Sir I am Amit S. Tiwari. Today we went to PVR JUHU to watch a Movie DONOT DISTURB and asked there at the counter for the two tickets for 1:30pm show and we paid for the two tickets rupees 500 through our ICICI Debit Card at 12:46pm. I also asked for corner seats of the middle column and when I checked the tickets just after coming out of the queue, found that we have been given wrong tickets of the already running show of 12:30pm and then again following the queue which took 10-15minutes told them about the mistake, we were told by the staff there that wait for sometime and let that lady named Farjana come and those guys there at the counter were continuously saying that it is not my personal mistake so let her come and kept us waiting for more than 30minutes willingly I think. Again I asked them, and then they told that her number is busy so please wait because it is her fault so you have to talk to her only and I asked them to tell me where she is? So I will go and talk to her myself and they told me to move to 3rd floor. At the 3rd floor I was allowed to enter the PVR only after a person checked us and marked the ticket with pen and then allowed us to enter. She was not there so we talked to a person sitting opposite to the entrance of the PVR main door and he made a call to Farjana twice but she was not receiving or something like that so he went himself along with our tickets and told us to wait inside for 5minutes and after 5-10minutes that lady Farjana appeared with our tickets in her hand and told us that it was our fault and we had asked for 12:30pm show and she had given us what we wished for and she had announced 12:30pm show twice before giving print to the tickets. She then moved alone to a room named STAFF ACCESS and kept us waiting for 5minutes then a person came along with her and told that they can do just nothing because the next show and next to next is Houseful though there were no symptoms like that. I asked them to please let me meet higher administration but he said that he has not arrived till now. I also asked for his contact detail but he did not provide saying that he is not allowed to give his personal number. I asked for the refund then they said they cannot do that. In between that he kept saying sorry to us and that lady was continuously saying that it was our fault and she has given us right ticket on our demand.
Sir I am attaching the camera clicked copy of those untorn tickets and I can provide photocopy as well as original of those tickets if required. The way the staff behaved was strictly unprofessional and also quite impolite. For a middle class person it is too much to pay 500 rupees for nothing and being treated like that. I was fan of watching movie in PVRs but it was the worst experience in such a reputed multiplex. The incident ruined my day and gave me mental tension for being cheated like this. Is it only the way that money can be earned?

Serial No. 2868/2/2/03/000242 and 2868/2/2/03/000243.
Audit No. 1905791.
E-0259/SR.NO. 000131/132
Invoice No. 049173

Kindly consider my problem that I faced there at PVR JUHU MUMBAI and please take the necessary steps as soon as possible to save the faith of a common man.

I happened to take my kids to PVR (FORUM MAll Bangalore) for a 3D screening of the newly released animation movie 'UP'. As such we watch it regularly at home but wanted them to experience the 3D version.

Paid 1800 rupees for their GOLD class experience. Unfortunately I forgot to read the small print on the huge 3D poster about ('3D in select Theaters').

In my opinion they should not be putting up a life size 3D poster (Cut out with 3D projection) while the real thing is 2D. As can be expected the images were out of focus most of the time which is not unusual if experienced in 2D projection.

    This is cheating.

Just not movies. These days every thing comes with Condition apply tag.

    HORRIBLE...!!!
All these malls take away a lot from the movie yaar.. its a plight, i was previously disappointed with ice age 3 (which was to be in 3D).

To think that B'lore does not have a single theatre to show 3D movies, man it sucks!!
India is all about cheating and Bangalore is the best place to get bumped like this.
For that matter Fame is quite good. For the latest 3D Avtar, they devided their theatres into 2D and 3Ds

PVR has charged me for tickets that have failed during booking...
I had done everything from their website and the transaction failed.
But I had already given my credit card info for booking...

I was trying to book tickets for more than 45 min on the website on Sat Aug 1. I had 2 transaction failures for the card. I checked the Members Area and I did not see any tickets booked after the failures. But the amount (660) was credited to my credit card. When I logged in 4 days into PVR website, I can see one of the transactions has passed. I did not receive any SMS communication. I also missed the movie. Only one of the transactions has been reversed.

I spoke to customer support and they are not giving me a refund on this.
This is a problem with their website and they are not ready to accept this.

          Resolved

          Dear Sir,

It is with extreme disappointment and distress that I write to you, but I have been left with no choice.
In a horrible event at PVR, SRS-Faridabad, i came to see the ugly face of PVR staff that how they believe to treat their customers & present them as who's who of PVR at their shows in night.

