SUBJECT: LACK OF RESPONSE AND DISSATISFACTORY SERVICE

Re: Washing Machine WPL White magic FSAN652GB[protected]



The above mentioned product was purchased on 23/08/2008 .

- The machine stopped working and complaint was registered following which an engineer-Deepak Tiwari visited on 17/09/2010 and informed that PCB needs to be changed;

- PCB changed by the above mentioned engineer on 23/09/2010 . Cost incurred = ` 3500 (cost of the part) + ` 285 (visiting cost).

- Machine again stopped working on 03/10/2010 and a complaint was registered on 05/10/2010 . The complaint was again allocated to Deepak Tiwari and a visit was requested at the earliest. However the engineer couldn’t visit on planned date, i.e. 07/10/2010 , which was thereafter postponed to 10/10/2010 and further to 11/10/2010 . All this while I kept waiting for someone to attend to the complaint and spoke to Sheetal, followed by calls to Eliza on 11/10/2010 at[protected] and 66750338. When I raised the issue of the faulty spares, lack of timely service and the repeated visiting costs, Eliza assured me that I would receive a call within an hour and the complaint would be resolved.

- Despite my repeated attempts to contact someone at[protected] and 66750338 again today to seek the resolution of the complaint no one has so far answered the phone. Spoke to someone at the contact centre again today and given the same reply without any commitment. Also, when I finally managed to speak to Deepak Tiwari, Service engineer on 12/10/2010, he advised that the PCBs are out of stock and the one he was going to connect in my machine has already been used.

I am extremely perturbed and annoyed at the lack of responsiveness and service delivery at your end. It seems that the spare parts Whirlpool is now using in the machines are unreliable and faulty (quite evident from the fact that when the PCB was changed about a fortnight back by the engineer, one out of the two PCBs brought by him conked off !! just after initiating the connection).

Also, there seems to be more stress on getting customers to take up the AMC rather than addressing the complaints. It’s ridiculous to incur a cost of ` 3785 on getting one part changed for a machine that costs only 5 times!! more so, when the machine again stops working within 10 days of rectifying the problem.

It's been 10 days and I fail to don’t understand the reason why the complaint has not been attended to so far.

The apathy towards the customer is totally uncalled for in the context mentioned.



Still hoping to receive a response and resolution.

complain- waching machine - not working properly, taking water continuously and washing of cloths mode doesn't work. is their sensor or pressure switch not working ? pl take complain and send your technical person to solve problem.

    I purchased Whirlpool washing machine from E zone on 12-June-2010. That time company had a scheme (Free ditergent powder for one year). But still I am waiting. 10 times I visited the outlet. everytime they said that wait for one month. When I called to custmor care of whirlpool than nobody wants to take responsibility. Whats the meaning when the company gives add on television.

      Whirlpool/Washing Machine — Advertisement Commitment not fulfilled

      I had purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from E zone store in K stars mall, Chembur, Mumbai on Monday 21st Sep 09 as there was an offer of assured gift on purchase of Whirlpool product.
      this offer has been extensively advertised on TV and all other media like newspaper etc.

      Its been more than 15 days and I am yet to receive the gift.

      On repeated inquiry and follow up with store , I have been told that delay is due to stock not received from Whirl pool company and I should lodge complaint with Whirl pool customer care.
      I called Whirlpool customer care, and they said that they can not help and I should contact the Whirl pool head office.
      I contacted the whirl pool head office on multiple occassion and I have been just directed to other department or call put on hold.

      This is a case of communication by company to increase sales by luring customers to exciting offers and not fulfilling the same. Such malicious practices should be stopped as this leads to wrong purchase decision by customer and also mental harrassment.

      Whirlpool Washing Machine — wrong decision to purchase whirlpool

      Dear Sir/Madam,

      I would like to inform you that I have made a very wrong decision to purchase the WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE.

      I had purchased White Magic Sr.No.INB[protected] in the month of Aug'08 through your dealer Jain Traders,at Thane.

      The dealer had promptly delivered the machine in time & also your person had came for DEMO at that time.

