Dear Sir/Madam,
I have opened an OD account with the limit of Rs.100000/- in standard chartered bank in 2005 a/c no.[protected] with Rs.599 annual maintenance charges and interest rate 24%PA. But from Sept-08 they have increase interest rate 6%PA due to market loss but they also convince me when market up your interest rate automatically decrease by the banker. but they aug-09 also increase interest rate 6%PA so my OD a/c interest rate presently 36% PA. i already talk with banker but they don't ready for decreasing the interest rate. i unable to pay this huge interest rate. so i would like to you do the needful help regarding this.

Yours Truly,
Suresh Kumar

    Sir,
Need your assistance in solving one of the concerns faced by me.

    Gist of Issue-

I was using the SCB credit card & just for avoiding the annual fee I had to used the credit card for Rs 259 in the month of Feb'09. I didn't received any Credit card Statement for the above transaction than I myself called to customer care deptt on 16th March & confirmed about the last date of payment. The CCE had told me that last payment date is 19th March where I had dropped the cheque at Preet Vihar ATM on 16th march of RS 270 of ICICI bank. But according to there records The payment had been debited on 24th March. Suddenly I got a call from the collection deptt on 13th october that there is an outstanding on my card of Rs 3050 & without acknowledge me they have blocked my card in July'09. I was very shocked to know that there is an o/s of 3000 on the card where I had made the excess payment of Rs 11 before the due date. They Have charged 6 months Interest & late charges on the card. I am talking to bank people from last 15 days & exchanging the mails regularly but they people are harassing me to do the payment. I am using other bank credit cards from last 6 years but there is not even a single late fee on any card. I request ypu to pls resolve this issue asap.

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Non reversal of Charges

I am having ICICI Bank Visa Card from January 2006, a period of almost three years. During the period I have used Card many times and have paid my outstanding balances before due dates. If you see the payment track record, the payments have been made much before due dates without even intending to enjoy interest free credit period in any of the transactions.

After repeated requests from your Sales Executive at Big Bazaar, your executive filled up the application Form for submission to Bank for issuance of BIG Bazar ICICI Bank Credit Card. The Card was issued in January 2006. As personally I am against use of credit cards and mostly use my Debit Card only for doing transactions. And for making these payments, I generally round off the figure to nearest Rupee and pay and which can be verified from earlier transactions and payments in the Card.

In June 2008, I did an internet transaction of Rs. 31, 750.00 for purchase of Air Tickets and paid the said amount immediately. Somehow, an amount of Rs. 31, 750.07 was debited in the next Credit Card Statement for the transaction and Rs. 31, 750.00 was shown as receipt against the same. I ignored the outstanding of Rs. 0.07 as a negligible balance as all along I have paid the amounts in round figures.

To my utter shock and surprise, my next statement showed as debit for interest charges and late payment charges. I spoke to Bank for reversal and I was confirmed that these are by default system driven charges and will be reversed as I am not liable to pay. I accepted the confirmation and did no transactions in subsequent months. But was shocked to note that the charges have not been reversed even in November and Rs. 0.07 outstanding have exponentially risen to Rs. 2295.43 which in present month has further increased to more than Rs. 2800.00, which is an increase of 30000% in a span of 5-6 months. Later on when I spoke for reversal explaining all details, I was told that the matter has now gone to recovery department. I believe and understand that ICICI Bank is trying to recover unjustified, undue and unwarranted charges from Customers like me for the reason that they have lost considerable sums due to misadventures in International Financial Markets.

My complaint is for reveral of charges and unblocking of Card.

Need your assistance in solving one of the concerns faced by me.

    Gist of Issue-

I have received a Credit card Statement on 09-09-07. Due Date 01-10-07 Payment due ( Rs - 2255.65 ). The above amount was paid in Form of Cheque on 27-09-07 and dropped in Drop Box located at Goregaon East Station.

The Cheque Collection has been delayed hence Cheque got cleared on 05-10-07. Due to the delay Late Payment of Rs 350/- + Interest Rs 409/- other than this Insurance charges of Rs - 105/- Charged to me. totalying to Rs 864 (Rupees Eight Hundered Sixty Four Only) in next statement.

After getting the next Statement i had spoken to Customer Care Division immediately and informed that this was due to the delay from SCB to present the instrument and i have deposited correctly before of 3 working Days of Statement Date.

The same was agreed upon & i was assured regarding the reversal of all charges.Customer care division advice me to pay balance due amount(i.e.Total billed amount Rs.12740 less charges Rs.864) before due date and I have made same payment of Rs. 11,876/- before due date.

As the charges was not reversed as promised hence i again spoke to CSE who had again confirmed the same but his request was not dint processed as promised.

He had informed the SCB that he has been harassed and stop using the Card and requested them to get the same reversed as he is a Premium Customer.

In this process SCB has adjusted the payment towards charges and kept pending due on account of transaction done on card.

