Subject: COMPLAINT REGARDING SECURITY HAZARD WHILE TRAVELLING IN INDIAN RAILWAYS
To: [protected]@nic.in
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am writing this mail to bring to your attention towards a very bad management of the Railways, causing security problem while travelling. Our mail is related to a current activity of Rail service at this moment of time.
We are the passengers of Secunderad exp (Train number:2791), travelling on todays train i.e. boarded the train on 17/03/2010 at secunderabad and we are still in train. The scheduled arrival at Patna was 19.10 hrs, but its now 22.40 and we are still midway somewhere near Danapur, the matter here is not just the train getting late, but the main thing I want to point out here is that "the train was at right time before Danapur, and was even before time till Mughalsarai".
"If the Train can run so accurately in other areas why does it not happen in Danapur division, why this thing has become a common practice in this area?"
And the worst part of this story is that currently our train is standing at such a vulnerable place where any untoward incident can happen any time and we are very much panicked by travelling in such a bad and pathetic condition. There will also be security hazards after reaching the destination, as it will become very difficult and problematic to reach our home, if our train reaches in midnight (and still we dont have any idea when will it reach).
The train attandent /TTE travelling with us also does not have any exact idea.He is not in a position to answer any thing. He is just always bothered to snatch some extra bit of money from the pockets of the waitlisted passengers.
One more complaint here we have is, extra charging of money from catering service and their rates have further been hiked two times or even more after train getting late.We can just relate it to the Day Time Robbery by authorised Railway agency/service.
The train contains a different mix of people including very old senior citizens, handicapped passengers and so on.
So I request you to look into the matter urgently and seriously so that "WE THE PASSENGERS" could reach safely to our home.
We shall be thankful for the action taken by you.

This is regarding the train which is running from Rajgir to New Delhi (Shramjeevi Express 2391) which is constantly running late from the last 4 to 5 months and this creates a problem for passengers who are travelling for Lucknow and New Delhi. This was supposed to be the best train but now a days it has lost the importance. The timings are very good for this train but its always ruuning late while starting from Rajgir to Delhi. 2392 which Starts on time from delhi and reaches the destination as per th schedule.
There is no name plate outside the coaches and maintaince is poor for sleeper classes.
Please try to resolve the issue and this is the most important train for New Delhi.
I hope railway will take action.