      The newly machine had worked properly for few months ( 2/3 months )till this time I was happy that I had choose the good washing machine,but the happiness has turned into a nightmare with in few months.

      The machine started to make noise & while taking a spin round stared to shake & making more noise.

      Immediately I had complained about the same & your person from service centre visited & made some correction in the machine & assured that every thing is alright.

      But with in few days it stared shaking & making noise again.

      This time again after making complaint the person had visited the place & the same old story repeated.

      Again after few days it started making noise & this time your person had told me that the machine will be replaced & accordingly after few days he had delivered the new machine ( INA[protected]& taken away the old one.

      The new machine worked properly for few months but stared giving the trouble as earlier.

      This time also your person from the service centre visited my place at least 6 to 7 times to resolve the complaints of the same nature.

      Every time he had made some corrections in machine such as changing or fitting belt,fitting some rods etc.which I technically do not understand.

      But what I understand is that I had made a WRONG DECISION to purchase the WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE.

      Now 2 days back the machine made a new type of sound & immediately the complaint was made.

      Your person from service centre had visited & checked the machine & at that time it did not made any noise & told us to call if any problem persists.

      Today morning the machine stops completely & immediately complaint was made.

      Your person had checked & told us that he will send the other engineer within a day or two as the machine will be opened completely to see & resolve the problem.

      I have purchased the washing machine to have the peace of mind, but WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE had given me a lot of mental agony & headache.

      Previously I had used VIDEOCON Washing machine for 10 yrs & it never gave any sort of trouble.

      I got trapped by the false advertise of the WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE & purchased it.

      I hereby request you to look into the matter & see that no other person is trapped by giving wrong/faulty product.

      I will be very much thankful to you if you send some one to collect the machine so that I can get a peace of mind.

        Firstly I would like to express my foolishness in going for a Washing Machine made by Whrilpool company. I have purchased a Automatic Washing machine Model "WHITEMAGIC" 123 650P on[protected]. Since then every few days i am facing one or other problem with regard to electrical, drain in or out etc. I was frustrated complaining such problems every often and in my opinion, I have not seen such a inferior product till now.

        Regarding the after sales service. I rate this company as one of the worst service they have. We have to plead and request and then after a week or so their service engineer will come for diagnosing the problem and later, he will further take few days to rectify the problem.

        I have a old mother at my home and she cannot wash the clothes in hand. Now buying this washing machine has become a curse in disguise. Everytime I face problem, I have to literally loose my patience and bark at the call centre executives. But in vain still the service is getting worse day by day.

        Now I want atleast to move this item from my home. Whether they give compensation or replacement it is their wish. But I dont want this item at my home which distrubing me every often, which results losses in my business for lack of concentration.

        I dont bother going for a new machine of other brand for eg. Samsung. Before buying above machine, I had Samsung machine, which I used for almost 7-8 years without single complaint.

        I wish to inform all the consumers to not to go for any appliances made by WHRILPOOL. Which will make our life miserable.

        Whirlpool Washing Machine — Pathetic casual attitude of Whirlpool India, Chennai

        I am painfully disturbed by the extremely pathetic service of Whirlpool in Chennai, India. I have a complaint no 12848 and the service engineer who came three days ago (9th Sept 09) promised to replace a spare part (purchased Whirlpool Washing Machine during June 2008) and till date nothing has happend. I spend almost half a day to call up their service center and I get stand by music and useless automatic responses with numbers to dial in English etc.. I have till now made as much as 50 calls but in vain. Whirlpool seems not to worry about their customers after the product is sold (when they promise everything under the sun). Whirpool does not seem to have any healthy trait of a multi national company or ethics or even the basic courtesy and I would like this complaint to be shown to the Board of Directors and the CEO and Manging Director, if they/he, in the least, have/has any moral obligation to respond to this complaint. I would like your good offices to take this up seriously and customers like us who make a life time capital investment like this are taken for a royal ride by these so called multi nationals. I changed by washing from IFB (which is another story- I do not know who is better or worse!) to Whirlpool with a sincere hope that this product would be relatively better. All original parts are slowly replaced by these service centers and I frankly do not know if they are genuine parts as I am not even quite knowledgebale and we believe these companies in good faith. I do not know if your good esteemed institution could device a process for all these companies to talk truthfully to their customers and also communicate truth and not by merely giving a lame excuse saying that the spare is out of stock etc. After this, they do not even bother to call back and update status, unless we make all efforts to call them again and again. It is more painful to realise that every time we talk to a totally different person and we have to repeat the whole story all over again. This pain cannot be explained but can only be felt. I would request your institution to take serious action against these multi nationals who do not perform but make only promises. Quite logically, these companies should be heavily penalized for basic non-performance and customers, duly compensated. I would be grateful if you could please respond to my complaint at your earliest convenience.

