Hi,

I have cancelled my international ticket for Air India flight in January 2021 and at that time I was told that I will get refund in 21 days in my credit card account but haven't received yet.

I have been calling customer service and waiting for hours and also sent emails, tweets etc. and I am not getting any response. Everytime they says you will get refund in 3 days, 7 days etc. but haven't got anything.

I need legal help to solve this!

    we would once again like to bring to your kind attention that
    we have booked a flight coimbatore - ahmedabad via chennai

    date of booking : 6.10.19
    date of travel : 27.1.20

    Passenger Name : Mr Bhavik Maheta

    where the passenger travelled from coimbatore to chennai
    but the connecting Air India flight from chennai to ahemdabad was cancelled BY AIR INDIA.
    and the amount is still not credited to our account.

    we have put number of mails in regards to the same, but there is no response.

        Hello - I would really appreciate your help in this matter.

        It has been more than 100 hours and I've not received my bags yet. I'm a United Million Miler, Premier 1K and Star Alliance Gold member.

        File reference for delayed baggage (VTZAI13451). I traveled business class from SFO and I picked my bags in Delhi on December 30th around 1:00AM, cleared customs and then went to the Air India domestic business class counter to handover for transfer to VTZ around 1:30AM.

        Here are the details:

        1st Bag: Brand TUMI, color grey (checkered pattern), HARD CASE. It contains the setup for my work-from-home like big power cord, monitor connection HDMI cables, laptop docking station

        2nd Bag: Brand BUGATTI, color DARK grey, HARD CASE. It contains 2 handheld milk frothers (probably AA batteries are preinstalled which I didn’t realize when packing)

          Today me and my mom who is a senior citizen had a hard time convincing airindia check in manager that molecular test or pcr test is same as rt pcr. If it's not mentioned that it's a rapid pcr, it's definitely rt pcr.

          The most well-known molecular test uses a laboratory method known as reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) that is often called PCR.

          He was so rude to me and mother he pulled us out of the line and was not accepting our report. He returned us our luggage too.

          He was just focusing on words not the report.

          We somehow could manage to request lab and they sent us another report but usa doesn't know RT PCR . Pcr is also ok.

          Please educate your managers so that they will not trouble other travellers .

          My mother cried and was very sad with all this. She is traveling from Chicago to Delhi all alone. I am not feeling safe for her because of all the mess up.

          Add on to this, the check in assistant didn't let me help to my mother and when she was trying by her own, he commented offensive way saying " meri maa" to her, and I excused him and said not to be mean to her. He apologized but that was ridiculous.

          We will never ever use airindia but still wants to put this note in your immediate actions.

          Same thing my daughter and my wife were traveling on January 03 2022. I got same problem with manager. Manager doesn’t not know what is meaning of RT-PCR. He was very stupid guys. He also doesn’t know what is the meaning of No show. No show means passenger did not come in airport but we already went to the airport and the manager write down No show in the air India system that’s means we have to pay penalty for no show $300 per passenger. They already gave our seat to other passenger. How? Air India makes the money from the people. Aman patel he borns in United States. he doesn’t not what is the meaning of No show. I am not happy with Air India service.

            Dear Sir,

            1. It is with profound grief that I am penning this complaint to you. I am a serving Air Force Officer and had coordinated the Yemen operation 'OP RAHAT', where AI flights used to fly in from Djibouti and I was coordinating the operations from Sana'a, Yemen, right from manifesting to loading of Indian and foreign nationals with support of local people under Gen VK Singh (Retd). I am conveying this information just to show my relationship with AI.

            2. However my recent tryst with AI has not been very good. I had booked flight AI 505 from Bengaluru to Delhi on the 27 Dec 21 for myself and my wife. The STD was 1025h. Like a good traveller I had reported at 0810h to the airport only to be told that due to a snag the aircraft was cancelled and I would be flying out in AI 501 departing at 1320h. Boarding pass for the same was also issued.

            3. However, at 1105h I was told that the flight AI 505 snag has been rectified and I would be flying out on the same aircraft. Again my Boarding Pass was reissued. The departure time was 1320h for AI 505 as well. As the time came for boarding we had to enquire and only then were told that the flight will now depart at 1400h. Again only on enquiry we were told that the flight will now depart at 1500h. Once again only on enquiry we were told the flight would now depart at 1600h. Finally we boarded and waited in the aircraft for some unknown reason and we took of at appx 1625h. I am sure you will understand the 6 hour tribulation we had to endure at Bengaluru airport.

