I placed an order through zomato. The order was placed and then got cancelled as the delivery boy couldn't reach me on my phone.. But still i was charged full amount of the order as a penalty.. I was at the door the whole time and with the phone. It was not my mistake. If the phone was unreachable (Not unanswered call) then the delivery boy should have followed the map. What's the use of the map if without call they can't reach the location. I see it as a network error but i am made to pay the price.. The msg from zomato to contact the delivery boy also came after the order got cancelled and while talking to the support, i asked if the order could get delivered now as it was already dispatched but they declined (10-15 mins after cancellation) i paid delivery charges (Rs 20) more than the usual charge (Rs 10) and the delivery boy didn't bother to visit the delivery location according to the map.. He didn't visit the whole neighborhood.. He should have atleast visit the location, then tried calling and if no response, then cancelled and made the payment non-refundable as penalty.
Moreover, they are very unprofessional. The support staff from the app asked me to mail the matter. During mail, when i asked why the delivery boy didn't bother to visit the location to the best understanding of the map and why was i made to pay the penalty even though, i didn't cancel the order, they just stopped replying..
Is this professionalism?? This is pure cheating..