On Saturday (18th July) night, i bought two tickets of "Harry Potter & Half blood prince" in evening around 7:30 PM for 10:30 PM show.

When we reached 10:30 PM to watch the movie, then security guard checked our tickets & let us go in & thereafter hall clerk along with usher do the same & help us to reach to our seat. Then we happily started to watch the movie as ever before till the PVR staff along with then deputed supervisor humilited us in front of all others. Not only us even they did the same thing to one more family too.

Infact, when we had already watched the movie for about half an hour, then a PVR executive rushed to us & asked us to show the tickets. And then very rudely asked us to come out of the hall immediately. Before we could understand all this, i came to know that their ticket clerk Mr Rahul issued us wrong show timing tickets (7:30 PM) despite of my repetitevely request for 10:30 show tickets apparently because all people then was asking for current show tickets(7:30 PM).

Then finally their supervisor of that shift had suddenly come to us & started yelling the hell on us. I would also like to highlight here that he was also drunk on the duty.

After ascertaining the matter, instead of accepting the fault of their ticket cleark he started blaming us for using the expired tickets. He agreed that it is an overlooking over their clerk part but was not agreed to admit his mistake just because its his routine job so he can not make a mistake. We should have been looked at the timing after purchase. Its pretty obvious that when he was so sure that he can not issue us wrong ticket because of routine job so were we also becuase we have also been buying the tickets on routine basis & never come to face such situation.

Then suddenly that supervisor snatched the ticked from me & started asking for more money & pushed us to leave the hall immediately in uncourteous and illmannered way stating that we overlooked the ticket timing. If this was a mistake which almost everyone does at the time of purchase because it is kind of routine for all o[censored]s but i should not be asked to pay illegitimate charges rather my tickets should be replaced with the another one free of cost since there was plenty of time was left. Moreover if it (overlooking) was my fault then what was that which ticket clerk did while issuing me the ticket & moreover the security gaurd, hall cleark or the usher who all checked the ticket before letting us into the hall...????????

Instead of accepting all above, he kept on shouting to get another ticket or leave the hall... it was so appalling the way i was treated. They neither offered a sorry nor another ticket instead made us buy another ticket and on top of it did some amount of mishandling also by snatching tickets form me...

Moreover, he was trying to show his superiority that he is working with top corporate. Hence, with all your due permission i would also like to highlight here that i am working with one of the top most corporate i.e Maruti Udyog & getting handsome salary may be four times of what he is getting in this corporate.

At last we had to come back to our home & gone throught such mental distress. Against which least i expect to compensated with returning of my money back to me with complementary two free tickets along with an apology letter in writing from supervisor that he'll not do such thing again in future not only with me but to any one.

I realize that my situation may not be different, but I find this level of service completely unacceptable.

Hence, i want a reply in above manner in three days else i have to go to Consumer Forum & register a case of Mental distress & trauma.

Please let me know if PVR Cinema finds this request unreasonable. I appreciate the time you have taken to read this Your earliest action in this regard shall highly be regarded.

Advertisement of the timings of show of the film 99 in PVR Cinemas, juhu have been wrongly printed in the Mumbai Mirror. In the newspaper they have mentioned a 8.30 show of 99 but there isnt any show of that movie at that time.On sunday(21/6/2009) seeing the show timing in the newspaper, I went all the way from mulund to juhu with my family to see the 8.30 show of 99 but on reaching there I was told there is no 8.30 show.On asking the manager of PVR Cinemas, juhu about the mistake he tol me that he could not help and its the distributors mistake.
To my surprise Mumbai Mirror, dated 22/6/2009, 23/6/2209/, 24/6/2009 still have the 8.30 show printed. It is very sad to know that customers are misguided.

