I scheduled a ride for 1st may 2019, 4:45 am. I scheduled this ride the previous night - on 30th april night. The ride was cancelled by uber and a notification on the app was sent to me at 4:35 am on 1st may 2019, saying that there is a payment issue. I could not understand how can a ride be cancelled just 1 min before teh scheduled departure. I had a train to catch for my vacation for 5 days.
I wrote about this issue through the "help" on the uber app. A execute, sweety, called me and told me that the ride was cancelled by uber and cancelled by me on 30th april night itself. I did not agree to that, so she wrote the same on the message on the app and asked me to even pay for the cancellation charge. - second problem - fudging the data and lying to customer.
I did not agree to message also and sent her a reply. Then again in few minutes another executive, bharat called me. When i explained him the entire episode and he checked the data again. He confirmed it to me that the ride was cancelled by uber due to paytm issue. Because your driver partner did not want paytm as payment option. I asked him to escalate this issue as he told me that nothing is in his hand and he could not help me out with this. He got me rahul (Supposedly sme) on the line. He again repeated the similar story what sweety told me. When i confronted him that your own employee has confroted him to get bharat on the same line and do a conference call. He refused arrogantly and showed the weight of his higher designation by saying that whatever he tells will be the final words and bharat words will not be counted. I countered and told him i can not agree to this. He sent me a message again on the similar line what sweety sent me and tried to close it. I did not agree and again i sent him a message showing him my disagreement. Questioned about the data integrity, data protection and fraud against customer.
All these conversations happened on 5th may 2019. And after my final message i did not receive any reply.
My simple questions here are -
1. How was the data on scheduling, cancelling of my ride has been altered. And there was no mail on my email id was sent in this regard. Its a clear case of fudging the data.
2. Where is the data protection policy o[censored]ber. There should be all the data and call records with uber. Some how everything is missing or deleted or altered. What is the policy regarding that?
3. What are your policies for fraud against a customer? Because this is a clear case of fraud. Evasion of data has been done to clear the case and get rid of any kind of liability.
I request you to address my question and provide the resolution to my grievance.
This issue is probably not just for me. This could be happening with so many customers because this is related to data privacy, protection and fraud.
