Till date the matter is unresolved, when I have clearly indicated to Vodafone that I am willing to pay the regular monthly bill amount of Rs 750 odd or so...
Vodafone called and is now asking me to pay Rs. 2000/- against my usual bill of Rs. 780/- for a mistake they made. I cannot fathom how shamelessly a company of that size can operate asking it's customers to pay for their mistakes, Secondly they pretend ignorance that I've had any phone calls with them regarding clearly stating the issue. And now a new argument that they cannot go back and make a note in the system as their system is going through change.
When I asked that they connect me to their supervisor, they inturn have given me a number of Elhaj : [protected] who has not responded. when I have been a customer for so long, I would have atleast expected that they turn around and resolve the matter speedily.

Dear Vodafone Customer Care,
I request you to go through my records and logs and check that I have indeed had a 3G unlimited data plan of Rs.299 for last 3 years and using a smart phone for last 3 years. I have had multiple communications via phone and personally at the Vodafone care center with customer service where they had even ensured and acknowledged that my 3G Unlimited data plan is active.
Please check my records and see for yourself that I have been on Rs. 299 per month data plan for last 3 years. Hence the question of I surfing on my mobile without a data plan at the rate of 4p/10kb does not arise.
I am sorry to say but this is totally unacceptable and there is no way that my bill can come to such a huge amount. It is surprising to note that Vodafone has chosen on its own without my request to remove the data plan that I had for last 3 years. Vodafone has not even cared to notify me and chosen to slap me with a huge bill ! More so, that every time when I called last month they have doubly assured me that my Rs. 299 plan is in place and active. They doubly assured me that the huge un-billed amount that was being indicated will get reduced once the plan that I am on gets applied. There is no situation in which I can be held liable or made to pay off such erroneous bill.
I once again request you to keep all factors in mind and not make a super senior citizen of 82 years run pillar to post to resolve this issue. I expect Vodafone to be courteous and resolve this issue as soon as possible without causing any further hardship regarding the same.
Please also go through my records and note that I have never been late on payments and always paid my bill on time. I sincerely request you to please revert all erroneous charges levied against my cell number and adhere to Rs.299 per month unlimited 3G data plan charge that I always had towards data usage and send me the regular bill.
Regards,
S.B Chhajed

Dear Mr. Chhajed
We have received your email dated 16/06/15 regarding data charges for your Vodafone mobile number [protected].
We wish to inform you that you have surfed data on from your mobile and have been charged at 4p/10/kb as there is no data plan active on the above Vodafone mobile number
As you are our valuable customer for us hence as a one-time special gesture we are offering the reversal of Rs.1058.18 including service tax to be reverse towards data charges for bill dated 11/06/15. Kindly revert back to us if you wish to avail the benefits.
We also wish to inform you that since you are using a Smart phone, we have listed below some possible reasons by which internet could have been consumed.
·Smart phones like iPhone, Android devices etc. may have certain applications that auto refresh and tend to continuously access data network even when you are not using it.
·These auto updates could be Online Applications; which provide functionalities but usually run in the background. These applications always stay connected onto the internet. E.g. Weather, Stock and news alerts, social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook), Emails, BBM updates. So, even when the phone is not being used, as these applications are on Sel[censored]pdation mode, thus silently using data services.
·If alerts such as weather updates, stock updates, news updates etc. are active, data synchronization occurs at frequent time intervals. Profile changes in social networking sites also consume data.
·Thus, if your handset has any applications which auto refresh /update, you will be charged accordingly. The settings for these applications are predefined on the handset by the manufacturer. In addition, while roaming if your device has been set to automatically check for email, it will incur data charges even if no email is downloaded.
·This phenomenon does not occur on non- smartphone feature devices. Thus you may have not consciously used the services however your handset being a smartphone will automatically update and refresh data/emails.

Dear Sir,
I, Mr. Shantilal B Chhajed, having mobile no. [protected], have been a subscriber of Vodafone service since a very long time.
I have never had any issues with bills till date. As you can see in your record also, I have been always very regular about payments of bills as well.
In the month of May, I switched my phone from a Blackberry to an iPhone. As I was switching phones I consulted with Vodafone Executives from the Call Centre regarding my phone plan. I was assured that the Blackberry plan would automatically switch over to the iPhone and I do not have to do anything about it other than get a new sim card. After such assurance I started using my new phone under the impression that the plan has continued.
Before the end of the billing cycle I again spoke to Vodafone Executives regarding the unbilled amount being too high. I was again given re-assurance that the plan is in place and the final amount would come to the usual approximate Rs. 600-700/-. I have spoken over the phone and visited your center multiple times to get an assurance on this. You can check the recorded phone conversations. I was continuously told that I have a 3G unlimited data plan and now you are charging me for not having a data plan !!! How can you be playing such double games !!!
I was shocked to see when the final amount of Rs.4462/- was raised for the billing cycle ending 04/06/2015. It is ridiculous and beyond my understanding that how can my Bill come to such a huge amount after two to three assurances given by different Vodafone Executives regarding the bill and data plan. Regardless of the same, how am I to know whether such thing is happening, why have I not been intimated regarding such erroneous bill. There has been some kind of error on your end for which I have been held liable.
I am a senior citizen aged 82 years and my only usage is phone calls, messages and rarely checking emails. I have taken all possible precautions while shifting to new phone after consulting with the executives. Even after such actions, I find that I have been raised an untenable bill of Rs.4462/- which is completely absurd and incorrect.
I am sorry to say but this is totally unacceptable and there is no way that my bill can come to such a huge amount. I request you to go through the records and logs and do the needful required to raise the appropriate bill keeping in mind the plan which was switched over. There is no situation in which I can be held liable or made to pay off such an erroneous bill.
I hope you keep all the factors in mind and not make me run pillar to post to resolve this issue. I expect Vodafone to be courteous enough and resolve this issue as soon as possible without causing me anymore hardship regarding the same.
Regards,
S.B Chhajed