My wife’s credit card which is linked to our common standard chartered card account went missing from Nirmal Lifestyles, Mulund, Mumbai where she was shopping for groceries at shoprite hyper supermarket. This card which was used by her at Shoprite, went missing, & was misused immediately by someone for purchases at PVR theatre which is also in Nirmal Lifestyles, on the date[protected]. There are 3 fraud transactions totally amounting to Rs. 4, 450. On raising a dispute with standard chartered, they said they will conduct an investigation, & later provided me 3 swipe chargeslips for the fraud transactions that were clearly forged, as the thief had got the initials in my wife’s signature wrong. All 3 transactions have been completed in less than a minute according to the transaction time. The card is a sky blue coloured photo credit card. This clearly means that most probably it is the job of someone from PVR cinemas who is connected with ticket sales. How else does a merchant swipe a photo credit card 3 times in less than a minute after ignoring a photo id available on the card? It is quite clear that the credit of Rs. 4, 450 into the account of PVR cinemas through these fraud transactions has enabled the culprit to make some adjustments & pocket an equivalent amount of cash from the cash counter. The caliber of people employed at PVR cinemas is highly questionable. After sending a few letters to standard chartered wherein I have given them in writing that the transactions are fraudulent, explaining the facts to them in the clearest possible manner, now they insist that I should pay the amount, inspite of the unfair business practices going on at PVR cinemas, & have even charged me a late payment fee of about Rs. 500 for non payment of the amount. On speaking to standard chartered I was told that it was the way things go when the merchant does not agree to reverse the transaction. It is very surprising how credit card companies sweet talk you into becoming their cardholder, give you a photo credit card, & when the cardholder has to face this kind of a situation, you actually get to know how loose & unfair is the credit card business. Merchants like PVR cinemas tend to ignore photo id available on a photo credit card, then they charge it, & if a dispute arises, they take the shameless stance of not agreeing to reverse the transaction, like what has happened here. And then there are weak credit card rules, & lack of proper purchase authentication techniques like numerical pin / fingerprint which are not so popular in India.
It is quite interesting to see that there is always a line-up of new complaints especially relating to credit card charges going against PVR cinemas on most of the consumer complaint sites. People who tend to move in the vicinity of establishments like PVR cinemas in Mulund & Nirmal Lifestyles should be warned about this incident, as there are other cases of stolen credit cards in Nirmal Lifestyles. I wish to know why PVR cinemas is unwilling to reverse the charges. The facts are in front of them. Is it the sweet taste of this income from theft that credit card companies are allowing disorganised, culprit organistaions like PVR cinemas to enjoy? And then there are the credit card companies like standard chartered who told me that they are conducting an INVESTIGATION, & haven’t even provided me details of their findings. And now they send me a letter stating that I am liable to pay the amount.
I strongly feel all authorities in consumer affairs should make it mandatory for credit card companies & merchant establishments to install card terminals that require numerical pin/fingerprint, etc. to authorise purchase transactions, & make this secure system mandatory. Why should only ATMs ask for pins. The credit card business is going through a boom in India in the last 5-8 years, which is still a state of infancy. With the population & lifestyle of people in India, with every home having servants, this could lead to a very difficult situation, wherein a servant might pick a card from a purse, & the rest is obvious. There are stupid credit card rules & insecure methods o[censored]sing it. Ultimately the card holder becomes a fool, who is forced to shell out his hard earned money towards fraud transactions.
I think PVR cinemas, & standard chartered need to work together on this to save their image, as both organizations have many complaints against them, or the increasing number of people reporting such incidents is going to tarnish their name. I also insist that the fraud transactions & late fee charged be reversed.

I had a v bad experience when i went to watch movie at PVR Cinemas in Mulund Today afternoon.I have a one yr old child, who happened to sleep in the car during the long drive from Thane to Mulund. I had taken little food & 1 biscuit packet for her since she hadnt eaten proper lunch from home. But the security & the staff did not let us take the biscuit inside saying that its against rules. How can a reputed Multiplex make such stringent rules - that too for a 1 yr old child. FInally, after too much requests, they said that the biscuit can be taken during interval. What kind of rule is this now? I do understand outside food not being allowed for adults. But how can anyone make a 1 yr old child understand that she can be hungry only during interval. When popcorn & other stuff are allowed during the whole movie period, why deprive a 1 yr old chiild from her basic needs? Later during interval, the biscuit wasnt served. I had to go & remind them.

Pls think twice before setting up such illogical, non customer friendly rules.

In case you plan to continue such rules, pls mention this on the ticket itself

there is very high and the unfair price of the snacks available in the theater premises of the PVR cinemas. the popcorn, cold drink rates are very high and unfair. no doubt the price of the tickets of the movie are reduce by the goverment but they are looting the consumer by selling them costlier snacks in their premises. so please check out about the problem.

