Power Failure complaint

I am residing in Perambur Door No : 19/14, Bharathi 2nd main Road , Perambur , Ch:11. Since past 1 week we are facing the Power cut problem, mainly in night time (Starts 10.00 pm & no end) , many complaints had been made to the concerned departments and no action ( the problem is happening daily), by yesterday i faced the problem the power cut happened by 10.15 pm i informed many times to concerned department no action, and then i straightly...

I am residing at 142/2, D Block, Sri Perumal Nagar extension, Nanmangalam, Chennai -600117. We are
facing a PROBLEM in our area THAT IS THE ELECTRICITY SHORTAGE in Nanmangalam Which coming under the keelkatallai TNEB office.
We are struggling a lot and not able to operate any of the electricity appliances due to the low voltage.

Could you please consider this complain and take the necessary action against it?

It's been pathetic, especially during evenings. Tubelights with normal choke won't turn on [if you got electronic ones, you're safe], fans just rotate but of no use, AC / Fridge switch on and off every 2 mins... Even my TV, turn off and on when the voltage fluctuates to extreme levels, thanks to the cut-off voltage in my Syscom stabilizer.

I'm residing in Nehru Nagar, Nanmangalam for 7 years now and this year is THE worst in terms of electricity.

We were told, about an year ago, that an upgraded transformer will be installed to meet the power requirements of the area, but I don't think that was ever done. There was indeed some new poles erected, not sure for what reason but they did nothing good for the situation.

Appreciate if any actions taken.

    Dear Sir,

    Iam residing at Plot No-2, SRI Permual Nagar, Nanmangalam, Chennai-117. We are facing severe voltage flucutations in our area from 8:00 P.M till early morning. I have already given a complaint to TNEB, Keelakattali regarding this and I was told that a transformer will be erected in that area soon but still the problem is not resolved.

    Also I have applied for Line conversion from Single Phase to 3 phase way back in Feb-10 and my name was displayed at no-4 in seniority list in TNEB office but no action has been taken so far on this issue as line conversion work itself is not taken by TNEB office due to lack of Manpower as per the sources.

    I request you to take this issue with TNEB office and address this ASAP as we are spending sleepless nights.

    RESPECTED SIR, AS I AM RESIDING IN PLOT NO 1 SANKARAPURAM 2ND STREET PALAVAKKAM, CHENNAI-600041, AS THE POWER WAS NOT THERE FROM SATURDAY (16/04/2011) I REGESTER MY COMPLAIN WENT TO THE EB OFFICE IT WAS SHOCKING THE DAY SHIFT LINE MEN WAS CONSUMING ALCHOL INSIDE THE OFFICE AND THE PLACE SEEMS TO BE NOT ORGANIZED AFTER 2 DAYS (AFTER CALLING SEVERAL TIMES TO THIRUVANMAYUR A E )THEY CAME ON SUNDAY 17/04/2011FOUND ITS A CABLE FAULT AND INFORMED ME DUE TO SUNDAY THE LINE MEN IS ON LEAVE, IF YOU BUY THE ELECTRIC WIRE WE CAN GIVE A DIRECT TEMPROARY CONNECTION FROM THE MAIN BOX I BROUGHT THE ELECTRIC WIRS COSTING RS1400 AND THEY TOLD VERY NEXT DAY THEY WILL CONNECT THE CABLE, AND LEFT,

      I am a student of engineering college and have been facing many problems due to irregular and uncertain power cuts . On May 12th the electricity went off at 1.00am for 2 hours which affected my final exam paper' preparation badly and was on brim of failing the exam. Moreover after battling hard in the exam when I came back home I expected to sleep for an hour from 2.00 pm the electricity suddenly went off while its power cut time is from 3.00 pm. It was expected to be a three hour cut but ended up in becoming a 4.30 hours of massive and irritative power in this hot and melting summer.
      There is no power cut besides the areas of Tambaram and Chennai city Then why are sub urban areas of chennai shedding all the power cut loads. I sincerely hope to take sum steps regarding this parciality of power cuts.

      For the past 6 months I am facing problem with my EB line and I haven't found any responds from the kolathur EB office, the problem I am facing are listed
      1.In my street approximately 40 houses is there out of this only my house is connected in one phase
      2. Repeatedly power cut only my line.
      3. No proper response in the EB office.
      4. No one ready to attend the call after 11.00 pm in EB office Ph:[protected]
      5. I was given three times written complaint to the AE but he was not taken proper action as yet.


