    Dear Consumer Complaints,

Recently I have tried to book a flight ticket from Chennai to Visakhapatnam on 07.10.2009 through www.jetlite.com, I hv choose my travel and I have provided the required address information, but I couldn't see the price when I booked, it showed only when I searched the flight initially Rs.1730.00, after I have given my address details and sumbitted, I got a reservation Code: GUAFIW, ticket No.[protected]. I couldn't understand anything with that, because it is subject to confirmation. Hence I booked another airlines. When I received my credit card statement, I was shoked to see the Debit of Rs.1730.00 from my credit card. Here is surprising thing is that, I have not been asked any payment details when I booked the ticket through jetlite, more over, I did not give my additional security code from Master Card, which became mandatory since August 2009.

I strongly believe that they might used my old data (I booked my tickets even before with my ICICI credit card in 2008). I am trying to reach them to their office phone no.s of Mumbai, Chennai as well Bangalore, but no body is picking.

Please help me to get my money back as I that booking was not refundable (status).

    Regards,
    Francis

We were on a family holiday (husband, sister in law and I) and were returning from Hong Kong to Mumbai on 9th September, 09 on flight number 75. We reached well in advance for check in and were told at the counter that the flight would not take off due to the pilot strike. When asked about why we were not previously informed about the same, we were given 2 different pieces of information from your ground staff – one which said that they did not know about the strike until the day before and the other which said that they tried contacting us but didn’t get through.

Both explanations sounded vague and unbelievable.

As far as reaching us on our mobiles was concerned the least that could be expected for a carrier like Jet Airways is to have sent SMS alerts when we had provided 2 mobile numbers in Hong Kong during the time of our bookings. All 3 o[censored]s are professionals and had meetings and other engagements the next day. What seemed to infuriate us further was when we got to know that the other co – passengers of the same flight had been informed of the cancellations and were put on to direct flights earlier than us. If the same would have happened with us, we would have not missed our important meetings which we had lined up in Mumbai the following day.

Anyways after much conversation to and fro between us and the girl at the check in counter, we managed to get bookings on a hop over flight from Cathay to Delhi. After that we were informed that the first flight of Kingfisher from Delhi to Mumbai is fully booked so we would have to wait another few hours at Delhi airport. Again after more coaxing, we managed to get ourselves booked for the same flight. We were given our boarding passes for the Cathay flight from Hong Kongs and a hand written receipt as a ticket for our Kingfisher flight back to Mumbai from Delhi and were given assurance by the ground staff that we had confirmed seats on the airline.

Let us now bring to your notice that we had a wait of approximately six hours for the Cathay flight at Hong Kong airport.

What seemed surprising to us that not once did your ground personnel offer food vouchers or make alternative arrangements for looking after us. When we approached the girl in charge Ms Nikita, we were informed that we were not to expect it and after making a bit of a noise, she gave us fifty dollars each and behaved like she was doing ‘US’ a favor.

When we informed her that how did she expect us to eat in fifty hkg dollars at airport, she sarcastically informed us that ‘you can get some thing at burger king’. (Let me inform you that two o[censored]s are vegetarians and burger king does not do vegetarian meals and other food at the airport is expensive. In fifty hkg dollars you can get a coffee and a pack of chips but that would definitely not suffice for six hours)

Her attitude made us feel like we were not esteemed customers of Jet airways but people begging for a free meal. She even rudely told us that they were not allowed to give more than 75 hkg dollars each.

Finally we had to request the “head in charge” a gentleman called Paul who obliged us with hundred hkg dollars each.

After a good vacation in Hkg, we were absolutely shocked to receive such treatment on our return journey from your staff especially at a time like this when you should be treating customers with dignity.

This was not all, once we reached the Delhi domestic airport we were told by the Kingfisher airline staff that our seats were not confirmed to Mumbai and we had to wait for half and hour before departure to confirm our seats.

When we asked the Jet Airways authorities at the Delhi airport to look into the matter regarding the confirmation of our seats on the Kingfisher airline, Mr. Vikash Tandon, who was the ‘head in charge’ rudely, informed us that he could not do anything about it as he had no idea about it. (Makes us wonder if Jet Airways doesn’t take responsibility for their passengers, who does?!) We must also add that This Vikash Tandon was nasty and throwing his weight around at all the passengers who were stranded at Delhi airport with connections.

