I had ordered food from Zomato via order ID [protected] on 13 June 2016. I paid money (854.61) in advance via credit card. After around an hour, I got an SMS stating that my order was rejected. On Zomato App, it mentioned that the customer was not available at the address and not reachable on phone! This was a lie, because I was waiting for the order at the address and no one had come to my place to deliver food. I chatted with Zomato customer service immediately and they said the order could not be delivered because I am unavailable, and they couldn't give a refund either! I told them that I am certainly available, and it has been just over an hour since the order placement, so I demanded them to deliver the food, but they refused saying that the order has been closed in their database. They asked me to email their customer service with the concern, which I did immediately, but there has been no further action on this matter.
I suspect this is some sort of fraud action from the side of Zomato where they attempt no delivery after getting the payment, and then pocket the money without refunding.
Zomato customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
