Hello,

I am complaining in regards to the mobile number [protected]. A sports pack was activated by Vodafone on this mobile number without my knowledge and consent. I am being charged Rs. 3per day for it. When I realised that on the first day, I called vodafone and they told me that they were sorry about it and would deactivate the service within 24 hours, would refund the 3rs and I would not be charged again. The next day I again got charged. I called them again (spending money because customer service is no longer tollfree). And they told me that they would strictly look into the matter, register a complaint and the service would be deactiavted within 24 hours and I would be refunded the money (Rs 3). The next day someone from Vodafone called up and confirmed that the service has been deactivated and the amount has been cancelled. I did not bother about that and after 2 weeks I see that I am still charged Rs. 3per day everyday the whole of 2 weeks and the service was never deactivated. I called customer service and they hung up on me. I again called. They said they would deactivate the service within 24 hours but they cannot refund the amount. I requested for a supervisor and I was kept on hold for 20 minutes. I called again. This time I got through a supervisor. The supervisor told me that the service was not deactivated so they would deactivate it but he could not refund the amount. Which in other words mean "we are sorry, we cheated you, but cannot do anything about it". I asked him why he could not refund when I called them 3 times and asked them to deactivate. To my shock, they said because I activated it. (which I have not done). If I ask for records, they have none. They do not have call records or documentation of anything. Then to my surprise the So called Supervisor says that it was my mistake because I had to deactivate it from my end (never before I was told this, not even by the same supervisor when I asked him to deactivate the service.) I asked for a Manager, He refused. So I would like to get some kind of compensation regarding this.

    Hi,

I have been a Vodafone subscriber in Mumbai for over 4 years, and have never delayed or defaulted on paying my dues. However, when I recently applied to another operator for MNP from Vodafone to XYZ operator, I was shocked to get an SMS from Vodafone that the request to port-out has been rejected due to “contractual obligations”. On checking with their Customer Care (who had a different tone for subscribers wanting to Port-out) was told that the “Contractual Obligations” in my case referred to some free minutes included in my Tariff Plan. I found it very strange, as the Tariff Plan I have opted for is a standard one, listed on their website and available to any other Vodafone subscriber. Hence, I really didn’t see any reason for Vodafone to stall my Port-out request on such frivolous grounds. Despite taking it up with their Customer Care several times, each time I only get a new Request No. with an assurance that the issue will be resolved within 48 hours. I am yet to have this issue resolved, before I approach the XYZ operator once again to migrate my Vodafone number to their network. Have spoken with the Vodafone Nodal Officer’s office, but am yet to get their response to this issue.

I would like to know from experienced & knowledgeable persons what recourse do subscribers like myself have, if existing operator doesn’t allow Port-out on frivolous grounds. Does TRAI offer any solution to this issue, which it would have ideally expected from big players (who would have expected many of their subscribers to Port-out, while welcoming Port-ins with open arms !!) ? I would appreciate responses to my complaint which are actionable. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Ramesh

    Hi All,

I think all o[censored]s most lodge a complaint at this location http://www.pgportal.gov.in/Grievance.aspx as mentioned in one of the threads above. Looks like TRAI was interested in only rolling the MNP out but was not interested in ensuring that it is being implemented properly. So, currently the only way out is to register all our complaints in the above link. Our only hope.

    Dinesh.
Thanks Dinesh. But, being a govt website am not sure anyone even reads such individual complaints, let alone act on them. However, for my satisfaction, have posted my grievance as above, just in case some govt official does read my post and surprises me with some action. Thanks for sharing the link.

I also checked on TRAI website for grievance redressal for consumers, but being a toothless-tiger TRAI by itself can't take any action against any operator. Hence, it has in its policy documents only mentioned of approaching Customer Care, then Nodal Officer, and finally Appellate Authority of concerned telecom operator. But, since the entire industry seems determined to sabotage the govt's MNP policy - albeit for its own survival - it is hardly expected of any operator to facilitate the process of porting-out for existing subscribers, which is envisaged by the MNP Policy in letter and spirit.

To me it appears that the MNP policy of the govt is yet another "legal provision" for public which they can't benefit from without cooperation from concerned quarters. Also, it seems TRAI did not anticipate such unprofessional behaviour from telecom operators, who would go to any extent to stall their subscribers' efforts to migrate out of their network. The only viable option seems to close the account with current operator and take a new connection from the preferred operator (whom we intended to migrate to) - something we could have done before the MNP regime anyway.