Udar Shankar

Railways — A/C deliberately kept off in Shatabdi Express
On[protected] I was travelling from Haridwar Junction to New Delhi by Shatabdi Express 2018. The moment the train entered Haridwar Station I boarded the C4 coach. I was surprised to see that the AC was not working. After the train left the station I showed my ticket to the TTE and then asked him to turn on the AC. He summoned the AC staff and turned the AC on. Till the next station that is Roorkee the AC was working fine then there were a group of passengers who started to tell the TTE to turn the AC off because they were sitting in the Middle. I had unfortunately got a seat in the front. The TTE obliged them and turned off the AC without even knowing my status of affairs. My baby was suffocating in the coach and my wife nearly had an asthama attack. I tried to convince the staff (TTE and the AC staff) to turn the AC on, but they told that because of the passengers they could not turn on the AC at all. the TTE infact threatened me to keep quiet or detrain. My question is1. Can the railway authorities be influenced to turn off the AC.?
2. Just because few passengers are feeling cold why do you turn off the AC to cause inconvinience to other passengers?
3. Why can't the TTE and the AC staff in a premeir train like shatabdi be more co-operative and understanding?
My PNR number of the ticket was[protected]
Please attend this complaint and take suitable actions. I want my money back.
since there is no train from pune to chandrapur. we have to face big problems the private buses charges rs 1500 for only 750km per head. and in vaccations we have to face big problems about resevation. irequest the management to give us a train from pune to ballarpur Maharashtra so that the people of andra pradesh also will satisfied.
Respected Railway Minister,
Hope you and your family are doing well.
May God bless you for your relentless efforts in building our railway to a better system.
My name is Anoop Jacob and I am from Bangalore. Please be informed that, we (Indian Citizens) are very proud to have the oldest and the longest railway network in the world. We are very proud to see our railway network is being scaled to greater limits as per requirement. Thank you for understanding the needs and meeting them.
I understand while taking care of the needs of people, often the quality is unfortunately a compromise factor, because of the population in India. However, just to address few concerns which normally is normally seen among all age groups are as below:
1) The quality of trains in "Southern India" could be definetly improved in terms of
"Foot boards", "Doors", "Births", "Windows and the window covers" and last but not the least,
the "Toilets".
Eg:
Train Number: 6526
Train Name: Kanyakumari express.
Scenario: (Remember, all the below incidents were seen in a single journey to Kerala)
1) I have seen a footboard hanging after breaking from the fixation.
2) Doors can never be closed, resulting in many people without reservation are occupying the train
illegally.
3) Births are not covered well and we can see so many cockroaches and lizards making them thier
homes. It is really nice to be a part with nature and feel those insects all around ur neck and face while
travelling a 10 hours journey.
4) Windows and Window covers - Cannot be closed and stoppers used are of metal which are very old
and rusted. One baby cut his hand because of these sharp edged / low quality bogies.
5) Toilets - I literally see a huge burrow and I see "Rats" in it. They wont come out when we are inside,
but again, life with rats is not a easy task specially when it is dark.
Other problems:
- Lights don't work in the rest rooms.
- Flush system is never a possibility.
- No proper water supply.
- Last, but not the least, we find so many "disabled and poor people" boarding the train even in AC
coaches, singing songs and disturbing people for money. I really think we need to stop them from
entering the trains and even if they enter the trains, we should make it very strict that they cannot annoy
the passengers who are travelling paying the money for thier comfort.
- Noise of every bogies are like the train has hit another train and it's too scary for the people sitting inside
and travelling. Many young kids gets scared and keep crying the whole journey disturbing everybody.
- Mobile charge points are there, but "no" power sockets / charge points are broken.
We really hope "You" being an Indian Citizen who has taken an oath to help us being in such a high position, realize the fact that, meeting the needs is always appreciable by most. However, we would appreciate if you could "please" improve the quality of our Journey. If there is any "help" that you need from me as an individual, please let me and I am happy to do so.
My contribution to help railways so far:
1) I have made sure "I" dont throw the waste in the train and I use the garbage bins in the station
platform "only". I have also always advised 100's of people by now to do the same.
2) I have fixed a bolt which was lose on one of the birth.
3) I purchased a power socket and replaced it with 2 screws so that people can use them.
4) I have taken 10 print-outs of "requesting" people to please keep the train clean and sticked it near
every rest rooms. (I dint have much time as the train stopped for hardly 10 minutes in that station)
5) I have informed the T.T with so many examples about the situation.
Hope you please read my email and reply me, as I "AM" expecting a reply from you on the same.
Thanking you again for your wonderful efforts so far!
Cheers!

Indian Railway — POOR SERVICE FROM INDIAN RAILWAY
Sir,My wife and three friends are traveling from Kayankulam Junction to Palakkad since 1.00 AM today (26.03.2010) by Amrita Express (6343). It is now 7.48 hours late. Though time at Palakkad is 7.25 for Amrita express, due to line maintenance between mulanthuruthy and ernakulam trains are late. What I have to tell is if there is such a possibility to late by more than time required to travel, either SR could change the route via Aleppey or inform passengers in advance (they have given press release about cancellation/route change of so many trains from 15.03.2010 to 26.03.2010, no where it is mentioned about Amrita express). What is losing is my wife and her three friends have to attend a national seminar at Coimbatore from this morning till tomorrow evening and to present papers and they cannot attend the same. they are loosing a big opportunity in life due to negligence from railway. The major complaint is that train which is late by 7.48 hours to travel a distance of only 266 km, with lot of ladies and children don't have a pantry car to support the passengers. It is true that the train is running in night and no need for pantry car. but yesterday also this train was late by 4-5 hours, so SR could have consider the chance for the same next day also. the train stops in between stations for hours and passengers are starving for food and water. this is unbearable and what railway is doing is inhuman. At least railway could provide food and water not free of cost, passengers will pay, when they stop train in between stations for hours and hours. After all we are using railway after paying money and this money is used to feed the family of the officers and staff of Indian railway who should take decision in such critical issues.
when i came on 24th 2010 at mithala exepress on that AC coach head TTI was used the bad languges for me or my all familly .and his refused my seat .and his shown aur pawer on me .he told if i give 1000 repess than he again give my seat of that resion i comlain at muzzaferpur station but i cant got any fed back now please do samthing for that.i[censored] not take any action then i like to talk respected mamta banrjee.