I have received a call from Collection in Feb 09 towards making payment of Rs 5100/- After pacifying the issue Collection Team had also agreed that the charges are incorrect shall be reversed however collection agent as usual didn't turned up.

Then Call received from Recovery Dept Senior Official who also assured him regarding reversal and inturn suggested me to speak to Call Center & log complaint for reversal then he will get the same done.

As advised i spoke to the call centre and register a complaint for 100 % Reversal but later when recovery office checked he confirmed the Customer care had again guf[censored]p and didn't noted his issue.

Now My name is appeared in CIBIL due to which facing some issue for processing of Home Loan.
This is usual with these Banks and they are killers. Unfortunately there are these fine prints that has all these tortuous conditions which we sign at the time of issuing the card. Sorry to hear that and I understand what you are saying and have experience innumerable times...but I dont see any solution to these problems. Banks are Kings..The only thing I have learnt is never be a prompt payer..because the more promptly you pay, the more they extract from you and the best customers are those who pay the most interest and late charges...Good Luck!

I am an old customer of Standard Chartered credit card and would like to express my concerns and problems I have faced recently due to inappropriate handling of my credit card related charges which has affected my home loan processing due to unexpected entry in civil records. I would need your time and patience to read my email in its entirely and understand the problem.

2 years back I made a payment of approx INR 500.00 through check payment two days before the payment due date. Standard Chartered Bank delayed in processing the check and thus the check was realized after the payment due date. As a consequence of this, next month they charged a whopping amount of INR 400.00 as the late payment fees. I do not understand what prompted them to charge late payment when there was no delay from my side. Secondly, with INR 400 being charged as late payment fees for INR 500, is the bank supposed to charge 80% per month interest? I had multiple discussions with the customer care executives but they refused to listen and understand and only wanted that extra amount to be paid to bank. So it was decided to deactivate the card. After that I did NOT hear anything from Standard Chartered Bank either through email, or phone or through letter correspondence.

Now after the span of more than 2 years I applied for home loan and during that processing I came to know I have a payment due of approx INR 7240 which came as a surprise for me. Firstly, card was deactivated then how could that amount be there due on me? Secondly, I did not hear anything from the bank about this. Thirdly, if by chance I had applied for loan after another 2-3 years, bank would have made INR 1 Lac due on me!!!!!

I called the customer care (Phone banking) and first they asked me to visit MG Road, Bangalore branch. There I was asked to go to Koramangala, Bangalore branch. However even Koramangala branch also does not handle credit card specific grievances but one executive sent an email to customer care to handle my case. I got the call from customer care and I explained complete problem and situation to customer care executive. He ensured me that if there are no transactions from my side, he will reverse the charges and issue a full and final settlement letter. Meanwhile I also requested for my contact details and requested for last 26 months email statement. I was told that it will take 2-3 working days to send the email statement. I called after 2-3 working days and some other executive told me that it will take 7-10 working days to send the statement. I fail to understand whether all customer care executives are actually knowledgeable about the processing time to generate the statement.

After this I got the call from Standard Chartered Banks Recovery department (Mr. Shyam) for my complaint. The executive admitted that there was delay in processing from the bank but still the I would need to pay the INR 7240!!! On explanation he told that you did not do "Closure" of your card but did just "Deactivated" the card. As a normal middle class customer would I really need to bother or read banking literature before I put up a request to customer care executive? Even if there is a difference between these 2 terms, then why was I not getting the statement from the bank? Also it very ironical that on the one hand bank executive is admitting that there was delay in processing from bank's side and on the other hand asking customer to pay for bank's delay. It is clearly evident that an advantage of my situation is being taken. Bank knows that I will be forced to pay unnecessarily to get my home loan processed.

The same evening I called up the executive who had contacted me for the first time and told him about the discussion that happened with recovery department. He told me that bank would waive off INR 4000 and I would still be liable to pay INR 3380 approx. Now in any case I felt that I have to be a victim of someone else's mistake and circumstances, my bad luck and bad experience with the bank.

Next day I got the call from recovery department and they asked me to pay INR4500 instead of INR3380. I could not understand that when one executive had already confirmed for INR3380 then why recovery department is indicating INR4500. On arguing they agreed for INR 3380 but asked me to pay INR 3500!!! I could not understand this difference again and then after again arguing it was agreed for INR3380. It was mutually discussed that I will pay by cash at my office from your collection executive on production of full and final settlement from Standard Chartered bank.

Now, is there any body who can answer my questions:-
      1. Why the hell was I charged when I made the payment on time and it was a delay from banks side?
      2. What was the rate of interest with which the late fees was charged?
      3. If my account was deactivated, why they kept on charging interest on that?
      4. After 2 yrs, when they agree that there were no dues from my side, then why do I have to make the payment.

I cant see any other reason except taking advantage of the situation of the customer. Is this a new policy bank has come up to earn money? Is this the way a multinational company deals with their customers? Is there anyone who can stop these banks from cheating innocent customers? Is that the only way left for us to spend our hard earned money? I know the amount is not that big, but i am highly surprised with the way it has happened.

