Do not use Agoda app for hotels booking

I booked a hotel in Manali through Agoda for a three-night stay from 25 May 2026 to 28 May 2026. I chose Manali Castle because Agoda had given it good reviews and ratings.

Before my arrival, the hotel manager, Pankaj Sharma, called me and asked for a 25% advance payment for the booking. I transferred the amount online through Google Pay.

Not providing gst invoice

Agoda not providing GST hote bill

Recently we had booked four multiple day stays at Delhi for a expo. As per India GST act and rules, no gst registered entity can deny for providing gstin tax invoice specifying customer gstin no. Agoda is providing only the payment receipt, which is of no use to me, since the same cannot be used for taking gst credit. The hotels associated with agoda says, the agoda will provide the invoice. Hotel Refund not being processes

I had booked a stay in Ludhiana for 2 nights at Nirvana luxury Resort. Upon arriving the receptionist was extremely rude, and refused to accept the passport as proper means of identification given the user was a british citizen. On showing her the OCI, she further requested identification of other family members who weren't even present on site.

On feb 7 2022, i booked rooms for feb8- feb 9 2022 in OCEAN SPRAY HOTEL ( (Bonjour Bonheur Ocean Spray ) puducherry through Agoda app . But i didnt get my booking id or any confirmation yet.
I contacted agoda customer service, they were saying, agoda has not recieved any money but i contacted my bank - bank officer providing me transaction id and showing its recieved to AGODA app...

Refund not received

It has been more than a month since Agoda has initiated a refund of ₹3943 but I haven't received it yet in my bank account. Agoda has provided me with all the refund details and has adviced me to raise a complaint in the bank....

    I am writing to bring to your attention a case of misleading practices and refusal to refund by Agoda, which I believe constitutes an unfair and unethical business practice.

    Details of the Incident:

    1. Misleading Cancellation Messaging:
    On 17 December 2024, I booked the above activity through Agoda for amountof Rs.1734.59/-through my hdfc creditcard ending in xxxx 8530. Due to a change in plans, I canceled the booking within a few hours. During the cancellation process, Agoda's platform explicitly highlighted "Free Cancellation" and displayed a message stating that a refund was being processed. Based on this clear communication, I proceeded with the cancellation.

    2. Refusal to Refund:
    Despite the above, Agoda has now refused to process my refund, citing a "25-hour cancellation window" policy. This was not clear during the booking process and was directly contradicted by the system's messaging at the time of cancellation.

    3. Unfair Policy for Short-Notice Bookings:
    The booking was made within 25 hours of the activity's start time, making it practically impossible to comply with the stated policy. Applying such a policy to last-minute bookings without flexibility is highly unreasonable.

    4. Agoda's Lack of Accountability:
    When I raised this issue with Agoda, they responded by stating that their policy was "clearly mentioned." However, they failed to address the contradictory and misleading messaging during the cancellation process, which was the basis of my decision.

    Complaint and Request: I believe Agoda’s actions amount to a scam, as they:
    - Misled me with false or contradictory information during the cancellation process.
    - Refused to honor the refund despite their platform indicating otherwise.
    - Failed to provide fair and reasonable flexibility for short-notice bookings.

    I request ConsumerComplaint.in to:
    1. Investigate this matter and take necessary action against Agoda.
    2. Assist in ensuring that I receive a full refund for my canceled booking.
    3. Help raise awareness to prevent other consumers from falling victim to such deceptive practices.

    I can provide screenshots of the cancellation process, Agoda's communications, and relevant evidence to support my case.

    I had booked a Deluxe room in "Col's Uphaar Hotel" in Mhow(Madhya Pradesh, India) for which I had paid Rs 2187/-. However, despite confirmation from agoda, the concerned hotel refused to confirm the accommodation and I had to hire another accommodation at a higher rate .

    It not only disturbed me but also adversely affected my pre scheduled meetings during my official visit to Mhow.

    The matter was reported to agoda on the same date but I am surprised to see that nobody from agoda even cared to call me back. Even after 3 days of cancellation of my booking, I am yet to receive the full refund from agoda .
    Please immediately refund the entire amount to me without any further delay.

      After making a confirmed booking through Agoda and paying the full amount, I contacted the hotel directly to confirm my reservation. To my surprise, they informed me that there was no booking under my name or contact number.

      I immediately contacted Agoda’s customer support, and initially, I was told that you were checking with the hotel. After several hours, I was informed that my booking was not successful and that a refund can be issued. However, by this time, alternative hotels for the same date (31 December 2024) have become significantly more expensive.

      Given that I have already made non-refundable travel arrangements for this pre-planned 5-day trip, including flights, which cost me approximately ₹35, 000 to ₹40, 000, I find this situation unacceptable. I have spent an entire day in discussions with your customer service team, which has not only wasted my time but also disrupted my travel plans.

