This is regarding my notion that hathway cable & datacom pvt. Ltd. is really a company and delivers quality service to its clients. But yes today i really understood that this company is no more than a bunch of mis-managed people who themselves don’t know what quality is and what is the meaning of customer service.
I am an Analyst in a reputed company and require net connection all the time.
From the day I have opted this service i have been harassed like anything. On 4th Nov'2007 I called a sales executive Mr. Amit from Kandivali branch to get connection and complete all the formalities who took hardly few minutes to come down to collect cheque (HDFC bank cheque no-511276 of Rs.3933 for 512blast xtra-6 months 24hrs plan).the very next day the cable was laid down after continuous follow up. then its over as no one turned up then to install modem till 12th Nov'2007.Hence i instructed stop payment of the cheque after confirmation from the bank that till that day it was not debited from my account. in the mean while I used to continuously call Mr Amit, his senior Mr Ajit Sawant and the Borivali branch. Every time either I was assured that it will be done asap or was put on hold for long and disconnected.
So on the day I stopped payment of the cheque and informed Mr Ajit Sawant regarding this he said Ok they are not even interested to install the modem. Next day someone from the office called me and said that the mechanic is coming to fix the problem. As I needed the net service i agreed my presence at home so that he will finish his work and at last the issue gets resolved. But alas!! Again no one appeared till late evening.
Well it started by the end of the day and received my account no.-224374 but this was not the end of poor service as after a week or so the frequent disconnection of the net started and till now its persisting.
For this also I tried calling several touch points but no one turned their ears to the problem. at last I got the helpdesk number and lodged my complain (no.[protected] on 11th Dec'2007 the agent Mr Manoj said it will be resolved next day but I forgotten that these are mere a punch line for these people. Then after, I call at least thrice everyday to reduce my sufferings but I land nowhere.
For a service of Rs4000, i have almost spent around Rs.500 within a month to follow up for the same and still I am at the same plight. I wanted to write many things but by their service it seems that they all are busier in other services than customer service and that to when they take money in advance- trap them (customer) and leave them (customer) with their repentance. This is really a best practice to earn money and is setting examples for others.
If this is again not a warning call then I need to go to legal.

Hathway — Refund and Redressal
I had hired internet services of M/s Hathway Broadband Internet on Jan 16, 2007. The package was for six months with 3GB download capacity. During these six months the service was never reliable. It had lot of interruptions and the service practically came to halt in the month of April 2007. Due to these problems we were unable to utilize even 50% of the download capacity offered by the package, apart from the agonycaused by the inturrupted services.
Despite being aware of the problems faced by us, Hathway sent a
reminder for renewal of the package, for the service that was
practically non-functional since April 2007.
After prolonged communication, Hathway confessed that they are unable to provide these services in our locality. They even agreed
to refund all the money that was paid by us for this package.
As I was out of India, I had told Hathway not to take away their equipment (Modem) till I return to Mumbai. Based on my experience with them, I had told them to take the Modem only after sending the refund cheque. However, their technicians visited our house in my absence and took away the modem by misleading my 80 year old mother. After taking the situation in their control Hathway is ignoring my requests for the refund as agreed earlier.
So far, I have written 40 emails to Hathway on this issue which should have been resolved long ago.
