This is to inform you that we are residing at new no .15 old no 13 mosque street. aminjikarai chennai - 29.We facing frequent powershut down without any proper notice at night time . when we called through phone number[protected] & 26414398 there is no proper response they turning back to rectify it only next day and there is no contact number of AE available the given contact mobile number of Asst engineer says only CUG person can reachable the number is [protected] . Do take necessary action

im from 11, pullianthope main road, we face power cut every night for hours
we do not get proper responce from the person whom v call too. phone calls are attened and cut continously.
power s been taken from outside mini transformer by others due to frequent power cut, when reported, eb people just get money and ignore our complaints.
because of this we face power cut every day, which totally spoils my studies...

    I am running a dtp shop in keelkattalai. I used iob netbanking facility and pay the eb bills through online. today 6.7.2010 i pay rs.120/- and rs.1590/-. totally Rs.1710/- is debited my account. but the eb receipt is not generated. so i ask iob regarding this matter they told they were not responsible. then i contact eb they also said the same answer.       Sub: - Frequent failure of power supply during night time.

      We have been living in the above apartments for the past 7years and found that the electricity department was responsible enough to solve the issue that our apartment was facing. The Irregular power supply / low voltage & No power from midnight. This is been a regular scenario.

      Though we complained many times the solution has been temporary. Moreover the response to the complaint was very bad. They do not respond to our calls,

      .Almost last 2 months we do not have power supply for one phase permanently. out of 3 phases only 2 phases we have power supply that too very erratic.

      We do not get any proper response from the EB department .We feel the regular problems we face are due to the joint cable. They should replace the cable to the entire stretch instead of putting patches everywhere. We have been troubled enough because of power failure during school exam time but still it has not been sorted out .Its very difficult in this hot summer.

      when many other houses in the same street having power supply un interrupted , our Apartment suffers a lot.

      I’m writing this complaint on behalf of the Association ,as 13 families in the apartment are suffering..

      Dear Sir/Madam,

      Sub: - Frequent failure of power supply / Very low Voltage during day &night time.

      We have been living in Nesapakkam Periyarnagar area and also the area is going on developing.Now a days due Power fluctuations causing the domestic applaince failure and found that the electricity department was responsible enough to solve the issue that our area was facing. The Irregular power supply / low voltage & No power from midnight. This is been a regular scenario.

      Though we complained many times to concerned JE, AE & EE the solution has been temporary and no permanent remadial action has been taken by the TNEB, 128 DIV( K K Nagar). Moreover the response to the complaint was very bad. They do not respond to our calls,

      .Almost last 6 months we do not have proper power supply for all the three phases permanently. out of 3 phases we have power supply that too very erratic.

      We do not get any proper response from the EB department .We feel the regular problems we face are due to OH cable. They should replace the cable to the entire stretch instead of putting patches everywhere. We have been troubled enough because of power failure during school exam time but still it has not been sorted out .Its very difficult in this hot summer. The installed transformer for our area being over load beyond its capacity almost 140%.

      when many other houses in the same street having power supply un interrupted, our area suffers a lot.

      My house current month meter reading shows a higher range which is very unusual. My house is in MMDA Colony, Arumbakkam chennai 600 106

      ELECTRICITY FLUCTUATION

      The electricity power supply is terrible. The fluctuation is unbearable. Machines like computers, printers, Air conditioners are getting spoiled due to this problem.

      Street light not glowing

      The street light in Veerapandi Nagar 3rd street (west), opposite to door # 20/7, is not glowing for the past 3 days.

          Hi.,
          Can anybody tell as to why does the TNEB take a advance of one month bill avery three years and what happens to this amount.Bcos neither the serivice or the personnel are doing any good.The best option is to privitize the TNEB with immedeate effect,the personnel in there think they are above law.About 50% of them come drunk to the office on daily basis.People are really fed up with this organization.
          Hello Sir, My Service ID have not been Marked on my reading Card. How can i register for online payment without my service ID? They did not mark the readind values on the card properly every month.My native is Jayankondam.What a poor service you provide.

