staff stolen my mobile/etihad the brand of robbery

I travelled from denmark to hyderabad on nov 24th and i had put below two items in my check in baggage

Bluetooth speaker.
I have travelled from copenhagen (Denmark) to hyderabad (India) via rome (Italy) and abu dhabi (Uae) with the connecting flights.
My booking reference number is beprjv.
I would like to escalate my issue on a serious note that the goods which were present in my bag were removed by some airport authorities even though my bag is self-locked.
When i locked my bag, locker was kept on the bottom side of the bag. I am pretty sure that my bag’s lock was opened because this is found on top side when it was delivered to me.
I started my journey from copenhagen at 6:20 pm cet time. If this bag was delivered on time to these destinations without any delays then i hope you can find where the bag was delayed for longtime would be the airport where this might have happened.
I would be waiting for a response to my issue as early as possible.
I had also complained about this in etihad feedback email and the answer was really made me upset.

Etihad- the worst airlines in the world There is no security for the bag that you carry. There is a special team of robbbers recruited by etihad airways to stole the items in the bas. It is proved in my case..

deduction of inr. 84422/- towards air ticket purchase

I have made payment from my canara bank a/c for buying our travel ticket (Ref no. Phhnpw) for rs. 84422.00 on 22nd october.
Due to some unknown reason, the same amount (Rs. 84422.00) was once again debited to etihad account on 7th november.

lost stroller on flight, despite so many complaints no response .

Respected Sir,
We had gone a for a vacation to US from 4th june to 26th june with eithad airways to n fro in BUSINESS CLASS .On return from Los Angeles Airport when we reached mumbai airport, we recieved all luggage but my dual stroller has gone missing from 26th june .
Our stroller was not tagged as it was told to us by the representative as we do not tag the stroller and to hand it to the Hostess at the time of boarding the flight . We did the same and handed the dual stroller to the etihad representative, and were told we shall recieve it on mumbai airport .we were relaxed . At the time of check in, I had insisted the representative to put the stroller in luggage but she insisted us to take and hand it at the time of boarding .
After reaching mumbai Airport, our dual stroller was not found so we complaint to the etihad representative in mumbai, they made a receipt and asssured us that it has not come in this flight so they shall sent in another flight and sent it at my address. But nothing of that sort has happen . I have not recievd my stroller till date . My stroller is worth 25000/- pictures of which are attached .I am also attaching the boarding passes, pictrures with brand name and the flight details.
I expect that eithad should find the stroller and after travelling from a business class.

a trip to never forget for all the wrong reasons
Hello team,
I am not the person who usually complains, but this incident has moved me to let people be aware of what i am about to tell you. Usually, when you plan an expensive trip one ensures that nothing must go wrong and so was the plans to my honeymoon.
We were expecting a memorable and once in a lifetime experience kind of trip, given that we are not so privileged to travel to such places often as a couple. The cost and the time away from the schedule is very real indeed.
This trip turned out to be a disaster of sorts for us through no fault of our own – believe me, we tried to set things right and are still trying.
What was to be a special trip, that used up most of our savings turned out to be a survival test in a foreign land.
Let me go straight to the facts.
When we arrived at paris cdg, we landed to discover we had lost all our luggage, i. E medicine, food and clothing in transit. This happens to any unlucky chap and sure we could have lost more than our survival kit.
We raised a complaint about baggage loss with etihad airways. The complaint no is “cdgey30224” and i have attached the copy of it.
We also spent around two hours tracking the luggage while panicking if we were going to make it through this trip after all the expenses for bookings and reservations.
This delay disrupted all our plans causing a domino effect, and we lost our money that we used for reservation for effiel tower summit ticket $110.
We had to spend a bomb on food, clothing and medicines, and little did we know that the bills would be such a nightmare.
We forgot the whole reason we went there, lost amidst this confusion.
Our trip was pretty long, and coming back to india would cause a bigger loss, so we continued to try and enjoy however little we could.
Europe is not like india, everything is very expensive for a person traveling from india.
Food had become the biggest concern. And we had ended up spending more than 1, 00, 000 inr on just food.
Our additional spendings :
1. Cloths
2. Medicines
3. Additional bags
If you add it up, it is around 2, 00, 000 inr.
The first thing i did was after we came back from that pocket drilling nightmare was to find my bags, who wants to be separated from their worldly possessions even if it was not used at the right time.
I could not find my bag, in-spite of numerous calls and intimations.
Finally, when i reached bangalore, i personally went to the airport to look for it as i highly suspected my bag was lying somewhere unattended.
To my dismay, it was right there where they usually collect lost baggage, prominently visible. The person whom i spoke to did not even bother to look and dismissed my request to locate it.
Then started the horrors of trying to claim for all this loss –for no fault of my own, please note.
In these moments of trauma and agonizing tolerance, i was asked to submit bills for the claim.
I could not afford to shop so extensively in europe for all my needs but was forced to purchase things off the street mostly (Which were also not cheap), and i could not get any bills for the same.
For over two months of back and forth complaint filing and prolonged investigations coupled with much harassment, their final deal of settlement is 15, 000 inr, which was not even close to what we had to spend so absurdly.
I have written this post not just for my loss, but to inform everyone who saves up like me and cautiously to spend it on travel with family, for whom time and money is of crucial value and for those who are not aware of such fraud that these kinds of horrible etihad airline companies do.
Their lack of providing basic support to young and middle class like people like me is quite shameful and in the event of proven blunders on their part, they do not even take responsibility for their own actions.
Kindly spread the word by sharing this message with whomever you think is required to know.