I have purchased the mobile in which 2GB data downloading is free for 3 months. Despite of recurrent communications vodafone had not activated the services and my balance got deducted every time I am using the net.
I have asked the customer care executives about 4 times regarding the same issue but there line is always not working and there is hardly any assistance from there side. So Please help me that they can refund back the amount which is inappropriately deducted from my account.

          hi,
On saterday i took one vodafone post paid number?([protected])and paid Rs 500 (250 for activation and 250 deposit).
i have been told that on next day sunday my verification will take place and by monday connection will be active, but my verfication took place on wednesday morning 8.30 am, and then i come to know that simcard which was issue to me was dummy , just for sales and i will get a new simcard, so that vodafone center hold me as a client for few day till they get the new card for me, its being 4 days till now they dont active my number and when i call to Customer care , they say will check and get back in on working day.
I need to understand that after paying money and verification check positive also, why my number is not active.
Why i have been given a dummy sim card,
Why i should wait for 5 day when it can be done in 2 working, and why i pay for all vodafone mistake in terms of time.

I think the TARI will also not be effective in same course of action, but for try basis am writing to tari , els will look the same to ministry of telecom ,delhi,
for any feed back one can get back to me on , i dont know , if i should trust on this tari people.

Vodafone is advertising FREE 3G. In their adds they have not specified that the service is available in only some cities or areas. The only thing they write is "SMS 3G" to 111 to try free 3G.

Millions of people send the SMS. Which is NOT Toll Free! Money is deducted from account and the reply received is

"Vodafone 3G Service is not available in your town"

Imagine the amount to money the company is making by getting people to send text messages every now and then just to see if 3G arrived in their town!

Vodafone is cheating people and making money! Arrest them or something!!

In regretful words i want to say that i am a customer of vodafone orissa/odisha from last november 2011 and currently i am in bangalore for 2 and half months. My mobile is in roaming and i am not using it from november 2012 and my available balance was Rs.160. Today 18/01/2013 i notice that my account balance is reducing automatically and when checked i was so shocked to see that some unwanted services are automatically activated like caller tunes for Rs.107=99+7+1 which i never requested for.

When i contacted the customer care they replied me that there was a problem with their system so that they are unable to check what was the exact problem. So my question is who is going to activate a caller tune for Rs.99/30days as Bollywood hit suffle in this costly world. I mean i am very conscious about my mobile usage and also I am in roaming and no body going to call to my this number...

The exact message to my no-[protected] is
              Sent by- Happy2Help
Message body- Super hit bollywood shuffle has been set as your caller tunefor all at rs99/30days.The shuffle service will get renewed on[protected]. To deactivate callertune call 22622(tollfree) or send CAN CT to 111/144.

I request to get my money back. I want my deducted money back for which i didn't request ever as the no is in roaming.

Automatic Balance deduction Under the hood of "Auto Renewal"

I had low balance so i thought of recharging my mobile with 36 Rs Sms pack, 1 day before the autorenewal date, and my validity of sms got extended one month as expected, but after recharging my mobile with 130 Rs again a deduction of 36 was done by Vodafone.

When i reached the customer service representative of Vodafone (all the 3 of them were unsupportive ) and said a refund is not possible, and they cant even "carry forward " the plan !

He said on calling this number, the branch manager will help me in receiving the winning amount in cash.

I Ms Rasika Jadhav want to disconnect my postpaid no ([protected]) as I am not satisfied with scheme services offered to me. I was offered 299 double value pack but after my first itemised bill i noticed that extra charges were applied to my bill, also I registered a complaint for the same. My connection was barred in between due to exceed of credit limit which i was unaware of & was ask to pay the amount within 2 hours after getting sms that "Your credit limit has been exceed, Please pay the amount as soon as possible", In this message no duration was stated, I came to know from the customer service when i called them & asked them why was my connection disconnected they told me "that the bill has to be payed within 2 hours, Which was not possible.
I am a Vodafone Customer from past 5 years and I am very disappointed with your services, as this is the first time i am having such complaints. In March I used the connection about 10 days and your company charged me for bill of Rs 1100 & above, which also had some extra charges and on top of that you issued me a legal notice after such nonsense also, I have payed the bill of Rs 1840 on 10/05/2011 at Bandra (West) Vodafone Store the recipt no is (KMDD[protected]) & transction ID (MBD[protected]). Here after I will not pay any bill issued to me as I am not using the connection from past 1.1/2 months.
So, Kindly disconnect my no ([protected]).

I have registered for data plans and 3G service. I just checked my unbilled amount and it showed a lot. I called up vodafone customer care and they had no idea about the amount. If the vodafone staff cannot guide the customers about the unbilled amount then should not mention the unbilled amount as it keeps the customer guessing what the actual bill amount will come like.