          Dear sir,
          I am Thyagaraj, This is with respect to the whirlpool washing machine in which I bought this equipment about 4 months back at Gurgaon, and we have shifted our family to Karnataka, while transporting the machine got little bit damaged and I contacted the local (Tumkur,Karnataka) show room of your product (Mahaveer Electronics, BH Road Tumkur),
          I also told please attend the problem and I will bear the cost of repair. But the service Engineer who is not at all picking up the phone, once came and he did something whereafter the problem has increased,after that he is not at all attending the phone call. I am really desperated with this. Please let me know wheather can this be attended or not,

            I have purchased one whitemagic FSA652 Whirlpool washing machine in 2/2009 from M/s. Ravi Electronics/ Kothagudem who was their authorised dealer. The Drum of machine has been rubbed and replaced in 5/2009. Now again the drive assembly is found gone against complaint No. 146, Dt. 27/7/2010 at M/s. Ravi Electronincs under warranty. The performance of the machine has been found not satisfactory and their services are also not satisfactory since the date of purchase. In spite of vigorous pursuance with M/s. Ravi Electronics and The company representatives Mr. Sukumar, Area Manager/Hyd, Mr.Kumar, Manager/Vijayawada and service agency at Khammam, the rectification of complaint is not initiated and rectified. Ultimately my washing machine is kept in dismantle condition for the last 75days for want of rectrification. The whirlpool team is failed to rectify and resume the service of my machine.Hence I request make it noticed to the company and arrange to replace the machine with new one immediately. Reply by return mail is requested.

              We brought a whirlpool semi-automatic washing machine(6.5 kg, superwasha) last Tuesday fron QRS a supposedly reputed firm in Trivandrum.

              We were informed that an executive will bring the machine and install it the same evening. The machine was delivered the next day however nobody has turned up for installation.

              The whirlpool service center claims that an executive was already dispatched. The executive never turned up till date. (executives Ph number is -[protected].

              Please help me deal with the situation

              My name is Raja Aravind from Trivandrum, kerala, I bought a WHIRLPOOL washing machine on 30th Oct 2009, Model No 10437 and serial No INFO 93404041 since then we have faced problem more than 5times, ie 17th Nov 2009 (Compliant No 07159), 25th Nov 2009(Compliant No 9396 ), 21st June 2010 (Compliant No 9164), 4th August 2010 (Compliant No 01431), and 6th Nov 2010 (Compliant No 03004), (Refer you CC)
              Every time your service engineers are saying some technical names/problems such as Agitator problem.drum problem. suspension problem and keep going, , , , , !!!
              6th Nov 2010 i made a compliant on your customer care No proper response from your side??, Today Morning again called customer care but No improvement??
              Frankly sharing with you i am not at all happy with this machine and your product??and your customer care also???????????
              whom ever are reading this mail, just put yourself in my shoes and understand my agony, Just imagine last 6days i am not able to wash my cloths?(My family consists of two kids also 5years old and 2years old)
              Here at last i am requesting you to replace my machine asap or else i may have to sue whirlpool??