What is hard to understand is that how an airline like Jet Airways can treat their customers with such disrespect. We had heard some nice things about your airline and that is why chosen to fly it and not take Cathay or Air India to Hkg. Now we realize that we made a mistake by trusting your airline to be professional and take care of their passengers.

The ground staffs are the only ones who we can talk to during a crisis situation and if they only come across so ill mannered and unprofessional, how do you expect customers to feel?

We have never come across such sort of inappropriate behavior by any other airline ground staff in the past, and that too for something the airline is to blame for not us….Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and we must inform you that not only did we miss our morning meetings the next day in Mumbai but our sentiments have been hurt and we request you to look into this matter as soon as you can and compensate for the way we were treated in Hkg and Delhi airport.

This has been by far the worst experience we have had on an airline and least bit expected from a carrier like Jet Airways. We understand that there was an emergency and the airline had no control over it but what we fail to understand is the ‘terrible customer service’ that we experienced at both Delhi and Hong Kong airports and also the failure of your authorities to communicate to us regarding the cancellation of the flight that led to us losing a lot of money as we needed to cancel our business meetings.

We would like a probe in the matter and a response as soon as possible and an adequate compensation for the lack of concern that Jet Airways has shown us, the unprofessionalism we encountered and the loss of time and.

We would like this matter to be taken up and we hope you can revive this terrible situation we had to face.

      People Holidays — Unprofessional behaviour

I had asked this agency (People holidays) to get 2 passports made for my aged parents. they had a list of documents which i gave them. After that every week i had a new requirement from them. And everytime they asked for 300/- 400/- stating that some affidavit was to be made. i never got any receipt from them. They gave me a handwritten note stating that was my receipt which had no bill. number. they are most unprofessional in their services. i have ended up paying around 5000 now for 2 passports. I would strongly not recommend them to anyone. it is a mental trauma to deal with them. to top it all the lady who handles all is very negligent and has no idea of what to say and what not to say. I would seriously not recommend this to anyone.

I traveled Kathmandu / Delhi by Jetlite Flight S2 502 on 24th Nov 2007 and my baggage was mishandled. A wheel and wheel trolly was broken and the trolly was torn off from two sides - side and bottom.

Upon contacting Jetlite officials, they handed over a PIR (Property Irregulatory Report) and with my contact numbers duly mentioned in it and I was informed that someone would contact you to confirm the time before visting you to collect the damaged baggage.

To my surprise a few days later someone dropped in to the specified address without fixing up a time and when he was informed that damaged bag bag not there, he left the premises saying that he will call up and come again. Unfortunately, he did not leave his number behind nor he ever bothered to contcat / visit me again to collect the damaged baggage.

I had twice sent mails to Jetlite's corporate office but there is no response at their end. While contacting Jet Airways / Jetlite office, they informed that there is no one who is assigned to look after such complaints and they asked me to contact city office.......

It disgusting that its alsmost been 2 yrs. and no one from Jetlite has even bothered to check the status of PIR.

A copy of PIR is attached herewith for your reference.

I shall appreciate if a new strolly bag (Mont Blanc - the same make as mine which has been damaged) be replaced with the damaged one.

        With regards.