Not only the snack price, they are now charging 350 Rs for weekend movie tickets & 250 Rs. for weekday movie tickets. Along with this the Popcorn & Pepsi prices are charged 75 Rs. each. This is totally unfair & the government needs to look into these private cinemas like PVR who is charging such an high price making it difficult for middle class families to watch movies with their families.
I am wondering that still people go & watch thus encouraging then to higher their prices.
I have stopped completely going to PVR & will urge people also to stop going & watch movies in local theaters rather than going to PVR. Spending 1000 bucks for a couple to watch movies on weekend is too much.

soft drinks and snacks — Higher Rate

                        Hi All,

Last week I went to movie at Thaluri Theatre @ ECIL X Road, In the intervel session i have ordered an pulpy orange(small) and a lays. The rate as per the Items are Pulpy Orange 20 Rs and Lays(15 Rs) but they have increased the cost of lays to 20Rs by pasting a small sticker on that and also have taken 25 Rs for pulpy orange, when i gave him 50 Rs intend he gave a change of 5 Rs.
when i asked them, the only statement i got "if you want to take plz take else leave it".

They are almost costing 5rs more per item.

Can someone take action on them.

                        Thanks & Regards

What is the cost of -

                        1 nachos
                        2medium popcorns and
                        3 small cold drinks
I cant understand or digest that a pack of medium or regular pop corn is RS.160 at PVR velachery
Really speaking pop corn is the cheapest snack one can afford. Are these pop corns made in heaven or by GOd.

What are the Govt food inspectors doing in this country or state .
where could these be made in to a complaints so that consumer rights could be established
i went to PVR Forum, Bengaluru on 4/23. The smallest available popcorn cup is priced at Rs.190 and if you add masala and cheese, it is costs about Rs.270! Popcorns are supposed to be affordable and it is unimaginable to pay more than what the ticket costs!

I dont know who does these checks and stops fleecing the customers.
They charged Rs 190 in PVR Hyderabad for a regular PEPSI. If there is any cause for it?

                        Tickets black

Mr mukesh and nisha at pvr cinemas is selling tickets in black
is ok to treat poor people by unfair means marketing and sales ?
                        Water price 30/- :(
Yeah, that's right. Price of snacks id really too high, i am totally agree with him and it should be down.
Are they putting gun on urs head to buy ???

dont buy if you feel that its high.. Common guys dont crib always for cost ... See the investment they did ..
Pvr snacks price has to be investigated by legal authorities. Ticket costing is 120each and snacks cost around 1000 just for 2 people and quality doesn't worth it
High Cost for regular soft drinks like Mirinda.. i.e., Rs. 190 for a regular glass. It should be reduced to half for common man. Else PVR should allow the people to carry snacks/soft drinks to carry with them while entering into cinemas.
This applies to almost all PVRs in Bangalore. If you are talking about the F&B prices, they are absolutely insane at PVRs and meant to loot the patrons. PVR folks, if you seeing - you are supposed to make profit but what you are doing is called profiteering (and very unethical).

I will tell you about yesterday (4th May 2018)

                        1 coffee - Rs 140
                        1 bottle of water (500 ml) - Rs 60
1 cheese popcorn (regular size) - Rs 270
                        2 samosas - Rs 120
                        1 Regular Pepsi - Rs 220

How on earth are these rates set and how are they even justifiable? Rs 60 for 500 ml of water? Really? The price of a simple filter coffee has gone up from Rs 80 some time back to Rs. 140 now. Heck, it has increased by Rs. 10 from my previous visit (less than a month ago). Government needs to place serious curbs. We citizens need to get this thing in check

                          Hello Sir,

I would like to file a complaint against the PVR cinemas. Last week, I went to Ambience Mall where I purchased 2 tickets for movie “The Dark Night” where the hall was almost empty at 9.30pm and then I decided to cancel my tickets at 10 pm and the show was starting at 10.45 pm, with some fine if any, as my daughter started to cry and I had to take her home. So I went to the counter for a refund with some deduction if any, they refused to entertain and told that once the ticket is purchased nothing can be done. I waster Rs.350 and felt very bad. Is it fine for PVR cinema to charge for a service they didn’t provide? Please confirm and/or take action against them. Thank you.

                          Regards,
                          Nabeel

PVR Cinemas — cancellation and refund of movie tickets

NEVER EVER BOOK TICKETS FOR PVR CINEMAS ONLINE. as I have already lost Rs.1300 as I had booked my tickets for the K row and received the booking for E row. This is their computer error for which I had to suffer. I plead to the consumers forum to please take up this matter urgently.

