Our prime minister is making all efforts to bring business from abroad. This will require our sincere and honest efforts to conduct the business in fair way. Any international company has the code of conducts and business ethics. Why we should not follow such ethics?
I understand that Hathway cable and Datacom Pvt. Ltd, a company having national business in Internet should also follow the ethics in doing the business and stick to the commitments.
I am a senior citizen, with national and international experience in my profession but was surprised with the attitude of their staff in dealing with the Internet ( Wi Fi ) installation at my residence cum office. I am involved with consultancy work, sometimes has to communicate at international level also.
On 7th of May, 2015 on my request Hathway Marketing engineer visited my residence and agreed to provide Internet –Wi Fi facility at my residence. Self-explained him my work place, location of Lap Top from where I will be interacting with others and conducting my work. He confirmed the availability of Wi Fi range in my residence as this being a relatively smaller flat.
Self-paid Rs. 3750, the required amount for installation facility cum operational facility for some specific period. Receipt for the same was given by Hathway engineer.
Installation was completed in couple of days and modem was installed. During next couple of days Hathway engineer visited with Router to commission Wi-Fi.
Due to ease in cable routing the modem was placed in drawing room close to TV location. Hath way engineer installed Router along with the Modem, which was installed close to TV? After connections, he insisted I should work from this Router installed location as Wi Fi range will not be available in my study location. This obvious was not acceptable to me, as my requirement was to work from my study and was committed by Hathway. I also needed lot of reference documents to work on technical work. Max distance from Modem location to study location is around 10 M. Since he has shown his inability to make available Wi Fi range as agreed by his sale engineer, I had to request him that this Router and installation is not acceptable to me and he should take it back, he took back the router and advised me to return the modem to his office.
Further requests and number of e-mails to their Pune office had no response from Hathway, which was a great surprise to me.
Since Hathway was not able to provide me the committed facility, I requested to return my advance and even if so desire Hathway can deduct partial installation charges, though not my fault.
Soon after I was offered an internationally connected assignment at Gurgaon and requested Hathway to take back Modem as I have to leave Pune. As hatchway has no facility to pick up the Modem, self-had to leave the same in their office.
After returning to Pune, I tried to revive my request with their engineer. He asked me to provide Account No. and address which I sent through SMS as requested.
On contact, he asked me to speak to his senior, on speaking to senior person, I was again directed to inform him my Account and address through SMS. This was complied with again.
BUT NO ACTION, NO REPLY WAS ONLY RESPONSE
For me money is not big issue, I have already secured alternative Wi Fi connection, what is important, how honestly the business is carried out by such organization, especially when we have to do international business. I am of opinion that Hath Executives must be conveyed such a case situation through your organization.
