I am residing in Kamadhenu nagar (Perungalathur). Here low voltage for the last 3 weeks, I made a complaint to the TNEB phone# +[protected], They didn't resolve this issue last 4 weeks. This is really unbearable, NO FAN, NO AC during night and my computer went faulty, lost one stabilizer, this is really frustrating.

Nobody responding properly. Can someone help me to escalate this to higher authorities?

    dear sir,
    This is amudha from thanjavur. I paid my eb bill amount of Rs.213 through online payment by selecting the indian bank debit card option and I paid my fees but it got failure and i tried for 3 times but i got same failure for those 3 transactions. I reported to the bank for this tranaactions but they are asking the failed transaction id for that payment. I dont know how to get the failed transact id. kindly take this as urgent request and process my request to recredit the amount to my account. Please process my request as early as possible so that i can my amount within the time limit.

      I am a retired Assistant Post Master General residing at the Plot No.79, Abirami Illam,M.C.Nagar, Nandiambakkam, Chennai - 120. My compliant is against the Electricity Board staff at Melur Branch, Minjur. My SC No. is[protected], Meter No. 10076635. Nobody came to note the meter readings for the month of Mar & April, but I took the reading on 20/04/12 and went to their office to pay the bill. The lady at the counter speaking over her mobile, carelessly entered 11870 units instead of 11570 backdated on 09/04/12 instead of the actual date 20th April 2012 resulting in a higher amount of Rs. 1323/-. The usal amount that I pay is around Rs. 100/- everytime. It did not even strike her as to why the amount is so high suddenly until I saw the bill she generated. When I noted that she had made a mistake and asked her to rectify the readings, she said it cant be altered and I have to pay for the unused units also. I was running from pillar to post from that time to get this corrected for no fault of mine for the past one week from AE to JE and to all available staff at Melur Branch and the North Thermal Power Branch.Nobody gave a proper response till this date. I had to run from one person to the other , but nobody addressed this issue which is ridiculous.Since the due date has come, when I went for making the payment yesterday, they charged me a late fee of Rs. 70/-. They get salary shamelessly for this kind of a poor and careless work and we consumers suffer a lot due to such EB staff. Such staff take your reputation off so easily. Kindly take the required action soonest possible and provide me the remedy at the soonest possible.

        Dear TNEB Chennai,

        Obviously being a govt. organisation there has been no reaction to the complaint made here, however I don't mind re-iterating that the same timings are being maintained for power cut in the sembium area - between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm every day.

        Thanks to govt. wanting to solve the problems of lack of power in the state by pushing the burden on the common man (among all the other hassles of lack of transport facility, rising fares, shortage of water, etc, etc,), we find that in our particular area - Sembium (Near Perambur) the power cut happens always from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm, even when it has been declared differently in the newspapers every month.

        Is there a particular reason for the same? And, can anybody please consider correcting this.

        Please note: this happens to be the most harassing timings of all others

        Madipakkam EB is doing unwanted power cut night or mid night. It is happening very long years in madipakkam. AE is not taking any action. No responsable answer. Scolding instead of answering the reason. 2 hrs is govt announced but they are doing more than that time. It is happening at least 3 days in a week. I have given complaint to chairman cell many times but no action was taken from TNEB. Sometime They don't pick the call.
        Please take action for my complaint.

        In Madipakkam announced time for power cut 10-12 but unofficial is any time whenever they think. Only one answer we get from madipakkam Eb,
        "Main supply is gone " . We get this answer whenever we call to madipakkm eb. No responsible answer. Sometime they don't pick up the call. If we go directly they will scold us.

        Unwanted power cut happened in madipakkam, thiruvalluvar street, Karthikeya puram yesterday(13-NOV-2012 - 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM). Today they have done power cut in the same area from 7:30 AM to 8:84 AM. What is the problem they are having this area?. Why they are not able to solve. We are facing this problem 4 days in a week. Scheduled power cut time is beatween 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. But they are doing whenever they think. We don't get any responsible answer from them. Today a lady was there, she was scolding the public in phone.Please make necessary action to solve these problems. Already we have registered 2 complaints regarding this problem.
        We are not using free current please remember it. We are facing this proble for 4 years. In this 4 years we are getting same answer(Main supply has gone). We complained many times about this problem to Chairman cell number. But there is no indication of solving problem in madipakkam. Please solve the problem to live people happily.