I request you to look into this matter and take action appropriately. As a helpless customer with no choice I have no other go except to pay the amount I am asked for.

      Hi,

I too have the same problem with me. I have made the payment thorugh online portal on the day before the last date and they did not post it for which they had put late payment charges, which i refused to pay. Now they had reported around 6400 on my name to credit agency report. I am facing the same problem now when i apply for car loan. let me know if you had resolved this problem by any other means.

      Regards,
      Muthu
      Hi
I am also facing similar problem. I normally used to pay me credit card through Cheques. After the Online Portal was announced, I started to pay through this option. I made the payment for April 2010 on 26th of that month, whereas my due date is 30th of the same month. The portal accepted my payments and the amount got deducted from my bank account. In the first week of May 2010 I got an SMS saying there is a due in my account and the card got blocked automatically. I was not aware of this fact till I gave a call to the customer support, who in turn told me that the card was blocked.

As my normal practice I made the full amount specified in my statement against my card. Later after checking with the customer care, I found out the fact that
whenever a customer makes the payment for both the loan amount and the primary card amount in the main card itself, they should give a call to the customer support to tell amount bifurcation. This however happened automatically to me, when I paid the amount through cheque transactions. As the usual fashion, the bank has given me late fee for not transferring the amount. After continuous conversation with the customer support, the late fee was waived.
However before I made my payments I called the customer support to find out the final balance to be paid. At this point, I was shocked totally because, she told me to pay the full amount of Rs.2377, (which had the full amount with the late fee ) which will be adjusted in the next bill. Now as a poor customer I need to pay the complete amount to activate my card.

Now, is there any body who can answer my questions
      1. If the bank is able to do a automatic allocation of amount from my cheque transaction, why can't the online transaction do the same.

      2. Coming back to the bank's logic, if the amount has been transferred to the primary card completely, then I should have got warning sms from the bank in the month of April about the due amount pending and not after the next month bill generation.

      3. When the bank is sending me one statement for all my primary card, secondary card, Instabuy account (card loan accounts) why can't I do the same when I pay to them.

      4. What is the exact procedure to pay the credit card, which has some late fee waived after billing is generated.

      5. Moreover the online transaction screens never say that card loan amount entered in the Primary card should be intimated to the customer support before the end of month or due date.

I am also asking the same questions posted in the above complaints.

Is this a new policy bank has come up to earn money?

Is this the way a multinational company deals with their customers?

Is there anyone who can stop these banks from cheating innocent customers?

Is that the only way left for us to spend our hard earned money?

Though the amount is small from the bank's point of view, it is still a big one for a middle class family like us.

      Regards

      Badri narayanan P.N.
      Hi,

I have a very bad experience with standard chartedred bank ...this is the worst bank in ths world for a acredit card ...
      Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for all the updates about the struggle, even you guys have gone through, like me.

This has to be fixed by somebody and maybe I will be taking the initiative. I would appreciate If you all can support to root out this menace. It is unfortunate that these guys are harassing a whole lot of sincere people and their hard earned money, just by silence and not by providing the Credit against the card and that's illegal and CRIME as you all know.

Even if we have to start an ANDOLAN it is worth it, otherwise this crime will continue.
These guys have all the time to harass by calls and mail. But, no time to suggest, Guide or forward the "No Due Form" as and when they block the cards or we stop using the same. This is a very serious crime.

We have to do everything possible to bring this horrible issue to the surface of our society and make it visible to all. Especially the Finance Ministry in Govt. And even Supreme court should come forward in taking tough action for the people and group behind the Crime and illegal means of harassing honest customers like us.

I have already made all the efforts to contact the Ombudsman and RBI to resolve this crime and shall update soon the outcome.

I request for your suggestions to end this at any cost. Kindly do support.

      Regards,
      Sanjay

I WAS USING THE SCB TITANIUM CARD FROM SEP-08 TO NOV-08. THIS CARD WAS HAVING 0% TRANSACTION FEES ON FUEL AT ANY OF THE FUEL PUMPS ALSO THERE WAS A 5% CASHBACK OFFER GOING ON OVER THIS CARD. BUT ON THE TRANSACTION DATED 30-09-08 FOR FUEL SCB CHARGED ME THE SERVICE CHARGES AS WELL AS NOT GIVEN ME THE 5% CASHBACK IN THAT STATEMENT. WHEN I CONTACTED TO CUSTOMER CARE, THE GIRL SAID SHE CAN'T DO ANYTHING NOW, I NEED TO PAY THE BILLED AMOUNT, IF POSSIBLE THEY WILL ADJUST IN THE NEXT MONTH. WHEN I WAS EXPECTING YOU TO RESOLVE MY ISSUE OF CHARGING THE SERVICE CHARGE FOR FUEL, BUT THEY CHRGED ME THE LATE FEES AND INTEREST OVER IT. I AGAIN REQUESTED THEM FOR THE REVERSAL OF THESE UNJUSTIFIED CHARGES, BUT NO ONE RESPONDED. MEANWHILE I STOPPED USING THE CARD. AFTER THIS I WAS IN TOUCH WITH CUSTOMER CARE ALMOST ONCE IN EVERY WEEK. BUT EVERY TIME THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT, “ FIRST PAY ALL THE DUE AMOUNT, THEN THEY WILL SEE MY PROBLEM”. THIS WAS THE STORY TILL THE MONTH OF APRIL-09.