            4. Before Take off, during flight or after landing there was no announcement of baggage not being loaded in flight AI 505. In fact the cabin crew announced that baggage can be collected from belt number 2 on landing at IGI. The flight taxied back to dispersal at 1915h and we went to collect the baggage. After about 15 min the conveyor belt stopped and then one staff member came to tell us that the baggage of about 60 pax has not been loaded and our baggage will come by 2030h in flight AI 503. I immediately went to the baggage complaint cell at IGI airport and met Mr. Sonu Kumar, who can vouch for my support to him in pacifying passengers not to get angry at him as the fault is not his and he is only trying to help. I had put in my complaint and was told by him too that the AI 503 is getting our luggage by 2030h. I had asked him if I could come by 2200h and collect my baggage. He had answered in the affirmative.

            5. At 2215h I came back to the airport only to be told by CISF staff that I cannot go in but can call the number displayed and enquire about the baggage. My 22 calls on the number given went unanswered and finally at 2300h I went back irritated.

            6. On 28 Dec 21 morning onwards umpteen number of calls were unanswered and many times the line was also busy. I did not know the whereabouts of my baggage and also was unsure on further course of action. Finally at 1532h got through and explained my situation to the lady who told me to wait. She put me on hold and after 12-15 minutes I had given up and cut the line. I tried again many times and finally Mr. Sonu Kumar himself picked up the phone. He told me that the baggage had not yet arrived and it is likely to come only on the late evening flight on the 28 Dec 21 and that as per my delivery address it would be delivered on the 29 Dec 21.

            7. 29 Dec, the entire day I kept waiting for the luggage and as I did not receive the luggage I gave a call at 1844h. One Ms. Nisha picked up the call and after checking told me that my luggage had arrived and that I would be receiving it only on the 30 Dec. I had then explained my predicament as my uniform was there inside the baggage and how important it was to attend the event I had come into Delhi from Bengaluru to attend in the required uniform. She did sympathise with me but could not help me further other than putting in a request for an early delivery.

            8. 30 Dec too I had waited for the entire day and did not receive my baggage. Once again after 24 attempts got through finally to Ms Nisha at 1656h. When I had asked her about the baggage she remembered my previous day's conversation regarding the uniform and after checking, promptly came back to say that it had been picked up by DTDC at 1100h on 30 Dec 21 and would be delivered to me. I had requested a point of contact. She had given me the number of Mr Atul (DTDC) . When I had contacted that gentleman at 1703h to check the position of my baggage he told me that he had not collected any baggage on 30 Dec as he had got himself vaccinated and was on leave and I had to contact Air India.

            9. Once again after several attempts I could get through to Ms. Nisha to explain the present situation. She had promised to check and get back to me with a delivery person's contact number. HOWEVER, EVEN AFTER 83 HRS AFTER I HAVE HANDED OVER MY BAGGAGE TO AIR INDIA I AM YET TO GET MY LUGGAGE.

            10. In this entire episode the following merits the attention of your organisation:-
            (a) Not communicating the correct information, be it departure timings or non loading of baggage.
            (b) Limited staff to handle such a situation as the public gets agitated and were abusive to both Sonu Kumar and the other Female Staff as in the present case.
            (c) Lack of clarity as to the whereabouts of the baggage leading to infructuous communication and waste of time.
            (d) Complete lack of empathy for the customer wherein every customer is left to deal with his or her own ordeal.

            11. My own personal observation is as follows:-
            (a) I had to be in uniform at a certain time and that could not happen due to the negligence of your esteemed organisation.
            (b) I had to go through tremendous mental agony and stress due to this completely avoidable situation because of your organisation's callous attitude towards passengers.
            (c) The time wasted on just trying to find out about my baggage is appalling with no proper redressal.
            (d) Your staff are not aware of the reparation or compensation rules of the airline.

            12. I request you to look into this matter immediately and ensure compensation of Rs.30, 000/- (10, 000 for every 24 hours ( which I believe is a reasonable reparation for not only delayed baggage, but for the time wasted, mental agony, anxiety, stress, tension and cold weather that me and my wife had to endure. Please appreciate that our winter clothing was in that baggage and we boarded at Bengaluru which is relatively warmer than Delhi. We had to survive in the same clothes that we travelled for the last 83 hours due to false promises that the baggage is arriving in the next flight. We kept waiting for the same. BUT ALAS. If my grievance is not adequately addressed I would have no choice but to go to other redressal agencies as deemed fit.

              Good morning Mr Lohani

              I am Lt Cdr Anuradha, an ATC officer posted in Goa.
              I travelled home by airindia flight on 30 Dec from Goa to Delhi to Chandigarh on same day same PNR. The halt between the two connecting flights at Delhi was sufficient to transfer luggage.

              At chandigarh post landing and waiting for close to 35 mins when my bag didn't come on the belt, I bagan to look for airindia reps but sadly to inform you that nobody from your airline was there. This was when I reached CISF personnel and then somebody turned up after further 10 mins.