          The Manager
          Jet Airways
          Delhi/Mumbai

Sub: Complaint about ‘I Phone’ not allowed in IPOD MODE

Kind Attn. : Mr. Wolfgane Prock Schauer, CEO

          Dear Sirs,

          Exhibit: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2vmdpas&s=3

I have been flying Jet Airways almost since the inception of the airline. I have rarely travelled Economy prior to the flight today (where due to no upgrades available I was forced to fly economy). I have been a silver member & a platinum card holder for Jet Airways credit card. My itinerary details are PNR#GSKUFN & FFP 9W[protected] for the 9W913 dated 16/8/09 CCU-DEL at 5.25pm. After boarding the flight and after turning my mobile IPhone3G to flight safety IPOD mode, I waited for the flight to takeoff & captain to announce that it was safe to use the PEDs - IPOD, Computers. However the announcement never happened (failure in your suggested protocol and rules). Therefore once the seat belt lights were turned off, I proceed to plug in my headphones into the device & listen to music. To my horrow I was informed by Mr. Dem (the gentleman host) that using the device is against regulations. I told him that I was not using the phone & my PED was in IPOD status - I was only listening to music, however, he asked me to turn it off immediately (at 5.45pm). When I requested to see this rule he showed me the jet airways Boeing 737 700 safety instructions booklet that status. (As mentioned in the document as per aircraft AC71934) there was no where stated that an IPOD (PED) may not be used. When I requested for a list of approved PED (portable electronic devices). He curtly told me, “I am not permitted to show you this list as this is govt property & I am authorized to restrict you from using any device that I feel may endanger this aircraft”. When I further insisted to see the list of PED approved, he told me that the captain can inspect the device & approve it. I requested to speak to the captain and shortly Mr. Gerrad, came & informed me of the same rules “you may not use the IPhone in any Mode, “It is the law”. I am shocked by JetAirways rules and convoluted interpretation of the Indian Laws.

I ask you to consider today’s scenario where all major Domestic and International airlines are retro fitting all aircrafts with entertainment systems & even WIFI systems to allow on so and internet access! Infact recently it was published that airlines may start allowing cellphone usage on the aircraft in the near future! And jet airways claiming to be the finest in Indian skies is preventing me from using my IPOD because I am seated in Economy? I have sat in your business class scores of times & listened to my IPHONE fligh tsafe IPOD/PED and no one has ever asked me to stop using it let alone curtly. If jet airways really consider themselves a global player where is the entertainment on board - Let alone allowing passengers to use their IPods? I was sitting there for 2 hours non-productively staring at the back of a blue seat!

I hate to say this but if I am expected to take a 2 hour flight without permission to read an E- Book or listen to music on my PED, I will change my preference to Kingfisher or a more technically advance airline that uses common sense & friendly passenger custom service rather than curtly enforce archaic rules in their interpretation! I hold you responsible for a complete two hours of boredom & fatigue & horrid /No entertainment aboard 9W913 16/8/09. I don’t wish to convert to travelling with the “good times” (kingfisher) nor publicizing this matter further, if resolved, amongst my peers . If you write to me & confirm that common sense has prevailed & this will not be repeated hence forth on any Jetairways flight, I will drop this issue, alternatively pursue all methods legally available to me. Provide me proof of the written law in this respect which explicitly prohibits me from using my PED, not just an interpretation that suits the convenience of a rigid airline & crew which is technically backward!

I hope to hear back from you in 7 days, either by mail or ‘E-mail’ if there is such a thing being used by Jetairways given the aversion to technology and progress. I will be happy to give you examples o[censored]sage of this device & other similar more modern technologies being used by other airlines should you prefer.

          Most sincerely yours,

          Shamit Khemka

The other type of passenger carry on electronic devices which is
not an intentional transmitter of radio signals such as laptop
computers, video cameras, electronic entertainment devices, electric
shavers, etc. should also be prohibited for use during taxi, take-off,
climb out, descent, final approach and landing phases of the flight.

radio signals like mobile/cellular phones, amateur radio transceivers, etc.
at all times while on board an aircraft for the purpose of flight.

Pls see these two. They allow for PED in flight safe more (which does not transmit ANY signals) to be used after takeoff when the laptops etc are allowed. Then why was I prevented from using my flight safe PED.

I have gone thru the document you referred to (attached) and no where does this say that the PED may not be operated in flight safety mode. Infact if I am not mistaken the flight safety mode was introduced by most mobile manufacturers after this incident and Boeing/Airbus’s warning on the same. Pls advice.

          Synapse Communications Pvt. Ltd.

          Dear Mr Khemka,

Thank you for the support you have been extending to Jet Airways. It is our pleasure to have you as our valued frequent flyer member and to be of service to you.

