I had activated DND on my Aircel number +[protected] Mumbai circle, in 2011 as I had met an accident due to continuous 7 calls & thought it could be urgent from home, I picked up 7th call after ignoring 6 consecutive calls in 20 mins drive on a highway. But from November 2013, I have been getting several Promotional Calls from Aircel every single day until first week of March 2014 & this whole week I am receiving so many Promotional SMS’s every day, at least 6-8 SMS’s/day. I have sent a complaint to Aircel on 20th of March 2014 & there was no reply from Aircel. I posted the complaint on other consumer online complaint forum but no response. I also had called up Aircel 198 to make a complaint, 1st thing, they do not have any option for DND complaints on AVR, when I spoke with an Aircel Executive, he said, sir, I will activate DND on your number now, I said, I had sent a message on 16th March’2014 to 1909 - START 0 & I got the reply, that, DND is already active on your number. So I asked him, then, why am I receiving Promotional calls from Aircel if my DND is active? He had no answer but just kept saying, your DND will be active within 7 days.
I believe, as per TRAI, any Telemarketing company including service providers hold no rights to send promotional calls/SMS to the numbers with DND Active. So, what should I do? Such things has to be taken very gravely as this is utterly against TRAI rules & Regulations build for Telecommunications Companies to give better service to the Customers.
I hope, at least this forum will help me get rid of these issues, or perhaps, I will have to port my number to some other better subscribers.
