bank are not only illegal but malafide, and it will also damage the reputation and goodwill of the bank, however, I crave leave to reserve my rights to take up these matters to the appropriate forum for redressal. In view of the foregoing reasons, I have decided to close the long relationship with your bank immediately, and therefore, I would request you to please let me have within 7days time, the total outstanding balance of all my old credit cards/ personal loan accounts for immediate settlement; excluding all recent Manhattan Cards/ Instabuy’s Accounts for which I will not pay any further amount, and those accounts/ policies should be cancelled immediately, as those accounts/ policies were opened or issued by the bank deliberately and purposely without taking my verbal/ written consent. Moreover, bank’s sudden increased of my credit limits from Rs. 1, 45, 000/- to Rs. 1, 87, 000/- and thereafter, immediately opened those Manhattan Accounts and issuing several insurance policies of same types, clearly shows the bank’s malafide and dishonest actions. I crave leave to reserve my rights to take up these matters with the appropriate form for redressal and responsible you for all the consequences. Kindly let me have the detail information/ statement of accounts specifying the total outstanding balance of each old credit cards/ personal loan accounts within 7 days for immediate settlement. If I found there is any discrepancies in the said statement, I will not settle the dues but take up the matter to the appropriate forum immediately, which please note. I look forward to receiving a detail positive response from you within 7 days time, where upon I will settle the outstanding payments.

                        Standard chartered added some life isurance produts on my card without my consent & when i refused to pay the amount , every fortnightly they are calling me on my nos. with threating & abusive words.Till date no bank official staff has visited me with the official leter of amount due & the reasons of being the products attached in my card. Some imediate leagal help is solicitated in this regard.

                          I held a Standard Chartered credit card awhile ago which I closed 9-10 years back.Suddenly I start getting calls from the recovery agents, abusive calls also to my wife stating that i was a fraud and had to repay around 9and a half lacs.My credit limit had been Rs 25000.I had payed my outstanding bills but did not retain any records since I assumed that the matter was closed.
                          Now like a bolt from the blue they say that I have outstandings and I have no papers to prove otherwise.
                          Could anything be done about it ?

                            Unethically charging interest

                            I had bought laptop for Rs.50,000/- and had enquired about the EMI facility on it, with Standard chartered Bank CSR they told me yes, we will grant you the EMI facility.

                            But after the purchase of laptop they denied the EMI facility and are continous calling me for the unethical interest charged payment levied by them on this purchase.

                            But still i made the payment of Rs.40,000/- and Rs.10,000/- is still pending...

                            i have a credit card of SC bank.
                            this bank in my July bill add extra amount.
                            again in next bill ,they add more,when i complain,they reverse the same of that month,but not of July as they are saying that u not complained in same month
                            they answer,i[censored] complain in same month, we can reverse then.
                            It means that,if we will see the bill,they may add any extra amount.

                              last 7 month i am not getting bills from Standard cartared bank for credit card. But i am paying minimum balance to the bank on the basis of request made by the bank.
                              Even i mailed my complaint to the bank on the following email id's- head.[protected]@sc.com, customer.[protected]@sc.com. Bank not even replied any thing related to the mail to me.

                              I am feeling help less please let me know what should i do.

                                This is to inform you that for the last 8 months, I am making payment of BT amount to your bank and the last payment made on LAST MONTH AS usual within date in October 2009 at the bank’s chowringhee branch, Kolkata , machine, even then I am getting regular follow up call for the last 02 months from your payment follow up department since early morning to late evening at least twice a dozen calls a day regularly , without any valid reason and not only that they are asking a lot of personal information which should not be given to anyone over phone but they are forcing me day by day to reveal all my details and personal information for entire identity even though I cautioned them as per RBI regulation it is not deemed under any circumstances to reveal identity and personal details to anyone regarding bank accounts and card accounts as per the security norms.Moreover there was no intimation per hard copy or in black and white document letter from the bank’s end on this. The mode of communication that I had earlier intimated to the bank officer was to be ordinary mail and letter stating all details on this issue or subject they are following up for,but never has the same been carried out flouting the rules of following the customer’s requests and decisions but still I didn’t receive any letter but the number of phone calls kept increasing which was again a wrong path taken by the bank. I have even lodged a complaint several times with your agency as well as customer care division but nothing has come out so far till date except harassment. Everytime the officer apologize stating further this will not be repeated and clear out the bank’s fault but still the issue persists.
                                As far as I remember , customer care, and got the confirmation that the bank confirms that there is no dues (no defaulter charges) but my regular payments are in line and are ok and there is no issues. But till date Since Sept 09 I a being harassed over phone and mentally tortured for nothing which is not desireable. I have been making payments as per regulation and well within time and limit but the same service desired from the bank is not being obtained except harassments without compensation.

