I have been a flipkart.com customer since the time it was launched. I really liked they way they took care of the customers, however my satisfaction was short-lived. I am facing one's worst fears of on-line shopping.
I had purchased this bloody product (TVC ICAM FHD 18 Camcorder Camera - OD[protected]) from flipkart, it was a gift for a friend. When the product arrived, it didn't work, we thought it was because the memory card was not there, therefore we ordered for a memory card, however even after that, the product didn't work. We took the product to the seller's workshop (which was located in one god damn corner of Mumbai), the seller accepted that there is a problem with the product and replaced it with another one. The next day we realised even the replaced product didn't work properly (i.e irrespective of how many hours we charged, the battery got drained out in 7-8 mins), therefore we requested flipkart for a refund. It was very shocking to see that how easily flipkart rejected my refund request stating that the seller has rejected it, without even finding out a proper reason (I had provided all these details in my first e-mail to flipkart but nobody bothered to read).
Then I called up the seller (TVC) to ask why did they reject the refund request, when I narrated the story, the seller agreed for a refund and asked me to get in touch with flipkart as the product was not directly purchased from them. When I again contacted flipkart, the first response I received was that I should ask the seller for a refund, I got extremely upset with this lousy attitude and wanted to escalate the matter, however nobody transferred my calls to a supervisor at the call centre. I provided all my details; i, e my bank account details as well as the address from where the item has to be picked up; over the phone as well as on e-mail but I didn't get any further response.
Today I was told by the supervisor to write to the disputes team and when I did, guess what, the e-mail bounced back because the e-mail id didn't exist. I am still waiting for a call/ e-mail from flipkart. Its been a nightmare dealing with these people who don't seem to understand my problem. I am still hopeful that they will turn around and address my complaint to my satisfaction, lets see if they meet my expectations.
