I am varun goyal From delhi, India using toshiba laptop A300-D5310.
I had bought notebook on 01-june-2008 and i am facing a very big problem continously. I went to toshiba service center in noida (Toshiba Service Center), the id no. for the compaint is "54447" on 01-08-08.I visited service center again on[protected] with same problem .They had solved my problem but the problem occur again after every two months . The problem in notebook is that it turned off automatically after half an hour and full machine heats up. And the problem is increases with time.Now the DVD Writer is also not working.I can use my notebook only for 15 minutes after that it will turned off, because of this problem i already lost my pen drive and ipod, they got corrupted because of power off.The problem is occur again and i supposed to visited hcl toshiba noida on 24/11/2008 and my jobsheet no. is "48311516Q". They again serviced it and i met Mr. sandeeep there and he doesnot know how to treat with customers.I had words on phone with Mr. Alok, Mr. Anurag too, even they misbehaved with with me. finally i met Mr. yogesh at CP office . He promised me to take a action if problem occurs again. Now the prblem has occur third time so tell me wat to do now???
I hav already suffered so much agony it will be vry kind o[censored] i[censored] look in to the matter personally and get my laptop replaced showing the trust and standards of toshiba for which it is known worldover.
I already registered my compaint but there is no action taken so i m registering again.My previous

Toshiba Laptop — Faulty product and bad service

Toshiba laptop service centre on repairing the power strip damaged my screen mask, which is now broken and there are no response from the service centre following the complain, by mails or by telephone
hey,
i bought this laptop of toshiba M300 just 2 weeks ago and the laptop has started giving me problems also...the keys of the laptop are popping out i have got 3 keys of my laptop already pop out... my laptop has nothing in it it empty...nothing installed no used also very much but still it works very slow...it has got 2gb ram 210 gb of hard disk empty...im fed up from this laptop and my laptop is under warranty...can u ppl help out by how fix up my keys and how to speed up...
I also purchased a Toshiba labpto Model: PSU42E-005003KS,
Within couple of months the keyboard letters started to pop out. The TECHGUYS replaced the keyboard. The system reboots for no apprant reason. All the rubber padding came off bit by bit.
Later on the headphone jack stopped working and a minor crack appeared in screen, the crack was no bigger then a one millimeter, it started from the top part of the screen, within days the crack went right across the screen. I believe the crack was a result of not sufficent support is given to screen to absorb minor shocks. Every time you close the laptop there would a minor vibrational shcock.
Would I buy a TOSHIBA laptop again? Definiately NOT.
For 4 years I had a HP compaq nc6000 laptop, I never had any problem with it even though it was droped several times.

    Dear Sir,

    Ref. Jobsheet no. [protected] dated 16-02-09 for HCL Service Centre.
    060309/27 HCL Noida Customer Care.

    Despite my regular follow up to the service centre & Mr. Dinesh, I still didn't got any proper response.

    I had submitted my Toshiba Laptop to the HCL Service centre on 16-02-09, which was bought from M/s Webnet Consultants & the laptop was with 3year warranty, but now HCL Service centre's Mr. Dinesh says that its under AMC & it will take at least 7 days (not confirmed, could be more) to get the material from Toshiba so, we will be able to service your laptop. but now, its 27days & still they have the same answer, "It will take another 4-5 days".

    Due to their Poor Service, I have suffered a lot, have got huge losses in business, also it has ruined my GoodWill. I want compensation for the mental harassment given by the company & there Support Staff.

    I also feel that the company is not able to provide warranty on time to the clients, if its happening with me, than it would be happening to a lot of more buyer's, so to prevent such situation, I request to the ADCTA to inform all the Dealers that the company is not able to give the warranty, so before buying TOSHIBA or HCL material, keep in mind they also can suffer with the same.

    I am requesting to Warranty Issues & ADCTA (All Delhi Computer Trader's Association) to look into the matter & take action against the Company, as my work is suffering a lot & I can't do anything without the laptop.

    Awaiting a Solution for the problems i have faced from HCL & Toshiba.

    Toshiba — laptop ruined after going to service centre

    i bought my laptop last year in november. since then i was facing problems with display, sleep and hibernation mode, getting shocks from metallic parts, not working in projectors etc. i gave it to okhla service centre of toshiba 2 months ago and they kept my system for 3 long weeks and when they gave me back the performance of the system had gone worse. they kept the wires open inside the system, one of the two speakers was not working, still the problems with projector and display persisits and the laptop started hanging badly. there after i mailed to the higher offcials regarding this and clearly mentioned that i am not satisfied with the service centre and my complaint should not be forwarded to them again but they did the same. they called me up and asked me to again bring it to the service centre which i am not going to do. i spent aroung 56, 000 rupees on the system and i am completely messed up with its performance and the servicves of the brand.
    thus i want to lodge a complaint against the brand, the people of service centre and the engineer who worked on my laptop. as i am not satisfied with their reply against my repeated complaints. none of them even bothered to call me and talk about except the stupid service centre people.
    how to i find out the warranty status & who purchase the laptop

      i purchased a toshiba laptop on[protected]. The charger of laptop was not working as on[protected]. I went to bareilly digital informatics on[protected], service centre of tohiba. They says the charger will go to noida, when company replaced the charger then we will give you the replacement. I contact many times to digital informatics bareilly but no satisfatory answer given by service centre. After one month again i went to bareilly service centre, then they says this charger not in warrenty. and demand some money for replacement i shokked why they are saying, it is in warrenty why i paid money. I argu the service centre then they use very rough language. oh its very discusting. I think why i purchase a toshiba laptop.