      Dear sir, as my line is single phase line I want the proper voltage, till today there is no late fee are any of the bad remarks, if they are not ready to solve the problem. Yesterday there was no power from 7.00 pm onwards till 8.00 pm my mom & dad are aged people they are above 72 (senior citizens) because of this power cut they were unable to take rest the whole night I many time informed to them.I given a written compliant to A.E more than 3 times past months but no solution many time I tried the EB line[protected] but no response.I felt suffered kindly consider this in top priority and I need a solution for the same.

      Sir, my name is mani, i am living in karthikeyapuram 1st street madipakkam, every day power cut for midnight and low voltage...etc. i have called to eb office no lot of time they not response properly.



      pls solve this issue as soon.
      my name is mani, i am living in 1 st st, karthikeyapuram madipakkam for rent. house owner provide the electricity to three houses for one meter and they collected the charges R.S 5 per one unit. i already told to EB office but they not take the any action against it.

      Sir, as per our chief Minister - she says no power cut from june 1 st-but in our area madampakkam area purposefully cutting our line every day night 3 hours- after 7 or 10 calls only they will on the system

        Respected sir,

        Sub:-Rectification of Low Voltage Electric Supply/ Req. Erection of New Transformer.

        Iam T.K.Thampan (Flying Officer in Air Force) residing at 1/257, plot no.4, ezhumalai salai, 3rd street, Kovilambakkam, Nanmangalam, chennai-117, We suffering Low voltage problem for past 10years. I gave a complaint in TNEB Consumer Complaint and my Complaint code is TNEB_7175.And when i viewed the status of my complaint recently, it shows that the complaint is completed.But our low voltage problem is still sustaining. We request a erection of new transformer in our area.
        Your august office is requested to pass suitable instruction to the EB Keelkatalai for installation of a transformer in Ezhumalai Salai so as to retrieve the low voltage problem faced by the residents.The Association has been representing the case for the past five years and EB has assured to install a transformer.However, the residents are facing acute irregular flow of supply during day and night, resulting sleepless nights and causing health hazards.

        Everyday we are facing frequent low voltage and voltage fluctuations in our area.
        These voltage fluctuations are severe at night time (starting from 8PM till early morning). We could not use Air conditioner, PC or any kind of appliance.

        There is no electricity from last night (12/6/14). When complained they say there's a neutral cable fault. No one has come to rectify the issue yet. Please solve the issues quickly.

        regarding electricity cut daily about more than 3 - 4 hrs per day. and the TNEB persons in velachery not responding to the phone calls.

        Power goes off at night

        Power going off at night time by 10 pm on a daily basis, from there it starts irritating by getting on and off till 1 am in 6th lane shashtri nagar. This is a real torcher. Not sure whom to complain. As we have office in the morning, not able to have enough sleep. This is taking a toll on our health. We beg you people please fix this.

          Sir/Madam, i'm staying in nadukuppam village, cuddalore district, panrutti taluk, marungur JE OFFICE CONTROL here the power i'm getting very low voltage of current like 160V due to this problem i can't able to use cashew dryer, processing, Refrigerator, Computer. The whole area has the same problem. So plz kindly take a necessary step for this problem.

          I reside at the below address for around 25 years. We are facing severe low voltage issues, where in the home appliances never work. We work really hard to buy these home appliances, its very heart breaking to see them lying useless at home. Fridge does not work for more than 2 hrs daily, A/C never worked for more than 3 months now, it gets cooled sometimes for first 5 mins during day time or after 3 AM till 4AM in the morning. Even fans wont run fast, and HOME has become a HELL. :(
          We work in office for 12 hrs and dont get a sleep during night time due to low voltage.
          When checked with the machine the power in house is between 150v to 180v some time 130v.

          It would be very gratfull if you could please consider my request and do the needful.

            There is voltage issue in the following area:

            Vivekanandar Nagar, Sithalapakkam, Chennai 600 073.

            The voltage as low as possible. Most of the times it is below 100v. This issue is there for the past 3 years and lot of complaints registered against it.