Complaint against etihad airways due to travelling restriction.

Dear Sir / Madam,
I booked a returned ticket of Etihad Airways to travel from Abudhabi to Delhi on 23 January 2017 by third party website (Reahlat.com).
My traveling date was 23 March 2017 (Thursday) @ 8:45am
My Returning date was 30 April 2017 (Sunday) @ 9:00pm
But due to some appropriate family reason I had gone before my travel date by booked the other ticket.
But when I was returning on same date (30 April 2017) by the previous booked ticket from Delhi to Abudhabi by Etihad Airways, They restrict me to travel by that ticket. When asked the reason to restrict, staff told to me I can't travel from this ticket because I did'nt came by the same ticket.
Then I booked ticket of other Airline after 6 Days (06/05/2017) & came back to Abudhabi from Delhi.
I Did'nt get any moneyback from the Airline against my ticket wastage.
So Please do something needful for me.
I am attaching my ticket copy with this.

Checked-in baggage lost by etihad and refusing compensation
My wife and i travelled mumbai - abu dhabi - london and frankfurt - mumbai sector by etihad airways vide reservation code jzvxkk. On our return leg i. E. Frankurt - mumbai on 13 july 16, we checked-in 2 bags at frankfurt. However on our arrival at mumbai, none of the bags were received and pir was registered vide bomey22461. After nearly 50 hours, 1 bag was received at our residence at pune but the other bag has not been received till date. Repeated calls to etihad mumbai helpline were of least help and we were told that i can claim for lost bag only when etihad declares the bag as “lost”. Since etihad website also stated that one must wait for 21 days before putting lost bag claim, i waited till 03 aug when i finally sent an email attaching comprehensive baggage loss claim under a detailed covering letter. Since etihad mumbai helpline and my travel insurance helpline had both telephonically advised that no action can be initiated till i receive intimation from etihad confirming the loss of bag – while attaching the comprehensive baggage claim form, i added following lines in my email of 03 aug :
“will appreciate if you will kindly acknowledge safe receipt of this email and documents therein. Please also let me know the timeframe by which i can expect the compensation for this loss. I also need a certificate from etihad confirming that my bag has been lost so that i can intimate to the bajaj allianz insurance company. “
Regrettably, etihad baggage claim office at etihad, instead of processing my claim, jumped on to the last line of the email and promptly sent a certificate (Which i had never sought in the first place) to me vide email of 06 aug. I immediately replied on 07 aug and stated following:
Thank you very much for issuing the certificate confirming the loss of my baggage. However, please note that i have sought the certificate only for the purpose of informing the loss to my insurance company. I have neither made a claim on my insurance company nor do i have the intention of making a claim until the issue is decided by etihad airways.
Since then i have written to etihad baggage claim office at abu dhabi but they have declined to process my claim under a flimsy pretext of having issued a certificate of loss for claiming the same from travel insurance. I fail to understand why mere issue of a certificate can absolve the airline of its liability for loss of the bag and how can they compel me to prefer a claim for limited liability of $ 250 to my travel insurance when the actual loss that is liable to etihad is over $ 1000. Finally, my travel insurance will also take a stand that the liability of loss is entirely on etihad and the insurance can only step in to make up for the shortfall of compensation, if any.
I am posting this so that anyone travelling by etihad is well prepared for such eventuality.

Missing bag which one book in check in

Dear sir / madam i am mohammad mahmood khan i was travel with etihad air line from abu dhabi to bombay to lucknow when i reach in bombay air port after the immigration i check my bag in conver belt i didn't found my bag i inform to etihad representative he say you fillup the pir when we recived bag i will send you as per given address in pir but last 13 days i am not recived any masg from etihad bombay i write later to feedback @ etihad. ae but no ans i am given detail below now i am coming back in abu dhabi 09/7/2016.