              I am totally disappointed with the Samsung product brand and the miserable kind of service.
              brand new 541L Samsung frost free refrigerator which we purchased on 15/08/2010 for Rs.46000/-, is leaking which was bought from QRS Pattom Trivandrum.When we went to look for a fridge, Sales person showed us 541L of fridge from the Samsung booklet. We ordered for Product no: RT72-KBSM(541L), but we were delivered RT72KBTS1/XTL product from the QRS, which had no feature which was told to us for the product, which we have given order. It was almost we are forced to accept the fridge which QRS Pattom has dumpped it on us. Neither Samsung Staff is able to find, from where water drops are falling in the dispenser, even when there is no water filled.
              I feel cheated by QRS Showroom Pattom.

                To whom it may concern,

                I have had the misfortune of buying a 2 door Whirlpool refrigerator.

                - My fridge is now 3 years old and had completely stopped working.
                - I have made several calls over the last 2 weeks to the customer care requesting for an engineer to look into the matter.
                - My calls are "registered" but no engineer ever calls back, as they are expected to.
                - The compressor has been changed 3 times but the fridge still does not work. The engineers seem to have no clue what is wrong or how to fix it and now completely avoid my calls.
                - My calls to supervisors/managers are also avoided.

                I am completely at the end of my patience and would just like my fridge to be fixed or replaced.

                  I have bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (Model fusion 180 L) on 5/6/2010,The fridge is not working from 23 sep ,i have booked a complaint on 25 sep,Such a worst service response for the product, they never remember their promise(48 hrs),and untill today they haven't solved the problem,Any body can suggest how to take legal action against them,I suggest others not go for whirlpool products,

                  HENCE THIS IS MY THIRD REMINDER TO THE COMPANY FOR THE NECESSARY STEPS AT THE EARLIEST because of the same we are facing the mental tension we have alrady spend rs 450 for reparing one part by the recomendation of an untrained repairer and after spendinG near abOUT 1000 rs we r still not satisfied and after giving even calls toi the dealer they r not entertaining please do the need ful otherwise the consequences will be harsh on your part..

                  I have the honour to request you that i have purchased your company product whirlpool fridge of 310 ltrs on 7 may10 from shyam lal kishan lal, bill no. CCR-160. My family members all were very much fond of whirlpool product, but i would like to tell you that first piece which we recieved it was dented. after few days second piece we recieve it was having same problem, Later on we are recieved third piece but after 3-4 days we could found the vegetables are getting iced and getting moisture in the vegetable basket and on the trays as well as not cooling very much, I complained to customer care on 24th may about the aove problem. engineer came for the repair but he could not do it, my sr no. is Dl [protected] dated 24 may. Again i have complained on 26 may sr no DL [protected]. On 28 may again engineer came for the repair but he also could not do it and still i am facing same proble and again i lodged a compalint on 28 june to whirlpool but they cannot gave any response . At present i am unhappy and disguting with this product and their service and product. The said that their quality representative will come and see the problem but yet the do not come and strait forward they rejected the change my refrigetor. Daily i am getting harrasing of this fridge and not working properly. Therfore sir i request you please take a necessary action against whilpool and please help me out of this problem if you help to change my refrigerator

                  I PURCHASED 220 LTR REFRIGERATOR ON 17/10/06, BUT DUE TO BAD QUALITY OF WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS, I WAS'NT SATISFIED AT ALL AND LOGGED COMPLAINT IN APRIL '10. AFTER VARIOUS EFFORTS COMPANY DEPUTED MECHANIC WHO CHARGED RS 1700 FOR REFILLING OF GAS, BUT COMPLAINT STILL PERSISTED. I CONTACTED TO MR. SONI AT LUCKNOW WHO SUGGESTED TO DEPOSIT 40% COST OF NEW FRIDGE FOR REPLACEMENT. I DEPOSITED THE AMOUNT AND COMPANY REPLACED THE FRIDGE ON 5/10/10 AFTER EXPIRY OF SIX MONTHS. REPLACED FRIDGE IS IN BROKEN CONDITION. WHIRPOOL ASSURED TO REMOVE THE FAULT IN 2 HOURS, BUT NOT YET DONE AFTER LAPSE OF THREE DAYS.
                  I SUGGEST TO PUBLIC NOT TO PURCHASE ANY WHIRLPOOL ITEMS AS COMPANY IS NOT HAVING GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS AS WELL AS SERVICE CENTRES. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF COMPANY TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE FRIDGE FREE OF COST BUT COMPANY CHARGED 40% OF COST AND DID'NT RETURN RS 1700 SERVICE CHARGES.

