I purchased a DELL Inspiron 6000 as per following details:

Service Tag : FQGFL71
Express Service Code: 34251456781
Date of Purchase : 17/09/2005
Merchant Name : AL-MAA COMPUTERS
Place of Purchase : Dubai, UAE
Amount paid : AED 5, 560.00

I do not have the original Invoice/ Receipt. However, I purchased the
Laptop using my Credit Card as per following details.

Card Type :VISA
Issuing Bank :HDFC Bank, India
Amount Charged:INR 69, 457.74
Transaction Reference:VT052620054
Less than a year after I purchased the above Laptop, the LCD display
became defective. It displayed vertical lines of varying thicknesses and colours. At the beginning they were not causing much problem but soon
they occupied more than 70% of the screen and it was impossible to use
the display. While this defect was developing, I was on a long
international tour and could not contact any DELL Service Center.

Eventually when I returned to Bahrain where I was stationed for a
reasonably long period, I was told by the local DELL dealer that the
Warranty had expired and that I had to pay for replacement of the LCD.
At that time I managed using an external monitor and did not pursue the matter further to have the LCD replaced.

I have been in Bangalore, India for the past few months when the Laptop's Hard drive crashed. I tried to contact the DELL Service Center for necessary
repair aganst payment. After advising them my Service Tag and my name, I was surprised to be told that the Laptop was not appearing in my name as per DELL Records. I was also told that unless I "established ownership" of the
Laptop, DELL could not give me any information or provide any assistance
in having the Laptop repaired (against regular payment!). I do not plan to visit UAE soon and do not have a visiting Card of the Salespersons so that I could contact them. All I can recollect is that I purchased the Laptop from a large showroom in a prestigious Mall at Dubai. I can not he held responsible for some error that the salesperson might have made in registering ownership details with your Systems.

One of your support persons said that DELL did not have any sales outlets in UAE. I am quite scandalized by these statements.
If DELL has such stringent processes in place which incidentally I am
not aware if any other company in Electronic Consumer durable Industry
follows, it should make them known to unsuspecting customers like me who
could be trapped into this kind of situations and who might have to
suffer protracted ordeals besides losses due to business discontinuity.

I requested DELL via e-mail, to please investigate this matter and advise me the next steps. Obviously all this has happened due to some errors/ lapses. I
would like to know who are esponsible for these, what action DELL is
proposing to take and what action/ legal recourse is available to me.

To this I received a reply saying
"This request is being closed.

There is an issue with the Tags or the Account below, that prevents
ownership transfer or country to country transfer.

You will need to contact the original purchase country's, which is the
United States, customer service or financial department to discuss
resolving the issue.

Once resolved you can resubmit the transfer request, use the following
link to do so."
On explaining the position again and requesting thier action, DELL replied as follows:
Hello,

Thank you for your reply. However, there is nothing we can do for you.
You did not purchase the computer from Dell and our records show that this service tag is from the US and is on hold and cannot be transferred, there is no manufacturer warranty on this item.

You will need to work with the company that you purchased this from to see if there is any warranty from them that they will honor.

This is being closed as transfer is not possible.

I bought a Dell cell during the month of March and within 2 months it was not working properly. So I went to Dell services where they took my cell and promised to replace me with another new one within 15 days. But for the last 2 months I have been calling them regularly to know about the status and also gone directly but their reply was a constant one saying that i will receive it 2 or 3 days. This is the constant answer they are giving. Even I was ready to get another model at extra cost but still no response from the dell people. Now I am not able to purchase a new cell also. This was not the service expected from you people.

Dell — about laptop

I bought a new dell laptop about 3 months before from australia..its Dell INSPIRON, model no. N5110.
Service tag no. is BBMRRP1
The problem is that whenever i use windows media player or whenever my mouse pointer is idle for sometime, it stick to a place and does not move easily or it becomes out of control. but this problem is not very frequent, it occurs occasionally.
One of my friend also bought a new dell laptop from india, she is also facing the same problem, so i think it has something to do with TOUCHPAD SETTINGS.
So i kindly request you to guide me through these settings so that i can set it accordingly..
I complained for the same twice at customer service, they asked me to download TOUCHPAD DRIVER SETTINGS from supportdell.com but that was of no use..
please respond to my complaint as possible......

