    I am an ex-subscriber of Broadband services from Hathway.com. From the day of installation, I faced frequent disconnections in service and frustrated by what I consider a deficient service, I raised a ticket with their helpdesk in the last week of March (Approximately between 26th to 29th), and stopped using the services. I have also paid up the bills in advance for the month of March. The representative from Hathway disconnected the service only in the fourth week of April and is now demanding payment for services I have not availed. Even otherwise, if I take into account the number of hours or days I have faced disconnections (can be verified by the number of calls I have made to Hathway to register the complaint), I should infact be given a refund for deficient service. Despite reasons which sound genuine, I believe it is the responsibility of the service provider to ensure that the customer does not face the frequent disconnection, and in this respect Hathway has failed. This prompted me to use the services of another service provider. Below is an extract of my email sent to Hathway recently:

    I am losing my patience with your emails. I am not sure if anybody at Hathway understands English. I have made it very clear in my earlier emails as well as my calls to your helpdesk that I am not going to pay for any bills. I re-iterate that I had requested disconnection of the service in the last week of March 2009 - against which I had already paid the subscription amount. I stopped using the service during the month of March 2009 itself. It is not my fault if your service engineer arrives in the third week of April for disconnection. You can remove your helpdesk call records to verify the validity of my statement above. I have called up as recently as about a month ago to your helpdesk to record my statement. Any more emails or mails or communication in any other form in this regard will not be appreciated and I promise to take you to the consumer court for harassment.

    Further, if you do maintain a record of all my calls to the helpdesk, then you will notice that on an average every alternate day I have called up to complain about "No Connectivity". I would always get one or the other reason like maintenance, cable cuts, etc. I believe that you wouldn't want me to take you to the court for deficient service. Even at the time of disconnection, I stated this as the reason. I hope Hathway will stop fooling around with its customers.

      Hi,

      I am a resident of West Marredpally and requested for a broadband connection from Hathway Cable Co. The agent named Raghava / Raghu ([protected]) came to my residence duly collected all the necessary documentation w.r.t residence proof and Id proof. He also collected a crossed cheque in the name of Hathway Cable Network Pvt Ltd for an amount of Rs 1495/-. The cheque was collected on 18th July and cleared by the bank on 23rd July. When I followed up to my surprise the agent recklessely says that unfortunately connection cannot be established at my residence, and I need to go and submit the receipt in person at the address mentioned on the receipt in order to get reimbursed.
      IS THIS SOME KIND OF A JOKE. Does he not know he needs to wait before submitting the cheque for payment to know if a connection can be established to the said address, and when it was his fault he should do the needy to get my money back. The agent is so irresponsible that he does not answer my call anymore. Is it my fault that you collected my money in advance?????
      I want appropriate action to be taken against the agent for his reckless and irresponsible behaviour. His phone number is [protected].
      If Hathway has some business etiquetts and values its customers please look into this matter and take the necessary action.

      raghava — cheque clearing

      sir given a cheque for clearing on 24/12/2010 for an amount 4700/-(four thousand seven hundered) onlythat cheque belongs to mr K Chiranjeevi of New Delhi belongs to Andhra Bank A P Bhawan Branch
      upto know no any information in this connection i approched branch for 5 to 7 times but alway s they say s we send it for colection that s the final answer from ........
      i requst kindily do the above ............as earliy as .................thk Q

        My Hathway SET TOP BOX is not working since 2 months. The local cable operator took away saying the same shall be replaced free of cost.. Till date there is no response & they too are blaming the HATHWAY company that ... they are not responding...

        Hathway — No response to my requirement of set top box

        First, there is no option available in their website for lodging complaints. No email ID given. That itself means that they are customer un-freindly...

        I have been requesting their local dealer for set top box, they do not seem to be interested. No idea whom to approach...

        i am kishor adhikari stay in thane distict . Before 8 month i have purchase set up box. and reason behind purchase of this set up box that there is channel no 884 international channel name is nepal 1 tv was activated . From ur side after 2 month this channel diactivated.

        i request to u that we r from nepal but in ur service there is no any nepali channel so plz activate this channel as soon as posible. i am not telling that ur service is bad but instead of other channel we want nepal 1 tv so plz activate this channel . I waiting for ur reply as soon as posible . i hope that u can understand my feeling or requirement and reply to me on my contact which is mention below .