            Now the residents are not able to run motor, fan, house hold electronics etc., The issue is very critical and every year this issue will be there for the entire summer.
            I totally Agree to this, Iam in the same locality for last 23 years, we face this problem for the last 3 years. The voltage is as less as 100v for a whole day. Old age people and childrens suffer a lot. There had been many complaints registered and filed, no action on that. Under the Rajiv Ghandhi scheme launched recently they were suppose to install new transformer, that hasn't happened. Even in rainy seoson the maintanence is at its worst. Shame on those people. Even complaints to the ward member and MLA is also not working. I feel filing a complaint (as complete area) in the consumer court might work.
            Yes, I too agree with above said voltage drop issue. The fluctuation of voltage goes less than 100v during daytime and less than even 90v during night time. because of the voltage heavy drop, my Air conditioner had problems and it was fixed (had warranty) later having sound quarrel with the company. I heard the power supply to the entire sithalapakkam village is transmitted by a single transformer. As you know, Sithalapakkam is not a village nowadays and it has been developed a lot and more people have accommodated and lot of constructions/appartments are being made in Sithalapakkam. Could you please expedite to have additional transformers installed at Sithalapakkam for us to have better power supply. Hope you would take some actions to get the issue resolved.
            I moved into Sithalapakkam a year back. Since day 1, none of my electronics and electrical items work. I needed to invest heavily on stabilizers, despite which all the electrical and electronic items developed problems. I had 2 TVs and both developed problems. Have to spend heavily to protect my appliances. Heavy voltage fluctuation starts at 8:30 pm and runs through the night. Despite stabilizers, sharp spikes in voltage occurs very frequently, which is not filtered by the stabilizers and passes onto the devices, which are the killer for most of my equipments. After some transfer change in the nearby area, the situation has improved slightly from november 2010, however, the fluctuation in the night time is still beyond imagination and not acceptable. God, save my devices and I need to attend long night meetings etc etc.

              Hi,
              I'm a residing at Pandiyan Street, T. Nagar, Chennai. At my house and the surroundings there was a power cut happened at 2:00 Hrs 19th April 2010 and it never resumed till 17:00 Hrs 19th April 2010. I tried calling[protected],[protected] and even tried a message to [protected] but still there is no action on it. People at TNEB please understand this is a hot summer and people cant live without fan. and there are some Old aged people living at my house and in the surrounding they might suffer a lot. Please don't worry even we will become old and we may face all these problems but unable to fight. The thing which i cant understand is, why you people are not picking up the calls? This phone-line is not a private one, and even the bill for the phone-line is paid by us

              TNEB — Power failure without notification

              From past one day the power has been shut down in total area in Sathyam homes,shenoy nagar chennai-30.Its really worse to bear up with this issue.The electricity board have never come up with the solution nor responded.
              At AZAD NAGAR, Rathinammal & Rajagopal Street, distribution under Arubakkam MES office concern A.E. MR. SIVAJI, there is a power cut on[protected] from 10 pm to[protected] pm i enquire with the concern office they said a cable fault. Actually this cable fault will arise 3 rd time within 2 months period of the same area i have spoken to MR. SIVAJI, .A.E but he told the statistics of power failure of the total area that is immaterial to the consumer and he is not respond properly there is no speedy acion to restore the supply, so as my view this type of attitude person should not in the capital of state. After somany times complained to CBD office Mount road and the Chairman complaint cell then only the action has been taken to restore the supply. This type of person will give the bad openion to the public that the ruling govenment is not good. Because of single persons negligence unnecessarily the ruling government will loss the votes in the election.

              sir i was paid the eb bill(cosumer number-[protected]). axis bank gateway via citi creditcard.(Reference number616464).but eb bill was not generated.kindily consider this complained and will process the eb bill

              My consumer no. is:[protected].Meter reading has not been taken for October'14.My on line account says"no due". Normally I use to pay on line.Kindly verify and advise further course of action.Thanx.

                  My mom is staying at NO: 27/6 , bharatheswarar colony 2nd street , kodambakkam , chennai-24. Always there is frequent power cuts in the above mentioned area,

                  For past one week the whole night she was struggling to sleep without power. We called to local EB station , but most of the time the line is engaged or they respond stating they are working on it. You can understand how difficult to be in this hot temperatture without power , this is not one time , this is happening regularly, elder people who are affected by high BP , diabetes , heart patients are the real sufferers due to delay in power restoration.

                  I request you to please help me in stopping the frequent power failure and help the elders to have good sleep and comfort life.

                  I live in 403, 20th street, N Block, Lotus coloy, Anna Nagar East. Every day the power goes at 10 PM and comes back only at 6 AM in the morning. All 3 phases go out of power. We keep calling [protected] (Held desk No). But they are not responsible. This type of power suppl is not accepted.
                  I am living gopalapuram housing colony in tindivanam and paying bill in Mannur electricity board. I am having less than a month old baby at home in this situation daily we are suffering from atleast 6 hours power cut, which is very difficult for me and my baby too. I have tried to contact Electricity Board to log a complaint, but i am not satisfied with the response I got. I am not getting the correct Electricity office phone number to deal the problem. From my house EB office is so far to go in person and give complaint. Please whoever sees this mail, please make necessary action in this regard.

