I used Uber cab on July 3rd 5:40 AM from Bangalore International Airport to my Home in Judicial Layout Bangalore, the tariff reflected was 636.6 rupees, break up Trip fare- 397.35, Tolls, Surcharges and fees 239.25.
The Uber cab driver took an alternate route behind the airport to avoid Toll fee payment, please note that the uber driver took the alternate route which skipped toll plaza/booth to avoid toll payment and dropped me my home, during payment i was not able to verify the receipt as the app was stating temporary issue to retrieve the receipt and asked me try after sometime, when i asked the driver he responded stating that his billing machine is off and he cannot get me the receipt and asked me to verify and pay as per the estimated amount which i did.
my complaint is about paying for toll plaza when toll plaza or toll payment route was not taken by the driver.
i reached out to Uber on the app and raised my issue but Uber responded back to me without understanding the issue i'm reporting and stated that fee paid by me is right, however when pointed out at the price charged as toll charges they ignored me.
as i use Uber frequently during my US trips, i was appalled at their response.
i did request Uber to understand my issue however by their responses and ignorance they made me feel like a stupid person this has caused lot of emotional stress and also i'm afraid about my security while taking Uber as Uber does not seem to be aware of the roads their drivers take.
this is a breach of customer faith and poses high risk for customers, especially with the increase in amount of crimes for people using taxi services like uber, i would like to formally complaint on Uber on the customer safety and the extra fee they have charged me when the toll payment road was not used by the driver