            Respected sir,

            We are people residing in Iyyappanthangal, Dhanalakshmi Nagar, We are extremely fed up with the frequent power failure & the very low voltage power supply in our area due to which most essential household appliances are not working …..

            We have complained several times even directly to the A.E, but there is no response. I heard from the TNEB officials a transformer was sanctioned in our area ….., but still there is no sign of it…….when will we get a normal current supply?????????

              There is always I mean frequent power cuts in ICF Employees colony, Bazaar Road.
              One half of the road there is always power cut and the other half always power failure. Daily there is a power cut and even midnight there is always repair in the transformer. This hot season do not these EB people have mercy on others who are being suffered. Not taking any step to change the transformer. From the No:10 house to the road end near EB payment office and afterward there is always power failure. Please take necessary action to change the transformer. The phone of the EB ayapakkam office is always kept down so as not to attend the phone calls. Government should take necessary step for the welfare of the people since the government is formed for the people, by the people and to the people. Why should they ask people to pay taxes when they are taken care of properly. It should be two way not one way. Just receive the tax and we do not receive any benefits which we are supposed to get. Kindly please take necessary action regarding this problem.

                Dear All,

                I am writing this mail in behalf of Vaigai Nagar Housing Society & residential people who living in ward No 5, Sholavandan, Madurai Dist.

                From the 1st June 2010 onwards we are facing heavy power cut in our ward (only in our ward no 5), we had a power cut of more than 8 hours i.e. from 09.00 am to 05.30 pm and in night also the power gone 2 ~ 3 time more than 30 mins every time.

                On 2nd June we faced power cut more the 12 hours in our ward (only in our ward no 5), morning power gone from 05.30 am to 06.30 am, after that power gone from 10.00 am to 05.30 pm, approx every one hour the power gone for 30 mins for the whole night around 7 times for 30 mins in night.

                Today i.e. 3rd June again the same problem, power gone for 1 hour in the morning & now it’s gone from 10.00 am, when the power will restore only gods know !!!

                This thing is happening quite frequently in our ward, Sholavandan have 18 Wards & it’s come under urban fedder & our ward no 5 has been consider as rural fedder by the TNEB. I really don’t understand why & how the one ward has been consider as rural fedder out of 18 !!! We communicate the same to the EB Office Sholavandan many times in verbally also by written.

                In the same area ( Sholavandan ) 17 wards having the power cut of 2 ~ 3 hours in a day, but why only ward no 5 have power cut more than fixed power cut duration. No one is ready to give the proper response to our ward people by the TNEB Staffs.

                Yesterday I call the Local EB office to know the reason for the power cut & when its restore, I tried more the 1 hour the ring was going on but no one is picking up the phone. Finally after one hour one person pick the phone & he simply answer we don’t have any knowledge about you query. He gave another number to call. And I call that number too. He simply replied it will come & cut the phone before I respond. I again call the number, ring was going on no response for some time. Later they pick the phone & said after getting the order then only we give supply to your area & he cut the phone again. Wow what a great response from our people really it should be appreciate !!! Again I call him & ask who is the authorised person to give order to give supply. He gives another number to call, its number of EB Station, Alagar Kovil, Madurai.

                I call that number, he simply answered we don’t know anything when the power restore & cut the phone. I called him again & asked why you cut the phone, no answer from him & cut the phone. I called him again 2 times, after hearing my voice he cut the phone.

                Finally I called Mr Er.P.K.Alagarsamy,B.E. - Superintending Engineer - Madruai EDC / Madurai, but he is gone for lunch someone pick the phone and give some another number & I asked who’s number is this, he told that the number is some other officer who is next to Mr Alagarsamy. I called that person, he explain some many things & finally he told that its order from Chennai Head Quater. We can’t do anything in this.

