Maruti Suzuki Swift VXi: Defective clutch on my new swift

Sir,

I Navjeet Singh Pandher S/o Gurmel Singh Pandher R/o House No.2029, Sector 21C, Chandigarh had purchased a new Maruti Swift Petrol(VXi) through Berkeley Automobiles Ltd on 30th Dec 2009, and as of today it just has covered 9000 kms, driven by me and my father. Yesterday evening, 18th August 2009, the clutch started to miss when I was driving in the city with my mother and then after one traffic light point, the vehicl stopped moving. I was able to move the gears, and I was able to press the clutch, but there was no power going to the wheels and there was a burning smell coming from the engine area. Since there was no reponse, I had to get the vehicle towed to my house as it was around 8 pm, and then in ther morning I called the Berkeley Automobiles service station and I told them about the problem, and they billed me Rs300 for the car to be towed to their service center, and tyhere they checked and informed me that the clutch plates, pressure plates, need to be replaced and I would need to bear the cost of approx. Rs.5000/-
Now, Sir, I ask you one question, me and my father have been driving a Maruti Zen for 8 years, and then in 2004 we bought an Alto VXi 1.1 litre and I still have it, now it is almost 5 years, I have NEVER got the clutch plates replaced after 9000 kms on any of these cars, why do I need to replace it in the Swift? It is still a maruti product and they have been running fine for me all these years and have been an extremely satisfied customer all along, so why am I being asked for Rs.5000/-: My driving habits have not changed, and I am STILL driving the Alto vxi which I bought 5 years back and it does not have any problem.

Sir, there appears to be a defect in the clutch plates, and after some extensive searching on the internet, it has now been ascertained that many other Indians are also facing the same problems with their SWIFT cars, hence, Sir, I would request you to KINDLY undertake the necessary repairs changed without any charge to me, so that I can get my car back on the road ASAP. Thank you.

swift vxi — defect in engine

Dear Sir,

Sub: Complaint in Engine (Half Engine Change Required)

Ref.: Maruti Swift VXi Car No RJ-14-CA-6530, Engine No 232541 Chasis No 123540.


With reference to above subject the details of my car are as under:

This in to inform you that I purchased the car from your dealer at Jaipur M/s K P Automotive P Ltd.C-17, SJS Highway, Jaipur on 30.09.2005.I did all the free as well as paid services on due date. Total kilometer run as on date is 40132 only in four years. I also availed the option for extended warranty for three years and paid the extra charges for that purpose. I am also regular in insurance only with those insurance company maruti have tie-up.

If you go through the history sheet of my car (attached) you will find Visit-6 dated 02.04.2008 (paid service) . During that visit I complaint about noise in engine and less pickup. They kept the car up to 12.04.2008 (i e for 10 days).During this visit extended warranty period was running.They did some work in engine and gave back my car. During this visit they did not told me about change of half engine.

The problem is that when I went for paid services on 21.09.2009 and complaint about the same noise in engine to your authorized service centre at M/s K P Automotive P Ltd, Jaipur, they again kept the vehicle upto 23.09.2009 and told me that there is a problem in engine and half engine change is required and it will cost to me approx 65000/-.I complaint about this matter to workshop manager and also to General Manager Mr Ghiya , but they told me that they can’t do anything and I have to bear the cost of engine.

It shows that there was clear cut wrong intension of that authorized service centre at M/s K P Automotive P Ltd, Jaipur, and they were just waiting for the extended warranty period to expire.

I would also like to bring in your notice that my car never met any major accident which will effect engine. There for it is very much clear that engine was defective initially.

My question is that whether the life of engine of such a popular car and winner of award car of the year 2006 is only that much. Why should I suffer the cost of engine when there was wrong intention of Maruti authorized Service Station. Whether this is the regular practice of Maruti /or Its dealers to cheat the consumer is such a wrong way.