      Sir,
      I bought a new charger for my laptop on 13.7.2010 from
      M/s Mahavir Infotech B-2/b, Saraswati House 27, Nehru place New Delhi-110019,
      wide challan / bill no. 409,on cash payment,
      It was mentioned for one year warranty on the memo,

      Today on 29th September, It was spoiled and stopped working,
      I approached him to replace the same as it is under warranty, but he simply refuse to
      attend the complaint and to replace the same as some serial number is missing on
      the charger. The said serial number was never mentioned at all on the memo issued
      by him for the sale of said piece.

      “ Also asked me to take what so ever possible dire action against him,
      but he will not replace it”.

      This is very unethical trade practice to stay away from the results of selling
      the defective and repaired goods. Possibly I may have been supplied a defective / repaired
      for the cost of a brand new charger.

      Now I am being harassed due to his unfair shocking action and it has caused
      me mental agony along with financial loss of Rs.1600./-, time, efforts and mainly loss
      of important work scheduled for which I could not complete due to non availability
      of charger at the required time and schedule ,

      The loss incurred can not be compensated with several lakh of rupees even.

      So It is a prayer to Hon’ble commission to intervene in to the matter and direct
      merchant to refund and compensate for the money received for the goods and mental
      agony and transportation and expenditures incurred in it the whole episode respectively

        I am running a computer shoppe around four cities in tamil nadu. my friend bought a toshiba laptop from uk. now he is in india. its under warrant and battery(backup) is very poor not more than 1 hours as they said atleast 3 hrs it will hold. i went to service station in chennai where HCL is doing their customer service i can say one of the world worst laptop service provider is HCL. They even not caring about their won hcl laptops and also for TOSHIBA they simply passing the warranty time. I got battery replacement two times but still the problem remains. they simply telling demand raised for the battery and i have to wait another two months. already i waited two times and battery also replaced. but waste of services. .WORST SERVICES IS GIVEN BY HCL FOR TOSHIBA LAPTOPSAND TOSHIBA MUST START THEIR WON SERVICE CENTRES IN INDIA. OR THEY WILL LOSE THIER NAME AMONG THE INDIAN CUSTOMERS.
        ALL I CAN SAY IS I REALLY HURT BY HCL SERVICES FOR TOSHIBA STILL THEY GIVING ME A FAULTY BATTERY ONLY. AND THEY DO THE SAME TILL MY WARRANTY PERIOD EXPIRES..I REQUEST ALL FRIENDS NEVER GO FOR TOSHIBA AND HCL LAPTOPS ANY PRODUCTS FROM HCL..

        Toshiba Satellite — Service Dealer can not commit for repairs and can not tell as to when he will be able to give my laptop back after repairs.

        I have given my new Toshiba laptop which was purchased in July for repairs on 03 Oct 08 in Toshiba authorized service center. The Service dealer has told me that the mother board has gone bad and needs replacement. But the the service dealer is not in a position to tell me as to how much time it would take for this repair job. Till today I have not received any information from the dealer about my laptop. I tried to complain at Toshiba India but they did not respond at all ! Can someone help me to expedite repair cases ?

        Toshiba Laptop — Very poor service backup

        I had given my laptop for repair to RT Solutions, Gurgaon. There was a problem with the display, the LCD inverter needed a change. The laptop was given on 23 Nov 08. The company told me that it will take 2-3 weeks for repair. Thereafter there was no news from them as they claim that they cannot make STD calls to info me about the progress. Thereafter, I called Toshiba office in Delhi on 26th Dec. They told me that the request for the part had come on 20 Dec and they had mailed the part on 26th itself. On checking back with RT on 27th Dec, they say that the part will only come next friday. The harrasment has been going on for quite some time now. What is the way out !!!
        I gave my Toshiba laptop for repair at Toshiba Service Center Mumbai December 08 (within Warranty Period). It was just a minor problem of "USB port not working".Its almost two months passed but my laptop is not yet repaired and given back to me. Everytime I call them they say that the parts not yet came from US and it will come within a week... in this way two months passed... pls advise how to lodge a complain against HCL who are providing service on behalf of Toshiba in India... its really very poor service in India... never evber buy any Toshiba product in India...

        Hi all,

        I too agree with the way Toshiba is handling their service. I bought a laptop D4010 which had problem started off with LCD and got it replaced and within a few days hard disk was out and got replaced. Then after a few days time again the replaced hard disk was gone and got it replaced. After a month or so my LCD had problem and its now in service center. All this happened within 3 months time period. I just wonder how a multinational company like Toshiba is having such products!!!. I too feel that toshiba products doesn't have any sort of quality and have guilty feeling about my Toshiba laptop purchase.

