I purchased an LG Scarlet 32" LCD TV in July 2008. The warranty expired in July 2009. LG has made no attempt to warn me of the expiry of the warranty and have not given me the option of taking an AMC. They are offering this facility selectively to people and not sent me any communication about this.
I had a problem last month and LG engineer first gave a cost of Rs.12,000/- Then they revised it and said two more components need to be replaced and revised the costing to Rs.24,000/- After I raised some dust they took the TV and brought it back after a week with a revised quote for Rs.12,000/-
First a TV costing 40,000 failed completely in less than 15 months, which talks of the quality of the set. Then, the company cheats by not offering AMC to all customers which is against the MRTP rule. Then they have not been able to come to a firm conclusion on the cost of repairs. Their treatment of the complaint and response to me has been lethargic and irresponsible. What is the action I can take against them? Was this information helpful? |