This has reference to your letter dated August 16, 2009 sharing with us your concern over the request made by the cabin crew members to you on board flight 9W 913 from Kolkata to Delhi to switch off your IPOD in a flight mode.

To begin with, let me assure you Mr. Khemka that our cabin crew members had no intention to offend you or cause any inconvenience to you. They were merely following the safety regulations in place.

As a commercial airline we have to adhere to all the regulations given by the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authorities. Directorate General of Civil Aviation has determined safety standards for all airlines operating in India and we have to operate within that framework and follow them strictly as safety of our guests and equipment is of prime importance to us.

The aircraft manufacturing companies as well as the safety regulations prohibit usage of any electronic device on board a flight as it may affect or intercept the aircraft radio, navigation, control or communication systems. Hence we are only following the regulations in this regard given by the DGCA.

May I request you to please log on to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation web site for getting more further clarification and details on the subject in hand. The link is as follows www.DGCA.inc.in– Civil Aviation requirements- Section 5 – Air Safety – Series X – Part 1 - Safety Hazard – Use of Mobile/Cellular Telephones inside the aircraft during flight..

Thank you once again for sharing your experience and views with us. We value your support and look forward to your continued travel with Jet Airways.

          Yours sincerely,

          Manasi Padhye

JETAIRWAYS — Internet erroneous Charging of Credit Card

Did my booking thru the net on 25th Oct 10.

My credit was refused thrice but inspite of the error messages i have been billed thrice.

Informed the customer care of Mumbai the same night. I was counselled that the only method of communication was thru email.

Sent a mail on 25th giving all the details. Received a reply informing that as per their system there was only 2 bookings charged and they would refund in 14 days.

Got confirmation from my credit card (American express & DBS Singapore Visa) that there was three credit card charges.

Sent another mail with print screen of the credit charges on the 27th Oct 10.

Have been calling the call centre everyday.

29th Oct 10 : Namrata confirmed that she or Abhay will definately get this sort out and call me back by 12h on 30th Oct.

Didn't receive any call neither mails.

Just called this evening to hear that there is no one handle this issue and as they are a call centre nothing can be done.

Would like to know how can a company like Jetairways not having any means of communication with the reservation team.

            Dear Sir,

My brother along with our friend from Colombo were refused to check in by the staffs in the check-in counter at Chennai Airport,

They booked their ticket in Jet Airways - 9W252, from Chennai to Colombo which is expected to departure by 1215 on 12.08.09, Ticket reference number: ETKT[protected] &[protected],

Our car broke down while coming to the Airport, and somehow with great difficulty we managed to report the counter by 10.50 pm,

Even the computer is in ON condition and the person is in a position to give them the boarding pass, she stopped him from giving the boarding pass and even though she is empowered to act she refused them the boarding pass.

Her Speech is equivalent to a lady brought up in the Slums which was amazed to see. And moreover such a responsible person behaving to the customer in this fashion is ridiculous in an airline industry, never expected.

I trusted the brand name, Jet Airways and asked to book the ticket but I never ever expected this kind of behavior from a responsible person. I asked my management not to book any tickets in Jet Airline forever suppose to go to Europe but asked to cancel and book in Lufthansa, the best service I have ever seen.

My friend from Colombo, my brother all were stranded in the mid night hours in the Chennai Airport.

If you don’t know to teach your staffs how to behave and support the customer, please don’t fly abroad and spoil the name of the country, as we are ashamed in front of my Colombo friend.

I would have suspended her because of her cruel behavior to the customer.

If anyone from the Jet airways sees this mail, ACT to It.

This is for your kind information.

            Thanking you

My husband is going through the same thing right now. He is stranded in India with one shirt to his name and all of his luggage has been lost. They don't answer the phone, don't return calls and don't care. I tried calling from the states and it disconnected me during the call every time (at a different point in the menu).

Airline service is not what it used to be. They have no right to complain when they are bankrupt if they treat their customers like crap!!!
                  I Agree.

I'm stranded in india with just my carry-on and JET AIRWAYS does not care about their passangers. There don't pick up their phone calls. They are doing everything possible to mess-up my vacation. Don't know what to do with them.

                    HI,

I am a group booking customer.