          I have taken internet connection from hathawy, and I have vacated my rented house from last six months,
          but I got bill of Rs.3093/- ( Rs.Three thousand ninty three) on my e mail address, I havn't used internet from past six months still they are sending the bill to me, what is the meaning of this?

          I suggest be very careful before taking the HATHWAY INTERNET CONNECTION.

            I have already complained to Hathway costumer care since last week.
            Nut there is no solution for HATHWAY INTERNET.
            I m not getting My Internet Connectivity after 6:30 PM..
            If I got connect with it then there is no speed on NET...
            It take time around 10 Mins. to open 1 Web page..
            And at Noon i m getting my downloading speed only 13 - 14 KBPS..
            My plan is 150 - 300 KBPS..
            But I m not Getting My speed as they Told us Wen I Payed them for Internet..

            same here!!!
            the last 2 weeks [july last week & august 1st week] -- there is almost no connectivity...
            the modem does not get connected at all!!! [in the nights especially]
            if it is connected, web pages do not open, torrents do not work ...-- nothing works at all!!!
            this is something serious... & needs to rectified quickly

            Hathway — NO Connectivity & Bad service provider

            It feels very sad to have Net service of Hathway.

            I m facing the problem of NO CONNECTIVITY @ ma residence from last 1 week, I launched compliants thrice, called customer care on 67134690 got replied of sendiong theier engineer @ ma place to resolve the issue.Till yet their is no Positive feedback nor any of their Engineer visited ma place update the things.
            Hathway is not having a single penny of Customer service OR I can say it is not having any type of customer service .

            I will recommend the new user who are planning to take Internet service @ their home place OR for commercial use then pls try AVOID USING INTERNET SERVICE OF HATHWAY.

              slow speed

              I am Manoj I had taken Hathway 128kbps quaterly plan in january by giving 1200 and at that point of time sales person told me that I can renew the plan and didnt tell me that after 3 months my monthly charge would be 500 rupees.

              After completion of three months nobody intimated me that my plan is over and I should renew it or charges would be extra.

              Now in the month of may they are telling me that my outstading bill is more that 1000. and even I didnt receive the bills every month.

              Fine I was ready to pay it I mailed them to disconnect the connection and come to my place to collect the bill I even called the customer care. But no body came.
              after that I shifted to new place and they are calling me and saying me to pay the bill the point of time when I had money I asked them to come nobody came Now I dont have money.


              Can Anyone suggest me What can I do with this I have proof of mail which I had sent to them.

              Hathway Broadband Services — IMproper Service

              I have a six month subscription of hathway internet, every morning, the internet does not work. after multiple complaints, the internet service provider does not seem to care.

              they do not have a sense to talk, nor do have reliable answers.
              even i am facing same problem now.

              they just say your complaint is forwrded to the engineers and will be resolved soon but weeks have passed no but the problem still persists.

              internet not working

              have been totally traumatised as hathway has zero technical support and a bunch of liars working as their technical support...have spent last three days just begging them for an engineer and all i have received is false assurances

                i am a regular customer of this hathway internet.now i have shifted to a new address within my campus and had applied for shifting of the connection.but even after repeated complaints the work has not been done and all my complaints have fallen into deaf ears.plz look into the matter and do the needful.OLD ADDRESS-dr.chinmayee patra, , room no 706, new rmo quarters, nair hospital, mumbai central-400008

                  I HAVE TAKEN INTERNET SERVICE FROM HATHWAY internet service but not working for last two month only connect for one or two hour in a day and rest of day always shows massager UNABLE TO CONTACT SERVER.
                  I HAVE DONE SO many complaint . but the person (dealer not attending well)

                  Now i wanted to back my montly charges rs-550/- for two months and security deposit rs-1700/-

                    Sir,

                    Even after so many reminders to you, your technical Dept. has not solved my probelm. Now I am really seriously thinking to disconnect your Internet connection at my place.

                    I think there is no control in your organisation to look after customer complaints. And this will be failure of your Top Management. If you give me a E-mail ID or the contact no. of your Senior most person in the organisation I would like to expalin him about your organisation failure.

                    Please do the calculation of my balance hours pending with you and settle my account by paying me the balance money and then you are free to disconnect the line. If this is not possible from your end then please let me know so that I can take my further course of action to recover my money.

