I ordered 2 grocery items from swiggy today. (1.) 5 kgs of potato, and (2.) 4 kgs of onion. I was charged rs 399 inclusive of delivery charges and taxes. The delivery person was unable to deliver the package to my flat because of the main entrance security didn't allow him to enter our society. Then he tried to call me but couldn't call me due to network issue. I assure here that, the number provided by me on swiggy is 100% legitimate and is being used by me only. And i didn't receive any call from the delivery person today. The delivery person returned back along with my package. And i had to incur the full loss. On contacting the customer care - they said that, since it was a prepared food and couldn't be returned to the restaurant, that's why we can't refund you the amount. This statement is 100% false. It was not a prepared food, it was a dry grocery item. Potatoes and onions can be stored in open for a long period of time. Since this happened due to network issue. I am not sure the issue was with which side - the delivery person, or mine. Because my phone is working fine right now. That's why all i want from swiggy is - kindly deliver me the ordered goods and i am ready to pay the extra delivery charges for that. I hope swiggy won't disappoint one of their regular customers for such small issues. Thank you and i hope for a better solution soon.