        We have resgistered 3 complaints here. There is no action taken here.
        Still they are doing the following areas for same reasons which we mentioned previous complaint.

        Please do for our favour. We are not using free current. We are paying and using. But they are not able to give power properly.

              There is so much power problem will available in our state . Why our government have not take a action improve the use of solar system in every village And save use of power
              Is my suggestion is the government will announce the low cost Solar power system For Agriculture
              for Less Then Two Acre (for at least some minimum solar use )

              There is no need of solar during the Rain period. The government will sponsor the solar to formers.

                Poor and irresponsible answers from sithalapakkam EB office

                Hi,

                Past 3 months I am living in Sithalapakkam, Chennai with my family. This is rental house only. EB meter is not running there, so some of EB employee was visited here while the previous tenant was here and they charged maximum average units 250 Units. Because they were using so many electronic items. But now we don't using that much items, we are using only 2 fans, 3 tube lights, 1 TV, 1 Mixi and 1 Indention stove only....

                I am a resident of Sheila nagar, Madipakkam. For months, we have very bad power fluctuation and voltage problem.

                I have checked with my electrician, he said it was 160 volts only. AC is not working at that voltage. Hence he advised to put a Double Boost stabilizer, which he said will work even upto 140 volts.

                I did that. Even after that during nights, the Double Boost doesn't work after 8.00 (It seems voltage drops even below 140 volts !).

                We are facing this issue for the past few years and no one is resolving this issue.
                Can you please look over this and resolve it ASAP?

                  I am writing about somangalam,Naduveerapattu, and puduchery village Chennai-69 EB area code 266-010 and other.We having frequent random power cuts as well as low voltage problems.it is showing 120v to 140v instead of 230v.Everyday after 4pm we cannot use wed grinder,water jet pump,fan and other home utilities we made a complaint many times they are not rectifying the problem.in those areas many people using bamboo stick to get (kokkee current) illegal electricity through main street electric line, from this month electric tariff also increases even though somangalam eb not taking any action,and many people paid[protected]for meter 2500 for bribe for EB staff) rupees for connection even though still not yet providing electric meter
                  We are facing the issue for the past few years and no one is resolving this issue.

                  There is an illegal connection in our premises. An electricity connection is in the name of Mrs.Kanniammal. But the above mentioned consumer is giving illegal current to an unauthorized building which is located in the same premises. The name of the illegal consumer is Velayutham. So kindly take action against the so mentioned person.

                    About 11 Resisdence, who are paying their bills in time are facing huge challenge to live here in Sachidanandam 2nd Street, Kosapet (Otteri Division), Chennai -12 as Power cuts and low voltage are frequent breath taker.

                    Most of the time power shuts down in the evening or in late mid night. And to add to the agony, EB complaint cell herein Otteri keeps the phone[protected]/[protected]) purposely busy so that they dont get disturbed.

                    Where are we heading towards, we really suspect. The power cut is happening daily or on every alternate days. For sure people of 11 residence had to suffer a power shut down for atleast 2 to 3 hours in addition to TN Government announced power cuts. We are fed up with the local EB guys. The children who are going to face their Semester or School examinations are the first victims.

                    We have been complaining this issue for the past two years but there was no result. We have already registered the complaint many times verbally as well as filed a written complaint to JE and AE of Otteri Division Chennai recently. we have enclosed the complaints registered to the corresponding EB offices for your references.

                    As per EB officials, the totally damaged cable is the culprit of this problem. They temporialy provide us a solution by joining broken cables or by replacing the fuse wire on the roadside EB Box.

                    The following are the reasons / response given by otteri division EB officials for these years:

                    - People of sachidanandam street should have stopped the Corporation before laying Cement Road as it is causing trouble in digging the road and laying the new cable.

                    - The vibrator has to be allocated to dig the road and to lay new cable. And, this cannot happen immediately because there is a fund shortage.

                    - Sometimes they ask us take the EB person from their office using our personal vehicle to attend the problem as the EB Van allocated by Government was not available. Also, we did it as we dont have any other options.