                    Please do not only reply by email to this mail. I want a confirm action from your end.
                    Either you can rectiy the probelm and give me continuous connectivity in 24 hours or you can refund my money.

                    Kindly do the needful.

                    I have installed net connection of your most reputed broad band connection hoping that it has good and fastest networking service...but it is almost vice-versa of mentioned scenario.

                    As i have taken connection under the plan of ( New-Easy way- 6m ) speed 128kbs by depositing the amount of Rs 3034 subscription for six months..as i facing severe slowness during surficng as it takes
                    10to 15 minutes to open any internet sites.

                    Kindly look upon the same & confimred it immediately or else i have to withdraw my net services & relation with you

                    I have been complaining since last two weeks by sending mails to HELPDESK .

                    My first mail was sent to you on 3rd sept. 09

                    Second mail on 13th Sept.

                    Pleaese note that my subscription in going to expire in next 2 days and still I have not yet got any resolution for my problem, hence i am not going to renew the same.

                    Any further losses I bear out of your worse services shuold be taken care by your organisation.

                    I would like to add that your customer service department in not efficient enough to solve customer problems.

                    Business does not get over only after selling the product.

                    the hatway connection is very very poor, service.no customer satisfaction .i have paid 17000.for 600 kpbs speed and not geting even 50.this is the second time i am haveing loss due this service.plz dont use this servis.
                    This Email is to inform u that after calling to Hathway service center and also logging so much complaint at hathway the problem of noconnectivity remains every weekend that is from Saturday to Wednesday since last month I am not getting the connectivity and people at hathway are just giving me false assurance and nothing is improved am really unhappy from your their service.

                    Also I spoke to one of your executive named Prasad at 10:30pm on Monday 11, Jan, 2010, He disconnected my call without hearing my concern, so this type of customer service hathway provides.
                    My account page is not displaying, registered a complaint with the customer care but of no use, need to call a technical person is their reply. Kindly solve the problem ASAP.

                    hath way broad band connectivity problem and about careless tech support in bangalore.
                    I have been informing connectivity problem to bangalore tech support for last 1 month. These tech support people have no sense to come and check what is the problem. I am really fed up with hathway service. This problem is there for last one month and i have paid money for 6 months service.
                    Hatway Internet is always facing problem for no connectivity. and technical assistant are irresponsible they are not bother to satisfy customer.

                    I have taken Hathway connection in september since then I couldnt sit for surfing more than 5 minutes.
                    Very poor service hathway is giving. It is so bad that if I try to nevigate to another page connection goes off. Such a frustrating one to work with.

                      Sir,
                      I was connected with you for a few days, experiencing very bitter & slow network speed. The helpdesk ([protected]) are not attended by the staff, due to EPBX we customer are loosing money by telephone calls. How ever I want a best result from you to help me to get my play-site(www.superpokepets.com) loaded with its full features, now which will never loaded due to slow speed ( it always remain within 200 to 60 kbps, it measured by the Macafee speedometer.). So I hope you may help me in this respect to ensure the proper result. Thanking you.

                        On 5th July I have booked the 128kbps connection with Rs. 750 and I was told the connection will be given within 24 hours. Mr. Ramesh & Mr. Satya came to my place and told my connection will be completed by 6 July morning 10 a.m.-12a.m. But after repeated calls the technician finally came by 2p.m. and fitted the cable upto my room and told another person will come to give the final connection & modem. But nobody came upto night and whenever I called Ramesh he assured me that they are coming in just 10 minutes. On 7 July I again called them but nobody shoed the jesture to pick the call but when I called them from any new number they continued with their phrase "just 10 minutes" later telling about the nonavailability of Modems. Today 8th July again the same.
                        Now I want my money back and be rescued from these frauds.

                          Our local cable guy in Srinagar colony, hyderabad is intent on stealing money from users. I have moved into a house previously where my friends were staying.

                          The house already had a cable connection when we came and our friends gave us the details of the monthly payment as well. Now the cable guy is asking for a activation/set-up fee again saying it is a new connection since we are new in the house.

                          THis all when all the wiring is there already and the cable TV is working. It was never discontinued even for a day. He jus saw us for the first time and asked the neighbours if we are new to the house. He is threatening that if we refuse he will cut the connection and not allow cable TV in our house ever again.