It is my kind first and last request you to take care of this matter .All these matter gave me huge mental tension. I am not ready to bear cost of engine at any way. If I do not receive any positive reply from your side within 15 days form the date of this letter ,then I will file case against Maruti as well as K P Automotive P Ltd, with respective court .I will publish this matter in national newspaper.

swift — Extra charges

sir,
i have just send my vehicle maruthi swift to your service center for general service at (Popular vehicle And services Ltd. New no.14, Arunachalam road, saligramam,Chennai-93.)has charged Rs.900/- for car wash. which is totaly unexpectable. Though the call center call me after 2 to 3 days of service took the feedback. I complained about the charges they told me, they will call back ... but yet they have not turned up....

swift vxi — defective clutch plate

Dear Mr Ashutosh,

It was a pleasure talking to you, I had sent you photograph of clutch plate thru my blackberry, hope you have got it.

Sir, I had purchased the subjected vehicle about 18 months back, for my wife who is Assoc. Prof at M.L.Sukhadia University
She has been driving car for last 15 years, she uses vehicle. This vehicle has run only for 5850 Km up till date, at such low running if clutch plate is worn out it is definitely a matter of inferior/defective part.

Your service engineer did argued that probably my wife is keeping her foot on clutch on while driving, first of all I would not agree with it, supposing same is to be believed , even in that case at such low running, if any part is getting worn out or/out of order, to the best of my wisdom it is cause of concern for Maruti ,hope you will also appreciate it.

Sir, driving is a subjective art and vary from person to person, therefore if reliable company like Maruti claims and wants to brush of its responsibility by assigning any silly reason, then as a customer I have nothing to say.

To conclude, I am not hungry for any compensation and I have already paid Rs 2698/,but as conscious customer I feel it is my duty to bring such fact to your notice. Actual problem lies with a person/company who has been supplying you clutch assembly, therefore suggest pl recheck the quality of that party, but it pains me to experience such things with your vehicle. I also own Honda city ZX I have always admired that vehicle, I wish your vehicle also fall in same category.
As a part of my anxiety I would expect your response on this issue.

maruti Suzuki Swift-VXI — Excess charges

Two months back I have bought a Swift VXI fro Jain Udyog Ltd, Silchar. But Sales Manager Mr Sushil Kumar Taparia charged me extra amount of Rs 4000/ in the name of registration. The actual registration chages was Rs 17000/ only as per rules and condition of Assam Govt. However, he took extra amount from me. Is it a tradition in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd or else a bribe kind of a thing? I don't understand what was it but I want to know that Mr Sushil Kumar Taparia is making huge ransom from customer. Please do take action immediately.

    I have purchased my maruti ritz vxi on 21st Jul 2009 from jay bee tinsukia, assam
    I have found the agency very helpful and co operating
    the following problems i face during my drive
    1. from the right pillar side, there are some sounds while driving which are very much annoying
    2. the driver side wiper is not all smooth. it makes jerks after the first two or three movements
    3. the fog lamp switch seems to stuck once in a while
    4. no original mud flap for a a car costing around five lac (on road with accessories)
    5. break not enough for a big car like this
    6. doubt the actual mileage. does the company lied to the customers about the mileage part??????

    Dear I have a different problem, pls. check in your car

    While driving on the highway at a speed of 75-85 Kmph / 2100 rpm, I noticed continuous jerks and vibrations which shakes the whole body and causes a lot of discomfort and headache while driving. These vibrations stop when the care touches the speed of 90Kmph or above

    Sounds from the right pillar side are a genuine complaint - I get it. Iam in Bangalore and bought a Ritz Vxi

    "doubt the actual mileage. does the company lied to the customers about the mileage part??????" - Very true. The milage is very poor. Frnkly comes to around 10-12 KM/litre in city driving conditions like Bangalore, where there is lot of swtiching between 2/3 gears. It might give 15 km/litre on Highway, but thats as most of our lives we use car for transit within City. So the claim of 15 km/litre on petrol within city is all bunkum. Another problem is the engine is actually not that calm, as it is claimed. IT IS a noisy engine compared to the earlier one's installed in Swift. The conclusion is that "never buy a car within a year of its launch. Wait for one year. Review feedback and then buy. I was a Ritz pioneer and must admit that I have been taken for one good ride !!!
    All maruti cars are with cheap interior, no modern looks and high on price.They will snatch more money
    [protected] at the time of sale itself compare to other companies.They are just encashing their all india dealer network and selling all junk to indians on a high price.Ritz is no where near to its competitiors Figo, Beat, i 10 etc. . Just compare models and you will find that they are charging for base model equal to high ends of other companies. They are enjoying the fruits of the follower kind of mentality of indian society.