                    I have purchased Whirlpool 1.5 ton Split AC with great enthusiasm of the first AC of my house. But the kind of issue I have been facing with my AC from last one year is very disappointing and frustrating for me and makes a bad and unacceptable impact on the quality concern of my trusted brand “Whirlpool”.
                    I have purchased the Whirlpool 1.5 ton Split AC in July, 2009,in the name of Mr.Umesh Mishra,Shanker Niwas Pandariba,Charbagh,Lucknow.The AC stopped working in the month of June 2010 for which I have lodged the complaint with Whirlpool Customer Care (compliant no-LKO[protected]. Whirlpool engineer visited us and told me that the compressor of the AC has gone bad and would be replaced. As a result of which it took him 20 days to get the compressor replaced.

                    The AC worked fine for 15-20 days but again I am facing the same problem with the AC.I called the Whirlpool Customer Care and lodged the complaint (complaint no-LKO[protected] & LKO[protected] the engineer visited us and told me that the again the compressor of the AC need has gone bad and need to be changed. As the AC is out of warranty, I would be charged Rs.8000/- to Rs.10,000/- for its repair.

                    Now that is very frustrating for me that a brand like Whirlpool is supplying such a bad quality products/spares that within a span of 12-14 months the compressor needs to be replaced twice.

                    I tried to contact Whirlpool Customer Care but I received no positive response.I have twice written a letter to them and also emailed my concern to them.

                    I think that this is a kind of manufacturing defect with the AC hence I would request you to get either the complete AC replaced or get its compressor replaced with best quality compressor and increase the brand value of my preferred brand.

                    Whirlpool Split AC — Compressor not replaced

                    Split AC was purchased on 15-04-08 Model No-WASR-12K20
                    Serial No-INA[protected] from-Sony Mony electronics Andheri West, Mumbai-58
                    Gas leaked on 20-03-09 and lodged complaint on[protected] complaint no -240304. Repeated reminders gave poor response and got gas filled from outside.
                    Again there was problem and lodged complaint on[protected], complaint no.MV-[protected]. Engineer visited on[protected] and informed about compressor problem. Outdoor unit was taken on 2-6-09 for Compressor replacement. Now they are telling the compressor will come from Faridabad.All this has created a great mental tension and after spending so much money we have to stay without A.C. in high temp.
                    We have committed blunder by purchasing this brand because we have never come across such a poor service. Kindly act urgently otherwise I shall be constrained to go to consumer court.

                    This is the same experience that I am going through after having bought Whirlpool Split AC. I had bought it in April 2008 and since then there has been over 15 complaints that I have raised with them.
                    Contractor who had come to paint our building broke the pipes from the AC by mistake which caused the gas to leak out. We called Whirlpool and they sent a technician to check out the problem. The tech informed that we would be charged for replacing the tubes and refilling the gas, which we accepted as the fault was with us.
                    The AC started making huge noise, spray water inside, sounds of ice breaking etc.. since then, we kept asking whirlpool engineer to repair this, we kept getting novices that had no idea what an AC was, they only kept cleaning the filters, which I do manually once a week. Then they finally said that they do not know how to fix this and do not have any one to fix this and this is the design of the product.
                    I argued with them stating that till the problem occurred the AC did not make such noise nor did it spray water inside. This was only for deaf ears.
                    We had called a different tech, who services our other AC to check this problem, after much reluctance (due to the our service contract with whirlpool) he accepted to check the AC. He was able to fix the problem within a day.
                    The AC had been working fine since then, a week ago our AC was down again and this time when we called Whirlpool they said that it is a problem with the compressor and that they were not sure if they wanted to do the work because last time we had called a different person to repair. I am also looking at a bill of 10000 plus... paying for getting it serviced by novice engineers, who have no idea what they are doing.