I have been calling the customer care daily for the last 3-4 days. I am not able to get a ticket back home. They say there is no tkt available
I am really pissed off, just because i have a group booking does that mean i have to wait indefinitely for my travel back to india.

I swear to GOD i am never going to recommend travelling in jet to anybody i know. Jet airways truly suck. I was originally told that there were seats available on 17th and they suddenly magically disappeared.

my experience with JETLITE has been extremely dissapointing and horrible...i had booked 4seats online on the jetlite flight from bangalore to delhi for 19th of june at 7am...on the 29th of april...i was given a booking code MZREYZ and no further directions regarding booking or confirmation were given...the payment was done through a credit card...
i kept in constant touch over the internet...wenever i enterd the code provided, all i got was the no. and the four names that i had provided during booking...
on the 19th of june when i went to the ticket counter...i was told that this was just the code provided during booking and that there had been no booking...it was a complete shock...they told me that there were "insufficient funds over creait limit"... this was completely crap...we had got no intimation regarding this...either by mail or via some message...this behaviour is completely irresponsible on the part of the authorities...i had to buy ticketes on the spot, which were more than double the cost i had during booking...you can well imagine the losses incurred...i demand prompt action on your part, otherwise i will be forced to approach the consumer courts

I have booked my tickets form Cochin to Delhi. The Flight carrier has charged me 1900 INR. They have not charged Fuel Surcharge in my ticket. The total charge for my ticket showed 1900 INR only. Can the flight carrier charge me with extra money when i board the plane ?

I need to know that so that they cannot cheat me when i board on the plane.

My Mom(65 years old with severe keen problems) traveled by Jet Airways from Chennai to Newark on June 13th 2009. She had to undergo lot of pain/stress/difficulty at Brussel's airport to get the wheel chair assistance in the Flight number 9W 266 from Chennai to Brussels.

I have specifically booked Jet airways hoping that their customer service would be better than Airindia. For that reason I spend $600 US extra to get the ticket.( Paid $250 to cancel my air India ticket, Jet airways fare was $350 more than air India ticket fare).

Whoever is in charge of providing wheel chair in Brussels airport refused to provide, they urged my mom to walk along with them. At last after undergoing lot of stress, panic, etc...at that age Air hostess fought with the wheel chair personnel and they helped.

My hearful thank to those Air hostesses, but people like me are ready to pay extra for this service if needed. Why airlines are giving hard time to provide such assistance.?

I have reported at the check in counter 30 min before the departure time and I was not allowed the boarding pass and the reason given was the boarding is closed before 30 min. I asked for a written policy document but they were not able to provide me. The duty manger I talked with told me that there is no written document that says 30 min before it will be closed but thats how it is and everyone knows that. Couple of time I have already flown like that but all the time the flight authority has obliged it. I would have no problem if they had a written document either in the ticket or somewhere with them but that is not written anywhere and they have made their own rule.

No web checking was allowed due to the system error of the airlines and on arrival at airport well in advance the KIOSK could not print the boarding pass. Without taking any initiative to assist the passengers Airline staff found declaring to the passengers that the boarding time was closed. Passengers were getting arrogant and the staff kept arguing with passengers to prove them wrong.I had to cancel my long awaited trip for no mistake of mine

For no fault of passengers, Airlines found harassing the passengers. Such bitter experience was never occurred in the past for this dedicated Jet Airways passenger who always preferred Jet to any other airlines. Maybe, airlines wanted to add more kitty by cancelling the discounted ticket, but, the method they are adopting for this purpose is not correct.

INDRAKAMAL PATHAK +2 WAS TRAVELLING FROM BHUBANESWAR TO KOLKTA BY JETLITE FLIGHT S2 6368 PNR NO: OSRZNJ SEAT NO 1A, 1C & 1D ON 27TH MAY 2009, BAGGAGE TAG NO: BBI 2C499C BBIHRP 0705 S2142548L.

We noticed upon collecting the baggage at Calcutta airport that one of the zipper compartment of the baggage was opened and an expensive media player (Moser Bayer, 515i) was missing. We immediately complained to the Jetlite authorities at the airport who mentioned that there is nothing much they can do and didn't register any complaint instead they advised us to write mail to Jetlite.

