I want to share a fraudulent experience of shopping at amazon india.
I have ordered a sumeet mixer grinder through www.amazon.in amazon india on 14th october, 2018. Order id:[protected]. Payment was done via my debit card.
This product was supposed to get delivered by 16th october, 2018. I was at home waiting for this delivery for the whole day of 16th october.
At night i checked my e-mail and i found an amazon email received at 11:19 pm mentioning that the order has been delivered. I got shocked that how they can move this order to delivered state without delivering it. Amazon website order status also showed status as delivered.
17th oct 2018 10:39 am, i called the amazon agent mobile number provided in the automated sms for delivery but no one answered. After that i called amazon customer service at 11:42 am and reported to them and they said they cannot act upon it until 20th oct and to wait for the parcel. Delay could be due to season rush.
I waited for 3 days and continued to try the delivery agent mobile number. He didn't pick calls or came to deliver the package.
I again contacted amazon customer service on 20th oct 2018 1:17 pm and asked them to take this matter into investigation. On 26th oct 2018 i called again to know the status and they advised that they investigated this issue and concluded that product was out from warehouse and delivered to the customer, we can't process return/replace/refund of this product.
I got really upset and thought to investigate this issue myself so i tried calling the delivery agent mobile number ([protected]) again at 6:50 pm 26th oct 2018. Just like before, no one answered. To my luck at 9:30 pm same day i received his call back and spoke with mr. Puneet rathi, the missing amazon agent, where he confessed that he did not deliver the item on 16th oct night 11.18 pm as shown on tracking details. And that he took it back to store/ warehouse/ office to deliver it next day to me. Then he caught dengue fever and was not at work for 10 days. I threatened him with police complaint and he agreed to pay the amount back to me.
Soon after that call at 9:58 pm 26th oct 2018 mr. Deepak ([protected]) called from amazon transportation services and asked why i’m lodging a police complaint against his agent and advised that he will investigate and come back to me the next day. On 27th oct after repeated chasing he advised at 3:51 pm that the package is lost and that the delivery agent is responsible and he will pay my money back. He also mentioned that there is no point doing a police complaint as they have not done any theft and that the police might end up taking money from me itself!!
Money has not come to me yet as on 29th oct 2018. Moreover, i am not interested in getting cash from someone. Amazon india is responsible for proper delivery of the item to customer. I, as customer, have no concern of what agents, vendors, carriers or means they use for delivering the item.
I have call recordings for all of the above and was sent to amazon india promptly. Upon which, to my surprise, amazon india has the same stand as before and claiming that the package was delivered to the customer and no action or refund can be authorized. They also sent me contact details of their legal dept to send legal notice.
I raised multiple complaints at amazon customer care with audio proofs of phone conversation, but the problem was not even acknowledged, let alone resolved. They still think that the package was delivered to me.
Now i feel cheated and mentally harassed by this kind of pathetic service from amazon india. These giant e-commerce websites are openly looting people and are relying on our crippled law and order situation where consumers cannot exercise their rights properly. However, i will now have to move to legal ways of dealing with this problem.
Amazon India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