Horrible experience of flying with etihad airways & then dealing with their terrible customer service

We had recently booked a return trip through etihad airways from bangalore (India) to berlin (Germany) with the travel dates of 21st april, 2016 (Onward) & 29th april, 2016 (Return). However, on 21/4/16 during our onward journey, we missed our connecting flight from rome to berlin and ended up losing 1000 euros due to the fault of etihad airways.
Firstly, when we checked-in from the bangalore international airport in india for our etihad airways flight, their partner (Jet airways) issued us boarding passes from bangalore to abu dhabi & then from abu dhabi to rome but not from rome to berlin. We insisted on the same but they said that we would have to figure this out ourselves at the rome airport, even though they checked in our bags till berlin. This was the first time in our travel experience that we weren't issued boarding passes till our destination even though we had booked the entire journey with etihad airways. When we reached rome airport, all we had were our flight tickets which mentioned the time of departure of our flight at 14:25 pm. The boarding gate number or the boarding gate closing time was not informed to us by etihad in any written form! We inquired with various ground staff as to where the boarding passes would be issued to us but each ground staff just asked us to proceed to the next point without giving a conclusive answer. Finally, at the boarding terminal we enquired with alitalia (The only etihad airways partner whose counters we could spot at the rome airport) about our boarding passes and they just told us to go the air berlin boarding gates. We searched for the boarding gate information ourselves on the display screens and ran through the airport to reach the boarding gates at 14:15 pm only to be told by air berlin that the boarding gate had just closed 5 minutes before and that we should go to etihad for further process.
This brings me to another important point, which is, that the incoming flight from abu dhabi to rome was delayed by about 10 minutes. If we were made to miss our connecting flight for a 5 minute delay at the boarding gate (For a boarding time not informed to us by etihad in any form, whatsoever) then how can etihad wash their hands off a 10 minute delay!! We should have reached 10 minutes early at the boarding gate if only etihad had been on time!
On talking to the etihad customer care after this absolutely disturbing chain of events, we were told that even if they were 10 minutes late, we still had 1 hour 5 minutes to catch our flight but if the boarding gates close 15 minutes prior to departure doesn't that mean we were left with only 50 minutes to catch the flight?! Despite all this, we ran through the airport only to get held up at the understaffed passport control counter which had a long queue of more than 50 people being serviced by only 2 officers! We were forced to spend at least half an hour waiting for our turn in this queue and neither the ground staff nor the passengers in front o[censored]s in the queue, helped us to get ahead in the queue. We were later by an alitalia staff at terminal 1 that rome airport has a shortage of staff and passengers regularly missed flights because of this but are always booked on the next flight by the airlines. Even they were shocked that etihad did not book us on the next flight to berlin. If rome airport has the problem of shortage of staff, why did etihad issue us the tickets at all with such less connecting time?
Not once from the moment we arrived at rome, did we stop to use the washroom or drink water. We ran through the airport and all the cctvs at the airport would verify everything we have said above. At the end of the day, not only did we miss our flight but etihad did not help us in any way. The alitalia staff (Etihad airways partner) to whom we rushed for help strongly agreed that etihad should help to put us on their 17:30 flight to berlin but on calling etihad, they chose to wash their hands of[censored]s.
After all this time spent on talking to etihad and retrieving our luggage from lost & found (Because it was booked till berlin but taken out at rome by air berlin), we didn't have enough time to catch the next air berlin flight at 17:30 even by ourselves. This was the last flight to berlin for that day from the rome airport that we had landed at and after running from counter to counter, inquiring about any other flights, we found out about a ryanair flight from another airport in rome (Ciampino) that was due to depart in 2.5 hours (Which meant we had to report there within 1.5 hours). Considering it was peak traffic hours, the airport staff warned us that it could take us anywhere between 1.5 to 2 hours to reach there and the fastest mode to travel would be a taxi. This meant that we couldn't book the tickets in advance because we weren't sure if we would reach there on time but not booking the tickets also meant that after spending 50 euros to travel to the other airport, we may find the flight fully booked only to have to return all the way back to our landing airport for flights for the next day. Praying every minute of our way to the ciampino airport & after requesting the taxi driver to take alternate routes wherever we faced a hold up due to traffic, we finally reached the rome ciampino airport just a minute or two before the ticketing counter closed for the day. Imagine our anxiety all this while!! The ryanair flight cost us another 448 euros because we were carrying baggage as per the international route check in allowances.
Another big let down in all of this (Which we found out when we spoke to the customer care) was that etihad cancelled our return flights to india! We had to re-book our entire retrurn journey which cost us another 35, 000 inr!
The detailed timeline of the entire incident is as follows:
13:20 - flight from abu dhabi lands at rome (10 minutes late).
13:25 - exited the flight and entered the airport.
13:30 - took the connecting train to terminal 1 as informed by ground staff.
13:35 - security check completed and proceeded for passport control.
13:35 to 14:00 - waiting in the queue of passport control.
14:00 - passport check completed and proceeded for the bus to boarding gate b19.
14:00 to 14:05 - bus waits to fill completely before leaving even after we informed about our flight timings to ground staff.
14:10 - bus reaches the entry to the terminal.
14:15 - after running continuously (And inquiring with alitalia on the way about our boarding passes), we reach the boarding gate b19 but are not allowed to board.
14:15 to 14:30 - requesting air berlin staff to let us board and asking for a solution.
14:30 to 15:30 - talking to alitalia staff at the transfer desk (Terminal 1). They checked whether we have been re-booked on the next flight by etihad, and also tried calling etihad on our behalf. Finally, we were told to call etihad milan customer care call centre, which we tried on our own but not able to get through to them. Simultaneously, also informed our travel agent in india.
15:30 to 15:45 - went to the ticketing office of alitalia at terminal 3 as directed by alitalia staff at terminal 1
15:45 to 16:00 - explained our problem to alitalia staff at terminal 3, who connected us to the milan customer care centre as they said that they cant help.
16:00 to 16:30 - speaking to milan customer care and the staff on the phone also couldn't help and told us also to re-book our return flights to india as they had cancelled it. Also, we couldn't book the 17:30 air berlin flight as communication from etihad was very delayed.
16:30 to 18:00 - speaking to our travel agent in india for a solution who spoke to etihad on our behalf but was told to re-book the return flight to india. Also, he tried for some others flight to berlin. We also collected our luggage from lost & found.
18:00 to 18:30 - inquired at the ticketing offices of lufthansa, ryanair, etc and were directed to rome ciampino airport for the only flight (Ryanair departing at 21:00)
18:30 to 19:55 - taxi to rome ciampino airport at peak traffic hours.
19:55 to 20:05 - rushed to ryanair ticketing counter and bought the tickets. Had to pay extra for luggage due to local connection having less baggage allowance.
21:00 - flight departs for berlin
The whole incident has cost us an additional 1000 euros for no fault of ours. We went through immense amount of stress & frustration that day and want etihad to wake up to their faults and compensate us appropriately. We have been following up with etihad customer care via email since 1st may, 2016 (As soon as we returned from our trip) and had been receiving assurances of a reply till finally they replied to us last week giving an explanation & saying "i apologize for leaving you with a poor impression of our services" without compensating us for any of our losses (Not even the money they collected from us for re-booking our return flights to india!)
Firstly, when we checked-in from the bangalore international airport in india for our etihad airways flight, their partner (Jet airways) issued us boarding passes from bangalore to abu dhabi & then from abu dhabi to rome but not from rome to berlin. We insisted on the same but they said that we would have to figure this out ourselves at the rome airport, even though they checked in our bags till berlin. This was the first time in our travel experience that we weren't issued boarding passes till our destination even though we had booked the entire journey with etihad airways. When we reached rome airport, all we had were our flight tickets which mentioned the time of departure of our flight at 14:25 pm. The boarding gate number or the boarding gate closing time was not informed to us by etihad in any written form! I had booked air tickets for 3 people on 26th feb 2016 on Etihad website for Rs 130380/-(One lac Thirty Thousand three hundred and eighty only)
I had received tickets and invoices as well and money was debited from my ICICI bank account[protected]
However again Today Etihad has debited amount Of Rs 43460(Forty three thousand four hundred sixty only), and that too twice due to which my account had gone in negative.
i feel this is a technical error and please request to refund my money back into the account, .
Etihad has debited Rs 43460 and then Rs 7103.98.(without my authorization)
Please clarify the transaction and refund my money back into my debit account mentioned above.i don't except such error form such a reputed airlines