      WE PURCHASED A SWIFT CAR FROM SAI SERVICE IN JUNE 2009..THERE WAS A SCREECHING SOUND FROM THE BRAKE FROM FIRST DAY ITSELF.

      THE ENGINEERS FROM MARUTI AND SAI SERVICE HAVE UNSUCESSFULLY TRIED TO REPAIR
      AND REPLACE THE PART THREE TIMES...

      THE BRAND NEW CAR IS NOT USABLE AND MARUTI SUZUKI LTD DOES NOT RESPOND AT ALL TO OUR REQUESTS SINCE PAST ONE MONTH...

        we booked dzire vdi silver on[protected] . Dealer Mitra Agencies Place Vijayawada State Andhra Pradesh. people those who booked the vehicle subsequent to me got the vehicle recently . But they are evading me to give the vehicle. we can guess the reasons why they are practicing such type of things . I approached mitra agencies manager he told they cancelled my booking without intimating me about it. he asking me to give fresh booking form and he try to get it but no commitment. I refused to give the fresh booking form because no value for 10 months old booking how can we believe them, since October 2008 we are getting phone calls from central office Delhi Maruti Suzuki marketing people .they are pursuing the position of the booking till now. It is the evidence for my booking. We have to wait and see what action can be taken by Maruti Suzuki people regarding this.

        As on date, there is no movement of delivering the vehicle.

        Kindly let me know the exact date of delivery of the vehicle.

        Hi,

        I too booked the Maruti Dzire ZDI. i paid amount rs 10, 000/- as cheque in Guindy branch, they not telling the delivery information or seniority number for that car.

        I booked march 5 2010 till date no reply, I made cancellation request at Guidy branch. They are utillizing your money as financial tool (They wont return any interest earned 3.25%). If you wanna to cancel the order, they never give interest amount. ABT maruti Guindy and cuddalore branch is cheating company.

        Go to some politician help or lodge cunsumer complaints.

          This is regarding my car Maruti Suzuki zen estilo Regn No.AP 31 AU, 7385.On 15/08/09 when i unlock my car and open the door i found the my car was filled up with smoke with burning smell inside the car i immediately open the bonnet i found near battery the wire were burning i immediately disconnected the all connection from the battery, it was late night so i couldn’t take the car to the service center that so next day i called Avnash Automobile service center Vishakapatman and complaint about this . They send the mechanic to my place who informed us they have to take this car to service center for wiring they said that due this shot circuit even the wire from engine was burned so they replace that also and we have to pay for it.
          I fail to understand how it happened as my car came back from service center few week ago i was facing problem with my central locking and i reported this to them but they over looked it which resulted in this accident.
          My request to them is please look into this matter seriously and takes action according so that i should not face any such problem in future. And company should pay all the cost to repair this as it not my fault. Because this central locking was take for the same show room i bought this car which is still under warranty .

          I don’t want this incident to happened again as this could have resulted in major tragedy

            I own a Maruti Suzuki SX4 now under the registration KL-30-5900 purchased from AVG Motors Tiruvalla. This car was bought in year 2007. It has run a distance of only 5400 Kms. I am an NRI and have a prior experience of driving models like BMW X5 and Prado...And not only that I have a driving experience of 22 years. On 15th of August near Kochi my car brokedown and is under repair. The respective mechanic has reported clutch failure. This kind of failure is not supposed to happen. I am very disappointed with its performance and now I am in a great difficulty due to lack of transportation. Its a very shameful part from such a reputed vehicle company. I need a response about this as quick a s possible with apt answer.

              hello friends,
              i want to speak out about the response i have received about from the truevalue devision of vitesse worli
              i face a following problems in my car...( maruti suzuki swift zxi)
              1) all the 5 tyres i the in the car were said to be tubeless in which 1 tyre was with a big hole puncture
              and the other tubeless tyre contained a tube in it.
              2) there is aleakage in the front windshiled
              3) the mudflap bracket for the rear tyre is also missing
              when i complained for the above problems. they always regret for the problems caused to me but they dont rectify the problem i am helpless form responce of the the VITESSEE WORLI.
              please reply if any one can help me on the same

              i have a swift car 2004 model. after six months of purchasing i start suffring from rusting problem in my car, i contact your lucknow dealer(anand motors) so many times regarding my prolem but i could not found any solutoin from them. please send me solution. i have doubt about the quality of metal used.

              suzuki swift — worst servicing

              I serviced my car in (SOLAMALAI SERVICE CENTER-THENI).my car no isTN-60-E-2674.After two days my head lights were not working properly,i went to service station and complained about this. they said that there is some wiring problem it need Rs.1300 for repair.And my right head light bulb also fused which is changed into new two days back.this is the worst service center i have never seen.how can i claim???

