Since our tv (Model 32l2400ze, sl. No. E51x25h00657ki in the name of my father sri gopal ch. Nandi) was out of order (Sound was coming, but picture was not visible) i contacted your authorized service centre, technoplaza, sodepur, west bengal ([protected], [protected]). They informed that service charge of rs. 690/- is to be paid. After checking, representative sri sudip, [protected] informed back-light had to be changed, for which price to be paid separately rs. 5, 000/-. The total amount paid was ts. 5, 690/-. Since it is your authorized service centre, i had no other option but to agree. He did the job on 03.12.2017. However, he did not give any receipt or bill in this regard. He has given only a service work order. On being asked he informed that the service centre does not issue bills because of gst. He did not return the back-light which he replaced and informed that the cost of back-light is more and since he has given discount, he did not return the item. After replacement it has been seen that it is a very small spare part and it is unbelievable that price of the same is more than rs. 5000/-. However, he informed that he does not know the actual price of the said spare parts.in view of the above, please inform,
I) whether you encourage your service centres not to issue bills?
Ii) whether amount he has taken is correct for the said service.
Please inform at the earliest.

The Toshiba has now feels ( again on telephone) that there is no fault in panel but may be some minor fault for which they agreed to get it examined by sending a Technician. Can you believe how much they asked on telephone for visit of Technician - Rs. 5000/- plus some other expenses depending on distance from their service Centre plus repair / part replacement cost, if any. The technician ( Engineer) repair /inspection cost is about Rs. 500/- plus GST charged by Samsung, LG, and other reputed companies whereas Toshiba wants more than TEN TIMES . I refused as it was unreasonable - covered under warranty and abnormal. However they have come down SEVEN TIMES - from Rs. 33000/- to Rs. 5000/-
I now feels that Toshiba hardly care for their customers and better thing is to approach to appropriate authorities including consumer courts so that they should be careful in future. I will do so in short time after waiting for some days for final response.