                    Bad product, bad service and the worst customer experience is what I think of whirlpool. I am a customer service engineer, and I dare not think of my customers the way whirlpool thinks of theirs.

                      it was quite unfortunate that we had visited girias indiranagar and bought one refrigerator whirlpool on a sunday afternoon. the delivery was supposed to be on the same day. but it didnt happen. when we called today( Monday) they either didnt pick up the call or even if they had picked they would keep the phone aside.... finally after calling for 10 times one person answered saying that it will reach by one hour (i.e 17 hours) but they didnt send it.... the response was horrible they have been only lying to us... no customer care number or email ID of the respective company.

                        I have purchased A refrigerator WHIRLPOOL FUSION PREMIER 260 litre capacity from Gehlot electronics, Bikaner. But the feature as described by dealer and mentioned in brochure is not working (6th sense frost control, e-light) and not present (6th sense door open alarm) in the piece supplied. The is also not closed completely. On visit, mechanic said that the module of 6th sense frost control is deected.

                        Therefore, I request you to kindly instruct the dealer to either change the piece or to refund.

                            I have bought one New Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WM Pro. PUM 701 Rate Rs 18,990 DISC.11.111P.C fromFairdeal Electronics 26-A, K-Block, Rajapuri Chowk on 11.09.2010 invoice no R-14926/10-11. Consignee Bajaj Auto Finance Ltd, buyer Sutapa Roy. From day 1 the machine was not performing after installation. On complaint Service request no. SR DL [protected] Dtd 17.09.2010. The service engineer could not satisfactorily solve the problem and without taking satisfaction code left my premises. The following are the problems I am encountering:-
                            1. The power switch is not getting proper contact basically not working.
                            2. the functions on all the positions of selector knob is not working. Except delicate washing (that too knob is not getting connected at the proper location as shown on the picture attached to Knob) on other location machine is not getting started.
                            I have taken up the matter with your dealer M/s Fairdeal but he is not accepting the problem for the reason best known to him. I am feeling totally disgusted for buying the machine from Whirlpool. Spending lot of money for washing cloths daily from outside laundry inspite of the fact that I have bought a washing machine from reputed manufecturer M/s Whirlpool. This is my last attempt to solve the issue on mutually respectable way for both the parties.
                            I would like to request you to replace my machine which is malfunctioning.

                              Our Whirlpool Spin 801 superwash was purchased on 23/12/09. The machine broke down on 02/09/10. We informed dealer on same day and service centre ACS Home care, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta dist, Kerala on 03/09/10. Service technician came home four days later after repeated calls and complaints. diagnosed problem as burnt capacitor. they did not have a spare and told us it will be available in a few days as it is a new model. After repeated checks, calls, complaints, technician came back and connected wires directly without capacitor and told us we could use the machine, but we have not done so because we are not sure how it will affect the machine. Nearly a month later, the machine is still not repaired. I called their customer care, a mistake. Just an excuse of a customer care.

                                WHIRLPOOL CHARGING SERVICES MORE THAN THE COST OF THE WASHING MACHINE IN ONE YEAR.

                                The last complaint which was attended by the wirlpool service centre is as follows -:

                                (changed the P.C.B for Rs 3200/- due to moisture problem)
                                Serviced by Mr.Saroj and one another person both were Senior Engineers as claimed by the service centre.
                                But from[protected] the machine is not working properly.

