EVM VW Maradu-Irresponsible Employees Cheat VW Vehicle Owners During Annual Service

This is a Complaint against EVM VW Cochin Dealer Service Center. The vehicle was given for service on 21 April, 2022. Mr. Agin Mohan was the agent who took the service. The car did had small splashes of wall paint which he told would be removed by polimer coating. The agent was asked to deliver the vehicle on the same day. I ASHOK GUPTA purchased volkswagen vento from moti nagar(world class auto), new delhi on RC registered 01/06/2016. So there was a loan of 5 lakhs on this car for 5 years which ended on 31/05/2020. I have been trying hard for getting NOC for the same from volkswagen but no response from dealer and from toll free number. I have attached the RC and bill for my car. So it's humble request that provide my NOC for my car asap. It's a very urgent case and treat it as utmost important.

    Dear sir,
    my VW Vento TDi AT is a wonderful car to drive and gives me great feeling of stability and safety since I bought it new in November 2017 from VW Downtown Mumbai.
    In August 2020, I was returning late night from the office when the engine started vibrating abnormally as the road was wobbly. The glow plug light came on and so did the check engine light. I managed to drive the car in limp mode to my home 15 kilometers away on empty streets at 1:30 am in the night. The car seemed to have lost a lot of power and would not drive beyond 40 kilometers per hour. The the car had approximately 40, 600 kms on the odometer then.
    I requested VW Downtown Service centre to collect the car from my home for checking but they gave me an appointment 2 days later and took the car away to the service center. I was informed by my service advisor that there was a fuel injector failure issue with the car. I was advised that the fuel injector for cylinder number 4 of the engine had failed and needed replacement. Since the car was under extended warranty the fuel injector was replaced without me having to pay for it. As per the invoice for the work performed by Volkswagen Downtown Mumbai, the description of work states "Injector removed+reinstalled".

    A few days later (27th August 2021), I was travelling with my family from Mumbai to Ahmednagar, 280 kms away to attend my grandfather's first shraddha. The car broke down at Kalyan after driving 60 kilometers from Mumbai at 7 pm. Again the engine was vibrating violently and the car was not drive-able over 15-20 kmph. The glow plug light came on the dashboard. Towing the car back to Mumbai was very expensive so I switched off the engine and parked the car to consider my options. After about 30 minutes, I started the car engine to see if it still suffered from the malfunction. To my pleasant surprise the engine was firing normally and the glow plug light was off. I drove back carefully and gently to Mumbai over 60 kilometers hoping that the car would not break-down again in the dark in truck heavy traffic on Mumbai-Nashil highway. Luckily, the car brought me home without further trouble. I had to borrow my relative's car and set off for Ahmednagar early next morning to attend my grand father's shraddha.
    Upon my return, I complained to VW Downtown Mumbai that the car was giving me the same kind of trouble again and the work was not done to my satisfaction. However, since the car engine was firing normally, they were not able to diagnose the issue. They kept the car at the service center for 3 days and test drove it but the engine issue did not happen. Finally, they checked the error log on the car engine using the scanner machine and realised that there was a fuel injector failure message that flashed a few days ago. I was informed that this time it was fuel injector number 4 that had failed. I was informed that the fuel injector would be replaced under warranty. As per the tax invoice provided to me on 3rd September 2021, the description of work performed by the service center states "Injector removed+reinstalled".

    The car had been working fine since the work was performed. I was still nervous about the car being unreliable so I started using railway for long distance travels although I had a premium car parked in my garage, which is a travesty. I even considered selling the car but realizing that I would not get a decent resale value for the car since it is a Volkswagen, I decided to keep owning the car for city runabouts.