                    in our place, There is no such power cut in city places, I donno why Dont EB dept think those
                    people living out of city as humans? Or They can do in the morning hours from 11a.m to 1p.m

                    our service no[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[prote... we are suffering from low voltage problem in your home for the last five months. we couldn't use the electrical equipments due to the lack of voltage. The students from our area are too affected by this problems.
                    we have filed a complaint on this problem on(18.12.2009), but still we didnt get a proper solution for this problem. our locality TNEB officers EE venkadachalabhathy(phone no. [protected]), ADE marai malai nagar 2 (phone no.[protected] ), JE suresh marai malai nagar 2 (phone no. [protected]), Fore man Ramesh, marai malai nagar 2(phone no.[protected]). They are not responding for your complaint. They not even given us a proper answer for our complaint.
                    So, I kindly request you to solve our problems and take the necessary actions against the Executive Engineer. Please sir, I request you to take this complaint serious and get rid off of this problems.

                    Same here regaridng power shut down for 2 hours. Everyone has children and taking 2 hours of supply is unfair. Why does Chennai residents have interrupted supply while people living out here have to take this situtation? Request TNEB to take some action to STOP this daily powershut down. Its does not help families like us. Thanks.

                      There was power cut in my building on 2.4.2010 night 8 o'clock. I made complaint to Pammal E.B office through phone. They told, during nights we will not do any work. I made a complaint to Mount E.B office also. But no response. Whole night we dont have power.

                      I GOT A PROBLEM IN MY ELECTRICITY CONNECTION.WHEN I COMPLAINED ON SUNDAY EVENING AND THEY SAID ITS SUNDAY AND THERE IS NO ONE TO ATTEND.THEN I FILED COMPLAINT ON MONDAY MORNING.I CALLED 4 TIMES AND NO ONE CAME.THEY WERE SAYING THAT THEY CAME NEAR,THEY ARE IN NEXT STREET AND ALL SORTS OF EXCUSES AND NO BODY CAME TILL MONDAY NIGHT.IM WAITING FOR THEIR ARRIVAL ON TUESDAY ALSO.
                      Very very often almost every day the current is getting cut in Varadammal Garden, Berracha Rd, Kellys, today there is no current from morning 8am till now 6:30pm, we have made more than 10 calls from morning to the EB office no([protected],[protected] the response is either no person in duty or they will come in an hour, very sad to say the EB makes us suffer like this with very lethargic answers... please help us.
                      This is Srinivash.L.Peranayakken Pudur, puliampatty power station, tiruppur dt. for my village there is no power supply in morning 7am to 5 pm and frequent power cuts our night times, our full village is dependent on agricultural and we dont have 3 phase supply in day and night properly, so our cultivated crops are destroyed we don't have any other option otherwise death

                      We are living in Naickkan palyam Village, pollachi(T.K). In this village also called as Karuppam palayam. My home opposite have one street light . In that street light is standing around for 200 homes. It is very old and damaged. It will fall for any second to the ground .If its fall, It will definitely make any damages and most of the peoples are die . The people are compliant to the village president Illavathi Madam. But, she is not take the any action to the street lamp . Please sir, Take the action and save our life

                      EB Office — No Power from Morning in our house

                      Irresponsible staffs in Madipakkam EB office (Near Bus Terminus). Please warn them to serve public in priority or dismiss them.
                      We are the residents of Sankarapuram 2nd Street, Palavakkam, Chennai – 600041, here we are facing low voltage and frequent fluctuation in current for many many months. In spite of giving repeated complaints to the Electricity Board this problem is not rectified. Even the most commonly used electric equipments which are mandatory are not functional, we are running without water for days together as the motor pump is not working due to low voltage. We were earlier informed that the problem is due to our house being towards the end of distribution of power from the transformer which is quite a distance from our area, we were also informed that two new transformers have been allotted for our area whereas now after 5-6 months have passed but no sign of any improvement in fact the situation has worsened. Because of this issue, we do not even get the benefits of electrical equipments such as AC/Fridge/Washing machine on time, especially during these peak summer months. Families with infants and elders who are bed ridden are the most affected. It is our request that this matter be given some importance and looked into.

                        Respected Sir,

                        These days electricity shut down has gone beyond the limit and control. TNEB staffs are playing with the life of the customers and consumers. They are cutting down the electricity as when they required. When this matter has been taken up with the higher authorities, they said that they are not responsible for it. Then who is responsible? In the last ten days, everyday apart from the regular two hours shut down, they are imposing half an hour or one hour extra in day. This shutdown of half an hour or one hour comes even in the mid night also. As you know these days exams are there in all schools. Whenever 155333 is contacted, no reasonable or responsible answers come from them. The reason is they are contract staffs and not from TNEB. They have been told to say one reason whenever there is a power failure. The reason is “MAIN SUPPLY TRIPPED OFF, POWER WILL COME IN HALF AN HOUR”. Nothing else they tell or they know. Funny and shameful on TNEB. Who gave the power to these staffs to disconnect the electricity as their wish?