I request to to look into this matter as safety of baggage is airline responsibility & they should take immediate steps to investigate into these issues before it's too late

                                H'llo,

It is ironical when a jet airways call center executive informs that since i would be returning from Canada via Etihad Airways (Your partner Airlines) and catching the first flight in the morning of Jet Connect flight from Mumbai to Baroda. I need to buy a ticket in Canadian Dollars to be allowed 2 pieces which was allowed in when travelling Jet Airways flight in the evening with a proof that i was travellling internationally.

Or Being an Indian Resident i need to book my tickets in Canada...How funny could it get!!!

This is not it. There is no benefit of booking ticket through Jet Airways.com, or having a Jet privilage card, or holding Citibank Jet privilage card.

And according to your policy if i need to carry 23kgsx2 pcs i need to only fly a fully Jet airways flight which runs once in 24 hours.

So i reach in the early morning at 3 am then wait until 6 pm to get a jet airways flight or i pay for 26 kgs inspite of travelling international because the first flight is 5.50 run by Jet Konnect.

Or i pay in Canadian Dollars to be allowed 23kgsx2pc and i cannot book my ticket in INDIA.

How cheap can jet airways get in their new policies?

Jet Airways is perfect example of degrading services!!!

                                  Dear Sir:

This is with regards to my flight on 2nd May 2009 with the following details:

                                  Flight - Jet Airways 9W122
                                  Route - Delhi to London
                                  Date - 09/05/2009

The flight had developed some technical snag due to which passengers were stranded on Baku Airport without food, water or any seating. Passengers were finally brought to London but luggage came after 3 days. Now I had to buy lot of daily necessaties which I did not have because of my luggage which was not with me. Also when the luggage finally arrived, it was damaged and completely unusable. Have been trying to get in touch with Jet Airways to claim for my luggage as expenses I incurred because of late baggage arrival..All my complaints have fallen on deaf ears and nothing has happened so far...

                                  Please advise...

                                  Regards

Jet Airways — Damage of bAGGAGE

I travelled from chandigarh to delhi on 22/11/2009 via jet airways flight no.9w3320. After reaching to delhi i found my bag was damaged . this bag was purchased before a week and i could not imagine the way it was damaged . so i went to counter of jet airways and complained for the damage of the bag. since i was travelling to bangalore on the same day after two hours i told them to arrange repair at bangalore . they booked the complain and given me a copy of propert irregularity report and i was told by them that i need to saw this at the counter jet airways at bangalore airport. i went to jet airways counter bangalore . they said vendor will come to my house and pick up the bag and after repairing will send it back. Till today after calling so many times to their BAGGAGE SERVICES DEPT nobody turned up to pick up the bag and get it repaired.when i called them they said we they have not received document yet. same thing happened when i was coming back from KL to chennai .

I hope some body from jet airways will come and pick up my bag and get it repaired. I can not express the pain which i felt because i am not a rich man who can efford this type of damage . I spent Rs.2200/- . I am giving curse to them and have decided not to travel by jet airways,

                                  Bangalore .
I travelled from Mumbai to delhi on 30/12/2009 via jet airways Konnect flight no.9w2059. After reaching to delhi i found my bag was damaged . So I went to counter of jet airways and complained for the damage of the bag. The Person available on the counter was Mr.OM he booked my complaint after seeing the physical condition of my Trolley bag and gave me a copy of complaint (report) and i was told by them that some one from Jet airways will visit to my residence & will get the bag repaired on priority . Till today no body has even called up on my mobile number even for courtesy sake also. I called up the mobile No [protected] which was given to me but unfortunately no body is picking the phone.

It is very horrible to see a carrier which is being rated no 1 in the private aviation sector is working like this.

I need a reply from the concerned deptt. that why my baggage was damaged during the journey & even if it got damaged then why no body bothers to console a person for the damages.

Your early response in this regard will be highly appriciated.