                Really I am quite surprise & shocked about our TNEB staff behaviour & response, I couldn’t understand any one senior official like Chairman or some others officer giving order to power cut my ward, especially ward no 5 ???

                The public announcement by Tamil Nadu CM was saying only 2 hours power cut will be done/day & no power cut in night. Instead of 2 hours it can be 3 hours due to unavoidable circumstance but it should not be 10 or 12 hours. If 17 wards can get the power for 20 ~ 21 hours in a day, why can’t we get the power ? Then there is a big mistake / careless in electricity distribution plan by the TNEB.

                I request you all too please forward or Intimate the concern person to talk the corrective action to restore the power issue & consider our ward no 5 in Urban Fedder.

                I really don’t know whether I get any reply or not, still I am writing this mail any one person will reply & give me a genuine feed back out of 5 persons.

                    We live in a township called Jains Avenue located at Chitlapakkam, Chennai - 64 and Electricity has been a problem for us always. Every Summer we face serious power cuts at late nights and almost every year there would be a problem with the transformer and we will have to collect money from all the residents living in the township and have to pay the People from EB and there would be some problem or the other atleast once in a week. We are sure they are doing it deliberately for money. This has been a continuous story for so many years. We are really frustrated and angry with the Electricity board. Hope this will be taken care of.

                    Regular long power cut for last 2 months

                    I am Vijay residing at 16/12, 6th street, Dr.Subbarayan Nagar, Kodambakkam, Chennai – 600024. We are facing the power cut problem daily between 10.30pm to 2am midnight for the last 2 months. The kids and old aged people not able to sleep and they have seek because of power cut. Pls help us and take this complaint to the local TNEB officers.
                    posting here and all is a waste of time man..do u think tht they gonna take action..these will do nothing..for the past four years, there is a current cut problem..but no politician came front to take action.all are stupid irresposible fellows..did there any government require more than 5yrs to solve current problem, but india will do..i hate to be indian citizen..i am getting height of tension towards this government...if i know how to made guns and bomb means, i will kill each and every politician in india...even in 2300 india wont converted into developed country..even at 2500 it will be just developing country...i hate india.and bleddy indian governent..uneducated politicians...

                      I am residing at 142/2, D Block, Sri Perumal Nagar extension, Nanmangalam, Chennai -600117. We are
                      facing a PROBLEM in our area THAT IS THE ELECTRICITY SHORTAGE in Nanmangalam Which coming under the keelkatallai TNEB office.
                      We are struggling a lot and not able to operate any of the electricity appliances due to the low voltage.

                      It's been pathetic, especially during evenings. Tubelights with normal choke won't turn on [if you got electronic ones, you're safe], fans just rotate but of no use, AC / Fridge switch on and off every 2 mins... Even my TV, turn off and on when the voltage fluctuates to extreme levels, thanks to the cut-off voltage in my Syscom stabilizer.

                      I'm residing in Nehru Nagar, Nanmangalam for 7 years now and this year is THE worst in terms of electricity.

                      We were told, about an year ago, that an upgraded transformer will be installed to meet the power requirements of the area, but I don't think that was ever done. There was indeed some new poles erected, not sure for what reason but they did nothing good for the situation.

                      Appreciate if any actions taken.

                        Dear Sir,

                        Iam residing at Plot No-2, SRI Permual Nagar, Nanmangalam, Chennai-117. We are facing severe voltage flucutations in our area from 8:00 P.M till early morning. I have already given a complaint to TNEB, Keelakattali regarding this and I was told that a transformer will be erected in that area soon but still the problem is not resolved.

                        Also I have applied for Line conversion from Single Phase to 3 phase way back in Feb-10 and my name was displayed at no-4 in seniority list in TNEB office but no action has been taken so far on this issue as line conversion work itself is not taken by TNEB office due to lack of Manpower as per the sources.