Negligence of Etihad airlines authority

I arrived in Abu dabhi aiport from USA (EY 160) on April 23rd 2015 9:05 PM and I need to take the flight to hyderabad (EY 274) at 10:15 PM. Both the flights are operated by Etihad airlines only. But airport staff didnt give us the chance to board the flight to hyderabad saying that we are late. We should take the flight on the next day. This is really worst part of any airlines operations. They didnt give me the accomodation even though we need to wait for 24 hrs in the airport. Its their mistake of EY 160 getting delayed to Abudabhi airport. We are suffering because of them.

I flew with your airline on 9 April 2015 From Bahrain to Abu dhabi airport (Flight No EY376) and Abu Dhabi to New Delhi airport (Flight NoEY218).My checked in luggage (EY689748) did not arrive at my destination New Delhi.
When I was arrived in the New Delhi airport I inform to Etihad office and they registered my PIR report no DELEY15983 (pls find the attached report) and given a contact number for followup (+[protected]) and said after next days they will call back. i never get any call from them. I called many time which number they given but no one pick up my phone.

Missing Baggage

I was onboard flight EY 212 which landed in Mumbai on 1st of March, 2015. Two of my bags were supposed to be received however I received none.
I filed a complaint of missing baggage then and there on the Mumbai airport. Further, which I received one my bags on the 3rd of March. Since 1st my other bag is under tracing.
I called Etihad Airways to understand the process to claim for new clothes which are required to be purchased till I get my bag. They ask me to wait for sometime and within 15 minutes I get a call from +91 [protected] stating that my bag has been received on 9th March and has been dispatched to their delivery vendor.
On 12th of March I call them to ask whereabouts of the bag and they say it was never traced or dispatched for delivery.
I am totally lost on this don't know how to manage this harassment which Etihad Airways is bestowing on me. Please suggest.