                                  regards

                                  Dear Sir,

My name is Deepak Sasidharan. I have travelled in Jet Konnect 9W-2106 on 4th Sep, 2011 from Cochin to Mumbai at 15.25 departure from cochin airport. While reaching Mumbai Airport, I have waited 45 min additionally to get my check-in trolly bag and after receiving i found that it is damaged. This bag cost 4500/- and a brand new bag and i found that the trolly hand, lock, logo and the handles were broken pathetically and i was not in a positon to carry and use the bag from Airport hence I was forced to buy a new bag my own from out side Airport to carry my materials.. This incident cause me alot of physical and mental pain and with a very bad health condition i suffered alot at airport due to the mismanagement of my baggage by the Jet Airways crews.
When i Reported this to Jet baggage service counter, they havn't taken this seriously and i was not supported for getting a clearence of my issue and proper response. I have posted a complaint in your complaint form also.
I request JET Airways to provide me decent and reasonable compensations to my loss and an appologise letter for the misbehaviour to stop any further action or complaints on this.

                                  Thank you very much

Traveled from Dubai to delhi on November 21, 2017 and when I got my bag the handle was jammed on top of the bag so now I can not carry the bag until it is fixed. Please help. Thank you. Shirin badlaniO
I travelled by jet airways flight 9w389 on 3/2/2018 with my family. On landing at Mumbai airport I noticed that my baggage has been badly damaged due to mishandling by airline staff . immediately reported the matter to your CSA Ms. Tejashri. However the attitude and response of the staff was disappointing and indicative of the indifferent attitude towards customer concern. First I was asked if I have the bill of the bag that I was carrying and then I was offered Rs. 1000 for the bag that was damaged beyond repair and purchased only about an year ago and barely used on 2-3 occasions and cost me Rs.[protected]. This was like adding insult to injury. Firstly why do you need a bill for my bag and secondly why should I accept Rs. 1000 for a bag costing me so much more.

It is worth mentioning here that I stopped traveling by Indigo after experiencing similar incidents on two occasions last year and switched to jet in anticipation of better services. However yesterday’s incident especially the indifferent approach of the staff left a bitter taste

I was a pretty loyal customer to Jet airways till 25-Mar-09, but not any more after the horrible experience interacting with your staff at bangalore airport. Here are the details about the most horrible experience ever experienced by me and my family on 25-Mar-2009

Myself, my wife and our 7 month old kid had to visit Chennai for VISA stamping. So I had booked the tickets for 3 o[censored]s on following flights through makemytrip.com

                                    25-Mar-2009:
from : mangalore(IXE) to: Bangalore (BLR) - Jet Airways flight #9W3564 scheduled departure: 19:00 hrs - arrival at 20:00 Hrs
from: Bangalore (BLR) to: Chennai (MAA) - Indian Airlines flight # IC0544 scheduled departure : 21:00 Hrs - arrival at 21:50 Hrs

On the Day of journey (25-Mar-09), I get a call from Jet Airways Mangalore airport staff saying our flight (9w3564) is delayed by 30 minutes and I mentioned them about my connecting Indian Airlines flight from Bangalore at 21:00 Hrs IST. They said that, the flight is delayed only by 30 minutes and we can still make it to the Indian airlines flight at 21:00 Hrs to Chennai. I told them that, If at all we miss the Indian airlines flight IC0544, Jet airways have to make proper arrangements for me to reach Chennai on 25-Mar-2009 itself as we had the VISA appointment at the US consulate at Chennai on 26-mar-2009 in the morning. They said that, since the delay is only 30 minutes, they can't do any arrangements if we miss the flight and told me to come to the mangalore airport and talk to them in-person.

We reached the Mangalore airport at 18:00 ~ 18:30 hrs IST and the Jet airways Ground staff at the Mangalore airport were very friendly and very helpful. they told me that, they have informed the Jet airways staff at Bangalore airport to collect out boarding passes for the Indian airlines flight (IC0544) and the person with the boarding passes will help us in making to the flight IC0544.