                    As a result of these mysteries, we outburst and place the problem before you now.

                    We, therefore, request you to kindly take early steps to check this problem and give us a permanent solution immediately. We shall be grateful to you for such help.

                      Sir,
                      There has been frequent power cuts during nights in and around Nanganallur areas @ 10 or 15 minutes each for every half an hour period during the past 1 month or so. This undeclared power cut during nights is in addition to the load shedding for 2 hours from 2 PM to 4 PM daily. That too, adding fuel to the fire, on every Wednesdays for the past 2 Wednesdays, a continuous load shedding of 2 hours during night from 10.00 PM to 12 midnight has been in force apart from daily load shedding during day time for 2 hours from 2 PM to 4 PM. The power cuts during nights causes equipments getting damaged. Causes sleepless nights for those who rise early in the morning. Causes much hardships to old aged, infants, patients to suffer for want of sufficient sleep in this scotching, unbearable heat and sweltering. Hence, requesting to set right this problem of concern o[censored]ndeclared load shedding during nights in and around Nanganallur areas. Hope that this issue will be looked into and fair justice is done to the citizens of areas in and around Nanganallur.

                        Low Voltage of Power in Old Perungalathur

                        I hail from Ganesh Nagar - Old Perungalathur, Chennai and we are facing sleepless nights and days due to Low Voltage/Bad Power Supply. While Perungalathur is growing day by day with multiple houses and families, we don't see any steps/planning being taken from the Electricity Board in revisiting the number of transformers that is required to meet up the current and future infrastructures.                         TNEB power cut after Vandalur Area. On a daily basis minimum power cut in the suburbs of Chennai are around 10 to 12 hours per day. However as per the schedule released by the Tamil Nadu Government it should be 4 hours per day. The following are the timescales the power cut is happening in Urapakkam Area.

                        Timings
                        Early Morning 5.00 AM to 6.00 AM = 1 Hour
                        Morning 9.00 AM to Noon 12.00 PM = 3 Hour
                        Afternoon 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM = 3 Hour
                        Evening 7.00 PM to 8.00PM or 8.00 PM to 9.00 PM according to the TNEB Urapakkam area convenience = 1 Hour
                        Night 9.45 PM to 10.45 PM or 11.00PM to 12.00PM according to the TNEB Urapakkam area convenience = 1 Hour
                        Early Morning 2.00 AM to 3.00 AM = 1 Hour

                        The above timings are schedule time which we can say, but apart from the above timings unscheduled power cut also happening.

                        Honourable government has to take step to give power to the suburbs of chennai. Since the people in suburb are also human beings and even they require basic amenities not only the city people are paying the taxes even people in Suburb also paying taxes to the government.

                        Even the people in Suburb also having the kids at home and elderly person as well. The Honourable Government should consider and make arrangements for atleast provide the power during the night.

                        Yes I am also a resident o[censored]rapakkam and i too suffer the same. I have a 2 month old kid who is suffering from rashes because of the powercut. Please do only a 4 hour power cut as released in the gazette. We are also human beings. We are not able to afford a house in the city hence we have taken a rent of rs 3500. Please dont punish us.

                        in vandalur the power cut is increasing day by day. when a compaline is raised to the officials they are not giving a proper response.in the night time every 1hour once the power is put off .13 to14 hours of power cut is faced by the people every day.
                        Everyday we have power cut minimum 10 to 12 hours per day in Chennai (Urapakkam), but the Hindu Festival we didn't have power cut. We cannot understand the power cut timing also.No Power cut on Especially Hindu festival no other cast festival. We cannot understand the basis. The Hindu festival next day will be power cut increase on 15 to 16 hours power cut and Low power also include.

                          Am raja.L we are residing @ 395/41-B Bramins Street, Vivirnchipuram, Vellore-District. We have registered the complaint in TNEB Virinchipuram Village O &M office on 16.04.2012, that our house electricity nuetral connection was disconnected in Over head pole line.

                          Till now the complaint has not closed. Still my house is in Dark. After we personally called the EB persons to reconnect & rectify the issue,,,, but no one isn't listen our words.

                          Please give some legal opinion against this issue.

