Hi team,
I received calls from 2 mobile numbers - [protected] and [protected] - several times over the last couple of days. Finally i answered the call on 30th March 2015.
the caller claimed that he is calling from SBI Credit card division and said they were more than 4000 odd credit card reward points which got expired. Those will be converted to cash and credited back to Credit card. They had all the details of my SBI Credit card, like credit card number, name, mobile number, expiry date. I doubted and asked them why are they providing such a service, they said its a one time offer from SBI card. Whenever, I asked any question, they kept the call on hold during which I could here the SBI waiting caller tune.
They told me that in order to complete the transaction, they bank will send an OTP which need to be shared to them over the IVR. I shared the OTP over the IVR while on call.
Once the call was disconnected, i recieved a message stating that an amount 4971/- has been transacted from my credit card on for AIRTEL MONEY Bill desk payment.
I immediately logged into my SBI Credit card account online and blocked my credit card. Also, i called up the customer care and asked to block the transaction.
The customer care executive, said he cannot do anything from his end, as this transaction is already approved from the bank. They can only take a dispute complaint against this transaction, but they cannot stop it.
I fail to understand one thing: Generally, any merchant will claim the amount only after 2-3 days after the transaction is completed. During this time if they receive a complaint from the card holder that this is a fraudulent transaction why cant the bank cancel or place the transaction on hold until such time that the dispute is sorted out.
I would request you to kindly look into the matter and take the appropriate action. If we can place this transaction on hold or refute to make the payments, that ways no party will be at loss neither the bank nor the card holder.
Please do the needful.
State Bank of India [SBI] customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
good morning.
i have applied for a replacement of my debit card as i was using
maestro card and was facing some issues, i have walked up to my branch
and have spoken to one of the executive there she suggested me to go
for a scholar debit card i agreed to her and have completed all the
formalities with the manager of the branch manager also asked to to
write down an application for the same i have done that too and
submitted the application to tha same lady who suggested me to go for
the scholar debit card after going to everyone in the brach as nobody
was ready to do the work as if they are just there to take there
salaries home without doing nothing.
anyways accordin to the information i was provided with the card was
supposed to be delivered at my doorstep within 7 working days but it
was not.
i tried following up with the sbi customer services after 15 days were
being passed they checked my account and informed me your docket
no EKO92264638IN. and iam trying to track but i cant. i can not walk
up to my home branch as
i'm currently based in delhi and can not go to my home town frequently
as this affects my studies.
the cherry on the cake is that they have not delivered the new card
but they were fast enough to discontinue my previous card and i'm not
being able to do any transaction now.
every time i need to perfom a transaction i have to walk up to the
branch where i get pathetic services which screw my head up and blow
my mind.
thanks