                          A BUNCH OF THIEVES I SAY!!!

                            Hathway cable TV operators in Kundalahalli, bangalore charge 1000Rs-1500Rs deposit and Rs.250+ monthly for providing standard cable services. When customer requests to consider adding a popular channel to the basic band, rather than taking the request back to the office and considering it based on popular demand, the operator bluntly tells the customer 'This is what we will provide. If you want keep it, else disconnect your cable'.. This is a total harassment from the cable TV operators as they are aware that consumer is heavily dependant upon the cable services. Can somebody suggest what can be done in such circumstances please. How do we get to know whether there are alternate cable operators in the same area?

                            Local cable operator — cable charges

                            Hi all,

                            I am resident of Hadapsar, Pune. I moved to this place around 3 months ago. The local cable operator charged me 1500/- as cable installation charges and 350/- as the montly rent. I just want to check if this amount is what we are expected to pay for the cable TV?

                            I guess in Bangalore the charges are Rs 200/- PM & in Mumbai its 250/- PM. does this amount varies from city to city?

                            Please suggest....
                            This is not an isolated instance. Here at Vadodara (Gujarat) it happens almost every time the network fails. The customer care service here is just useless notwithstanding that they have about FOUR Tele lines and SIX Mobile Nos to cater for customer care services. It is not easy to contact the Tech Service. The tele-bells keep ringing. Even if they lift the telephone, the most common explanation would be that 'Hamara sab theek hai. There may be some hardware problem in your computer. Get your computer checked.' And god forgive if you try contacting on Mobile you will repent, the call recipient, leaving all courtesy behind, would blast - 'First you tell me who the hell gave you this number?'

I have been using this service since from 15 days. whatever said above is absolutely true. and i appreciate that he pointed this mistake, But who cares by writing here. However company is not worried about this issue, they are almost cheaters...

                            I got the hathway internet connection on 11.1.08.Interupption in connectivity is regular and also the free downloading time between 11pm to 9am it goes off. When contacted the customer service Mr. Madan, Technical staff treating me as a beggar and asking me wait for the connection and it may be restored as per their conveniance as if he is doing me a favour of giving connection. Actually I paid the money in advance. Mr.Prem the business development executive, who gave a lot of promise including stay online forever facility is accusing others in the organisation for not supporting him and accusing me that I am disturbing him frequently. But the real sufferer is the poor customer like me. 24x7 customer service they promise but after 11pm they are not attending the phone. I committed a great mistake by opting hathway without visiting this site. Phone manners of the hathway staff is also very poor. Those reading this better go for some other company for their internet connection. Even if I give e-mail to the company feedback section it is not reaching them and returning with failed to deliver message. This information should help others before going for internet broadband.                             It is the similar story with Hathway and their Cable operator in our area. I have also complained several times but the operator would not listen and threaten to disconnect the cable. Alternate cable operator of Hathway will not provide you the service as these guys have formed a cartel and are blackmailing consumers.

                            I have already written the complaint to Hathway and awaiting their response and in case I do not get a fair response I have made up my mind to approach TRAI, Consumer Court and other forums in this regard.

                            Hathway Bangalore Office at Sree Complex 4th floor 73 St John's Road Bangalore 560 042 gives 3 telephone numbers 41226955, 41226956 and 41226957. Have tried several times to get the line, the first number keeps ringing with no response, the second two numbers are not found, after many tries, someone answered the first number and all she said was it is a house number and banged the phone down, by this one can see the service Hathway is providing.

                            I agree with you people regarding the response from Hathway. It is really a bad experience with these people. I have been requesting to take thier box back from almost 4-5 months. The guys in our area (Indiranagar) always sir I am coming today, he never truerned up till today. I made him aprox 1000 calls. The reason for changing the service from Hathway to Airtel (before 3m months) was the same issue that Patrick said. Also the picture so bad and never clarified that issue. At home we used to alwasy restart the box for the problem and we became box operators for setting that issue right.

                            I have alos tried to the numbers listed by Patrick but all of them are saying, not found. Not sure what these guys are doing.

                            I took their set top box. Its card stopped working. When I contacted their service centre in Hyderabad, I was told that they would replace it free and told me to get the set to their office. I took it to the service centre and they demanded Rs. 600/-! The cost of the box is Rs. 1100/- only. I called their local head office. They do not even wish to listen to the complaint. I sent two emails to their head office and no reply.