        Toshiba — DVD DRIVE IS NOT WORKING

        Sir I purchased my TOSHIBA SATELLITE L[protected] laptop from TECH MART B-1/624, FIRST FLOOR, JANAK PURI, NEW DELHI - 110058, dated[protected]. The very first day, when I opened my DVD Drive it was not working. When we compained the TECHMART AND TOSHIBA centre in green park extension, they were saying that DVD DRIVE NEED TO BE CHANGED and started demandind Rs 8000/- for changing it.
        Brief of my complaint is

        P.S> HCL service centre doesnt have any answer to our querries, not even proper system to search the database by Customer Name or Product name, quite disgusting in this E-age. We should go back to 19th century it seems
        Please let me know the process of solving the issue. I am also getting frustrated by this behaviour of HCL/TOSHIBA. Its purely harrassment and I will fight in court against them.
        Never ever buy Toshiba laptop in India. Toshiba people just pull their hands off once they sell you the laptop for srevice you have to depend on HCL which is totally carefree about toshiba laptop. My toshiba laptop is under repair for motherboard problem and past 6 months I have to call HCL again and again for updates no progress so far.

          I am highly DISSATISFIED with Toshiba's AFTER SALES SERVICE.
          I was quite happy when I bought my toshiba laptop and even recommended toshiba to my friends. But, after the extremely poor customer service, I have lost all my interest in the company and am sure not to buy any more of its products if I have an option.
          1. Previously, there used to be an option - Talk-2-Toshiba, where I used to put in my phone number and a Toshiba personnel would call me. That service has been discontinued in India, and instead it is required for us to call on a given number. The problem is that the given number can only be called via a landline. I only have a mobile and that number is not functional through mobiles.
          2. Somehow, I got across another number that can be called from a mobile as well. The service is extremely slow, and I had to call 3-4 times before I could be successfully transferred to a Toshiba personnel. As the number is not Toll-Free, I lost around Rs. 50 just to register my complaint.
          3. Toshiba personnel was friendly, but he had no technical knowledge. I told him that my laptop adapter wire had burnt due to overheating while my laptop was still in warranty. He told me that the adaptor would be covered under warranty and registered my complaint.
          4. When I visited the Toshiba-Chandigarh Customer Center, SCO 2453, Sec 22C, I received no attention. Inspite of being the only customer there, the personnel kept on doing his own work and addressed me after 15 minutes. He noticed my problem, registered the complaint and told me that it would take a minimum of 10 days for the new adpater to arrive from the headquarters.On inquiring about the facility of standby adapter that may be given to me as a substitute for the period of 10-15 days, I was told that there was no such option. This meant that I would loose a lot of my work.
          5. When I bought the laptop, I was told that the Toshiba service is one of the best in laptop industry, and if anything happens to the laptop, a standby laptop is provided for the specified duration until the old laptop is restored so I can resume my work. On having a problem, I was denied any such service.
          6. After 10 days, I called the Service center and enquired about my adapter. They told me that it had just arrived and I could go and collect it. On reaching there, I was told that my adapter had not arrived. When I told them about my phone conversation, they initially tried to tell me that I was mistaken and there phone was not working and I could not have called them. When I proved them wrong, they went in and told me that my adapter had actually arrived and it was they who had already called me for it.
          7. When I presented my broken adapter, they told me it was not covered under warranty. The personnel at Toshiba care whom I had called in point 2 above, had told me it would be covered under warranty. The personnel who took my complaint at the Chandigarh Center also filed the complaint under warranty. But, on the day when I had to collect my adapter, I was told that it would not be covered under warranty.
          8. The personnel at the Chandigarh center called the Head Office in Delhi, and the personnel at the head office tried to tell me that it was all my fault, that I should have known whether it was covered under warranty or not, and that I should have taken snapshots of the broken adapter to claim my warranty or otherwise. He told me that I would have to buy the adapter at a cost of Rs.6820 with a 3 months warranty. I told them that I would take the necessary steps later.
          9. I went to a shop and enquired about Toshiba Adapter. They were offering a new ORIGINAL Toshiba adapter at a cost of Rs.3600 with 1 year warranty. In the end, I decided to get the adapter repaired at the shop at a decent cost of Rs.400.
          It seems that the company produces decent products but does not care about the customer service. The personals at various checkpoints are not trained in any technical assistance, but it does seem that they are trained very well in lying and pushing the blame on the customer. Even, the Toshiba India website is very poorly designed and does not cover all the aspects as other well designed websites do.I had to browse through many pages just to find how to contact Toshiba via email.

          I had the same problem with my Satellite A300 which had a small damage on the screen for which when i contacted, they simply refused to repair for free. I had my warranty card too.Is it the problem of recession that is causing this downfall in the quality if its service. If yes, then all i have to say to Toshiba guys are, By the time recession goes and boom enters, then there wont be a comp-any called Toshibaaaaaa