I travelled from Mumbai to Sao Paulo via Abu Dhabi by flight# EY205, Brazil on 27th July by Etihad Airways my 1 luggage was missing. I am immediately informed the baggage officer and completed all the formalities and told it would be send once the connecting flight from Abu Dhabi arrives. I got communication from Etihad Airways that it is located in Abu Dhabi airport and will be sent soon then after couple of days I got another communication that my luggage was
transferred to Sao Paulo airport but got misplaced and they would be searching for it and they informed me that whatever I buy it would get reimbursement.
Since then I got a mail stating that my luggage is lost and I would be getting only USD 600, then I replied stating each value of the items that I lost and it totals up to Rs. 67, 000/- and I purchased cloths and accessories valuing $2, 200/- so I rejected the claim. Then I got mail stating that they have forwarded the case to Abu Dhabi central office since then I have not received any communication from them. On top of this while returning back to Mumbai on 23rd Aug my luggage got delayed by 1 day.
I am suffering lot of mental stress due to this and I borrowed money to buy cloths from Brazil so I am suffering lot of inconvenience due to this. Can someone please help me out from this mess.

Missing Baggage - No revert for 26 Days

I have traveled with Etihad airways on 1st July, 2014. Upon reaching Chicago, I realized that my one of my baggage pieces were missing. I did all the necessary formalities for getting the baggage traced.
I have sent multiple emails to [protected]@etihad.ae and [protected]@etihad.ae and haven't received any response from their end except for an auto-generated e-mail. I have also made calls to the Chicago Office, Mumbai Office and the Abu Dhabi Office of the airline and still no response.
Desperately need an update on the status of the missing bag. This kind of behaviour is intolerable from a reputed airline.
Hope this complaint brings the airline to their senses. Pathetic customer service. I shall never recommend this airline to anyone for international travel.

My Mom supposed to board to Egypt from Abu Dhabi airport on 08 SEP 00:50 and arrive on 08 SEP 02:40 on Etihad airways . When we arrived to the airport around 9:30 PM, the person at the counter said that she cannot get into the plane because she is Palestinian. I informed the guy that this ticket was booked round trip and my Mom came from Egypt on a visit visa, no need for a visa to Egypt because she is over 60 years old as per the Egyptian Embassy instructions and also she was not staying in Egypt she was going through to Gaza. Then he called Etihad Manger (Etihad Manger name was Fadi) and said that is ok no need for a visa but we cannot get here into the plane and the counter person asked me with a representative from Etihad to go back to my Agency to get my refund without giving me any paper stating why she is rejected but they said 100% I will get my money back. So I booked another ticket for my Mom on Egyptian airways and she travelled in the same night with no problems. Second day my travel agency until yesterday he was trying to contact Etihad representative for this matter but got no answer. This is my 1st complain and request to get a refund for my lost ticket and the cause was from Etihad. That night I spoke to Etihad manager named Fadi and he said I will get a refund.
Your response is appreciated and needed because I am a customer of Etihad.

Don't ever buy Etihad tickets is my sincere suggestion. With such a lousy airlines, don't buy. You may get cheated or dropped out of plane anytime and I would say "buy it at your own risk"
I bought tickets to and fro tickets for my mother to US. The ticket from bangalore to US was under economy saver which says "no cancellation allowed" and was charged INR 30,000. The return ticket was under economy freedom class which costed me INR 80,000, While booking, the website mentioned that the return ticket be cancelled with no charge. I paid 2X fare for return ticket only because it mentioned that it can be cancelled with zero charge.
However, when I reached Etihad for cancellation, the customer care mentioned that ticket cannot be cancelled as rules of restrictive class will apply here (economy saver) which says it can't be cancelled. After giving proof of the fare rules that were provided to me during booking and what is shown on website while booking, customer care mentioned that ticketing rules are complex rules and they can;t cancel. I repeated asked when I paid INR 80,000 then. They mention that I don't need to pay INR 4,000 if there is change of dates.
a) Normal fare is INR 30,000 but I paid INR 80,000 i.e. INR 50,000 extra to get "no charge for change of fare"?
b) Will anyone change dates by 12 times (12 X 4000 = 48000) to use INR 50,000 extra paid for the ticket??
While booking they clearly showed that the ticket can be cancelled and no where mentioned about non cancelled clause for return ticket. I repeatedly asked for details on where in website the rules is mentioned but they never answered it. The screenshot I have taken clearly shows that it can be called with no charge but Etihad says they won't cancel and refund.