FEW DAYS BACK ONE OF THEIR RECOVERY AGENT MS. DIPTI MAHADIK CALLED ME, AND STARTED SHOUTING LIKE ANYTHING. SHE TALKED TO ME AS I AM A THIEF & THEFT IN THEIR BANK, AND SHE WAS A POLICE OFFICER INQUIRING ME. SHE WAS NOT AT ALL READY TO LISTEN TO ME, SHE WAS ONLY ASKING “ARE YOU GOING TO PAY THE DUES OR NOT?” I SAID TO HER THAT AS I USED ONLY 1700Rs. OUT OF WHATEVER OUTSTANDING IS SHOWN IN YOUR RECORD AGAINST ME. SHE ALSO ACCEPTED THAT I HAVE ACTUALLY USED THE CARD FOR 1700Rs. BUT SAID YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE TOTAL DUES. AGAIN TODAY SHE CALLED ME IN MY OFFICE AND WASTED MY TWO HOURS. SHE TALKED TO ME LIKE ANYTHING, SHE USED VERY ABUSING WORDS TO ME, FORTUNATELY I HAVE RECORDED ALL HER CONVERSATION AND I CAN PROVIDE IT TO YOU AT ANY TIME. SHE ALSO SAID THAT SHE WILL HARRAS ME LIKE THIS TILL I PAY THE ENTIRE DUE AMOUNT. I FURTHER EXPLAINED HER THAT, IF I HAD AN INTENSION OF CHEATING THE BANK I COULD HAVE USED THE CARD FOR ALL THE 85000RS., THE CREDIT LIMIT OFFERED TO ME, BUT I DON’T AS I WAS NOT HAVING THAT INTENSION.

NOW I WANT TO KNOW FROM YOU THAT WHETHER THIS IS THE POLICY/APROACH OF BANKS TO TREAT THE CUSTOMERS? INSPITE OF MAKING THE MISTAKE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT MY DUES AND INTEREST OVER IT. INITIALLY WHEN I WAS TALKING TO THEIR CUSTOMER CARE THEY DONT REALLY INTERESTED IN SETTLING THE ACCOUNT, AND NOW WHEN THE MATTER WENT TO RECOVERY DEPARTMENT, THEY ARE ABOUT TO KILL ME. I DONT KNOW WHOM DO I AM WRITING TO, BUT I HAVE ALL THE TRANSACTIONS RECORD WITH ME ALONGWITH THE CONVERSATION WITH YOUR MS. DIPTI.
I WILL REQUEST YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THE MATTER VERY SERIOUSLY AS IT CAN TAKE SOMEONES LIFE FOR NOTHING.

I agree with whatever you said. I also had SCB titanium card. They first didn't provide me the statement on time even after requesting for the same. Later when I got the statement for next month, they levied extra charges for fuel transaction, however it was promissed as free with 5% cash back which I even confirmed from customer care of SCB before taking the card and they assured me of this cash back and zero transaction fee. The statement also included extra charges for previous month which was due to non receipt of the statement even after requesting for the same.

After some payment I was left with around Rs 1770, which I promised to pay after correction of bill which never happened though I requested them many times for the same. Now again they have increased the bill by levying so many extra charges.

Standard Chartered bank cheat its customers by providing false information and later charges extra by not providing timely information. I strongly request the authorities to take stern action again such type of banks which are involved in irresponsible banking.

            Dear Madam/Sir,

I learnt recently from some known sources when applying for credit card of another bank that my name has been blacklisted in banks list of payment defaulters. To my knowledge there wasn’t any conflict with any banks where I maintain accounts since 1995 (Indian Bank, ICICI bank and Citibank) other than SCB. There were two conflicting instances with SCB. First one was sorted out while the later was clarified from my end but SCB failed to take corrective action.

Following is the description of facts.

I was a credit card customer of SCB during 2003-05.

Initially I received credit card with a DD for Rs.30000 part of revolving facility which I had never requested for. Later on the issue was sorted out following which another fresh card was issued. I had used the earlier card and later on started using the new card where for both cards the payments towards the statement bills was made via my ICICI savings account. I have record of only one number presently [protected] and have no idea if this is old or new card number.

The last transaction I had made with the new card was at a petrol station in Chennai for filling petrol for Rs.500 where the statement was sent after waiving surcharge. When the statement was sent I made payment online towards the old card issued earlier which was registered in my savings account since both cards had same customer reference. By mistake I had even made two payments for one bill. Refer the enclosed images for details.