                                Again the complaint was made via SMS for on 21.9.2010,the complaint for which is not attended till date. Again two complaints via SMS was send on[protected] and[protected] but no response.
                                A SMS from Whirlpool, saying your call has been alloted to Mr.Saroj Kumar phone no-:[protected] was received. After speaking to him there was no result.
                                Saroj Kumar was first spoken to on[protected] and then[protected]. On both the occasions, he said the machine will be taken to the service centre for through servicing but nothing has been done till date
                                A list of services taken from service centre starting July 2009 , till date -:
                                16.9.2010 – Changed PCB , Charged Rs.3200/-
                                [protected] changed agitator, some parts of detergent dispenser ,added trolley for Rs 2155/- (service request no. 7210)
                                [protected] changed P.C.B. for Rs3200/- (service request no 5238)
                                [protected] changed inlet pipe , drain pipe ,service charge etc total charge- Rs955/- (service request no-: NIL)
                                [protected] changed on/off switch for Rs265/-(service request no-:NIL)
                                [protected] changed P.C.B .Charged Rs.3480/-(service request no-:H/O-508)
                                Within a span of one year a total of Rs 13,255/- has been spent on whirlpool due to inferior quality of service given by the service centre. Still the machine is not working.
                                Is this the kind of service expected out of an International Brand?!!! Ignorance and Failure to detect the correct problem has been the key to this whole issue.

                                I have purchased a new fully automated whirlpool washing machine from George enterprises, porur. Connector (adopter ) between the water tab and the washing machine is not in a good condition now, I called the customer service person and compliant the same. But No response. I have risen more than three times from last week.

                                Whirlpool Washing Machine — Worst service

                                I have purchased a fully automated whirlpool washing machine 1.5 years back from Digital Shoppy, Miyapur, Hyderabad. The washing is not working from last 3 months.                                     bought a Whirlpool AC on 05.09.2010 from Richa Electronics, Kanpur (U.P). I bought it for my comfort but its giving me more discomfort and stress. The AC is not working properly and when I called up to your Customer Care they didn't helped up and even they misbehaved with us. Whirlpool Customer Care is totally hope less.

                                    I am writing the sequence of my steps which I took to get resolved my problem:
                                    1) Launched complained through Customer Care via complain no. LK[protected] on 06.09.2010 (the same day I bought it).
                                    2) After calling Customer Care 9 or more times they attended my complain but the problem is not solved.
                                    3) My complained was closed without intimating me and with out a visit of any Whirlpool engineer.
                                    4) No one called me from your so called Esteamed Company Whirlpool.
                                    5) This is not enough, The Service center of Kanpur submit False report which says that customer( that's me) refuses to repair the AC.
                                    6) On approaching to the service center employes Mr. Bunty (Ph no. [protected]) and Mr. Vijendra Pal (Ph no. [protected]) they misbehaved me and threaten me "DO WHAT YOU CAN DO"
                                    7) Contacted to Lucknow Branch office (Ph no. [protected]) but they didn't solved any problem.

                                    I am mailing you in hope that some action should be taken otherwise I will go to Senior Officers of Whirlpool or if needed I can also approach to Consumer Court.