I would like to bring to consumer and PVR Management notice a major fraud happening in PVR Cinemas Bangalore. I purchased two tickets for evening movie on 15/07/09 at counter and the person gave me two tickets. I entered the cinema hall and found the seats were already allotted to someone else. When i asked the ticket checker, he said it is a printing mistake and requested me to adjust and sit in front rows where there are empty seats. Later after the movie i realized that the tickets given to me were cancelled by someone. In the application/software the ticket is cancelled and issued to other persons. But the hard-copy of the ticket was held by the counter person and it was given to me. I am sure that the money collected from me will go into counter person's pocket and not to PVR management. I cant believe PVR employees making frauds like this...

                            regards,
                            karthik

I was cheated yesterday at PVR Plaza Cannaught Place, New Delhi. I wanted one ticket for film Heroine for 7.15pm show in the normal class. At the ticket counter at 6.50 pm I was told that one ticket is available only in the the 4th row from the screen in normal class, but in premier class one ticket is available 4th row from the back. I got the premier class one. However, inside the theatre, I saw that except the last row in the normal class all the rows were vacant and that many seats were vacant in the rear rows of premier class. Then I understood, the countre boy cheated me...he wanted to sell me a higher priced ticket hence lied that ticket is available only 4th row from the screen in normal class. So, PVR people cheat this way!!!

                              Overcharging

                              Dear Sir/Madam,

PVR, Inox and other multiplexes grossly overcharge for refreshments. For example a 500 ml softdrink at PVR costs Rs 60 (almost 3 times the market rate) whereas a 300 ml cup costs Rs. 50 (5 times the market rate). There is no justification for such gross overcharging. In addition, by keeping the price of the 300 ml and 500 ml almost the same, they are indirectly forcing consumers to purchase 500 ml cups.br...

In the evening of 20 july'08, me and my family decided to go for the movie "KISMAT KONNECTION". We checked the newspaper(The Times of India) for the cinemas and the timing of the same. The newspaper showed "KISMAT KONNECTION" running in pvr saket and sahara mall, gurgaon(newspaper cuttings can be produced as documentary evidence). Since we live in connaught place we decide to go to pvr saket for the 8pm show. To our surprise they were not showing the movie, so we decided that since we have already burnt so much of fuel coming all the way from connaught place and taken so much time off for the movie so we were forced to watch something at pvr saket itself and bought tickets for the movie "CONTRACT". When we entered the hall we saw a board showing " NOW SHOWING-KISMAT KONNECTION". We were thoroughly confused and shocked, so we confronted the managment. The managment(Manager Mr. Yash) was very casual towards this and put the entire blame on the newspaper even though they had displayed a billboard with "NOW SHOWING- kISMAT KONNECTION" sign. They themselves agreed to the fact that it was not the first time it had happened, but they have failed to take any action towards this and thus causing so much inconvenience, mental agony and financial loss to us. Since it is deficiency in service they should pay us damages of Rs10000.

The pvr counter staff i really rude. Me and by friends went to watch jaane tu ya jaane na on 8 july, our show was at 5 40, we reached at 5 45, i and were 5 mins late already. As i had booked the show on phone, i had to avail the tickets by showing the pvr guy a slip which i had recieved. The manager was pretty rude when i asked him to hurry a bit, beacause he was buzy talking to his staff member not related to our ticket. So now this staff guy got pissed at us. Was giving me angry looks. So even i got angry & sternly asked him to give me the tickets fast. But he intentionely delayed printing out the ticket. In the end we were 20 mins late. 15 mins beacause of pvr staff. 5 mins work done in 15 mins and rude behaviour. So any pvr incharge...Train your StaFF!!
Please check good you change after paid, the girl casher all time forgot give you full change, as you go fast for not lost first movie part, you no check you change.

I Had requested for a 7:35 Show ticket insstead was given the 5:40 by the ticketing clerk. no one ( security, hall clerk, usher)checked it when we enterd the hall for the 7:35 show 10 minutes into the movie someone comes up and says you have a wrong show ticket. and then the manager says you go out of the hall ican't allow you ot sit here. the hall was empty with only 10 seats occupied but the entire staff was so rude uncourteous and ill mannered they did not accept the fault on behalf of their ticketing clerk or the security or the usher who all check the ticket before letting us into the hall... but kept on shouting get another ticket or leave the hall... it iwas so appalling the way i was treated. They neither offer a sorry or a remore or a discount instead made us buy another ticket and on top of it did some amount of man-handlign also by snatching tickets form me...