                            My TNEB service Number is[protected]. From Oct 05,2011 - My flat is vacant & no usage was there. But TNEB has deemed my meter as defective & exploited Rs. 2000 from me for that. I am residing in Mumbai. While asking in person, they told that they should be informed about the vacancy of the house. That time I informed them in writing that my flat will be vacant up to May 01, 2012. But in next bill dated 7th Apr 2012, Rs. 1094 is on my head stating again "defective meter". Any body can help me for justice?

                              TamilNadu Electricity Board is a f...... & ridiculous board.
                              I'm residing at KAMARAJAPURAM , CHENNAI -73. I complainted to EB about the faulty meter (not working), they came and took away the meter (SERVICE NO:[protected] in December'11 levying me an amount of 1527/- to pay. They did not fix the meter till ARPIL'12 and i have been paying the amount 1527/- and recently its been made to 1656/- adding to new tariff.

                              I called up AE (Sembakkam) (ph: [protected]) he says it will take time. I really do not understand how much time they will take to fix it. Its been over 5 months.The the complaints weblink of TNEB never works. I've been going through this ordeal every where i shift in chennai.

                                Voltage Fluctuation at Telephone Nager, Erode-638002.
                                My resident of Telephone Nager, Erode - 638002. For months together, we have very bad power fluctuation and voltage drops here.when i checked voltage the input was very low 150volts only.this problem is continuing in our area for the last 6 months. many times i am complained to electricity board, but no actions taken from EB. you may take immediate steps for solve this problem.

                                  Tiruninravur comes avadi constituency, Chennai city traffic police control and comes under CMDA limit.Tiruninravur population base much higher than pattabiram and Hindu college combined, the TNEB cuts the power at 7.30 PM to 8.30 PM and 9.30 PM to 10.30 PM this is the time when office goers return home(twice the fold of hindu college and pattabiram population combined). People from Pakkam to periyapalayam and Villages towards poonamallee and tiruvallur halt here to go to their place. After reaching home people can't eat peacefully after 10 hours of work at office, people need a goodnight sleep which is bungled up because of power cuts(7.30PM to 8.30PM, 9.30PM to 10.30PM, 12AM to 12.45AM, 2.15AM to 3.00AM, 4.00 am to 6.00am). In city people are experiencing only 2 hours of power cut and we experience more than 10 hours what a discrimination. Do people in city only have the previlege yo sleep peacefully, don't we have lives? They do the power cut here and supply the power to chennai. If they do the power cut in chennai it will acquire a great media attention, if they do in suburbs no one cares. 98% of the people in suburbs don't have A/C in their they use only fan, but people in chennai use many appliances which consumes lot of power. People in chennai leading a luxury life at the cost of our peaceful life. Acttion need to be taken, I wonder why people are mouth tied. I heard that even madurai and trichy suburbs the powercut is less than 4 hours.

                                  Power cut timings 9AM to 12 AM, 3PM to 6 PM, 7.30PM to 8.30PM, 9.30PM to 10.30PM, 12AM to 12.45AM, 2.15AM to 3.00AM, 4.00 am to 6.00am

                                  The govt announces that the powercut is for 4 hours but reality is powersupply is for 4 hours.

                                  According to this article in Hindu the powercut inthirinunravur shoul be 2 hours.

                                    TODAY ON 24TH OCT 2012, I LAUNCH COMPLAINT BY CALLING 133555 FOR POWER AT 1.30 PM AND THE COMPLAINT NO. IS [protected] & [protected]. I HAVE EVEN CALLED MANNADY AE [protected], [protected] NEARLY 25 TIMES BUT HE NEVER ATTANTED MY CALL AND I EVEN CALLED AD [protected] I WAS SHOCKED WITH HIS REPLY THAT ITS NONE OF HIS BUSINESS AND HE TOLD ME TO KEEP TRYING AE TILL HE PICK CALL.
                                    THESE IS NOT THE FIRST TIME PROBLEM AND I AM FACING THIS PROBLEM ALMOST DAILY.
                                    WHEN EVER I CALLED AT 155333 FOR MY COMPLAINT STATUS EVERY TIME THEY SAY ITS UNDER PROCESS.
