I have ordered Ice Cream on Swiggy on 14th June'22.The delivery partner contacted me to inform that my address was incorrect. But the Swiggy app showed correct address only. Moreover, another delivery was completed 30 mins before by Swiggy on same address. The customer care executive contacted me and stated that the delivery partner has denied to deliver as my address is more that 2 Kms away. This statement is also incorrect as the concerned Food outlet is only 1.6km walking distance from my residence.
After this the customer care representative cancelled my order and the entire order amount was forfeited as cancellation fee. This act is not acceptable as the fault was with Swiggy application and I should not be penalised for a system failure. Also, Swiggy has collected a tax amount from me and that was also forfeited as cancellation fee, which is a criminal offence and hence, not acceptable. The order details are enclosed here and the address shown in the screenshot is my correct address . Upon discussion with Swiggy representative, they informed that they will not reverse the cancellation charges. I request the consumer forum to support me to get back the cancellation fee along with harassment charges.
