I booked an uber cab at mumbai domestic airport at uber booking counter at about 6 pm on 24th march. While booking, i gave the person at the counter, my full address, complete with the near by landmarks. (Evertop appartments, azad nagar, andheri west, mumbai).
I did not receive any message on my mobile. So i was given the car no. And mobile no. Of the driver and as suggested, i phoned and met the taxi driver at the pick up point and got in.
When we entered jogeshwari area, which is beyond andheri, i was surprised, but kept to myself thinking that the direct, shorter route may be closed for repairs. After about 1.5 hours, he told me that he had arrived at the destination. When i told him that this was not the address i had given at the booking counter, he showed me the destination sent to him on his mobile, which merely showed andheri west. Further he asked me to get down since he had received a call for a new customer and was required to fetch him.
he then asked me to pay ₹460 (Which i paid to him) which was way more than the ₹220 showed to me at the airport. Moreover, after leaving the taxi, it was very difficult to find even an auto. What with my aged mother in law with me as also the luggage, i had to call my brother in law from evertop appartments who then came to pick me up
To summarize, the following points occurred,.
1. I did not get the message on my phone at the airport.
2. As learnt later, the driver was given the wrong address of my destination.
3. This lead him to take a wrong, longer route.
4. This resulted in my reaching home after 2 hours, a distance which is normally covered in 45 minutes even considering the evening traffic.
5. I had to miss my scheduled program that evening.
6. I was charged ₹460 as against the ₹220 told at the booking counter.
Considering the above, i request you to refund the full fare charged to me.

I consider uber a world class company, and have travelled with uber a couple of times earlier too, but never had such an experience. I therefore expect uber to refund the full fare charged to me. Further i also expect uber to take necessary measures to avoid similar incidences with any other passengers in future.
Uber India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