          Toshiba — Toshiba p30 satellite laptop

          hey ppl,
          i had bought a p30 satellite laptop from the toshiba laptop guys, The shop that i purchased i from was Frontline computers in Khar, the sales man there had zero knowledge of computers, i kept on asking him, please tell me about the servicing facilities of this latop in india, just to sell it he said its good also some of the other information that he gave was false, to top the cream, the HCL ppl are taking care of the toshiba distribution in mumbai, further more when my laptop crashed i went to the service station of toshiba/hcl, they acted so indifferent, and inhuman, i waited for hours together, then i got summoned inside a shady cabin, with a man sitting in front of me, from the moment he started talking about computers, i knew that i know more, even though am zoology student, he told me to pay him 1000 odd Rs, as diagonistic charges, , i did and he asked me to call after three working days, later on i kept calling for more than 15 days in vain, then a lady picked up and in a typical government office format, completely disinterested she replied that i have to take my laptop bck, and that they cannot repair it, and that the diagonistic charges were not refundable, can u believe it, The laptop had cost me more than a lakh of Rs. so what ever you do do not buy a toshiba or an hcl computer. God help my country
          i my working on same toshiba laptop m300 model from last year...now it is giving problem with its battery stand up time and also with its dvd writer ...so i visited its dealer in jalandhar from whome i have purchased it.i was shocked that he just has disappeared from his place and no one know about him...now where should i go for its servicing as their is no trusty care centre in north india...please suggest me any care centre for toshiba...

          Toshiba Laptop — Adapter not replaced after over 1 month of submitting to the customer care

          I bought the laptop in November 2008.

          After having submitted the laptop and adapter for repair on 30th September 2009, I still haven't received a replacement for my adapter.

          I bought the extended warranty for 2 years for speedy repairs etc. But to my disappointment, I have been without a charger for 1 month now.

          Kindly take some action against the company
          It's really a very Bad service
          hi guys i have toshiba A80 for last 6 years and touchwood no probs at all, may be now company's standard has degraded;; I will advice to find out a better version instead for further use in laptoms and even tell some good information like phone numbers of shops and customer care numbers so others would get help. I am putting this information on January 14, 2010, because now after 6 years i am also in search of one good out-of-the company service provider for genuine toshiba hard disk and RAM.

          Toshiba — defective laptop

          After doing some research, i was impressed with R700 laptop from toshiba. even though international prices are lower, i paid 60,000 rs and collected one laptop from toshiba dealer by name Addict.

          on the first day itself, laptop hanged and i had to restart it . same problem persisted for several times next day.

          i went to toshiba, and they said they will look into the problem. now it is more than 15 days, and every day, sales rep tells me, laptop will come from service centre from tomorrow. they have refused to refund the money as they see no fault in laptop.

          even after choosing the best laptop at a cosiderable higher price, i have been put in trouble .

          Toshiba — Not honouring laptop guarantee

          I had bought a Toshiba laptop, Model-L510-D4311 on 29.12.2009. Recently I observed that almost 1/3rd portion on right side of the screen of laptop has become white with some portion in black at the bottom & nothing is visible in this portion. So I went to their service centre located at Nehru Place, N. Delhi. There I was told that the LCD has broken from inside & that this is not covered under the warranty. The screen is intact from outside.
          I wrote about this to Toshiba (thru their website) but there has not been any written reply from their side. They only called-up to tell me the same thing as told by their service centre that problem in screen is not covered under warranty.
          Here I would like to state the following:
          1. That the laptop was bought for about Rs 42,000/-, which is not a small amount (at least for me)
          2. That laptop is still under one year guarantee period
          3. That from outside the screen of the laptop is intact & if some problem has occurred, its within/inside the screen (as told by service centre) & is indicative of poor quality of the product
          4. That any problem in the laptop, during the guarantee period, is the responsibility of Toshiba
          In the pertinent case, where problem has come in the screen of the laptop, Toshiba seems to be telling the customer - I have sold the product & got the money from you. Now if there is any problem with the product, go to hell. Firstly they sell a poor quality product to the customer, which develops problem within the guarantee period itself. And instead of being apologetic about it & resolving the problem, they brazenly tell the customer that this part or that part of the product is not covered under the guarantee. Shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          processor fan not working

          processor fan is not working..
          I bought a Toshiba 8KG Auto Washing Machine AW-J900DM, in early 2020. Within 3 months of the purchase, I had some problem with some knocking noise which was identified and repaired. On 26 Apr I called the shop where I bought the machine for some issue ie, it started to show error message E7-1 with an alarm. The shop took down my complain and told me that within 3 working days the technician will come and attend to it. Mean time I tried to rectify it by Pressing the "Set" + "Preset" + "Course" as per the Owner's Manual but I failed in rectify it. Since there was no technician contacted me after 3 days, I called the shop again on 29 Apr.
          On 30 Apr, a technician called and came at 8pm to check on to the machine. He did the same procedure as per the manual to correct it but to NO rectification. Since it was a Friday, the technician informed me that he could only come again on Monday (3/5) BUT since no respond from him I called him to inquire. He explained that since there was no spare in the stock/available he was unable come and repair yet.
          After 3 days I called him again on 6/5, this time he promised to come the next day (7/5) morning since he got the spare. Later he sent a voice msg saying that he will come after 6pm. I waited for him since 5pm but he never turned up.
          May 10th, I called him again. No response.
          May 11th, I called him again. He promised to come in the evening but never turned up.
          Since it was Hari Raya then I did not disturb him, but I called him again (today) on 17th May. This time again he promised me that he will come in the evening. Waited until 8pm. Never turned up.
          When I called him at 8.17pm, again he said can only come the next day, since he does not have the spares. Then I asked him how he can promise me since 7th May, wanted to come to repair when he does not have the spares. Extremely poor service by this servicing company. Belaughing and Cheating that he can come but last-minute turn down to the promise. How many promises??? I am regret that Toshiba Service Centre does not have a system whereby first come first service!!! Aghhh!!!, my first report to shop where I bought the machine was on 26 Apr 2021 and to date is 17 May 2021, so late and slow service compared to some other companies that I have known for such a service. By delaying, such tactics, also makes my Warranty Period reducing/depleting. Very soon I won't have the chance of warranty period service!!!???
          I suspect that whenever he (the Service centre) obtains the spares from Toshiba, he goes around and repair machines which gives cash payments (instead of repairing the direct complainants) since they may have problems in claims from Toshiba. (It is just my assumption) That’s why the first day when I reported the case, he informed me the services that he provide other than just the washing machines. (side business!!!)
          I really feel regret for buying this product from Toshiba being an International Company. The service is unbecoming of an International company.
          Worst. Think twice before buying any Toshiba products!!!
          I will never buy anymore Toshiba products in future and I will inform all my friends and relatives NOT to go for Toshiba products.