                                      Dear Sir,
                                      I have been trying to get my whirlpool white magic machine repaired for almost 6 months now! I entered into a service contract paying about Rs 4000 thinking that I will get proper service after paying such a heavy sum. I have repeatedly given complaints but the response has been poor and far between. Whirlpool engineers have visited my house on four or five occasions during this period but so far no one has been able to repair it properly.
                                      The problem with the machine is that it works intermittently. It works for a day or two and then suddenly without warning it refuses to co-operate with all our attempts to make it work. A few hours later it will be in a in a helpful mood and start washing as suddenly and as inexplicably as it had stopped. At times it does not work for days together.
                                      We are staying about 10-15 km from your nearest service agent. The plea given by the service agency is that we are on the outskirts therefore they cannot be given prompt service. I myself travel 30 km to my workplace in Pune every day. Can a service engineer not visit us sooner? Or is it asking for too much. If you think that I am asking for too much I think that you have also charged too much for the service contract.
                                      I will explain to you my latest attempt to get the machine repaired. I first lodged the complaint on 29/12/09 my complaint number was recorded as [protected]. Nobody turned up to repair the machine while we continued to wash with the intermittent washing machine. I next lodged a complaint on 15/16 th of January complaint no pn [protected]. When I asked about my complaint of December I was told that the complaint has been closed because the Engineer visited our house and he found it locked. We are both working and it is likely that we were not at home when he called. But he has not even made an attempt to call us. In this age of communication can the service engineer or your office or call centre not fix up an appointment before visiting. Is it proper to close a complaint because the customer was not at home. I think a complaint should be closed only after ensuring that the service engineer has been successful in repairing the machine to the satisfaction of the customer.
                                      After repeated calls to the call centre , service centre and the Pune whirlpool centre I could coax the service engineer a Mr Ranjeet to visit our residence. He came on a Sunday and to our distress the washing machine was working when he visited. He looked at the machine and said “the machine is working I cannot not do any repair work.” I told him that it works intermittently. Kindly have a look at the wiring as there may be some loose connection. He refused to comply with my request and told me to use a hair drier to heat up the region around the control buttons as it may be a moisture problem. Is a Whirlpool washing machine supposed to work like that or is Whirlpool in the hairdryer business too?
                                      I then pointed out that the machine also has one more problem i.e. the water level sensor does not work properly it either senses the lowest level or works only at the highest level. Very reluctantly he agreed to replace the sensor. After replacing the sensor he was in a tearing hurry to leave. I called him and asked him to wait to confirm that the level sensor was now working properly. He refused to wait even after I offered him tea and walked away rudely. I ran out to call him back but he refused to wait. I decided to test the machine. I had to connect the water pipeline on my own because the service engineer had not bothered to fix it back. A rubber washer had fallen off and the joint was leaking. After some time I noticed the rubber washer lying on the bathroom floor and after I had inserted it properly the joint was not leaking. I started the wash cycle and soon found that the machine was overflowing. I switched it off immediately and called the service engineer again and requested him to come and repair the machine. He said that it was not possible for him to come back now, but would come back the next day. He may have left my residence just 10 minutes before and must have been hardly a few kilometers from my house but still he refused to comply with my request. I got very angry with him--- and you cannot fault me for that.
                                      I called the whirl pool call centre and lodged my strong complaints and advised them not to send the same service engineer to our house again. Nobody turned up to repair the machine for a whole week then. Initially they promised to send the engineer on Wednesday they then postponed it to Friday. When I called on Friday they informed me that the engineer will visit me at 11 am on Saturday. I did not get a call from the service engineer even at 12 am so I called the whirlpool call centre and told them that I have been waiting all morning for a service engineer but he has not even bothered to call. They called up the service centre and informed me that the engineer was in my area and would be visiting me soon. At 1500 hrs I had to leave for an important religious function so I left asking my wife to return from office as early as possible because the service engineer may turn up any time. Can a visit not be scheduled? The service engineer finally came at 1800 hrs. It was the same service engineer who had messed up the machine before, Mr Ranjeet. Customers cannot be choosers especially after the payment is made!
                                      My wife had managed to come back by then but there was no power. My wife convinced him to go ahead with the repair. He repaired the machine and left. Again within 10 minutes or less power was restored and my wife called him. He assured us that the machine would work and that he need not come. Power shut downs all over Maharashtra is scheduled is it not possible to send the service engineer when there is no power shut down.
                                      I advised my wife to test the machine and to our relief we found that the machine was working fine. On 25th Jan Monday morning I got a call from the whirlpool office asking me if the machine was working fine I told that it was working properly. At 2100 hrs on the same day in the middle of a wash cycle I find that the machine is beeping away In protest. It had stopped working suddenly as of old.
                                      I believe these machines do not work if they are not wired properly. Sensors may not behave as expected if the earthing is not proper. This time I was not at home but the last time the engineer opened it for repair I saw a lot of loose wire hanging around in the machine. I believe it is a case of shabby maintenance powered by poor knowledge and lethargy.
                                      I do not feel that whirlpool has the capability to repair a washing machine. The amount of inconvenience and hardships caused by the poor service cannot be expressed in words nor can it be easily compensated by money. In spite of that I request you to only refund the amount I paid for the service contract so that I can buy a new washing machine preferably of some other make. The amount could be sent to me by cheque to the following address.