Dell — smoke and electric shocks from laptop

Hi,

My name is sunil and i bought dell XPS notebook two years back . I had an issue few days ago so I called dell tech support who ask me to do update due to which the motherboard was crashed . They replaced motherboard 4 times but unable to fix the issue and now smoke is comming out of it .
I called dell again and they said that they will not take care of the issue now as the issue which i had call for has been resolved.
Please help
You can take a leagal action against such behavior.

Dell — Embezzlement in selling

Respected Sir /Madam,

With due respect , I am student MBA 3rd sem. at DAVIET Jalandhar. I have purchased a laptop of Dell company from Fastrack Computing Limited.Sec. -20C Chandigarh on dated 6 March. 2011. There is a problem in my laptop that it is get hanged after running half an hour. As there is a warranty of one year i have called the technical support of Dell, and I come to know that system is imported from Thailand & registered on the name of shop owner . So only Shop owner can call to Dellcare for technical support . When I told this to shop-owner he refused to transfer the registration on my name & he also said that we will charge for servicing of your laptop . I want to refund my total money.So please give me the suggestion what i will do.I shall be thankful to you.

Dell — laptop not working properly but there customer services are not responding.

laptop is very much important for me as i do daily work on it n in my newly purchased lappi there are lots of problem like bluetooth not working,touchpad not working etc and i am callinf customer care every day but non of them are responding.i m in trouble.plz help.

I BOUGHT DESKTOP(LED) FROM A STORE WITH 3 DAYS TABLE REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE (WRITTEN ON HIS BILL) . THAT SHOP OWNER IS NOT GIVING A REPLACEMENT AND IS ABUSING US, EVEN IF HIS PRODUCT IS FAULTY. Dell — i get stone in my laptop box

sir , i pay 31,100 /-for dell inspiron 14r(n4110) at 2-oct but today i get parshal from blue-dart 19-oct i see one stone in laptop box no laptop and other box with laptop box is ok , and shil of laptop box is not broken when i brock it then i see this stone,

Dell — Service not done within time

Hello,

I had given a complaint in dell which was to repaired with 3 working days for free as the product is under warranty but even 5 working days the problem is not yet solved.
When i called up the customer care to report the same, they sounded least bothered and are giving excuses.

Dell — DELAY IN DELIVERY OF !%R INSPIRON

I have placed a order on 30Oct2011 from DELL Exclusive showrrom in MUMBAI.
I didnot recieve any call for order confirmation after that.

When i call to TOLL Free no to ask abt my Laptop, They told me as Order was placed on 4th November(6 days delayed) and currently order was cancelled.

After three more days thy gave me another Order number[protected]. Its showing still wrk in progress status.
I really don know whether I ll get my Laptop this year or not.

I would really like to know whther will I get any compensation for my order or not and also when exactly my lapto[p will get delivered.

Dell — Money taken 2 twice from credit card for single purchase

I have purchase Dell laptop warranty extension. The sales executive asked me to do payment through credit card. I paid using the telephone transaction as per the service executive. The service executive have charged me twice from my credit card. When I contacted the Dell customer care they said that they will refund the ammout to me.
But, even after two months they have not refunded the money.
I have called 100 times the customer care but every time they are connecting me to the same sales executive and every time the service executive says that he is working on my request but no action taken till date.
Can any one kindly tell me how to escalate the issue.

Dell — False Statement

This is Saravanan From Bangalore, I gave my Dell Streak to to Dell Service Center on 12/10/2011 for the Display Damage.

They gave in the Written statement that i will get my mobile back in 2 business weeks. (Slip Which they Provided)

But, Its been two months still i did't get the mobile.

Even when i call there is no Proper Response.