            my laptop mother board was replaced and at that time modem was not fitted as the service engineer could not remove it from the defective mother board and told me remove it in office and fitback. that complaint is still pending since 4 months. now i have sound problem and proper sound is not coming making laptop non usable for palying movie, internet calls etc. pl arrange to atttned the call urgently. pl also look into the reasons for not attending the pending call and reasons of no foloow up by ur senior managers of pending complaints. the pending work is propperly endorsed by me on job cards. laptop sr no. is z7406879q, model-PSAF3L-0SR012 and under warranty.
            an early response to both my repair call and feedback for no follow of my earlier pending work.

            Toshiba — SOUND AND MODEM PROB.

            I Purchased a brand new toshiba laptop but after installation of the softwares i was shocked to know that there is no modem in the laptop which i was not informed. I was continously talking to the sales guy about using the modem and the fax software but either he too was unaware if the fact or was just making me fool for sales benefit. Also the sound output from the laptop is very low.

              We had bought a Toshiba Laptop ( Tecra A-6) with 3 years International warranty.
              Given for replacement of Mother board to HCL (Toshiba's authorized service centre) in Marol, Mumbai, since past 3 MONTHS. We have also spoken to Toshiba Head Office Delhi who is aware about the same.
              There is no single person to inform us the status of the repairs so far. We have sent repeated reminders by email, but all in vain. They are least bothered to revert. PLEASE DO NOT FALL PREY TO THIS COMPANY. THEY CANNOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF AFTER SALES SERVICE IN INDIA.
              I do agree with you. The Worst Service is provided by Toshiba..If there is any award for worst service provider we can definately no doubt give it to TOSHIBA.SO NEVER BUY a Toshiba laptop, VERY PATHETIC SERVICE BACK UP. LYING WITH MUMBAI (ANDHERI) SERVICE Center for more than a month.

                I brought a Tosiba laptop in April'08 with an one year international warrenty .
                Before 2 months (24th of Oct'08) all of the sudden it got a "Not Switching ON" problem, I visited the service centre here at HCL Infosystems Ahmedabad (Authorized Service Providers of Tosiba notebook). They said that PCB need to be replaced and will have to arrange it from abroad and it will take around 5 weeks.
                But till date inspite of repetative reminders and followup I have not got any positive feedback from the Service provider.

                By this poor services on part of company and service provider not only i lost the benefit of the opportunity cost incurred on the notebook but i also lost the benefit of after sale service by 2 months.
                I strongly recomend to company for not to extend their service across the world if they can't serve it to their user.

                  After one year 7 days the computer has stopeed working, the display is not coming, the i went to service center located in Noida..they told me that warranty has expired ..so u have to pay service charge...i paid one thousand six hundred eighty rupees..they recognised the problem as mother board has gone, , , , u have to replace it..it costa about 20, 000 rs.i spended 40, 000 for purchasing the how can i spend 20, 000 that to they are not considering the extension of warranty for that...this is not the proper customer service...how can we believe after exactly this happens means..some thing may happens in future also..so i requested the toshiba companyto provide good service

                    I had purchased a Protege Toshiba Laptop from the aurthorized Toshiba dealer at Nehru Place, New Delhi. Within two months of the purchase the adapter of the laptop failed. On notifying the dealer, one Mr Amit of the Toshiba showroom at Nehru place in New Delhi, of this issue he promptly laid off his hands of it and diverted me to take up the issue with the service center. He even advised me to raise a consumer court case against Toshiba on me telling him of the poor after sales service at Toshiba. On approaching the service center they said that they would forward the complaint to some office of Toshiba. Ever since i have been waiting for some response from them and have been following up relentlessly without any success. Toshiba has no care of the customer after selling the product and once there is some problem with the laptop and in case some emergency files are stuck in the hard drive of the laptop expect no help from Toshiba and till the time of their mercy we have to just keep following up and visiting their offices begging them for some assistance.