Customs and Baggage

I have sent below email to Etihad airways 09 Dec 2012. I have not received a single response till now.
1) I had travelled with my family to India (Mumbai) from US (Phoenix) via Etihad Airlines . Journey Date : 30 Nov 2012. Flight EY 206
2) At time of checkout I didn't get my 2 baggages .
1st one was :- Televison Set ( 545 $ - informed to Airline representative )
2nd one was :- Suitcase . At time of filling PIR report I had declared that BAG I was carrying had used clothes, used shoes & sandals ,Laptop Charger & Choclates
& I had clearly informed Airline representative that in that BAG i was carrying valuabless from US that costed approx 4000 Rs to 4500 Rs.
3) On 3rd Dec'12 evening I received my Suitcase ( This was in damaged condition). Airlines got this BAG delivered at my resedential address.
Custom clearance of this BAG was done by Airline representative . Custom person had evaluated this BAG's value to be 40,000 Rs and same was informed to Airline representative.
Even after informing Airline representative that valuables in that BAG costed aroung[protected] Rs only ,
Airline Representative did not bother to call us that Customs had wrongly valuated Baggage cost and got it cleared from Customs.
Also Airlines had told me that for collecting my Televison set I need to come personaly to Mumbai Airport i.e Airline representative knew that I was going to come at Airport for collecting my second
misplaced luggage they could have hold back custom clearance of my Suitcase so that I could have personaly taken up this issue with custom department.
Please note :
Total no of luggages I was having at time of Checkout were :-
4 Checked in Baggage & 2 Cabin Baggages : - Custom evaluation 20,000 Rs for all Baggagess
Baggage ( suitcase) Misplaced by Airlines :- Custom evaluation 40,000 for this single Bag - custom clearance done by Airline representative.
As per Custom rules I & my family were allowed to carry Valuables worth 70,000 Rs from US to India . At the time of leaving airport on 2nd Dec'12 with all BAG's Custom had given me balance of 50,000 Rs and this was sufficient for getting my misplaced BAG and Television set ( costs 545 $ ) cleared from Customs without paying any custom duty.
Because of Negligence of Airline representative I had paid Custom duty of amount 10,815 Rs for my Television set.
I had personally gone on 6th Dec'12 to Mumbai airport from Pune & invested my full working day (I came to India for few days for project work and due to Airline Negligence my 1 full day got wasted).
I had already taken up this issue with Assistant Commissioner of Customs , Mumbai Airport as per him also it was responsibility of Airlines to inform Customer's before getting their baggage cleared custom's also he informed to Etihad representative.
This trip of mine was the worst I ever had . Because of Airline negligence I had Physical & Mental Stress also Monetary loss . I will never ever prefer to travel by Etihad again also I am expecting that all monetary loss I had should be settled by Airlines.
Will send the Customs Receipt and custom document scanned copies by tomorrow. Hope this time i will not be disappointed and i will get positive response.

Damaged Baggage: Etihad Airlines

I am sharing harrowing experience with Etihad Airways. I traveled by Etihad Airways from London Heathrow Airport to Mumbai via Abu Dhabi on 16th October 2011 (London to Abu Dhabi flight EY 012, Abu Dhabi to Mumbai flight EY 206). On arrival at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport I found my checked in baggage damaged (Giordano 32'' Travel Gear). I reported to the attending staff immediately and their manager took note of the baggage and all the details (I have a copy of Damaged Baggage Report filled by on duty manager)
Couple of days later an agent collected the damage bag from my residence. Next day I got a response from Etihad baggage handling department (Santosh Patel, [protected]@etihad.ae) and they mentioned that the baggae is beyond repair and none of their service agent can repair it. They asked for the original bill to get the claim. However, since the bag was purchased in 2009 I dint have any bill but have the warranty card. I contacted Lifestyle stores (from where Bag was purchased) and they say that warranty card with stamp and signature is a valid proof of sale.
My baggage is damaged by Etihad airlines and instead of giving any compensation they have caused big trouble. I have to visit lifestyle store several time to collect a duplicate receipt or any info. I have to mail Etihad Airways so many times to get a reply. I read several such instances on internet where passengers suffered by Etihad. I want to take this complaint forward to Consumer Court to prevent such incidences by Etihad Airways and its staff.
Please help me with the procedure and advice to proceed.

Damaged check-in bag

I was travelling from New Delhi to Chicago by Etihad airways on March 6, 2011, booking reference 33FJQD (EY 211 and EY 151).
On reaching Chicago, I found that my check-in bag (a trolley bag) was broken from the front side near the handle.
I lodged the complaint after reaching my destination on the same day 6th of March.
I was asked to attach pictures of the damaged bag only to be informed later over email that "the damage was not significant and hence no compensation could be given.
Shocking response it was from airline boasting that it was world's best airline to a business class passenger who travelled all the way from Delhi to Chicago and back on the same airlines.
Why should my baggage be subjected even to a minor damage?
I thought perpaps your forum could help me get compensation.

Airlines are taking passengers for a ride and this is totally unacceptable. I suffered the same fate with Spicejet airlines on a recent trip where in my suitcase has been damaged like anything.