The following month the statement was sent with interest charges for over due payment where I had contacted your customer service department and clarified the payment details. The executive promised to make the correction and confirmed that charges would be reversed in the next statement which never happened. I kept calling month after month where the interest charges kept increasing and there was no corrective action from SCB. Realizing that there was no action I discontinued using SCB card and was waiting for someone to call from SCB for default of payment and I could clarify my point on payments made in time. My contact mobile number has not changed since 2002; hence tracing me was not a difficult task. Till today there were no calls from SCB for clarification of pending payments.

Instead of correcting the mistake SCB has simply black listed my name leaving me in despair. Realizing this late I request you to review the past records and do the corrective measures and unregister my name from blacklisted defaulters list.

Hope SCB will do the needful.

            Regards,

Today, I received a call from one of the collection of agencies of Standard Cartered. Now the case is very peculiar, I dont hold a standard chartered credit card and never ever did as well. The call is in regards to collection of payment of card belonging to Mr. Arun Nair, with whom I dont have any relation with whatsover. The lady asks me to make the payment as Arun Nair has referred my name for the payment. This is something that is beyond my reach o[censored]nderstanding. I am looking forward to lodge an official police complaint against this harrasment. Can any bod suggest the next course of action

              Thanks

Its very valid . May i ask the bank authorities that when they approach a person to join their bank they will like to take along these muscle men to make this a forceful joining. These are the services and i dont think an ordinary citizen will like to have a conflict or litigation with the bank.
I have personally closed FOUR saving accounts with the bank as there was a credit card overcharge . SCB is not bothered about personal relationships .Though many of their managers are designated RELATIONSHIP MANAGERS.
I withdrew deposit in lakhs while the bank extorted few thousand rupees from me.

I have a Master Card bearing no. [protected] , which has been issued by the Standard Chartered Bank,India.

Till about 18 months ago, I was paying the amount of dues + interest as was levied by the said Bank. However, the Bank suddenly, without any information stopped the Statement of Credit Card that was being delivered to me . On inquiry from the Bank of the same , I was told that the Card has been blocked due to reasons the bank could not tell nor issue any written document to that effect.

After a few days , supposedly, an agent of the Standard Chartered Bank started calling me up from mobile numbers [protected] & [protected] and told me in a highly abusive and threating manner that unless the I pay the dues of 210,000/- ?????? immediately, he shall make sure that I get physically harmed and my family suffers the same . I asked the person, who identified himslf as Mr.Navin Soni -A Branch Manager ( Collections ) at Standard Chartered Bank, Sector 24/25 , Building No.7A, Cyber City ,Gurgaon, what is the justification of levying such an amount and how did the Bank calculate such an amount when the dues as and when asked for were paid and further, the limit of the card was Rs.1,00,000/- only , how did the Bank quote such a figure ? He gave me no answer to this question but replied " If you do not pay the amount , I will see that you suffer beyond your imagination".

I again asked him if he could provide me anything in writing for whatever he is saying, for which again he did not reply. Instead he told me that I can complain to anyone and nothing will ever happen to him as the TOP management of the Standard Chartered Bank has authorised him to use any means, lawful or unlawful , to recover money from the customer, irrespective whether the amount is justified or not and NO written statement will be given to me ant any cost.

I called the Standard Chartered Bank helpline number[protected] in Delhi, to which I was connected to a lady who identified herself as Ms.Samira, who after politely listening to my tale of harassment, told me that she would be unable to do anything and dis-connected the call.

These calls were made only from mobile phones and no call was ever made from any landline so there was no way anyone can say whether or not Mr.Soni was speaking from Gurgaon.

Standard Chartered had given a e-mail address " headservice.[protected]@in.standardchartered.com" to which I wrote about the nature of the threat and the abusive manner in which an alleged employee of the Bank was conducting himself, however, the mail bounced back which shows that the Bank is making a fool of the Customer by providing fictitious email addresses to which no complant of any customer will ever reach.

Now , on Setember 26th , 2009, I got numerous calls again from Mr.Navin Soni telling me that if I do not pay the amount he will cause grave harm to me and my family and he does not bother about any bloody law or anyone and he shall ensure that Iam taught a lesson.

Now Iam not sure whom to get in touch for resolution of my case.

I would request you to kindly advise me on what action to take so that such goons do not hram my Family or me by adopting unlawful means and harassing the SCB customer.

                  Kshitij Darbari.