In reality, the flight was not delayed by 30 minutes, it was delayed by 50 minutes and took off from mangalore airport only at 19:50 hrs and landed at Bangalore airport at 20:50 Hrs (10 mins before the scheduled departure of our flight (IC0544) to Chennai. When we got down from the plane, one of the Jet airways Bangalore ground staff members approached us with the boarding passes for our Chennai flight #IIC0544 and as we approached the Indian airlines check-in counter, he told us that we have missed the flight and now it was our responsibility to talk to the Indian Airline staff at Bangalore airport and claim for the refund of the tickets for missing the flight and then purchase the tickets for the next jet airways flight (9W466) at 22:45 Hrs. I was very furious on this comment and asked him that it was the responsibility of Jet airways to arrange an alternative for us to reach Chennai as it was due to Jet Airways fault, we missed our onward flight to Chennai. He then asked us to wait and called the Duty Manager Ms/Mrs Meher who was never ready to understand our situation instead was explaning us her situation that she cannot do much except asking us to purchase tickets for the next jet airways flight (9W466) at 22:45. Hrs. If we hadn't missed the flight (IC0544) to Chennai, we would have been in our Hotel Chennai by 22:45 Hrs and we were traveling with our son and the options she gave us were

1)purchase tickets for the next Jet airways flight to Chennai --OR--
2)Wait in the airport whole night and board the next Indian Airlines Flight to Chennai on 26-Mar-09 morning. -- this wasn't an option while travelling with family and kids and I am not sure why did she recommended this option to us

I asked her, if she can allow us to travel in Jet airways flight to Chennai without asking us to purchase the tickets as it was due to their delay we missed our flight - she said "NO" for this.

Finally when I asked her if she can at-least arrange for the re-reimbursement of the Indian Airlines ticket, she said "no" she can't be of any help here as the tickets were purchased through an online site it was my responsibility to follow-up with the site and Indian Airlines to get my money back.

At -last with no option left for us I had to purchase the Jet airways ticket for flight (9W466) at 22:45 Hrs and we reached our Hotel at midnight 00:30 Hrs.It was most horrible journey of my life.. I never expected such an ill treatment by the Jet Airways Staff who could do nothing to help our situation. The worst part is my family and I had to experience all this pain just for the fault of traveling through Jet airways. I had to spend more money from my pocket for the delayed Jet airways flight. I will never ever fly with Jet airways and will never recommend it for any of my friends and relatives.

Thanks for such a great customer service from Jet airways staff.

Hats off to Jet Airways and its hostile staf[censored]

                                      Hi,

I'm Rajesh Bapat, form Chennai. I had travelled to Kulalampur by jet airways on 4th march and at Kulalampur, I came to know that my baggae was not received at the airport. The local service desk was unable to track it and registered a complaint also. Since I was on a business trip, and had lost all my cloths etc, I had to buy all these afresh, at Kulalampur, at 15 times the cost in India. On return, afetr several enquiries at Jet air ways office in Chennai airport, I'm still not receiving any reply, and even after one and a half month, the issue is not solved. I would like someone to help me guide to get the compensation for the lost goods and the mental pain suffered.

                                      Rajesh Bapat

complaint of loss from checkin baggage :

i was travelling on the goa - mumbai sector (flt s2 0658).
i had placed a mini digital camera in my checkin baggage and asked the check in staff to mark my bag 'fragile'.
on arrival at mumbai airport whilst looking through my checkin bag for my spectacles i noticed that the pockets of my bag were open.
on further examination i noticed that my camera was missing. though its case was intact.
i checked my bag ... everything else was in place.
                                      except for the camera.

                                      camera details:

                                      my flight details :

                                      Flt no : s2 0658
                                      date : 17th june

                                      baggage tag number : s234 3535

i have lodged a complaint of the missing item with the jet airways staff at the mumbai airport last evening(17th june).
i expect that jet airways will get back to me swiftly and reimburse me for my loss or replace the camera.

when one travels by air one hopes that in lieu of the moeny you spend on the tickets there will be some safety assured for you and your baggage.
its really dissapointing that there are thefts happening within your staff. there must be accountability.
                                      jet airways must take responsibility.

inspite of calling up jet airways repeatedly and emailing them ... its been over a week and i still havent heard from them.
can this be taken to the consumer court?