                I was in the process of buying a Maruti -Star from GEM Motors, Hyderabad, a delaer of MarutiSuzuki vehicles. I was promised to be delivered a July-09 or June-09 vehicle. However during delivery, i was doing the pre-delivery inspection and found that the vehicle was of Feb-09 made. I had paid them initial booking amount as well made a DD in favor of them (thank God i didnt pay them ) . The delaer's response was so so cunning it was a great dampner for us. We as a family were very much excited about our new Car and all ready for the delivery with Puja materials etc all done. I was so surprised to see during time of delivery the condition of the vehicle which i am sure has been lying in the godown for 3-4 months and under the Sun as the vehicle fibre parts had a dust amrks. Such was the casual attitude of the dealer that they did not even bother to clean the vehicle. This is hight of negligience as well care less attitude.They said to em that, they thought the vehicle is May manufactured ...thought, that is sheer cheating. They probably had internally thopught to push the vehivcle thinking w ewill not check the manufacturing date etc...Gem Motors has one of the worst set of staff who are talking to themselves in the vernacular language( Telugu) that we should have told them that this is a June vehicle..thinking we dont understand Telugu ( thank God one of my friend understood waht they were talking ).

                I strongly urge every customer to be fully aware of all the vehicle details including the manufacturing, date, research to read about manufacturing date and chasis number. Make it clear to them what you want before you take the delivery.

                Anyway i am planning to cancel my booking and will file a consumer case as well on GEM Motors for misleading me and wasting my time.

I am informed that the the concerned person has done fraudulent dealing & absconding.
                  Seek justice & refund of my money.

                  With regards; I have allreadey lodged a complaint against M/S. T.R.SAWHNEY MOTORS PVT. LTD. On dated 18/08/2009 and complaint no is [protected] and this is my second
                  Very serious and negeligency of T.R.SWAHNEY S complaint. Thay delivered me above
                  Said car which mentioned in that complaint . Thay delivered me that car on 12/08/2009.
                  Without any doucuments (R/C, INSURANCE COPY, ROAD TAX RECIEPT, SERVICE BOOK ETC.) When I recived above said documents the insurance cover note date mentiond is 14/08/2009.What is the reason the car delivered me on 12/08/2009 but cover note is 14/08/2009. .How is it possible when the car was delivered on 12/08/2009, how can the insurance be for 14/08/2009.

                  Their were also two defaults in the paper : Our occupation was mentioned wrongly
                  I mentioned as a NGO but I am a bussinesmen.and theres is no mentioned the cars R/C
                  NO. On the cover note.In future any misshappening then who will be a responsible for
                  This negeligence( i. T.R.Shawney. ii. Maruti Udyog iii.TheNew India Insurance Co ).

                  This is very serious matter with my car and my life.plz. clerifi me all the problems
                  Immediately.

                  I talk to mr. manoj nigam (manegar ) of T.R SAWHNEY S and he is not responding
                  Me for above said matter and he is not picking my phones and there is not any responsible
                  And livable parson in T.R SAWHNEY who sort out this serous matter .


                  Please take some action and provide us with a positive reply. i am helpless and i think that my money is wasted, which i have earned with so much difficulty.Please provide me with some resolution otherwise i will have to knock the door of the consumer court.

                    There is a heavy vibration when travelling above 80 kmph, At speeds above 90 kmph, steering wheel becomes very loose and free. infact at higher speeds it should become rigid. very heavy vibration above 80 kmph, makes me afraid to drive the car. This complaint was made in 2007 Sep itself to Local dealer during I service M/s ABT cuindy Chennai. They claimed to have attended it.
                    But recently on a highway trip I face this unsual problem of heavy disturbing vibration and loose steering, . It makes driving a fearful experience and stressful.