      I am requesting the following resolutions:

      1.Agoda should either book an alternative hotel of similar rating for 1 night (31 December 2024 - 1 January 2025) in Varkala, Kerala as per the hotel of my choice or compensate me for the difference in hotel costs now that prices have increased.
      2.Immediate full refund for the failed booking along with compensation
      3.Compensation for the time and inconvenience caused by this issue, as well as for the increased costs I am now facing due to Agoda's failure to secure my original booking.
      4. My whole trip refund along with compensation.

      I trust that Agoda values its customers and will resolve this matter promptly. Please respond to this complaint as soon as possible, as my travel plans are at risk.

        I am writing to raise a complaint regarding my recent booking (ID: [protected]) for a stay at Townhouse 040 Global Village Tech Park on September 28, 2024.

        Upon arrival at the property after a long and exhausting journey, I was informed by the receptionist that all rooms were fully booked and that they could not accommodate my reservation, despite the confirmation I received from Agoda. This situation was particularly distressing, as I had relied on the "Pay at Hotel" option, believing it would guarantee my booking.

        The receptionist suggested I file a complaint with customer care, which was of little help at the moment. With all my luggage in tow, I was forced to search for alternative accommodations in Bangalore. After considerable time and effort, I finally checked into another hotel at around 8:30 PM, paying approximately ₹6000 for that same night. This was not only an unexpected expense but also a significant disruption to my travel plans.

        I find it unacceptable that Agoda offered a "Pay at Hotel" option without clearly communicating the risks involved. I would like to understand why I was not informed that payment was necessary to secure my booking, and why this critical information was not provided beforehand.

        Given the circumstances, I am requesting proper compensation for the additional costs incurred and the inconvenience caused. I believe this situation warrants a thorough review and a response to ensure that future customers do not face similar issues.

          I Booked A Hotel Through Agoda On 22nd Of December 2023 For Two Days(24-26 Dec 2023) With Booking ID [protected]. I Paid 13, 467 Rupees For The Same. After Few Days I Got Notified By My Bank That The Transaction Has Been Converted Into 24 Months Of EMIs. I Was Shocked As I Never Requested For It In The First Place. According My Credit Card Company, I Will Be Liable To Pay Additional 2200 Rupees Of Interest Plus 119 Rupees As Processing Fee For The Same In 24 Months . When I Raised The Concern With My CC Company, They Informed That The Request For EMI Conversion Was Made From The Merchant's End(Agoda Company). When I Confronted Agoda On This, First They Kept Delaying The Response And When They Reverted Back After 2 Weeks, They Informed Me That The Emi Request Was Made From My End But Failed To Provide Any Proof For The Same. I Informed That I Never Requested For It And It Does Not Even Make Sense To Convert A Transaction Of 13, 467 Rupees To 24 Months Of EMI That Too Paying 2500 Rupees Additionally. If I Can Afford To Pay 13467 For 2 Nights, I Can Definitely Pay It One Time And There Was No Need To Convert It Into EMI And That Too For 24 Months. Agoda Then Requested Me To Speak To CC Company And Request For Foreclosure. I Did The Same But I Was Informed That I Will Be Required To Pay 3% Foreclosure Charges And Additional Gst Charges On The Principal Amount. When I Communicated The Same To Agoda, They Refused To Pay The Foreclosure Charges And For This Reason I Am Not Able To Close My Credit Card EMIs. I Need Help With This.

            I had booked a hotel accomodation using agoda.com
            I got hotel booking confimation from the agoda.

            when I reached hotel for check-in. Hotel refused to give me room stating that they never accepted any booking.

            I had to search for another hotel at midnight with family and paied hefty amount for this.

            when I have contacted the agoda support and expain this. they put my call on hold and tried to contact the hotel owner and reverted back that they are not able to contact hotel fellow.

              I booked a hotel in Pondicherry through agoda site in November month booking id: [protected], they took the total amount at the booking time and sent me a booking success confirmation message.
              But now they are saying the booking is rejected by hotel, it's too late to notify me. I booked flight tickets for the whole family based on agoda hotel booking confirmation. Now all my flight tickets will be wasted.

              I made a booking a month ago, it's unfair to reject a booking after a month and they kept my money for one month. It's cheating to give fake booking confirmation.

              They are offering me agoda cash it is not useful to me. In November month hotel room prices were less now the hotel room prices are huge.

                This establishment closed its business long back. It was a horrible experience going to that location. I have tried reaching out to Hotel customer care and Agoda customer service.
                I request you to remove this property listing from AGODA website.

                I will raise a customer forum complaint against Agoda and OYO now. I was stuck midday with luggage on middle of the road. I had to search other hotel at that time. I had to incur huge expense due to this horrible mistake of yours.