                        I request you to take this issue with TNEB office and address this ASAP as we are spending sleepless nights.

                        RESPECTED SIR, AS I AM RESIDING IN PLOT NO 1 SANKARAPURAM 2ND STREET PALAVAKKAM, CHENNAI-600041, AS THE POWER WAS NOT THERE FROM SATURDAY (16/04/2011) I REGESTER MY COMPLAIN WENT TO THE EB OFFICE IT WAS SHOCKING THE DAY SHIFT LINE MEN WAS CONSUMING ALCHOL INSIDE THE OFFICE AND THE PLACE SEEMS TO BE NOT ORGANIZED AFTER 2 DAYS (AFTER CALLING SEVERAL TIMES TO THIRUVANMAYUR A E )THEY CAME ON SUNDAY 17/04/2011FOUND ITS A CABLE FAULT AND INFORMED ME DUE TO SUNDAY THE LINE MEN IS ON LEAVE, IF YOU BUY THE ELECTRIC WIRE WE CAN GIVE A DIRECT TEMPROARY CONNECTION FROM THE MAIN BOX I BROUGHT THE ELECTRIC WIRS COSTING RS1400 AND THEY TOLD VERY NEXT DAY THEY WILL CONNECT THE CABLE, AND LEFT,
                        BUT UNFORTUNATLEY TILL TODAY THEY DIDNT DO THE WORK, THE SAD PART IS EB STAFF CAME YESTERDAY 28/04/2011 DIG THE ROAD TO FIND THE CABLE FAULT FOR 1 HOUR AND THEY INFORMED US THAT THE PERSON WHO SUPPOSE TO DIG IS OFF, WE ARE FOR ONLY TO CORRECT THE FAULT IF YOUR HIRE A PERSON TO DIG SO IT WILL BE HELPFULL TO US, IN MY PAST 35 YEARS I NEVER CAME ACCROSS SUCH EXPERRIENCE, I PLEASE THE "TNEB' MANAGEMENT TO TAKE SEVERE STEPS AGAINST THIS TYPE OF STAFF'S - I AM HAVING 2 KIDS IN MY HOME WHO DIDNT SLEEP FOR 2 DAYS, WITHOUT ELECTRICITY, PLEASE CONSIDER THE FEELINGS OF YOUR CUSTOMERS,

                          I am a student of engineering college and have been facing many problems due to irregular and uncertain power cuts . On May 12th the electricity went off at 1.00am for 2 hours which affected my final exam paper' preparation badly and was on brim of failing the exam. Moreover after battling hard in the exam when I came back home I expected to sleep for an hour from 2.00 pm the electricity suddenly went off while its power cut time is from 3.00 pm. It was expected to be a three hour cut but ended up in becoming a 4.30 hours of massive and irritative power in this hot and melting summer.
                          There is no power cut besides the areas of Tambaram and Chennai city Then why are sub urban areas of chennai shedding all the power cut loads. I sincerely hope to take sum steps regarding this parciality of power cuts.

                          For the past 6 months I am facing problem with my EB line and I haven't found any responds from the kolathur EB office, the problem I am facing are listed
                          1.In my street approximately 40 houses is there out of this only my house is connected in one phase
                          2. Repeatedly power cut only my line.
                          3. No proper response in the EB office.
                          4. No one ready to attend the call after 11.00 pm in EB office Ph:[protected]
                          5. I was given three times written complaint to the AE but he was not taken proper action as yet.


                          Dear sir, as my line is single phase line I want the proper voltage, till today there is no late fee are any of the bad remarks, if they are not ready to solve the problem. Yesterday there was no power from 7.00 pm onwards till 8.00 pm my mom & dad are aged people they are above 72 (senior citizens) because of this power cut they were unable to take rest the whole night I many time informed to them.I given a written compliant to A.E more than 3 times past months but no solution many time I tried the EB line[protected] but no response.I felt suffered kindly consider this in top priority and I need a solution for the same.