    The month is April of 2022 and I decided to risk driving my Vento from Mumbai to Pune with my family, early on Good Friday. The car had about 40, 500 kilometers on the odometer. After scaling the Bhor ghat through heavy long weekend traffic, about 40 kilometers from Pune, the car started losing power. The engine started vibrating abnormally. The glow plug light came on the instrument cluster. I had a sinking feeling that my family and I were going to be stranded on the Expressway in scorching 40 degree heat looking for a tow truck. We were heading to Pune to attend my father in law's 60th birthday. The plan was going to be ruined. I drove the car gently towards Pune to get as close to a VW authorised service center as possible. The car was not going past 60 kilometers per hour. By the time I reach the toll booth, the car would not drive past 15 kmph. I stopped the car by the roadside and made a few calls to relatives to arrange for a tow truck and pick us up from Talegaon, near Pune.
    About 10 minutes later, I fired up the engine and it started working normally. I continued on driving gently towards Pune city to get close to a VW Authorised Service Center. Luckily for me the problem did not recur and I did not have to take the car to the service center at all.

    Upon my return to Mumbai I have sent the car for a diagnosis on the problem that I faced with the car engine performance on 21st April.
    However, I am extremely disappointed that as a customer of Volkswagen, having paid near Rs 14 lakhs for this premium sedan I do not have any assurance that I can take the car for a drive to the neighbouring city without the fear of a breakdown. I hold Volkswagen India responsible for the harassment and the mental agony caused that due to the poor quality of the components on VW car that I own and the equally incompetent service provided by VW authorised serice center.

    Please provide a resolution on how can I restore my peace of mind knowing that my car is likely to leave me stranded on the road anytime I take the car for travelling or even commuting to office?

    The car was sent to VW Downtown Service Center at Sewree, Mumbai. The diagnosis showed that this time the fuel injector for engine cylinder number 3 had failed and needed replacement.
    The service center offered to replace the fuel injector for half the cost plus labour charges extra. While it is a goodwill gesture from the service center, I am frustrated at the poor quality of VW components and losing my peace of mind living with the car whose fuel injectors keep failing one after the other within a few thousand kilometres.
    I agreed to pay the estimated amount of Rs 12500 and got the work done. The final bill to replace the fuel injector and rear ABS sensor came to Rs 12, 300.
    Clearly, buying a Volkswagen vehicle thinking of the brand as a premium German car brand with great quality was a bad decision on my part.

    I do not recommend buying a Volkswagen Car to anyone.

      Team, I want to lodge a complaint where I need proper investigation and explanation, where I met with an accident dated (8 March, 2022) at Indore -Bhopal highway with the truck, during the impact the airbag did not opened, Now my vehicle is booked in total loss, but I won’t be able to understand why airbag did not opened at the time of impact with the truck,

        I am the owner of a volkswagen polo with the following given details below:

        I want to bring it to your notice that the said car CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING AND I WAS IN IT.
        I WAS LUCKY THAT I COULD GET OF THE CAR IN TIME OTHERWISE AND AVERTED THE WORST THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED !!

        I bought a VOLKSWAGEN in the first place because your company boasts about the safety of the car, but after such an incident I am not skeptical of the bold claims made by VW !!
        IN THE WORST OF THE SCENARIOS THE INCIDENT COULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE !!

        The misery didn't end there. After such a horrific incident that left me traumatised. I took the car to VOLKSWAGEN DEHRADUN at my OWN EXPENSE, even though the cost of transportation was borne by me and VW India didn't reimbursed me for the same. I personally handed over the car to the Service centre on the 7th February 2022, since then I have made innumerable trips to the service centre and made countless calls to the customer care service to expedite the issue, but till date neither my car has been repaired nor a loaner Car has been provided to me. It has been almost Two (2) months my car has been with them with no resolution, In these two months they don’t even know how the car caught fire and what was the technical issue with it. In the end it took volkswagen One month to check the car for fault and they said that the insurance company opened the car so it is not possible to detect the fault. The INCOMPETENCE of volkswagen should also be on my head, this was all done in the presence of VOLKSWAGEN DEHRADUN, where were they when this happened ?? In the end they said that it was a wiring fault and still does not know the reason and told me that I have to bear the cost of this mishappening…WHAT THE HELL !!!

