[Resolved]  Sakthi Pearls — 1gm gold fashion jewellery sold for higher price

Dear sir/ madam,

Today(29/09/2011), I went to Sakthi Pearls, Nanganallur for the purchase of very simple and a small 1gm gold jewellery for my mother. This is the first time I am purchasing a covering jewellery and I am not aware of the price details. I picked one chain and a dollar. They told price is 2800 for chain and 100 for the dollar.

They told price of the today's gold is 2650 + 150 making charges. Unfortunately, today's gold price is 2439. I paid 2900 using my HDFC Debit card and reached home. My wife who was little aware of these jewellery told me that it will not cost that much, it can be only upto 1000 rupees maximum. She has bought 4 bangles for 500 rupees in Madurai.

I was very much surprised and went back to the shop to get back my money. He again told there will be 1gm gold in the chain and he told only the correct price. When I told the price was too high, he suggested me to take two .5gm gold jewellery.

He gave warrenty of 6 months and in the card which is been given, it is required to use continuously and if not in use we need to wash in good water and dry it using a cotton cloth and keep it. The reason is that is we keep just like that the sweat in that can cause green color coat which can not be removed. So, he is very safe with the warrenty that he can say it was kept without cleaning. The chain will be in 6 months warrenty period and after that it can be replaced with half the price of the jewellery.

The reason for my complaints are:

1. Whether these covering jewellery 1gm is equivalent to original gold 1gm ? And the price also to be taken with the same gold price ? After coming home, for all the products I checked in internet which is more fashionable and bigger design with necklace and ear ring, the price is much less that this, which is 1200 range.
2. Today gold price is 2439. But he mentioned as 2650. This is a cheat
3. In the warrenty card while telling that after 6 months I can purchase 660, he mentioned the price of jewellery as 660. That is after 6 months he can say i can get something for 330. This seems to be cheating in the billing

I guess this is a pure cheating by the vendor. First thing, I would not have to went for purchasing the jewellery which I was not aware of completely. I would have atleast took time to realize he is cheating me.

I request you to kindly pitch into this issue and get back my money from him.