                    Toshiba after service and customer supports is disgusting and sucks badly. I would never advice anyone to buy Toshiba laptop. They are basically not keen in giving service to their customer. People who are associated with them like HCL are even worse. There is no sync in between them. Global support people will ask you to login call with them and service centre people wouldn't even be aware of any such call. They are so pathetic that they can't even arrange laptop common parts like battery. And Toshiba doesn't have any means by which you can buy parts on your own.

                      I purchased Toshiba-Portege M600 note book (Serial no. 97049000W) under 3 year global extended warranty from HCL Infosystems Ltd., Hyderabad on 3rd June 2008.

                      On 3rd Sep 08, while doing my usual work on notebook, suddenly inner layer of LCD screen broken. There was no damage to outer layer of LCD screen.

                      I registered complaint no. 1#[protected] on 4th Sep 08 with Toshiba customer care. As suggested to me, I sent my notebook to service centre of HCL at Jaipur (I reside in Jodhpur). The service centre effortlessly blamed 'mishandling' as cause of damage and demanded Rs. 26000/- towards cost of replacing LCD screen.

                      I taken up the matter with Toshiba and HCL via e-mail/fax and asked for investigation to find out the cause of damage. Practically, there was no mishandling to note book and there is no sign of physical damage to LCD screen as well as to body of note book. I wanted from TOSHIBA to find out the cause by technical investigation and assured to pay gracefully if any mishandling proved.

                      But HCL concluded the matter with saying " We cannot replace FOC as TIPL will not approve" and Toshiba concluded saying mishandling of notebook as cause of damage without any technical investigation of note book.

                      As per their communications, I understand that LCD replacement is subject to approval of Toshiba, not subject to the cause of damage. TOSHIBA is not willing for technical investigation and effortlessly blame mishandling as cause of damage.

                      What I request is for technical investigation of notebook as there are so many other reasons responsible to break LCD screen while you work. If mishandling is proved, I will bear the cost gracefully.

                      The attitude of Toshiba Corporation towards resolving defect is worst experienced.

                        I had purchased a Toshiba Laptop about a month ago and I paid close to Rs. 40, 000 for it. The battery barely lasted 1.5 hours and before gaving up. Constant and persistent calls to the company representatives yieled me a alledgedly 'new' battery. This was 2 days ago. Today the battery is dead and the machine refuses to boot. The Toshiba Regional Manager in Mumbai simply says he cant help me. I leave for the UK in 5 days for further studies. I am stuck with a third rate machine from an uncaring company.

                            I bought a new Toshiba Portage M800 laptop. I had to log a complaint that the keyboard and touchpad of the laptop are heating.
                            I have tried all other brands and non other than Toshiba generates this amount of heat. It has already been three week since we bought the laptop and I am keeping it idle waiting for the response. Bought the laptop from Tiny Laptops Chennai.

                              This is regarding TOSHIBA refrigerator bought by us in the month of November 2007. Purchase details are given below:

                              We faced the problem of no cooling due to accumulation of ice in the motor of the refrigerator since very first week of Purchase. Several calls were lodged for same but no help was extended from Toshiba customer service for acceptable solution on same. Technical persons attended to calls but didn’t help with accurate solution.

                              We even took a step further and escalated the matter to Mumbai office
                              to Mr.Paramjeet ([protected]), who handed over the case to Mr.Govindan ([protected]). Every detail was told to Mr. Govindan by my husband Mr.Ashish Sahni at length but no help was extended by him.
                              Rather with repeated reminders by us he got back with fictitious explanation of default due to fluctuation problem which was absolutely deplorable as we have 100% power back with proper stabilizers in place. In earlier conversation he had agreed to design problem in the refrigerator and later he denied the same upfront. Mr. Govindan was very uncouth with my husband during the conversation and same has been recorded by us.

                              Same matter was escalated to Mr. Pranab Mohanty (Country Sales Head-India) but no help was extended from his end as well. They all again came up with false reports as stated earlier.

                              This kind of service and disrespectful behaviour is not accepted from
                              a valued brand like Toshiba.

                              Hope to get help from your end at earliest.

                              I think Kay Dee Electronics sell some defective appliances as new.
                              Bought a 428 litres LG frig for 32, 000 and it was DOA (dead on arrival).
                              Beware appliance buyers. - I purchased a new Toshiba TV, washing machine, and refrigerator in Mumbai with warranties. Have had broblems with all three, Toshiba technichians were reluctant to respond to problem calls when I stated appliances were covered under warranty. When techs finally did come out, a lot of excuses were given as to what was covered under the warranty.
                              Getting the TV fixed was the worst problem. When the Toshiba tech took the TV to the shop after not being able to fix it, I didn't see it again for over two months, the manager of the Toshiba shop made every excuse under the sun... the part is not immediately available, the part is being shipped by boat, the TV was sent to another Toshiba service centre in Delhi, etc, etc. The kicker was when the Toshiba manager told us to stop bothering him. After giving up (that's what they want you to do) and demanding the TV be returned, I took it to Satyam, they fixed it in one day.