                      I gave my wagor R ( registration no KA-05-M-2838 ) for it's second service to Garuda Autocraft service centre. Since 2 of the mudflaps had fallen, i requested them to replace the same. They have charged me for 4 Pieces as against 2. Inspite of my repeated requests that this was not correct, they kept repeating that they get in 4 pieces. I even informed them that a customer will always come with 1 or 2 replacements and not all 4 at a time as this probability is very less. But they said that Maruti is selling in sets of 4 and i should buy the same.

                      i do not understand why Maruti is doing sucg gross injustice to a customer. Why sould i buy more spares which is not required for my car. Which logic satiosfies this requirement. Maruti can also make single packs and sell them in pieces.

                      My JVC music system was fitted at the time of my car delivery on 21st Feb, 09. Now after 6 months, FM radio was not working and the reception was very bad. I informed them to check this. They said there was a wire which requires reattachment and that they would replace the whole antennae. I have a JVC guarantee card for one year but they are still insisting that the whole antennae is to be replaced and it would cost Rs 250. I am unable to understand why this is being charged.
                      Garuda Autocraft service centre is cheating me. Please help

                        With reference to our vehicle no.GJ2AC8851 Modle A-Star, Vxi, purhcased from Starline Cars Pvt.Ltd, Mehsana on dated 12/12/2008, Chassis no.107667 Engine No.1007761, Of Dr.Ramesh J Raval.But there is a problem in my vehicle key.I visisted two times at Delaer but by him side there is no any replay from dealer.CCM of Delaer Mr.Rajan Mehta told me that problem is not in under warranty & not give the proper satisfaction answer.So Please do the needful job from your side.

                          we had baaoke a swift zxi some 18 days back at modern automobiles Ambala. they had promised to give the car within 15 days ... after 5 days of booking they started saying it has been dispatched and will reach you in two days and then they promised to deliver us on 3 august then on 5 august ...now on 5 august they say it hasnt been dispatched yet will take more days ... they dont even answer to our calls properly and making a fool out o[censored]s.. our family is part of maruti family since 1991 with maruti 800 then another 800 then zen vxi, recently had a a star vxi ... ... even our relatives are all part of maruti family ...is this the service and the way we will be treated .. if proper immediate action is not taken we and all our relatives will make it sure that we never again buy a maruti suzuki product ...

                            I worked in Hero Honda Motors Ltd, Gurgaon for 3 yrs with E PF A/C No HR/3221/21787 & then shifted to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Gurgaon with E PF A/C No HR/1215/212300 & Pension A/c No HR/1215/15353 but my E PF amount has not been transferred till yet

                            I sent the reminder 2 times between the periods of Sept, 2008 to June, 2009 & in past 9 months it has not been transferred

                            So kindly look into the matter & do the needful

                            hello sir ..I am amit narula from ludhiana(punjab).. i am having maruti suzuki alto (PB-10BK-6633).i get serviced my vehicle from your maruti service station(LIBRA AUTO CARS, transport nagar .. i changed the whole parts and accessories for service as per their saying.. and paid what they said, but i am still not at all satisfied and having the same problem in my vehicle . i am bing harrased a lot by the services.. infact i talked to the manager about this and he told me that we have found the fault and we will fix the problem. but again the problem still exist.. i have compained to main head, manager and to service incharge as well. but i am very disappoint with the services. i am a businessman and my vehicle problem is affecting my problem because most of the time my vehicle remains in the service
                            station.. i am fed up now and complaining about you for my problem .. i hope you will solve my problem soon.. my phone no. is [protected]. sir i shall be very thankful to you

                              We have delivered our car at Maruti dealer at Pali M/s LMJ on 22.7.09.My car was struck backside and I left it at Pali dealer as the insurance was also covered at their showroom by National Insurance.I was assured to get it repaired within 15 days but since then still no checkup is made by them even after passing 13 days.They informed us today that they have still not made the survey from the Insurance co.then how they will give the car within 15 days.I have to pay Rs. 1000 per day for the taxi which I am hiring from market.My car No. is RJ22CA2232 and it is purchased from M/s LMJ Pali[Rajasthan]and the Insurance Policy No.is 60229515 dt.27.2.09 of National Insurance Co.Plz arrange to get my car ready soon so that I could save these per day expenses.