        Then as a customer of volkswagen i asked them to provide me with a substitute/loaner car for my day to day doings, to which they did not heed any importance and denied every time. WHY WOULD A MULTINATIONAL CARE ABOUT A MIDDLE CLASS PERSON !! I am struggling to do my day to day activities without my car…paying out of my pockets for public convenience and cabs even after owning a Volkswagen car.

        This is absolutely shameful and careless on VOLKSWAGEN’S part. I WANT VOLKSWAGEN TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SUBSTITUTE CAR ASAP till my car is not repaired and handed over to me.

        I humbly request you to please call for an inspection of the matter as to what could have caused this horrifying incident and why do I have to face all this harassment .

        I am slowly losing my patience. This is my last and final reminder call to VW if my case is not resolved I will take this matter to further platforms. I am done enough to request you.

          Error- Gearbox in
          emergency mode.
          You can drive on.

          On 25th February 2022 While driving there was an issue facing (Gearbox in emergency mode. You can drive on.
          We have informed to Road side assistance of VW they took the vehicle shared the Job sheet. Till date we don’t have any idea that when our car is going be delivered. It’s almost 35 days they are not committing on delivery date of vehicle . No proper updates through mail.

          Could please intervene on this and help us in delivering the vehicle asap.

          Keeping the vehicle idle for 35 days in service station hope you can understand the pain of the customer.

          Please do assure the whatever the technical error cropped for the vehicle won’t happen after this get resolved.

          We do have number of doubts as is this the first case you people are handling such issues or you are R & D on my vehicle.

          Please resolve the issue and do share share the docs in black and white what has been replaced.

            Cheated by VW Panipat Service Centre when my car was in warranty, car started developing problems for Low engine oil level. VW customer care told me that this is common problem and just topup the engine oil. Same problem came 2-3 times and everytime they topped up engine oil. Now when my car is out of warranty, they say engine is damaged and need to replace engine which will cost 4 Lakh. Horrible brand Horrible service staff and management of VW. In 1 Lakh kms already replaced gearbox two times. Its a serious customer torture of buying a VW vehicle.

            Its been 8 days I have informed the customer care and my car is in the showroom since last 15 days. I have not received any feedback from them. Its a torture for me. Now I realise why people suggested me not to buy a VW car. Now I know why there is a niche market for VW cars. They are unrealible and have a tremendously high cost of maintainance. For driving 1 Lakh kms on a VW it costs around 5-6 lakh for just maintainance

              I am complaining about the Kun Volkswagen service center Alandur vw.
              I have left my polo car for service on 17th march for general service and abs sensor issue.
              Received the car on 18th march with the bill stated 28000 which new abs sensor replaced. Again 19th March itself abs shows malfunction alarm. Informed to Kun Alandur VW service station but no response still.please do the needful

                Horrible service experience, people in customer service are completely unprofessional, bought a car service package worth 14 K INR on 10th Feb, paid additional 5 K INR for some small parts, I have given my car for general service and after complete health check-up the car is delivered to me, as I had taken pick and drop service, later i have realized in just a few days the left rear window glass is not going down, after checking thoroughly I have realized that it has been fixed with some cardboard temporarily, however the car given to service was in perfect condition, Since then trying to reach service engineer at BU Bhandari Motor Pune, everyday there is commitment for next day but till now no one came to fixed this, as there is no other service authorized service Centre of Volkswagen in Pune, executives treat this as a monopoly and never respond to calls even after 100 of calls has been made my be, unfortunately, if you bought a Volkswagen brand, you will have to experience this, there is only one authorized service Centre left in pune.

                      The Salem VW service center called me for periodical service and informed service center in Hosur can do as I am located in Hosur.

                      My vehicle TN29 BC 4777 was took for service on 7-Jan-2022 and it was handed over to me on 10-Jan, while handover I found all warning indicating in the cluster and informed to the service center and visited back on same day to rectify the problem.

                      The service center checked and unable to recity it as the software isn't ready at Hosur service station. And as tested and informed by service center the performance of my car was good enough to travel to Salem service center to rectify the issues. Also same was communicated and confirmed with Salem branch Manager to proceed further.