                                The incidence occurred with me on Saturday, 14th July 2007, Time between 6.45 AM to 7.00 AM I have to drop my relative at Taj Express, so I went to ticket’s window to buy platform ticket after waiting, my turn came. Window officer suggested me to buy a platform ticket from down stairs (the place where we did get tickets earlier). The board was displayed “PLAT FORM TICKET YAHA MILATE HAI “ but another board was displayed “WINDOW CLOSED”. I asked to Mr. K. S. MEENA who sat at the middle window (That time there were no passenger at the window). I asked him why this window is closed he said “MUJHE NAHI PATA PLAT FORM TICKET UPSTAIRS SE MILENGA I said I already tried but they say that I will get from down stairs only.) he rudely behaved and said MUJHE KYA PATA ABE UDHAR CHALA JAA YAHA KYO KHADA HAI YAHA PER PLATE FORM TICKET NAHI MILTA’ and I heard he repeatedly abusing me till I went away from the place. I was stunned to see such kind of behavior.

                                Now you can under stand after going up and down wards twice thru the stairs, and such an answer received from rail way’s proud officer Mr. K. S. MEENA.

                                It took me about 15 minutes but all efforts gone in to vain. Than I look forward to Dy Superintendent station’s, cabin which is just left hand side of entry gate but no body was there, I was in a dilemma situation whether to go in side? Or no to go inside the plat form?

                                I tried to request to police officer and explained my problem and lack of time, he suggested me to go and drop my relative and came thru this gate only so he can recognize me and I did the same.

                                I would request to honorable minister kindly do need full and take necessary action against this officer and intimate me by return fax.

                                Thanks to the police officer who had really helped me.

                                  I bought a new toshiba laptop. its under warranty. some pixel ofthe screen(damaged), keyboard(keys not working), and battery(backup) cd drive are not
                                  properly.i went to service station, i was shocked that instead of fixing the problem i was told that only battery will be replaced and screen will not be replaced as it 's not fully damaged, and key board they say only few keys are not functioning so they will not replace it instead they offered me to buy a 2yrs extended warrantyfor 6500/- rupees .This is an example of worst cst service i have ever experienced, i was also told that i can do what ever i feel like they r not going to change the damaged parts leaving no optionfor me either than going to consumer forum.i collected money for whole 2 yrs to buy this laptop and now wth this kind of attitude from a big company like toshiba and their cst ser is provided by HCL-----all i can say is i am hurt and planning to move to court----lets hope for the best

                                  Sir, In my laptop tosiba satalite DVD-RW not warking.It showing driver problam.
                                  Within 3 months of purchasing TOSHIBA Portege M600 Notebook from HCL (under 3 year extended global warranty for which extra money is paid), inner layer of LCD screen broken while doing usual work, without any mishandling.

                                  When I contacted service centre of TOSHIBA at JAIPUR (HCL Infosystems Ltd), they asked to pay Rs. 26, 000/- towards cost of replacing LCD. I contacted HCL and TOSHIBA, requested for technical investigation of notebook to find the cause of damage (LCD screen may be broken by technical defects also).

                                  HCL concluded the matter saying " FOC replacement is subject to approval of TOSHIBA". Toshiba concluded the matter saying “mishandling as cause of damage without any technical investigation of notebook". Toshiba is not interested to find out the cause of damage as they are prejudice.
                                  I am software engineer in pune.
                                  I purchased a laptop of toshiba from US. But it has some battery problem. every time i need to clean that battery then it starts. As it is in warrenty period, I went to Toshiba service centre in pune. But service is so poor. firstly the man at centre said it has RAM problem so i will demand for that. But the problem was same as previous. Then he said we need to check mother Board. Now i am calling every day to ask status they are not Picking the phone. I am staying too far from that centre.

                                  Toshiba laptop service is one of the worst service. I am waiting for three months to change my screen. My laptop has under international warrenty, but still i am waiting.
                                  I completely agree with you on the attitude Toshiba, rather HCL - India Has towards their customers. You are lucky that atleast you got a reply, we have given our laptop for repairs since past 4 months and we yet do not have any reply nor we know the status. We have experience the same from Bombay HCL and they have clearly said" Do wat you want" we are not in a position to inform you the staus as of now.
                                  I really fail to understand what is a company like Toshiba upto having HCL as their service partners in India when they have innumerous complaints for the service back up. can some advise how to reach our voices to Toshiba headoffice customer care department.?????
                                  I have also experienced such disgusting and worst ever after sales service by Toshiba coupled with unprofessional attitude by their service provider M/S HCL Infosystems Ltd, Marol Naka, Mumbai.

                                  I had purchased laptop model SATA 100 Sr.No.57089401Q in June 07’ from their reputed authorized dealer and further paid extra amount of Rs.7, 865/- towards additional 2yrs warrantee pack.

                                  From Oct 08’ the laptop has been under repairs for problems associated with over heating of charger leading to stoppage of its functioning as well as frequent over heating of the entire laptop screen/body. After replacement of the fan motor, while testing, weird prints were coming on the screen signaling internal stress cracking of the screen. Though the cause is clear cut due to frequent over heating of the screen as well as the faulty charger, the HCL service center has refused replacement under warranty under pretext that such internal cracking could also occur due to mishandling. All efforts to justify that there has been no mishandling or damage whatsoever to their engineer incharge & service chief Mr.Jitendra Mishra at Mumbai, except for the assurances that the matter will be investigated & if necessary referred to the principles M/s Toshiba for technical scrutiny & advise to establish the exact cause, have not yielded any action from him.