                        Dear Sir,

My standard chartered card ([protected]) was stolen on 28-Feb-09 and 5 transactions were made on this card
                        1. Airtel Bill - INR 2000/- on 28-Feb-09
                        2. Dream Collection INR 23000/, 10000/, 5000/- All three high value transaction within 2 min of time on 1-Mar-09.
                        3. Petrol INR 100/ 1-Mar-09

I got the call from SCB fraudulent department at 4:30pm confirming high value transaction of INR 10000/- and I declined and told that I have not made any transactions so please make the transaction void and block the card. She told ok. After this call I immediatly called up Customer Care of SCB, they confirm that card is blocked. They also told that I am liable to pay because card is stolen, and if I have any issue I should log the dispute. but transactions are not update in their system so I waited till 4-Mar-09 untill their system was updated with transaction and log the dispute on 4-Mar-09 and while filing I clearly asked that if I need to log the FIR to police departement they assured me that i dont need to worry as these are fraudulent transactions bank will take all necessory action, hence I did not log the FIR to Police.
After that I am regularly following up them for proper investigation but they are just responding that as card is physically involved I am liable to pay. I suspect that they are not doing any investigation to catch hold of the people who did this scam and just mentally torchering me to pay the amount and threating me that if I am not paying my credit history will be spoiled and I wont be able to take any kind of housing loan etc in the future.

I have read on 10-Jun-09 Times of India where card was stolen from wonder la and purchase was done, ICICI bank came into action and caught the people who were involved in the fraudulent transactions, even card lost was reported after in the evening. When I refer to this case the manager customer care Mr Shafiq simple told that there transactions were more than a Lakh. It clearly indicates that they are just putting the burdon of fraudulent transaction on customer rather taking action against the fraud.

I went to dream collection ( a very small perfume shop at brigade road bangalore) in person and try to find out about the transactions and merchant acknowledged that he knew the person by face thats why I swiped the card. This clearly proves that there is a gang running who steals the card and with the help of merchant they swipe the cards and do fraud.

I also requested to SCB that if you have done the proper investigation then please provide me the following documents which you would have collected as part of investigation.

                        1. Copy of FIR which they would have log before starting the investigation
                        2. Items purchase receipt of the dream collection.
                        3. Argument summary with the dream collection on swiping the card thrise instead of once.
                        4. Airtel store address where the card swiped to pay the bill
                        5. Chargeslip of all fraudulent transactions.

Out of these five document they just send me dream collections charge slip where I clearly acknowledged that the signature on recipts are not mine. When I asked them that you give me address of airtel store they told that they are not able to get the chargslip and address so they have revert back INR 2000/, I feel if I would have received the address of the store I would have trace the person by Phone number and address for which bill was paid.

I have been talking to customer care that all above transactions are fraudulent and I am not liable to pay but rather than taking any action they are just increasing interest and putting all junk charges and send me the statements.

Finally I tried finding on the internet and got your referece and with lots of hope I am sending mail to you.

Please help me out in resolving this issue.

                        Thanks in advance

                        Regards

                        Hi there,

After going through your case i would like to suggest you one thing, as you said you have already complained to the bank about the transactions that you have not done, please tell me did you forward any form called DDF(DISPUTE DECLARATION FORM) to the bank, or did you complain orally over the telephone, if you have forwarded the ddf form but still as the case is not resolved, Re dispute on the Transactions, log a complaint again with the banker. and wait for 10 days, you will get a status about, if again you get a feedback from the bank that you are liable to make the payment, escalate you case to head service department of SCB through mail then you will be able to get a resolution for it.

                          Dear Sir,

Standard Chartd bank has changed the minimum balance limit which i was not at all aware.
I am not at all happy with the charges levied on my account without prior intimation.

                          - Before withdrawal i visited to Bank and confirmed that only 10000 need to maintain.

                          - I visited personally to Samajiguda Branch and discussed the matter with branch Manager. He assured me take up this further for reverting the charges and as he advised deposited the 20000 Rs in account and promised to maintain 25000 now onward.

                          - For Q1-09 charges I got to know in Q1 statement which I received on first week of Jul-09 and till the time I called customer care executive and visited bank Q2-09 charges also deducted. It's not at all fare and it's not a small amount.

                          - Thanks to customer care executive for understanding my point and reverting the charges of Q2-09.

                          - 1400 is big amount and can not afford for which i was not at all aware.

My concern here is please revert back charges of other Quarter as well.

Requesting to help me on this for reverting the charges ASAP.

                          Thanks,

                              Dear Sir,
This has reference to Standard Chartered Principal Nodal Officer, Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya providing false documents pertaining to the year 2005 for Standard Chartered Credit Card supposedly generated in 2012, to The Hon. Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India against my complaints.
Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya has not responded to my mails given below for your records.
Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya refuses to meet in person at his Standard Chartered Bank Office at 31 Chowringhee Road, Kolkata and you are also unable to get an appointment from him.
Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya, very smartly (cunningly) not sent me letter Ref: 01/14/094353/RB/RBI dated February 18, 2014 addressed to Hon Banking Ombudsman despite a copy marked to me.
M/s Standard Chartered Bank has not only mentally harassed me but its officials have humiliated me. I would request your good Offices to look into the matter and ensure that I get a just compensation for all the harassment & humiliation.
                              Thanking you,

                              Dear Sir,

This has reference to SMS received from DZ-FROMSC

" We are pleased to inform you that your concern via ref number [protected] has been resolved."