                                RESPECTED SIR,

                                Regarding this subject it is brought into your kind notice that I had purchased two small items of car at the authorised distributors, which is normally max five minutes job, but even after requesting, inspite of helping the Mr. Das was unresponsive, laughing at me & threatened to me of dire consequences, & took 45 minutes to deliver two small when there was none to purchase before me, & I had to wait w/o any water in such hot summer.

                                I want to know why maruti emphasis on auth Dis.when their behaviour wih client is non courtious & shameless/ defame Maruti which is Japanese clobaration believe in high customer satisfaction.

                                  In last two times since I am giving my vehicle for servicing, I am being chagred heavily with almost 50% cost is of Labor charges.For all petrol vehicles the serviing labor charges are Rs.750/- but for Diesel vehicle it is rs.850/-???
                                  Also once charged Labor is there any need to charge seperate labor for evrythign done in the servicing like Wheel Alignment, Fuel Injector Cleaning etc..
                                  The parts which are supposed to be genuine, we can still thingk of paying higher premium but for labor charges for all small things, it seems literally they arew exorbitant!!!

                                    I have booked Swift Dzire Lxi in Chennai with one of the dealers in April 09 and i was told that the delivery might take 3 to 6 months. Since then i have been following with the dealer for the status of the delivery and the dealer was responding quite good.
                                    When i met the dealers' representative in the showroom on the need of the car as i met with an accident in Decenber last and my cervical spine got fractured.The doctor had adviced me to travel by car as there should not be any jerks to my neck.I was told to give a representation to Maruti which i gave also through the dealer.
                                    Meanwhile i wanted to talk directly to Maruti to convey my situation for getting the car, so i called Local chennai office.I was told that the concerned person who is a territory incharge would contact me. But i was not contacted by him even after my frequent calls to the local office.
                                    Then through some source i finally got his mobile number and contacted him and explained my situation but he was not at all listening me but asked me how did i get his mobile number rather than hearing my request and try to help me out.
                                    He disconnected my call and after that he was not reachable
                                    This explains his attitude and instead of hearing the customers' request he disconnected the phone and only trying to know how did i get his number.
                                    Iam surprised on this attitude and being a largest car manufacturer with ads showing a child showing direction in a snow filled mountain that there is a service center on the hill top.
                                    If this letter had hurted any body iam sorry.

                                      Sir,

                                      I had purchased a new maruthi Suzuki Alto LXI, chassis no 1204176, engine no 1240815, key no 2292 on 23/6/08 from popular vehicles and services ltd Kozhikode, kerala .Its Reg.no is KL11 AB 4796. I had done 1st service on 16/7/08(1000km), 2nd service on 22/9/08(2000 km), and 3rd service on 9/12/08(10000km) 4th on 30/3/[protected]km) and 5th on 8/6/09(20000km).
                                      From 2nd service onwards I repeatedly complained about the improper working of clutch and brake. On the 4th service they replaced some materials on the brake, but the problem of clutch remain still.On the next service, ie on 8/6/09 I agained complained about the clutch.Then they replaced the clutch and charged an amount of Rs.2000 for clutch overhaur and said that it could be refund later.But sofar as its not refunded.
                                      Even though all these works are done the complaint still remains. So kindly go through the matter and rectify the defects and kindly take necessary steps to refund the amount credited on 8/6/09.

                                      I purchased Santro xing in 2005from trident hyundai bangalore from day 1 the clutch was very tight i had complained to service center many times their answer was pl manage its ok now i have run 55000 kms with same condition now the cluct plate is gone and they charge me 6000 plus labour your case seems ok compared to problem i faced.

                                        I have bought a car A star from your dealer har cars ( dealer code K-IOI)on 3 7 2009.
                                        Durig the delivery the car was not fitted with the mud flap which was documented as done and not issued the steering wheel cover which was offered to me .The seconnd key was not given to me for some undigestable resons.I have to visit the show room thrice and seek legal back up to get these things done .even now I have'nt got the steering wheel cover.
                                        I have to pay RS4000 more as handling chageduring delivery
                                        .Moreover the dealings and behavior of the staff in the shop was very very bad.