                                  The service provider has refused to respond to several calls & even to acknowledge several emails sent to them including their head of service located at their headquarters in U.P.

                                  I wonder how to go about further to get the justice from their principles M/s Toshiba.

                                  I have a Toshiba laptop which I had bought more than a year back, it worked great and was everything I wanted from a laptop.
                                  But around 4 months back, the sound stopped working. Not only that, the laptop started getting hot around the region where the sound card was located. Since my laptop was in the warranty period then, I took it to the HCL Infosystems servicing centre in Pune at VimanNagar in Feb 2009 (Since Toshiba has a tie up with HCL for servicing it's laptops).
                                  I was advised to keep the laptop at the centre for inspection, and since then my troubles with Toshiba's After service has started.

                                  At the centre, I was told that since there was a problem with the soundcard, it would be replaced free of cost, and it would take around a week for the part to arrive.
                                  That was in Feb 2009. It's now been 4 months and my laptop has still to get it's sound card replacement. Not only that, the employees at the centre (who don't bother picking up phones) are extremely slow and ill mannered with the way they talk to their customers. They do not bother calling you or mailing you of any status updates.
                                  The first time I left my laptop at the centre, there was a mark on my screen (caused by a pen) and the left side of my laptop, just above the USB drive was cracked.

                                  Since I have visited the centre umpteen time now, I have interacted with their other customers also having laptops belonging to HCL and Toshiba. Their stories are the same as mine. Delayed servicing, rude employees who make them wait forever and multiple trips to the centre, just for getting their laptops fixed.

                                  All this, because Toshiba couldn't make a laptop that does not fail in it's warranty period. I've been made to run around, trying to fix my laptop for around 4 months now, and it's getting really tiring, especially, if you have a job.

                                  Not only that, last week, when I went to the centre, I was told that the soundcard had indeed arrived and I had to send them my laptop, but in the afternoon, I get a call from the centre saying, that the sound card that they had was of the wrong type for my laptop. Here, I wait for 4 month to get my laptop fixed, and they cannot even get the part right.

                                  My advice to any potential Laptop buyer in India: Avoid Toshiba and HCL if you value aftersales support, especially after seeing the pathetic kind of service that they provide at the service centre in VimanNagar.

                                  My only wish was that I had found this site earlier and avoided a costly mistake with Toshiba India.

                                  Thanks a lot all of you guys for posting the above comments. It helped me to avoid buying a Toshiba laptop. I m looking towards other options like Dell, HP etc who offer better after-service.

                                  2 years back when it had some issues(actually very big) I gave it to Chennai HCL Service center. Within a weak I got the laptop with new mother board and everything running fine. And we paid nothing as it was under warrenty period.
                                  Now I am in pune. I am facing some other minor problems. Which I am not able to fix. I thought of giving it to the HCL service center. but reading your comments. I decided not to give my laptop to them and going to use with the issues. If I have time I will give this in Chenai or Bangalore If I am able to visit them…

Before I re-install Windows on my laptop (Satellite Pro A200-EZ2204X, iwl3945 wlan chipset) I had Fedora 10 installed as my only operating system. I was able to see that everything was working OK expect the wireless.



                                  After many attempts to install it, I decided to test Windows just for wireless; if my attempt was again a failure I would return it back to my reseller.



                                  The error message I get from windows is this: "Wireless communication is disabled. Please turn on the Wireless communication switch."



                                  I had tried applications like ConfigFree, as well Microsoft's Wireless Network Connection. When I press fn-F8 it does absolutely nothing!

                                  We all have common thing harassed by Toshiba India Laptop let me tell you my story I bought Toshiba laptop by 23 Dec, 2011 then dealer of Toshiba Computronix Gomti Nagar did not tell me he is giving me laptop with dos setup and loaded pirated window then after a use of few hour my window got corrupted then I went to dealer again down loaded window and said to install some antivirus then I installed again after the use of few hours windows got corrupted when I went to dealer ship, he told me he would take Rs. 300/- for downloading windows, then I contacted Toshiba book complaint they refer to Lucknow Service centre when I went there lady open my system that was working even the Toshiba was on screen when I submitted my laptop at service centre and came back to my office I receive call from them your bio is protected and provide bio password but I never bio protected even I don’t know how to protect I told them then I went to dealer ship they said they have not made bio protected and they don’t know password now I have forwarded at least four to five mails to customer care of Toshiba no reply is there and when I called up service centre no body entertain now you suggest me what to do.
                                  Should I file case against Toshiba for cheating, mantel harassment and loose of money and time of me?

                                  I had lodged this complain to Toshiba customer care in June. 15 days no information from the customer care. after 15 days when i called them they told me that you will get a new TV. After 1 week i called them they told me we have initiated a refund for the case. Manpreet is a person who deals with all the refunds he told me call on Tuesday i.e 10th of April but he is not receiving my call. Got a call from charu jaiswal she told me to give the confirmation on Tuesday. She is also not receiving my call. And i had mailed customer care for 20 times. Charu is not responding on the same mail.

                                  Please suggest me what should I do.