THIS AGREEMENT is made today between ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK of the 1st party and you as a 2nd party.
For good consideration, ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK employs the Employee on the following terms and conditions.
ARTICLE 1: CONTRACT PERIOD
The contract period shall be for Contract duration: The contract shall last for duration of 60 consecutive months; 5 years and could be renewed based on employee's satisfactory services to the Company.
ARTICLE 2: SALARY
ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK shall pay Employee on satisfactory performance of the services the sum of (£ 8,630) Eight Thousand Six Hundred & Thirty GBP Basic (Tax inclusive) MONTHLY. i.e. after Tax monthly, equivalent depending on employee's home country.
The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of travel documents. Reimbursements shall be made before employees embark on journey not later than Five (5) working days after submission of employee's expense report and receipts, this after the acquisition of relevant travelling papers through the assistance of the company's legal adviser on Immigration Matters..
Employer shall also take care of employees' air ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee (ONLY TWO FAMILY MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED)
ARTICLE 3: Duties and Position.
ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK hires the Employee in the capacity of Employee's duties may be reasonably modified at ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK discretion from time to time.
ARTICLE 4: Employee to Devote Full Time to ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK.
The Employee will devote full time, attention, and energies to the business of the Aviation industry, and, during this employment, will not engage in any other business activity, regardless of whether such activity is pursued for profit, gain, or other pecuniary advantage. Employee is not prohibited from making personal investments in any other businesses provided those investments do not require active involvement in the operation of said companies.
ARTICLE 5: Confidentiality of Proprietary Information.
Employee agrees, during or after the term of this employment, not to reveal confidential information from rendering any services to any entity to whom said information has been or is threatened to be disclosed, the right to secure an injunction is not exclusive, and the COMPANY may pursue any other remedies it has against the Employee for a breach or threatened breach of this condition, including the recovery of damages from the Employee.
ARTICLE 6: Disability.
In the event that the Employee cannot perform the duties because of illness or incapacity for a period of more than 1 month, the compensation otherwise due during said illness. The Employee's full compensation will be reinstated upon return to work. However, if the Employee is absent from work for any reason for a continuous period of over 2 months, the COMPANY may terminate the Employee's employment, and the ETIHAD AIRWAYS obligations under this agreement will cease on that date.
ARTICLE 7: Termination of Agreement.
Without cause ETIHAD AIRWAYS may terminate this agreement at any time upon 30 days' written notice to the Employee, the Employee will continue to perform his/her duties and may be paid his/her regular salary up to the date of termination. In addition, ETIHAD AIRWAYS will pay the Employee on the date of the termination a severance allowance, less taxes and Social Security required to be withheld, without cause, the Employee may terminate employment upon 30 days' written notice to the Employer. Employee may be required to perform his or her duties and will be paid the regular salary to date of termination but shall not receive severance allowance. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement,
ARTICLE 8: Death Benefit.
Should Employee die during the term of employment, ETIHAD AIRWAYS shall pay to Employee's Next of kin/Family any compensation due through the end of the two months in which death occurred.
ARTICLE 9: OTHER BENEFITS
. Free medical care in United Kingdom for you and your family for contract duration.
. Excellent educational assistance benefits with family status contracts.
. Complete meals also for you and your family as deemed appropriate.
. Life insurance Policy.
.Maximum and efficient security both in work place and housing.
ARTICLE 10: Effect of Prior Agreements.
This Agreement supersedes any prior agreement between the ETIHAD AIRWAYS or any predecessor of the ETIHAD AIRWAYS and the Employee, except that this agreement shall not affect or operate to reduce any benefit or compensation inuring to the Employee of a kind elsewhere provided and not expressly provided in this agreement.
ARTICLE 11: Settlement by Arbitration.
Any claim or controversy that arises out of, or relates to this agreement, or the breach of it, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the United Kingdom Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
ARTICLE 12: Severability.
If, for any reason, any provision of this agreement is held invalid, all other provisions of this agreement shall remain in effect. If this agreement is held invalid or cannot be enforced, then to the full extent permitted by law any prior agreement between the ETIHAD AIRWAYS (and any predecessor thereof) and the Employee shall be deemed reinstated as if this agreement had not been executed.

The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of travel documents. Reimbursements shall be made before employees embark on journey not later than Five (5) working days after submission of employee's expense report and receipts, this after the acquisition of relevant travelling papers through the assistance of the company's legal adviser on Immigration Matters..
Employer shall also take care of employees' air ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee (ONLY TWO FAMILY MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED)
ARTICLE 3: Duties and Position.
ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK hires the Employee in the capacity of Employee's duties may be reasonably modified at ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK discretion from time to time.
ARTICLE 4: Employee to Devote Full Time to ETIHAD AIRWAYS UK.
The Employee will devote full time, attention, and energies to the business of the Shipping industry, and, during this employment, will not engage in any other business activity, regardless of whether such activity is pursued for profit, gain, or other pecuniary advantage. Employee is not prohibited from making personal investments in any other businesses provided those investments do not require active involvement in the operation of said companies.
ARTICLE 5: Confidentiality of Proprietary Information.
Employee agrees, during or after the term of this employment, not to reveal confidential information from rendering any services to any entity to whom said information has been or is threatened to be disclosed, the right to secure an injunction is not exclusive, and the COMPANY may pursue any other remedies it has against the Employee for a breach or threatened breach of this condition, including the recovery of damages from the Employee.
ARTICLE 6: Disability.
In the event that the Employee cannot perform the duties because of illness or incapacity for a period of more than 1 month, the compensation otherwise due during said illness. The Employee's full compensation will be reinstated upon return to work. However, if the Employee is absent from work for any reason for a continuous period of over 2 months, the COMPANY may terminate the Employee's employment, and the ETIHAD AIRWAYS obligations under this agreement will cease on that date.
ARTICLE 7: Termination of Agreement.
Without cause ETIHAD AIRWAYS may terminate this agreement at any time upon 6 days' written notice to the Employee, the Employee will continue to perform his/her duties and may be paid his/her regular salary up to the date of termination. In addition, ETIHAD AIRWAYS will pay the Employee on the date of the termination a severance allowance, less taxes and Social Security required to be withheld, without cause, the Employee may terminate employment upon 6 days' written notice to the Employer. Employee may be required to perform his or her duties and will be paid the regular salary to date of termination but shall not receive severance allowance. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement,
ARTICLE 8: Death Benefit.