                        24 March 2010 – 1145 hrs to 1205 hrs
                        23 March 2010 – 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs, 1830 hrs to 1900 hrs, 2145 hrs to 2230 hrs
                        22 March 2010 – 0900 hrs to 1730 hrs, 0005 hrs to 0030 hrs.

                        For God sake, I request the authorities humbly, please allow us to live peacefully in the hot and hot summer by giving continuous electricity.

                          Hellow sir,

                          I am Meenakshi residing at Gummidipoondi near 45 kms from chennai. In our town for the past 4 months EB reading was taken in most of the streets. Even after complaining to EB office, we are getting the same reply 'No manpower for taking the reading'. So, we are paying the previous month bills even we are consuming less. Kindly do the needful.

                          I am thiru residing in alandur, chennai. In our area also EB reading is not taken for past 3 months. Don't know why getting the same reply 'person will come'. But people's talk is that if the reading is delayed then we have to pay money on slab rate basis. So government will get more revenue. Is that true ????
                          EB Department. They are not giving either good support or response to the consumer now a days. In addition, they are not doing their day-to-day work. The same case for the Kilkattalai, Kovilambakkam and Nanmangalam (Near Madipakkam, Chennai) as well. They are expecting public to pay the bill with penalty... Very long queue to feed the data into the system and another queue for payment... people... EB ... government

RECENTLY MY HOUSE READING FOR CURRENT USAGE WAS MIS CALCULATED AND I WAS INFORMED THAT A READING WAS WRONGLY SENT AND REQUESTED THE STAFF IN TNEB PALLAVARAM TO DO THE NEEDFUL 2MONTHS BACK N STILL NO REMEDY FOR THE READING. ITS THEIR FAULT IN NOT TAKING THE READING PROPERLY AND NOW ITS WE SUFFERING..NO ELECTRICITY. EVEN AFTER REGULAR VISITS TO THE TNEB OFFICE PALLAVARAM STILL NO STEP TAKEN.

                              In Mugalivakkam, especially in Sabari Nagar Extn - Phase -2 , the power has been disrupting very frequently. Moreover there has been consistent dip in the voltage and it is not static.This makes the people living in the area to be hectic. 'N' number of complaints has been reported to the TNEB - Mugalivakkam but there was no responsible response from the concern. Reply from the TNEB Concern "Since this is summer time the problem exists, if the rain pours the problem will be sorted authomatically. The people have to wait and has to live with it". We felt the guy is a maniac and stopped complaining to him. Requesting the concern people from TNEB to give some importance in solving the problem.

                                I made a payment of Rs. 4319.62 by using the Verified by Visa credit card facility from my HDFC bank account on 11th October 2009. I got the online receipt also called e_receipt from the TNEB authorities online. But when I check the Bill status it does not reflect in that. The authorities when enquired personally by me, keep saying that the amount can be refunded only if it appears in the bill status enquiry. Attached is the screen print of the receipt.

                                They never answer why they have a half-cooked computerization where the payment is accepted online but their account books never reflect the payment though payment receipt has been sent!!!

                                After first meeting SE of the division in which my connection is, I went and met the Financial Controller (Revenue) at his office opposite to LIC building, Anna Salai, Chennai. After 3 days after meeting him, the amount was refunded to me to my bank account.

                                This problem was resolved after 3 months after visiting the TNEB main office at Chennai Anna Salai and getting hold of the SE concerned.

                                  I am residing in 1-253, New street budamangalam post thiruvarur district and my TNEB SC number is 23 under Riyasudeen.A.S current month suddenly i got 5000 rs for the bill and we complaint to the Junior engineer to visit the home and change the reading meter and so the techinician came told me it is faulty meter and need to replace it but still no action from TNEB and they are asking to pay for the total amount we use to get every month only 200 rs - 300 rs and kindly do the nessary acion regarding this issues

But they are doing the power cuts at night time is not tolerable. Please understand how to sleep working people at night. We can't work as effectively since we not sleeping well.

                                    In Chennai Urban areas 2 hrs power cut and in suburbs it is 4 hours. But in suburban areas, power cuts are for 10hours.

                                    When the tamilnadu govt will take action? The entire public/people in tamilnadu are suffering for power cut.