However in reality, Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya, Nodal Officer of Standard Chartered Bank has not responded to my mails dated Tuesday, June 03, 2014 12:04 PM ; Wed, Jun 4, 2014 at 3:40 PM & Wed, 11 Jun 2014 15:12:23 +0530 marked as Reminder No 1 .

Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya vide his mail dated Tue, Jun 3, 2014 at 12:16 PM stated -

" I acknowledge the receipt of your mail & noted your concern .We assure you that it is not our intention to cause you any inconvenience . We shall revert back to you shortly ."

Kindly note that revert back of Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya has not been received till date. Standard Chartered Bank's intention is to somehow get my case under the carpet by not replying to my mails and also making me undergo humiliation by their esteemed Standard Chartered Bank Customer Care personnel like Ms Nancy. The intentions of Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya also do not generate confidence as in his letter addressed to Hon, Banking Ombudsman on February 18, 2014, the contents are not true nor are the proofs provided. Moreover, your good offices ( Mr Sourav Bhattacharyya ) have not replied to all my queries as asked for in my mail dated Thursday, January 09, 2014 at 11:59 AM which was forwarded to you by Hon, Banking Ombudsman.

This is with reference to mail dated Fri, Jan 3, 2014 at 1:45 PM, with Ref : 01/14/010244/SP/CRD of Ms Lakshmi L, Officer, Customer Care, Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card which is given below. As regards to Madam's reply, I would like to state the following -

                              (1) I did not receive any Standard Chartered Credit Card as mentioned in my 28 mails from 09/08/2013 till date. Your answer below is something not in line with my question. Secondly Ms Lakshmi L states that - " We understand that the credit card dispatch was not intimated by you in the year 2013". Kindly note that the said Card was supposed to have been received by October 2012 as you have deducted Rs 842/70 from my Standard Chartered S.B.A/c on 26/10/12 . The above clearly proves that Standard Chartered Credit Card was not dispatched to me and you have wrongly deducted from my S.B.A/c without my consent and then branded a liar by Ms Nancy of Customer Care, Standard Chartered Credit Card dept from Bangalore.

                              (2) The question of receiving SMS does not arise as I had not received Standard Chartered Credit Card.

                              (3) The response was extremely late as my first mail was sent to you on 09/08/13 and after that I have send 27 mails. Also mails were sent through Internet Banking also.

                              (4) You were forced to reverse the charges debited in the Card as I have received no Standard Chartered Credit Card and you had wrongfully deducted from my S.B.A/c without my consent also.

Kindly note that I will take this issue to its logical end for necessary compensation as Standard Chartered Credit Card fraudulently deducted Rs 842.70 from my Standard Chartered Savings Bank without my having received the said Standard Chartered Credit Card and also deduction was made without my consent despite my having send several mails from 09/08/13.

                              Yours truly,
                              Bhupendra Singh Taragi

I have been receiving stereotyped replies of the following type as given below [(a) to (g)] despite Ms Tamilarasi; Ms Prithi Shalini; Ms Manjula N; Ms Naznee Syed & Ms Padmavathy Bai sending at least 2 mails or more without resolution of my 6 queries as mentioned below {Nos (1) to (6)}.

                              (a) We are concerned to note that we have given you a cause to complain on our services. We regret any inconvenience caused to you in this regard.

                              (b) We have noted the contents of your mail. We assure you that we have assigned a dedicated resource to complete the request and also assure you that the complaint is being given the due attention it deserves. Our officer shall get in touch with you shortly and request you to bear with us till then.

                              (d) We observe from our records that your card ending 4291 has been cancelled with effect from September 27, 2013. On date there is nil balance in your card ending 4291.

                              (e) We would like to inform you that the annual fee debited to your card account is a basic product price. The same is debited to your card account for the various facilities extended on your card account. It is as per the terms and conditions and schedule of service charges applicable for your card facility.

                              (f) As a service gesture we have already reversed the annual fee of Rs.750.00 along with the service tax debited to your card account. This credit reflects in your October 2013 statement.

                              (g) We note from our records that the credit balance availed in your card account has been refund to you.

It is clear from above stereotype answers and references that you are buying time only and are in no mood of accepting your mistake on deduction of Rs 842/70 from my S.B.A/c in Standard Chartered Bank without my having received the said Standard Chartered Credit Card nor any information about the same vide SMS/Mail/Credit Card Statement or any proof of receipt and activation of said Standard Chartered Credit Card. Moreover your personnel had the audacity of branding me a liar ( Ms Nancy & another Customer Care Representative) and saying that they have proof of receipt of said Credit Card. Kindly explain as to why you reimbursed my Rs 842/70 if you had proof of receipt of said Credit Card.

However my queries, as mentioned below, have not been answered even after sending 28 mails from 09/08/13 till date -

                              (1) Why did Standard Chartered Credit Card not intimate me about a Credit Card been dispatched to me vide mail/SMS/Letter in the year 2012 and 2013. ????

                              (2) Why were there no phone calls/SMS/ Credit Card Statement made/sent in the year 2012 & 2013 regarding the Standard Chartered Credit Card ????