              She confirmed to me that my bag is left in Delhi and it would be sent by next flight to chandigarh and subsequently my home. Believing that lady named, Jyoti, I went home and tried calling airindia from 2000 h till 2130 h but no response and so I did not get my luggage that day.

              Following day, I started calling up air india counter at chandigarh and delhi, got the number of airindia manager of chandigarh but its truly sad to tell you that nobody answers the call untill 15-16 calls.

              I spoke to one lady Pooja at chandigarh where in that confused woman made statements which were not at all acceptable, especially when I am myself from aviation. Ultimately she hanged up the call saying the bag is not traceable and they are not sure if the bag was even uploaded from Goa only. Again, how could somebody make a statement of this sort when the previous day it was confirmed that bag was left in Delhi by none other but airindia rep.

              I spoke to manager, Mr Gulshan Mehta, again a bit time disappointment who was totally disinterested and could only say he will check but never reverted. It was me who called up all over the world to check the location of my bag and learnt that it was in Delhi. I called up the manager to tell him the same who as expected didn't make an effort to this issue of mine and I requested him to send my bag same day by night that is 31st.

              Later in night after making 20-25 calls to air india ohd I got confirmation that my bag has been sent to chandigarh and nobody from chandigarh cared to inform me. Later in night again I called up this manager and all that he could say was its too late to send the bag at 2045h. Ridiculous.

              01 Jan, even at 1300h, this manager doesn't know what is the plan ahead to send the bag and it is more that 50 hrs since I reached home.

              It is my sincere request to kindly sensitive your staff to customers grievances. Just because the bag doesn't belong to you doesn't mean it is not important. The way your people has reacted is very pathetic. No good leadership, no plan, no vision. Had it been indigo or vistara, I can say it with 100%surity that I would have got my bag same day and that's the reason these airlines are doing well.
              All I can say is that its our (defense personnel) bad luck that we are mandated to travel by this airline.

                I have booked a e-ticket[protected] from Chicago (ORD) to Amritsar (ATQ) on 5th March, 2021. I had got symptoms of corona (fever, cold & cough) at the time of boarding so Air India didn’t allow me to go. After all the discussion, I had cancelled the ticket by calling to Air India office, phone number[protected] but still my refund amount is pending. I have called the customer support couple of times and also sent detailed email to Air India. Air India customer care representatives are NOT knowledgeable about the refund status and not giving precise answer for the delay. I request to you please refund my ticket amount through Air India at the earliest.

                  As COVID is once again on the rise, my college decided to turn to teaching online for a month. Due to this i had to postpone my Delhi to Mumbai flight by a month. So, to reschedule my flight i decided to connect with customer care. Firstly, i was connected to a person who recognised my flight details and told me i had to talk to the "ticketing department". He said he'd put my call on hold for a short duration, but that short duration turned out to be one complete hour. Ok, after wasting that much time, someone from ticketing got on to my case. They also recognised my problem and tried to help, in the end they said they would call back in 2 minutes with the payment link and further flight details. THAT CALL NEVER CAME. This was very frustrating. Again, i am having to go through the entire process. It's the same, such a waste of time, it's been 30 minutes since my call was put on hold. Will i be able to reschedule my flight?...and if this lack efficiency leads to me losing money on this flight ticket, i demand some type of compensation, either a refund or travel points since I frequently fly with air india.

                    Ticket cancelled from airline end

                    I booked AirIndia ticket to travel from Port Blair to Chennai on Jan 14, 2022. My booking got confirmed previously. The PNR is JFK6T.
                    Recently the PNR has been cancelled from Airline end. Since the cancellation was from their end I wanted the AirIndia to nook ticket on same day instead of refund. And give me a confirmed PNR for travel.
                    I tried reaching out to Customer care and said my issue but they transferred my call to another...

                    As I arrived yesterday night at Hyderabad international airport there was extra luggage so they took money from me and they even said cabin bag can be also be put along with check in luggage. That’s the only reason I gave my cabin bag along with check in luggage. And when I reached the Mumbai for my London flight the asked that why did you keep 4 bags. As I said they even took money from me for extra luggage and they didn’t give bill. Along with me 2 persons also suffered like this. They’re playing with us. My flight number was AI698. They’re are doing this kind of business in Hyderabad airport can check this issue and give me refund back .