                      I visited Salem service center to rectify the problem on 12-Jan and they couldn't rectify within same day and informed needed additional days to check the vehicle and can continue the travel now and return the vehicle after my travel as traveling with my family and performance of vehicle had no impact to anywhere.

                      So I started my travel in evening from Salem service center and continued my travel for 62km and in Attur my vehicle got flames from the dashboard and started fire and we extinguished the fire and informed to Salem service center. The manager and his team came to Attur by @10pm and recover the vehicle using the recovery van back to Salem service center.

                      Note: as informed to the service team the wrong rating fuse was mounted by the service center and it is the root cause for the fire from the fuse area.

                      After several followups Manager requested me to help with the insurance to claim and clear the issues and same was initiated from my end. And almost 2months as of now no prompt updates from the service team and everyday they inform will ready this week and next week. Atlast now insurance also had no clarity and now informed by service center that cluster was imported and wi take time to get it. Almost 2 months and everyday I only received different information and no prompt updates so now my confidence on the service center was lost.

                      After 2 months now seems they trying to turn all the faluts to my end which is really not acceptable and as a VW service center the trustworthy become a question mark now.

                      Attache the photos of the car met with fire accident.

                      I need your help to resolve the issues and handover the car back to me which the fault was caused by the service centre and lead to the fire accident.

                        I have requested the PPS MOTORS SOMAJIGUDA hyderabad telanagana showroom people for the invoice copy of the car, which is required for the transfer from one state to another I have recently moved from Hyderabad to visakhapatanam andhra pradesh I have received the NOC from telanaga but in andhra pradesh to register for transfer they require invoice copy when requested the same from dealer they are denying to provide saying they don't have data from 2013 I don't understand how the data will not be available. Kindly help me through this to get invoice copy.

                          For my loan account#[protected], I have written to Volkswagen support at customercare.[protected]@vwfs.com, [protected]@vwfs.com, [protected]@vwfs.com and customer.[protected]@volkswagen.co.in on 9th and 18th of Feb 2022 with no response at all. I have also tried to contact the finance team over call but there was no response.

                          I wanted to close my loan so I wanted to know the details. There is no response via email nor via phone.
                          This is really disappointing that Volkswagen does not respect their customers.

                            I had given my car for service and replace steering road at Volkswagen Mysore road service center.

                            My car was in very good state (could drive inter state) before giving for service and after service and repair I cannot drive in city even for 20-30 kms. The break does not apply. The speedometer goes crazy. Spent Rs70, 000+ for service and repair. Now the car has become undrivable and unsafe. This was my best car to drive and feel lost at such a lousy, degraded service. Never expected this from Volkswagen.

                            The service guys now give reasons that this is 10yrs car. This same 10yrs car was so good before repair and service and now undrivable. They just dont listen and accept their quality of service. They are taking customer for a ride.

                              Volkswagen whitefield tried to close this issue by painting the damaged parts, even though we requested for a full body paint. Now again they damaged one more part(Car door pad, attached pics) three days back and delivered the car. Once again I need to report this second issue and they are not ready to replace it with a new part, instead tried to replace it with some used parts without our consent. Please escalate this issue on priority. It has been 3 weeks I am following up on this issues and losing my time and money hiring private vehicles. We spoke to Volkswagen customer care on call, even they said it will be escalated, but they don’t have incident no on this issue due to some technical problems from past three weeks. I am not clear with Volkswagen customs care systems. Completely unsatisfactory.

                              Finally received my car after resolving two back to back issues yesterday around 8.30 PM. However, again with lots of disappointments with below findings.

                              Atenna was removed and given to us to fix it back.
                              There are some new scratches on the back side car door(just next to the fixed door). Highlighted in the pics. The driver tried to show us old pics and also found in other pics this scratch disappeared.
                              Petrol claimed for 500 Rs, after few seconds petrol ran out of shortage with the indications while I filled it for 2000 ₹ fuel.
                              Speaker sets are not fixed, charges not compensated. On top of all this additional expenditures incurred for this one month taking cab services without my car.

                              Really not satisfied with this poor service from Volkswagen.
