[Resolved] Airtel Digital TV — HELL CUSTOMER CARE | |||
I have purchased Airtel Digital TV on 28th of August 2011 and my customer id is [protected] . But i realized the big mistake i made by choosing such a irresponsible company as DTH service provider. I have following concerns: 1. Some time some channels shows the Connection lost screen (Error Code B0001). 2. In rain as well in drizzling it does not respond and hangs. 3. Whenever I called customer care they give me same stupid solutions : * Restart your set top box. * Unplug your cable and reconnect. * Remove any obstacle in front of Dish. Airtel Digital TV — Channel Top ups not activated
I activated few top ups from the Airtel Digital TV Portal on my Subscription. However, the channels have not been activated and also I have not received any form of acknowledgement regarding this. This is not acceptable considering the advertised customer experience claim of Airtel Digital TV.Yaseen

I have booked a Airtel DTH connection through the customer care. The money paid through credit card. They have not kept the promise of dish installation. Initially, I do not want them to install the set -off box on the next day, I the money is in their hands, I forced to accept the installation. The person who installed told that, it will be activated with in half an hour. My customer ID is [protected]. But after 3-4 days it was not activated. Hence I asked them take back the dish and pay back the amount. I am sending the request to pay back the money through emails as well as telephone calls. Response to email is computer generated one and the call centers are keeping the phone out saying that I am connecting to my supervisor. After so many complaints why we are not able to take any action on this company? I am planning to lodge a complaint in the consumer forum. Is any one wants to accompany me?

Airtel Digital TV — STB not giving any output to TV
I have Airtel Digital TV connection at my home (Customer Id: [protected]). It is not working for last two weeks. I have been continuously trying to register my complaint on their Customer care number ([protected] and[protected] but it is always either busy or nobody picks phone even in the working hours of 9 AM to 5 PM. I tried to contact them with their HELP message service on 54325 and had also put mail on their email-id [protected]@airtel.in. But everything went in vain and I kept on paying for the services over two weeks without actually having services from them.After 10 days when I was lucky to get connected to Customer care, I thought it was a milestone achieved and expected my problem will be resolved but again I was mistaken.
Reaching customer care executive on the line was difficult, as there was a long waiting time over the menu asking for different unnecessary options along with their their marketing ads on IVR. Once connected the executive asked for the same questions which you had answered already over the IVR. During all these 15 minutes had elapsed and forget the solution for my problem, it was not even listened to up to this time.
Finally when it came to my problem the executive kept me hanging for another 15 minutes asking a series of stupid questions and then hanging on after each one with airtel tune frustrating you further and everytime coming back with an idiotic statement "Sorry for the long delay".
After spending another fifteen minutes with the mindless customer care executive the reply I get is that the service engineer will visit you at 3 PM with mandatory service charges to be paid to him and my complaint no. 8757126; without even them having the courtesy to ask me my availability; as if we customers are fools because if the problem has to be resolved by the service engineer the entire conversation should have taken at most 10 minutes not 32 minutes.
Airtel is misusing its market position, harrowing us and misbehaving with us as if we are slaves of the company who have made a grave mistake by taking its services and thus paying for it. The service delivery and customer’s problem redressal by the company is doubtful as:
we will be provided with their damn services (for which we are paying from our pocket) whenever they will want to give otherwise it is not working,
our problems will be listened whenever they will want to listen and rest of the case they don't pick your phone or give a tamed reply on emails if you try to register your problem with emails "this is a computer generated reply. our executive will contact you soon. kindly do not (dare to) reply"; and
it will be their wish to either resolve your problem or not because in my case the service engineer didn't turned up at the fixed time.
This was I got for a solution after spending harrowing 32 minutes over phone line (listening to their damn ads, frustrating airtel tune and they have hired which in sophisticated language are called customer care executives) and that too at my cost as Airtel Customer care is not toll free and if you try to contact through that toll free number you just keep on trying you will never succeed.
I had taken a leave on that day to attend to the service engineer but I think Airtel didn't thought it wise to either resolve my problem or to inform me as if my time has any importance to them because neither they called up about rescheduling their visit nor they even picked my phone again.
To end I would request all the prospective customers to kindly not to take any of the Airtel services especially Digital TV because this is not the first instance but everytime any problem occurs same thing is repeated. Even my friends using other Airtel services have also faced similar situations.
From this forum I would request all to avoid subscribing to Airtel services and if possible boycott it so that such companies do not exist which are harrowing the customer and making profits without even providing any service to the customer whcich he deserves.
I am taking some more steps and expect support from all of you in this regard.

AirTel — Mobile Tv Issue
This is my second complaint against AirTel for the same issue that is Mobile Tv!Last month when I filed a complaint, I appreciate that it was solved in few days! But Again the same issue has started, I'm every week getting charged RS 40 for Mobile Tv, Nor I have used it, Nor I can use it as I have A Blackberry, Nor I have subscribed to it!
I want an answer from Airtel that from last 4 weeks ive been totally charged Rs 160! I want the reason! Why Airtel?

I faced the same problem and am facing again now when i want the dish to be re-directed to the new satellite's direction. I have made three requests so far with no use.
Airtel Digital TV is a helll. We are using Airtel digital TV. The audio is not working on all channels for one month and we are making complaint after complaint but nobody is bothered to fix it properly. One day one technician came and found that the HDMI cable has to be replaced. He removed the hdmi cable and said he will replace it in two days and never came back. When we called him he said he left the job. We have made 5 complaints for this problem but tilll now the issue was not fixedd. The airtel customer care is horrible. I want get rid of this bloody stupidd airtel digital tv.

Dealer is not crediting my account for the said amount and is only recharging for the minimum amount which lasts us for less than one month. Now he is refusing to take my calls. As a result I've had to reacharge for Rs.250/- from another dealer.
I have tried calling Airtel customer care numbers, but there is no human interface where I can register a complaint.
I work for the Times of India and am in the process of writing about Airtels callous attitude and the dealers cheating ways. If I still do not get a response, I will most definitely contemplate legal action.

Airtel Digital TV — Customer ID - 3003860724 - Extremely Dissatisfied with Unresolved Relocation Request for Airtel Digital TV
Hi,I have placed a request for relocation of my digital tv to a new address 7-8 days back. I was assured that it would be done within 2-3 days but I haven't seen any action till date on this. I had to miss my official working day for an engineer's visit but the guy never showed up. This is extremely frustrating and not expected out of Airtel.

Thanks for attending it. I think it makes a difference when you add a complaint here rather than calling Customer service. So next time I will post my complaint here.

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — Adding top up never works
My Airtel Customer ID is [protected]. For almost a month I have been trying to add two channels to my Airtel package through their website. Jeevan TV (Malayalam) and Movies Now (English).When I added it, it will work for a day or two. I can see the channels added in my package in Airtel website. But from third day onwards the newly added channels vanish and they say it is not subscribed. The same channels disappear from my package as well.
I am tired of talking to Airtel Digital TV Customer service as first of all you can't reach the operator through the phone menu they provided. You have to try a different menu item, say Change package or add new channel and then you get to talk to them.
Second thing about Airtel Digital Customer service is they speak only Hindi even though they are taking from Chennai. No English. I can speak good Hindi but I am just wondering why they are insisting on speaking in Hindi even though I am calling from a Southern state.
I just tried adding the same channels and want to see if the same issue happens AGAIN. I am forced to submit complaint here as there is no other way I can get my service properly.
