I'm Pratiksha Singru.
I recently graduated from medical school. I was in Guyana, South America, studying.
On March 21, 2020, I had a flight with British Airways that I had reserved through Make My Trip, a reputable travel agency. My booking id is NN[protected]. However, due to COVID, I was unable to fly. On March 20, 2020, I received an email from British Airways informing me that the flight had been cancelled. When I contacted British Airways after that, they advised me to contact the agent through whom I had purchased the ticket. When I contacted MakeMyTrip, they informed me that the flight could not be refunded in full. There is only one date change option available. Because the United Kingdom closed its borders during COVID, I had to book my flight back to India through the Indian high commission in its place. After that, I tried contacting them several times to double-check, but MakeMyTrip was not responding properly. They were always emailing me and saying that they had raised the query and that it would take 15-20 working days to hear back from the airlines. I'm back in the country, and as a student, I have no plans to leave the country after this degree programme because I intend to stay in India. I called, texted, and emailed MakeMyTrip every day before the deadline, but they wanted to look into the same issue. Time and time again, I informed them that the due date was approaching. Please let me know what is going on in my case or give me a refund because the amount is not insignificant. After April 30, customer service called and told me there was nothing we could do. Is this how any company operates? I am a middle-class person who took out a loan to further my education. 1 rupee is also significant to us. The amount was 78091 rupees.
I hope you understand my issue and will do your best to resolve it as soon as possible. I've attached screenshots of the Makemytrip and British Airways emails. I'm hoping you'll be able to find a solution. Your cooperation and assistance are greatly appreciated. Thank you incredibly much.