                      My name is Rajesha Navile Basappa, I was booked air tickets for me and my family on 21st May 2020 through Air India Website to travel from domestic flight from Bangalore to Delhi and international flight from Delhi to Sydney later I cancelled them due to Government again postponed domestic flights flying dates so I cant travel to Delhi from my native place. I sent many requests for refund, every time they told us refund will take time, it’s almost 1 and half year still we waiting. Now I am not able to send mails and not able to contact them. I paid nearly $7000 Australian dollars. Please help me to resolve this problem. Because of covid -19 I am already facing financial issues in my family.

                        We had booked a ticket with Air India booking staff over the phone on 08.01.2020, the spelling mistakes was found after issuing the ticket so we were asked to book another ticket and promised to receive a refund in 14days for the mistake ticket payment.
                        We have been waiting ever since, we have emailed and called Air India about 100s of times but everytime we have been told that refund will be with us in 7days, 14days, 21days, and it will be 2 years next month and still waiting.

                          Original ticket: booked for 2nd Jan 2022, PNQ-DEL-FRA. Paid 9962 as instructed by Air India Booking Team agent via the link provided by them, to upgrade to business class. I see the amount being debited from my account, but the agent is unable to see it from her side. I am unable to see finish the conversation because the call gets cut after 60min. I have called 5-6 times, kept on wait for 55min and then before we resolve, the call is ended exactly at 60min. My flight is in 3 days but my ticket is not changed. Please help me resolve.

                          The customer care tells me if I dont confirm my payment then my PNR will get cancelled. But there is wait of 50min! When they call then they cut the call before I finish payment. PLEASE HELP!

                            I have booked ticket for new delhi to cochin on 22.12.2021
                            at 9.37pm journey date 28.12.2021, after making payment Rs.5625/- thru citibank credit card i got error message, copy of which is enclosed herewith. I dnt even get any message i.e mail or sms from airindia airlines . I had contacted citibank they informed, the same amount deducted for Air india, details of which is enclosed herewith.                               Dear Sir/Madam:

                              My name is Vimal Manilal Patel. I was on flight AI 127 27DEC from DELHI TO ORD(O'HARE - CHICAGO), Boarding No. 97, Ticket #[protected]C1. Under the Federal Aviation Act, all commercial airline carriers are responsible for negligence on the part of their employees. The airline can be held liable for the injuries that result from mistakes made by an air line in not correcting the faulty equipment. Over 15 hour flight with with entertainment console working and a broken seat that resulted in injury to head twice.
                              The seat was broken and would not recline. Not knowing this first time, I reclined the seat and fell down, hurt my head. Then while I was asleep, the passenger next to me reclined my seat and again hurt my head. Twice I had to endure pain to head because of faulty seat. Air India failed to address faulty seat causing hardship and pain. I need to know how I will be compensated before I take legal action.

                              In addition to seat being broken, the entertainment center was not working. I endured over 15 hours of flight time without entertainment center working. Two flight attendants did not want to help and did not offer to find different seat after individual complaint.

                              It occurred on: 27/12/2021

                              When I called USA & Canada:[protected]Toll Free), Air India hung up the call twice. I am left with no option but to file a complaints with FAA and BBB for damages.

                              I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply back via this email account.

                                With refrence to your following email reply dtd. 11.12.2021. It is heartening to note that no actions have been taken so far to refund my full amount of my cancelled flight ticket. (Refer attachment). Two feedback forms have already been filled one on the same day when tickets were cancelled on 28.09.2021 reference no.WB-IBDQ[protected]. Second was also done on subsequently upon request. Every time your mail is for feedback from your end but no concrete action has been taken from your side to resolve the issue.

                                  From last 15 days I’m calling customer service for flight change and never get Change my flight schedule I had paid for that and everyone they told me that we are transferring your line to ticket department and then line disconnected all time I had called and never get solved. I emailed them 4 times and they never replied I’m suffering from financial problems here in London and this airlines intentionally want to steal customers money 0 customers services. I also tried online to change but they said contact to customer support

                                    My brand-new hard case suitcase was mishandled and broken while travelling from Delhi to Bangalore on December 11 2021.

                                    The Assistant [ named ABISH] who lodged the complaint told me that a new suitcase will be delivered within 7 days but nothing has been communicated so far.
                                    I tired to connect on the number they provided [ [protected] ]. The official who picked me said no suitcase will be given. And now there was no response from the Air India.

                                      Hello, It has been more than 2 months now i am trying to get refund money for my ticket which was cancelled due to issues with Air India website. The refund department is simply delaying the payment without offerring a propoer communication or email. Everytime i write an email, they write standard nonsense replies to email which doesnt help me at all.
                                      I am really tired of this Airline and i am even thinking of filing harrasment and deception court case in Germany ( the place where i booked the ticket from).
                                      I am hoping atleast this form will help me to escalate this matter since there is neither a escalation matrix nor any contact details (calls to Frankfurt office are more than useless).