Indian Railways Tt Misbehaviour — Misbehaviour of TT
Dear SirThis is the same experience which has happened with my mother and 3 aunts who where travelling in Navjeevan express from Baroda (BRC) to Warangal return journey. We had booked an E ticket (Tatkal) and i left them after the train started. After one hour i got a call from my mother that the TT is asking them to get down or pay 3000 Rs for 4 people. One of the passenger was having a Xerox copy and the TT was behaving with utmost rudeness, you know how they play around with rules which is difficult to be understood by a common old housewives. I personally spoke with the guy over phone and tried to convince him in a polite fashion, requested him that i will arrange some one to bring originals at destination or even arrange an scanned copy or give hime photocopies in next station before it reaches surat for all passengers, and felt that really these kind of guys are not needed for our country. At last they had to pay 3000 Rs and i have requested my mom to keep the ticket and reciept etc, along with the photograph of the guys who were behaving too rudely with the fellow passengers. If the railway authourities will not take action against these kind of guys, i have to personally meet the Sr. Gen Manager along with the Photo of the TT and meet him in person. As it was an embarassing situation for Ladies travelling alone.
I would request the authourities to take the complaint seriously or else we have to take action, with photo prrof of the guys and reciept & ticket copies.
Regards
Bharath
The enquiry no:139 at Hyderabad does not respond properly. When call is connected to enquiry officer, it rings continuously but no one attends and call disconnects.
sometimes though enquiry officer if connected, does not have proper knowledge. What is the use of putting such officers if information is not known, e.g. If from source to destination there is no direct train then some coaches are detached and attached in between the journey for making journay feasible from source to destination. But the enquiry officer and the 139 number after wasting a lot of time and call charges (because it is not toll free) is unable to provide such information. The information they are used to give is same available in the net.
This may please be taken care of and your enquiry officers may be educated with all such information.
Thanks

I am a season pass holder from Mansarovar to Byculla. Today, I at 12.30 pm I was going to CSTM for that I bought a second class return ticket from Parel to CST and back. I boarded at Parel in Ist class comparment since my pass is valid till Byculla. I was supposed to travel in IInd class between Byculla to CSTM.However, I could not change the compartment from Ist to IInd class since I didnt know as to when Byculla station passed away. I came to know only when ticket checker boarded at byculla and asked me the ticket and was penalised Rs. 291/- for it since I my pass was valid til Byculla and I did not moved to IInd class compartment at Byculla. Fine, but I would like to put forward following point.
a) My intention was not malacious since I bought a second class ticket.
b) TT should have suggested me deboard at next station i.e. at Sandhurst.
c) He did not give time to listen me.
d) I feel Rs. 291/- was charged excessively.
can i travel with a coramandal express superfast train ticket in another train - janmabumi express train.

I was travelling from LKO to Mumbai from Pushpak Express on[protected] in coach no. B1 and in that coach the mobile chargers are not working properly .Please try o manage he AC coahes as much as possible. Dear Sir,
I had travelled in 1st AC in Train no 2967 - Jaipur Express from Chennai to Nagpur on 13th April 2010, Coach No HA1, PNR NO.[protected] & Ticket No 72633149. The entire 1st Coach was full of cockroaches on the berth, on the floor, on the tables, even they mangaged to get in our food due to which we had to throw the same. On complaining to the T.T. & the Coach Attendant they were least bothered & said "What can we do."
We have been cheated by the INDIAN RAILWAYS, what is the point of paying double the fare & travelling in 1st AC when we have to sleep with cockroaches in such unhygienic conditions, even the cleanliness was poor & no one is bothered. I expect an immediate reply & refund otherwise I shall proceed to the consumer forum.