                            I am Joel from Bangalore (Basava Nagar) using Hathway for long time. from Sept'12 onwards my Cable guy started asking 250+ as a monthly rental. i tried to contact HO but no response. is anyone in Bangalore using Al-a-carte option with Hathway?. Is any one get moneyback once you surrender the STB to the Cable operator(They told to pay 500 back to me once i return the STB). paying 250 monthly for not watching many channels is a waste. any suggestions ?
                            We have purchased and installed set top box from Chetan cable network at Kadrenahalli, padmanabhnagar, Bangalore in April 2013. We experienced frequent disturbances in voice and picture quality (breaking) we lodged several complain to our cable operator over phone but unattended except an assurance. From 17th May 2013 onwards many TV channels like Star, Zee, Suvarna etc are blocked but the operator not bother to reply to our calls.
                            Kindly confirm is it set top box problem or poor service by the cable operator

                            Disturbance while viewing the channels

                            On Z Marathi channel, after regular interval, this display is seen. It is disturbing. When contacted, Karve nagar - representative of Hathway in Karve Nagar, they do not give any satisfactory answer. This is happening for past 5 months.

                                The internet is not getting connected since last 10-15days and also the number fgiven on website is not reachable.Also I sent a person to their office on the address given, but there is no office at all.
                                Now we are stuck after paying the money and getting no response from Hathway. I also called up their Surat office but they had the same information about Baroda office.
                                There is definitely some legal action which should be taken against hathway for harrasement and running away with our mney and not providing service.

                                  I am not getting any feedbacks from Hathway for those mails,
                                  I paid my final settlement and terminated the account, (Find the attached bill and screen shot).

                                  I had been in 256 kbps plan, but I am receiving maximum download speed range of (20-25kbps in morning) and (5-10 kbps in peak hours).
                                  (I feel really terrible to continue this connection)



                                  For this same plan (256 kbps) my friends are paying total amount of 730/- rs only.
                                  (But I am compelled to pay 772.10/-rs per month (Subscription charge 700 + service tax and other taxes of 72.10))





                                  Kindly consider the above said facts and cancel my account as soon as possible,

But my connection got disconnected after 3 months (didn't get additional 15 days). Raised multiple complaints through call, App and mails to billingchennai and HelpdeskChennai, they are making fake promises but till I didn't get my connection activated. I don't recommend Hathway internet to anyone.

                                    am in the plan of 128unlimited. really i liked the way of working my net for first few days.
                                    then it always offline. some times unexpectedly its online. customercare is very poor ever i have seen.
                                    please u people take nesseary action to rectify he problem. r else i hav to decide to cut the connection.

                                      I have your hathway connection since from last 6 months. I am suffering from daily connection fail problem. My connection not working from 5 days. I complained 5 times to your call center as well as I personally came to your Baroda office 2 times within 2 days. Every time they just tells lie that I am sending engineer and it will be ok today but nobody even come to see what is the problem after giving complain.

                                      I have recently given complain to call center. My complain number is 270509. They give promise to come and solve query within 24 hour working time but I think they are not forwarding complains to responsible person. Even after 4 days nobody come to see. We suffer lot at last time too.

                                      I have harsh complain about your management at baroda office. I don’t think so anyone performing his duty responsibly. The persons sitting at your baroda office are all speaking lie to all customer.

                                      So please take legal step against this Hathway Broadband.

                                      My self Sunny Tailor and my login id is sunny83.I am your customer since December 2008 and just 3 months back I have renewed my account with your company but from last 3 months the level of connectivity is below the acceptable level. There were 7 Complained logged in January, 3 in February and already 7 complain logged in the recent days of March. After complains to your respective helpdesk I am not getting the permanent solution of my problem so At last I have no other option except Quit my account with your company. While renewal of my account the concern person has clearly committed that we will not charge any additional bugs in case of intermeade termination of Account but At the time of discontinuation request to your center I have get an feedback that company is not liable to pay a single bugs in post paid connection. So its needless to say there is no customer in this market who will scarifies his 10 pending months against 3 months of actual usage. My concern is only that Either you can provide me hassle free service or give me my remaining amount back without any additional deduction.