For this reason, the Management Board revised her International Recruitment Policies which entails that all Job applicants MUST bear all travel costs and on arrival to London, present receipts of payments made and will be reimbursed accordingly. Any applicant who finds this unbearable should forfeit this opportunity immediately.
5. REIMBURSEMENT OF IMMIGRATION EXPENSES, HEALTH CHECKUP & OTHER EXPENSES
All expenses made by Job applicants will be fully reimbursed on arrival to London or if applicants meet all Immigration requirements, we will send the Salary & Reimbursement application Forms for applicants to complete and return to our Accounts department for approval. Once approved, we will authorize our Bank to transfer funds to any Bank Account designated by such an

6. JOB DESCRIPTION, HOTEL ACCOMMODATION AND FEEDING
All details pertinent to this Job Offer, duties and responsibilities will be made available to applicants on arrival to London for the Orientation/ Training Program.
However, Hotel reservations/ Accommodation and Feeding will be our full responsibility.
7. ORIENTATION/ TRAINING PROGRAMME
There will be a mandatory Orientation/ Training Program on 09/04/2010
Newly Employed staff is expected to immediately get their Travel documents and Visa ready at least a week before this date to ensure that they meet up with time.
During the Orientation/ Training Program, newly employed staff of ETIHAD AIRWAYS will be enlightened on the Work out sketch, schedules and time- table. All questions pertaining to newly offered Job will be addressed during this period.
Additionally, newly employed staff of ETIHAD AIRWAYS will be made familiar with the Working environment, Staff and key executives of ETIHAD AIRWAYS.

How can Indians be so gullible to such dubious job offers? Don't you all have such basic common sense, as to how one will offer you a contract without an interview and communicating through gmail.com, live.com email accounts?
India is a land of 90% fools. No wonder we have such corrupt politicians, Millions of Godmen fooling us on a dialy basis, people dividing us on religion and thriving teleshopping network selling rings and chains for prosperity, wealth and good health. And we cliam that we would be the superpowers by 2050 with such abundance of fools around us. Thank God, we have atleast 5% sensible thiniking people who run this country with the help of the other 5% money making politicians.

Laptop/Mobiles stolen from main luggage
It was very bad day today and I hope it will going to put Etihad Airways Brand in trouble. I travelled from Dublin - Chennai on Etihad airways and arrived Chennai on 13/March/09. In the Chennai airport I was told by the Etihad employee that my main luggage was not arrived and it will come in the next flight from Abu Dhabi. I got endorsement from the Customs Officer for the main luggage and lodged complaint to Etihad. As they promised, the lugagge was delivered to my Chennai residence.
In was shocked when I noticed that my brand new Sony Laptop, two new mobile phones have stolen. I was further shocked to hear from the Manager of Chennai Etihad Airways (baggage), that "It is not their responsibilities'.
I talked to Abu-Dhabi head office and waiting some response from them hopefully. My sincere advise to customers is please don't ever try to travel on Etihad Airways.

Hi I to have complaint regarding my luggage in my bag. I travelled from Newyork to Mumbai on 21nd March. When I reached Mumbai I found that my luggage in the cargo bag was tampared. I found that my sony handy and charger for laptop is stolen. Is there a way I can complaint? My luaggage ref number is 3QFQUN /SEQ NR 038

Did you get your laptop back? Someone stolen my laptop from my car yesterday within 5 minutes of duration. They broke the glass window of the back door and picked the laptop from there. I am at a huge loss because it contains all my personal and business information. You can say.. they have not stolen my laptop but my mind.. I lost everything !!

we have a horrible experience, My wife and son travelled on etihad airline from New york to cochin on 28th Jan 2010, she was suppose to travel on Kuwait airline but due to the delay in connecting flight, she traveled on etihad airways. she got her luggage after two days only. The shocking thing was all the three luggage was opened and almost everything was stolen. they took even my son's diapers and used creams. give compliant to airline and the response was very bad. we lost many invaluable things and I don't know how to express my feelings... really horrible