                                This has left me with no other alternative but to legally file a case against the bank With RBI India Banking Ombudsman 2009 as per norms Notification Ref CSD.BOS.No. 4736/13.01.01/2008-09 dated February 3, 2009, (The Reserve Bank of India Banking Ombudsman 2009) and with consumer court for such illegal procedure followed by the bank when the first mode of communication is through letter in hard copy.( As per the amended Scheme, the Banking Ombudsman can award compensation to the complainant in the case of complaints arising out of credit card operations, taking into account the loss of the complainant's time, expenses incurred by him as also, harassment and mental anguish suffered loss of time etc. Further, non-observance of the Reserve Bank's guidelines on engagement of recovery agents by banks has also been brought specifically under the purview of the Scheme. )
                                Please let me know whatever total payment is due , and I want to clear off the entire amount.
                                Please do not upgrade my card to platinum card for which I have given consent .As service is not up to the mark and customer satisfaction is zero with over the head mental torture form the bank.
                                Moreover kindly arrange for cancellation of by SCB gold card after getting your dues.

                                I'm my self a lawyer (LLB) and definitely see that the bank has done several wrong deeds for which it should compensate as per norms of at least Rs 50, 000.The bank has no right to call up at residence first and fore most and that even beyond office hours. For any clarification or what so ever thew India Law has laid certain rules which has been flouted, disobeyed and defied by this bank.As per RBI (Banking Ombudsman Scheme) as updated in Feb 09 this above complaint is truly justified and the bank should immediately apologize with compensation whatsoever the case or matter may be as this is a wrong procedure. Moreover I advice my client here that it has been mandatory for all banks to obey RBI Rules and they should not persist for personal information from any customer without their consent moreover the mode of communication is to only the one desired by the customer. Hence keeping all issues at bay I would advice the bank to take the matter seriously else they are in deep trouble.

The previous credit card no was [protected] the validity date was12/01 to 12/03 . but as per credit information report I came to know that, my credit report has shown against my new card no [protected] of which I have not yet received, because I was at Meghalaya on promotional posting from my department of I&B. therefore your bill is false.So you are requested to may kindly be withdrow your credit report of which you have given to CIBIL. Hence I have no credit card scince from January 2004 to till date. Nevertheless I will go to Consumer court & HighCourt Calcutta.
                                Hope you may send me a N.O.C and Cutoff my name from CIBIL.within 12 hours.
                                Otherwise I will bound to sart my movement.

                                  I hold this credit card from 7 years but stopped using it from 2 years. Last year, without my authorisation the Bank upgraded my card to a Gold Card which required annual fee of Rs 2000. Post that upon non payment, put my name on CIBIL defaulters list. I have received atleast 100 follow up calls and all my requests as to the details for the outstanding were not heeded until recently when I insisted upon the recovery dept person to investigate when he found that actually there were no purchases made by me.

                                    I had used my Titanium Credit Card Number [protected] at one of the merchant at Manori Resort Pvt Limited, he swiped my card twice amounting to Rs 1144/- in his machine, but Merchant machine was not working, he asked for cash i paid my bill in cash, after getting my bill i realized that twice swiping done my the merchant is been charged to me.
                                    i have complaint the same in SCB call center but i have not got any satisfied responce.