                  Hello,
                  I made a hotel booking on Agoda on August 15. On 23rd Of October, with over 2 months of time left for the actual date, I tried to cancel the booking.
                  I called up the hotel and they said as the booking was made on the website, I need to cancel there. On the website, I am trying to cancel and the penalty is greater than the booking price. There is 2 months to go and the hotel can get the rooms booked in time.
                  My complain is how can a website make a room cancellation non-refundable when there is ample time left.
                  This website does not have a customer care number where I can reach. Plans change and people should be able to alter it especially when there is over 2 months left.

                      I have booked the hotel between 8th to 10th sep and it was three star hotel (HOTEL SAPPHIRE By FAIR HOSPITALITY)mentioned on Agoda.
                      We reached to hotel by 3 pm, asked for towel they sent by 9 pm in night.started tv, light gone, again started tv, setup box start noising aloud, called for support took two hours with 4 staff again and again new person came and check the device. Says tv is faulty then other came and saying setupbox is faulty and then third came and says it is working now.
                      Started ac, not working
                      In morning we started hot water for bath, no hot water, asked staff says hot water will come now.
                      After half an hour again complaint, staff say no hot water available as we don't have geyser only solar panel is there and we have to wait till sun will boil the water.
                      It is really very bad situation for me with family and kid. They have charges more than 10k from us for this pathetic service. I want my complete return and to remove the hotel from Agoda website.

                        I booked a stay with agoda on May 17, 2023. They were claiming a cashback on that purchase ($50.93) after 60 days from checkout. As per this, i requested for the cashback after 60 days from checkout, but they are not responding even after several complaints. I tried to contact their customer service several times, but they are not responding after made me wait for hours and days. They said some technical issue and all data got erased and they will off 10% of booking amount in agoda cash which is just 1/4 of the amount in cash back

                        THis is their response today "First of all we apologize for the delay updates.

                        In regards to your issue, we have conducting investigation with our relevant team. However, we regret to inform you that we are not able to proceed with the cashback rewards, due to booking was amended to a lower amount."

                        No amount was amended or lowered. Neither does agoda allow us to pay less for the booking. Other sites were offering less amount, only because of the cashback . I want the cashback to be offered and government monitor such apps and compensation for multiple followups and harassment.

                          I have booked YOO Stack hotel using Agoda App. The checked in date is today I.e. 7th August and Check out is on 12th August. The booking Id is. [protected].
                          Today I tried to find the hotel on the location that is shared in booking but I couldn't find. The hotel is not present on that location. I bve tried calling property manager Nikhil Reddy [protected]. Which is mentioned on my booking. But this person is not even responding. I have tried several times but no luck. So finally I decided to book another hotel using OYO app and I booked the hotel. My sincere request to Agoda to cancel the booking and refund my money . And take action against such fraud hotel.

                            Recently I went to Sri Lanka, and it was my first international trip. Obviously, I wanted it to go hassle-free, so I made all my hotel bookings beforehand.
                            I made a hotel booking from Agoda for 21-22 July. The hotel's name is Villa Thawthisa The Boutique Hotel, Unawatuna. Booking ID- [protected]
                            This was a very traumatic experience. The hotel did not honor our booking. The hotel staff was very very rude and we were legit told by the manager that “You have not made a booking through us directly and you have booked through Agoda, go ask Agoda to give you the room. We are not going to give you the room unless you cancel the Agoda booking and pay 130 USD to us”.

                            We were unable to contact Agoda Customer Support via call, the only way to contact them was via email and the responses were very slow. Agoda staff kept telling us by mail that the booking is confirmed whereas the hotel was not honoring our booking and was rude to us.

                            After this, we had to book an overpriced room in another hotel offline due to the short notice. Ideally, we should be compensated for our troubles plus you should give us an apology and assurance that this will never happen again.

                            I am going to attach the email conversations with Agoda.

                            Plus I request everyone to not rely on Agoda at least for international trips.
                            It was a very traumatic experience and they are not even refunding my money. I request Agoda to compensate me for this experience.

                              I book an hotel room online through agoda.com for date 15/04/2023 for 1 day at katra Jammu for Rs 550.
                              When I reached the hotel they refused to live with this booking in hotel and they asked me to pay Rs 1200 for room, the booking and hotel management tell me that your booking is not valid we closed our deal with Agoda.com, till now they didn't refund my amount

                                I booked a stay with agoda on jan 19, 2023. They were claiming a cashback on that purchase ($50.36) after 60 days from checkout. As per this, i requested for the cashback after 60 days from checkout, but they are not responding nor updating status on this. I tried to contact their customer service several times, but they are not responding after made me wait for hours.

                                  After completion of the trip, Agoda cashback rewards was activated. I was intimated that the rewards will be credited by 1 week. Still I have not received the cashback