                          Sir, as per our chief Minister - she says no power cut from june 1 st-but in our area madampakkam area purposefully cutting our line every day night 3 hours- after 7 or 10 calls only they will on the system

                            Sub:-Rectification of Low Voltage Electric Supply/ Req. Erection of New Transformer.

                            Iam T.K.Thampan (Flying Officer in Air Force) residing at 1/257, plot no.4, ezhumalai salai, 3rd street, Kovilambakkam, Nanmangalam, chennai-117, We suffering Low voltage problem for past 10years. I gave a complaint in TNEB Consumer Complaint and my Complaint code is TNEB_7175.And when i viewed the status of my complaint recently, it shows that the complaint is completed.But our low voltage problem is still sustaining. We request a erection of new transformer in our area.
                            Your august office is requested to pass suitable instruction to the EB Keelkatalai for installation of a transformer in Ezhumalai Salai so as to retrieve the low voltage problem faced by the residents.The Association has been representing the case for the past five years and EB has assured to install a transformer.However, the residents are facing acute irregular flow of supply during day and night, resulting sleepless nights and causing health hazards.

                            These voltage fluctuations are severe at night time (starting from 8PM till early morning). We could not use Air conditioner, PC or any kind of appliance.

                            regarding electricity cut daily about more than 3 - 4 hrs per day. and the TNEB persons in velachery not responding to the phone calls.

                            Power goes off at night

                            Power going off at night time by 10 pm on a daily basis, from there it starts irritating by getting on and off till 1 am in 6th lane shashtri nagar. This is a real torcher. Not sure whom to complain. As we have office in the morning, not able to have enough sleep. This is taking a toll on our health. We beg you people please fix this.

                              Sir/Madam, i'm staying in nadukuppam village, cuddalore district, panrutti taluk, marungur JE OFFICE CONTROL here the power i'm getting very low voltage of current like 160V due to this problem i can't able to use cashew dryer, processing, Refrigerator, Computer. The whole area has the same problem. So plz kindly take a necessary step for this problem.

                              I reside at the below address for around 25 years. We are facing severe low voltage issues, where in the home appliances never work. We work really hard to buy these home appliances, its very heart breaking to see them lying useless at home. Fridge does not work for more than 2 hrs daily, A/C never worked for more than 3 months now, it gets cooled sometimes for first 5 mins during day time or after 3 AM till 4AM in the morning. Even fans wont run fast, and HOME has become a HELL. :(
                              We work in office for 12 hrs and dont get a sleep during night time due to low voltage.
                              When checked with the machine the power in house is between 150v to 180v some time 130v.

                              It would be very gratfull if you could please consider my request and do the needful.

                                There is voltage issue in the following area:

                                Vivekanandar Nagar, Sithalapakkam, Chennai 600 073.

                                The voltage as low as possible. Most of the times it is below 100v. This issue is there for the past 3 years and lot of complaints registered against it.

