Hi, I had a credit card issued by Kotak Mahindra Bank in the year 2015 and the account was settled in the year 2021 however, I'm being chased and hounded by different people claiming to be working for Kotak Mahindra Bank asking me to pay the remainder amount that was left after the account was settled. Pathetic!
This is what has happed till date...
I was contacted by a person named Sandeep from New Delhi stating that he works for Kotak Mahindra Bank and it was brought to my notice that I seem to have missed making payments towards my credit card account, I asked for further details and I was provided with the card number and the amount due, I informed Sandeep that I'd not be able to make a payment in full towards the outstanding balance and hence he suggested that he can check with his team and let me know if they can provide a settlement offer. I was okay with it and hence it was agreed that once the account is settled the same will reflect in my credit report. I was told that it will take some time to release the offer letter, so I should go ahead and make the payment, however, I was a bit skeptical and hence I said that I'll visit the branch, collect the offer letter first and then make the payment accordingly. Sandeep was fine with it, however, when I reached the bank, I was informed by the security guard that all Kotak Mahindra Bank branches are operational on all days of week except for Friday's, I called up Sandeep and told him about this and informed him that I'll visit the same branch again by tomorrow afternoon. Next day, I was at the branch for about 2 hours, however, I still didn't get the offer letter, hence I left and informed Sandeep about it, I was told that I shall get it by tomorrow via email. I was fine it. Next day {i.e}[protected] I got a call from Sandeep and was told that I should make the payment via the link he shared with me earlier via WhatsApp. I had still not received the settlement letter, however, I still went ahead with it because, I wanted to get this account settled as soon as possible, in the meantime I got an email from KMB with a copy of the settlement offer attached. I called up Sandeep stating that the letter was issued / prepared on the[protected] and the due date mentioned for the first payment was[protected], would that create a problem later, because the first paymentof INR. 7000/- was made on the[protected]. He said that should not be an issue as there was a delay from their end. The next payment was made on[protected] {INR. 9072/-}, I called up Sandeep and informed him that I've made both the payments now and when I can expect the same to reflect in my credit report, he said that it will take approximately 20-30 days. Post which I didn't have any conversation with him, however, after a couple of months I get a call from a lady stating that I have not made a payment towards my KMB CC, I called up Sandeep again and explained him everything, post which he took all the details from me and said that now you won't get any calls and it is his responsibility to close the account. A couple of days back, I got a call from another guy singing the same song and I lost it, I shared the settlement letter with him and he had the audacity to say that the payment towards the first installment was not made on time, I shared all the messages with him and asked himone logical question: When the letter was prepared on the[protected], sent to me via email on[protected], how on earth can I make a payment on the[protected], I guess he realized that he has made a fool of himself and stopped contacting me, however, I'm not satisfied because any TOM DICK and HARRY calls me and states that I'm a CULPRIT. I want this to END. ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Do let me know what can be done in this case because contacting KMB is of no use because I do not have the CRN, the mobile no and the email id that was registered on that CC account.
Kotak Mahindra Bank customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