                              (3) Why was no action taken to my mails dated 09/08/13; 19/08/13; 21/08/13; 24/08/13; 28/08/13 and also to mails sent by Internet Banking.?????

                              (4) Why was Rs 842/70 deducted from my S.B.A/c without my consent despite my having send mails dated 09/08/13; 19/08/13; 21/08/13; 24/08/13; 28/08/13 and to Internet Banking intimating about non - receipt of the Standard Chartered Credit Card and enquiring as to who has activated the said Credit Card???? Also no suitable reply has been received from your end as to why no SMS/Credit Card Statement was sent prior to August'13 and then why was it sent in August'13 when there was no transactions (as per your reply vide mail) ????

                              (5) Why have you reversed Rs 842.70 when Ms Nancy and some other Customer Care representative have clearly stated that I was a liar as I have received Standard Chartered Credit Card as per Standard Chartered Credit Card records???? Why the sudden change of heart and mind.????

                              (6) Who is responsible for the mental trauma that I had to undergo for deduction of amount from my S.B.A/c without my consent and also to be branded a liar by Ms Nancy and your Customer Care representative???? What about the time and efforts made by me to send mails to you all to which no action was taken?????

Kindly note that I will pursue this case to its logical end and will leave no stone unturned to get natural justice from Standard Chartered Credit Card Department.

                              Yours truly,

I have a credit card from standard chartered bank. I don't have any outstanding in the credit. I got a 90 day interest free loan from my card. I made payment 1 week before the due date, but in the credit card statement I have seen a 600 rupees late charge. When I called SCB they told that the loan will be in different account and I need to make a payment and need to call SCB to inform that I have made a payment and ask them to transfer money to the loan account. Since I was not aware of this I haven't called them. When I got the statement I called them and they reversed the Late charges. But in the next month I see a interest of 627 Rupees as I didn't make the payment on time. When I got the loan there is no mention that I need to make a payment and inform SCB to transfer the payment to loan account. I would like to get my money back and SCB should be penalized for cheating the customers
Actually, I also had a bad experience with SCB. I have also got the same 90 day interest free loan. For the first month & Second Month bank has sent two statements for loan account and Credit card account. I have paid the minimum amount for two months as per the statement. Third month Bank did not send the any statements. simply sent the balance amount and due date in SMS. I have paid the full amount before the due date as per SMS received from SCBank. Next month i have asked to pay an intrest charges around Rs 500.

I called the customer care and they have told that, intrest free period is only for 90 days, we have to calculate the 90 day period and pay the amount.

                                    Dear Team,

Myself Swapnil Thakkar. I work in Supply Chain Management with Hindustan Unilever Ltd. 2 months back I had applied for the Credit Card of Standard Charter Bank. After 10 -15 days I received a letter from them saying "We cannot issue your credit card due to company policy". I wrote several mails to the bank asking for the appropriate reason. All my documents were ok and properly verified. Also, there should not be any issue with my Salary as while submitting the form, their executive vhad verified my eligibility for the card. No body reverted positively and I got the same message "We cannot issue your credit card due to company policy" !!! This is something untolerable!!

After few days, one of their executive again called me for the Card. I told her about the letter I received instead of card. She said that I will now surely get the card within 10 days. It's 15 days passed, nobody even reverted back. No communication. If I am calling that lady, she is transferring to others. All are playing with me....

Is this a way to make the consumer dance like this?? Don't they understand that their bank is running due to the consumers like us?? We, in HUL, consider the consumer as a god and these guys are making fool out o[censored]s!!! Think they are only interested in generating number of leads; not keen about satisfied customer!!

Hope you will help me resolving this issue.

                                    Regards,
                                    Swapnil

                                      Hi

This is to bring to the notice of the higher authorities that I was charged twice for a transaction done by my credit card on a petrol pump in Bangalore. When I brought this to the notice of the Bank via Phone Banking within 2 - 3 days of the transaction, they asked me to first try to settle it through the merchant as sometimes merchants do return the money if it is their fault. So I approached the merchant in this regard and in his transaction records only one transaction was there. So I went ahead and submitted a written dispute form in the Koramangala Branch of Standard Chartered Bank. I was told that within 45 days it would be processed and I will get my money back.

Now today after three months, when no communication was received from their side, then I called up phone banking again, then the person on the other side tells me that now we cannot do anything, it is more than 2 months, you should have contacted earlier.

Doesn't this feel like sheer cheating from the Bank and that too for a mere 760 Rs., shame on the bank. Tell me this, if the bank would have processed the thing wouldn't they have contacted me? Even if my cell was not reachable for a moment wouldn't they send me emails? When they can send numerous spam emails about their products, can't they send even one email when it is regarding some serious matter?

I hope someone looks into this horrible customer care of Standard Chartered Bank and take some action. My contact details are -

Complaint Date - 29th July, 2009 for a sum of roughly 760Rs. which was charged twice back to back.

Other details if required can be furnished via email.

Hope to see some action being taken for this.