                                Now the residents are not able to run motor, fan, house hold electronics etc., The issue is very critical and every year this issue will be there for the entire summer.
                                I totally Agree to this, Iam in the same locality for last 23 years, we face this problem for the last 3 years. The voltage is as less as 100v for a whole day. Old age people and childrens suffer a lot. There had been many complaints registered and filed, no action on that. Under the Rajiv Ghandhi scheme launched recently they were suppose to install new transformer, that hasn't happened. Even in rainy seoson the maintanence is at its worst. Shame on those people. Even complaints to the ward member and MLA is also not working. I feel filing a complaint (as complete area) in the consumer court might work.
                                Yes, I too agree with above said voltage drop issue. The fluctuation of voltage goes less than 100v during daytime and less than even 90v during night time. because of the voltage heavy drop, my Air conditioner had problems and it was fixed (had warranty) later having sound quarrel with the company. I heard the power supply to the entire sithalapakkam village is transmitted by a single transformer. As you know, Sithalapakkam is not a village nowadays and it has been developed a lot and more people have accommodated and lot of constructions/appartments are being made in Sithalapakkam. Could you please expedite to have additional transformers installed at Sithalapakkam for us to have better power supply. Hope you would take some actions to get the issue resolved.
                                I moved into Sithalapakkam a year back. Since day 1, none of my electronics and electrical items work. I needed to invest heavily on stabilizers, despite which all the electrical and electronic items developed problems. I had 2 TVs and both developed problems. Have to spend heavily to protect my appliances. Heavy voltage fluctuation starts at 8:30 pm and runs through the night. Despite stabilizers, sharp spikes in voltage occurs very frequently, which is not filtered by the stabilizers and passes onto the devices, which are the killer for most of my equipments. After some transfer change in the nearby area, the situation has improved slightly from november 2010, however, the fluctuation in the night time is still beyond imagination and not acceptable. God, save my devices and I need to attend long night meetings etc etc.

                                  I'm a residing at Pandiyan Street, T. Nagar, Chennai. At my house and the surroundings there was a power cut happened at 2:00 Hrs 19th April 2010 and it never resumed till 17:00 Hrs 19th April 2010. People at TNEB please understand this is a hot summer and people cant live without fan. and there are some Old aged people living at my house and in the surrounding they might suffer a lot. Please don't worry even we will become old and we may face all these problems but unable to fight. The thing which i cant understand is, why you people are not picking up the calls? This phone-line is not a private one, and even the bill for the phone-line is paid by us

                                  TNEB — Power failure without notification

                                  From past one day the power has been shut down in total area in Sathyam homes,shenoy nagar chennai-30.Its really worse to bear up with this issue.The electricity board have never come up with the solution nor responded.
                                  At AZAD NAGAR, Rathinammal & Rajagopal Street, distribution under Arubakkam MES office concern A.E. MR. SIVAJI, there is a power cut on[protected] from 10 pm to[protected] pm i enquire with the concern office they said a cable fault. Actually this cable fault will arise 3 rd time within 2 months period of the same area i have spoken to MR. SIVAJI, .A.E but he told the statistics of power failure of the total area that is immaterial to the consumer and he is not respond properly there is no speedy acion to restore the supply, so as my view this type of attitude person should not in the capital of state. After somany times complained to CBD office Mount road and the Chairman complaint cell then only the action has been taken to restore the supply. This type of person will give the bad openion to the public that the ruling govenment is not good. Because of single persons negligence unnecessarily the ruling government will loss the votes in the election.

                                      My mom is staying at NO: 27/6 , bharatheswarar colony 2nd street , kodambakkam , chennai-24. Always there is frequent power cuts in the above mentioned area,

                                      For past one week the whole night she was struggling to sleep without power. We called to local EB station , but most of the time the line is engaged or they respond stating they are working on it. You can understand how difficult to be in this hot temperatture without power , this is not one time , this is happening regularly, elder people who are affected by high BP , diabetes , heart patients are the real sufferers due to delay in power restoration.

                                      I request you to please help me in stopping the frequent power failure and help the elders to have good sleep and comfort life.

                                      I live in 403, 20th street, N Block, Lotus coloy, Anna Nagar East. Every day the power goes at 10 PM and comes back only at 6 AM in the morning. All 3 phases go out of power. We keep calling [protected] (Held desk No). But they are not responsible. This type of power suppl is not accepted.
                                      I am living gopalapuram housing colony in tindivanam and paying bill in Mannur electricity board. I am having less than a month old baby at home in this situation daily we are suffering from atleast 6 hours power cut, which is very difficult for me and my baby too. I have tried to contact Electricity Board to log a complaint, but i am not satisfied with the response I got. I am not getting the correct Electricity office phone number to deal the problem. From my house EB office is so far to go in person and give complaint. Please whoever sees this mail, please make necessary action in this regard.