I have registered for data plans and 3G service, is a free of cost. I just checked my unbilled amount and it showed a lot within a week, also they have stopped my outgoing facility asking me to pay 5900/-. Normally my bill amount will not exceed Rs.600/-. I called up vodafone customer care and they are saying the same to pay the amount. Already I was using VMC corporate plan which unlimited internet access, while asking about 3g in customer care, they confirmed that 3g a free service, will not charge extra, the charges will remain same as your current dataplan. But, now they are saying 10paise/ for kb. for downloading and browsing. I want to say one thing already I am having unmilited internet access on VMC plan, then why I have to pay for internet access via this 3g, also the amount is a huge, its making the customers fool. If the vodafone staff cannot guide the customers about the 3g while activation, how come they calculate the unbilled amount as it keeps the customer guessing what the actual bill amount will come like.
I am having the same Issue. They disconnect my outgoing stated that-My un-billed amount exceed the credit limit and I need to pay 10000 Rs. whereas my normal internet changes does not exceed 600 Rs p.m. They also told me that I'll get discount on Bill Generation day and I only need to pay 1250 Rs. the Plan I have taken ( unlimited access 5 GB). They are fooling people by misguiding them and harassing them.
                      Hello Nishant,

I have the same problem. I just activated my unlimited BB plan and the unbilled amount shot up to 8000 in 5 days which is ridiculous cos I haven't used any of their services THAT much. IT should be max 700 or 800. When I called them up they said the amount will reduce during billing. Can you tell me what happened with your case? Did it reduce??

                      Thanks for your help,
                      Mridula.

i have shared the below conversation with vodafone nodal officer with mail.but no support response given me through mail.everytime they contacted me through phone conversation
one day finally he denied me support and get myself migrated to another service provider.

I had called the customer care on date 13/12/2010 for migrating to postpaid from prepaid…
After dealing with the executive he gave me a secret code. He said you will be receiving SIM card on your address and you can pay him the money when he shares the common secret code with you. Next day the person came and gave me new SIM and the same secret code and took 350rs from me later when I contacted the Vodafone store I was being told that I am cheated so it’s my request to take action against him and get me my reversal. He gave me a new card also SIM card no is[protected]H5)
I had been told that it’s bogus by Mr. Shankar Gajre Mr. Siddhesh veknande. Mr. Abdul Razzak Lodhia. At Vodafone store Jogeshwari (west) Aisha tower.

I have confirmed from MR.SHRAVAN TIVARI that the gift voucher of RS350 is not any more in the scheme from Vodafone but I have confirmed on from 9 to 12 of December from the Vodafone care executive that scheme is available m getting confused that how this could happen in such a vast corporation. But now also MR.SHRAVAN TIVARI is confirming that he will send me a gift personally if I want, I don’t want any gift but just wanna clear my doubt about the misconversation.i m trusting Vodafone but m not satisfy with this .the main aim of any corporation is to satisfy the customer n if they fail to satisfy then how could the corporation run smoothly just wannna say that how this could happen.

But now from Sun 27th March, 2010 morning, they have blocked my outgoing calls stating some special subsciption is required. Even there toll free 111 I cannot dial and ask When by my freind's number I called customer care and ask, they told you need to transfer from 2G to 3G mode4 compulsorily. I told I am outstation and cannot submit any document regarding it now and to give me temporary permission of two days, he told okay but not given. I was not even given any prior call or sms on this regard and suddenly they closed my outgoing. I had even Rs 175 bal left. I have only one phone and sim to access, Its a great difficulty. I want them to pay for the pain and suffering I bear because of no fault of mine.

                                Dear Vodafone Officers,

                                Good morning!

As per your following advice, I went on 26 March 2011 at 2.45 PM to East of Kailash Vodafone Office and met Mr Waseem and Mr Manoj. In my presence they have sent email to the concerned section to activate my plan from pre to post paid. They have also assured me that I will be receiving a call within 2 hours on 26 March 2011 and my plan will be activated on Sunday.

Regret to inform you that till now neither I have received any call nor my plan has been changed. Still I am using my prepaid card and now balance is almost exhausted and not recharging the same as I have requested for post paid.

In view of the above, you are requested to kindly activate the same immediately else I will approach the higher authorities.

                                Thanks and regards.

                                Dear Vodafone Officers,

                                Good Morning!

On 13 March 2011 I went to your Sant Nagar, New Delhi branch to change
my plan from Pre to Post Paid and filled Customer Agreement Form No.
82693439, also deposited Rs. 500 as security amount for the plan. This
was assured by your representative Mr Sameer that:

                                1. My plan will be activated within 48 hours after getting
confirmation and enquiry from the company.
                                2. Rs. 250 will be adjusted in my first bill.

This is to inform you that till date neither I have received any call
from your company nor my plan has been changed. Still I am using my
pre-paid SIM. I have already received post paid SIM.

In view of the above you are requested to kindly activate my post paid
plan by today evening otherwise you are forcing me to change my
                                operator.

                                Thanks for your understandings.

                                Regards.

My mother(prepaid no [protected]) bought a Rs.30 voucher of vodafone on 21st of March 2011 which had the offer of having ISD calls at Rs.2.25 but when my mother called to UK this week she observed that the call rate was same as normal. She went to a vodafone store there they promised a solution but eventually did nothing. This is very harassing for a big telecom giant like the Vodafone.
