Hello, this is regarding a fraud issue I had with one of your technicians Mr Mithun Bhowmik.

(LONG THREAD : Skip to end for TLDR )

I booked a deep cleaning AC package with your company for 3 Sep 2022 @ 3pm.

Your technician Mr Mithun was assigned to me. He and his partner arrived exactly at 3pm (attached call logs). He asked me about last service date and quality of cooling, which was around a year ago and no issues with cooling.

Without confirming the OTP, his partner climbed outside to outdoor unit of AC with his tools.

Few minutes later Mr Mithun informs us the screw in outdoor unit is loose, and gas is leaking slowly. He told us pressure reading was around 80, when it should be above 110.
He told me that he can fix it for ₹3k more. He denied to give cleaning service without fixing the gas leak first and insisted very hard that we get it fixed from him . We denied paying for gas leak as our AC was cooling pretty good.

He cleverly told to reschedule the cleaning service as he won't provide it and get gas leak checked before it and went away. I did as he guided me through the app.

Later that day AC wasn't cooling anymore. I was sweating at night whereas I get chills normally.

( I have temperature logs for every day) .

Next day the two different technicians came and checked the gas leak, the reading was down to 40 which is why it wasn't cooling atall. They further explained that this level of pressure leak isn't something that can happen over a year(As the AC would just not cool for months and possibly get damaged i[censored]sed) rather something happened over a few days. I had to refill the gas which costed me ₹2.2k.

The other technicians were very sorry after hearing the story and showed concern as few frauds like this Mr Mithun ruin reputation of good companies and their livelihood for quick buck.

TLDR: Basically the technician Mr Mithun Bhowmik caused malfunction by leaking my AC gas in hopes of making more commision money by offering to refill. I ended up wasting 3 days, ₹2.2k, and had to write this long email after this experience left me very distasteful.

I am hoping for a quick and thoughtful resolution to issue.

    Urband company ek fraud company hai kyunki wo gas filling aur repairing ke paise leti hai and take 2 months gaurante but in third month gas leak start back and again same money back.It has been repaired twice in the last eight months and today again the company is saying that it will be repaired again.

      I had bitter experience with Urban Company.

      I have booked AC installation service from Urban Clap on 31st August and the same assigned to professional name Sajid.

      He came on 1st September & spend almost half of the day and after installing Split AC he informed me that AC gas has been leaked & it needs to be refilled but I don't have it as of now so I will come tomorrow i.e. 2nd September & will do the needful.
      He also requested me that he forgot to start the job in Urban Company app so he will not get any amount paid or he will be charged penalty, so you please cancel the job & pay me amount in cash and he will talk to urban company and make them understand.
      Upon his statement I agreed & cancel the job and paid him 2360 cash for AC installation & 800 inr for AC wash, on day one.

      2nd September he turned up again with gas refill & charge 1600 inr, I paid him 1000 cash & 600 inr via Paytm.

      Later on I find some issues with my Split AC & I called him (Sajid) that ac water, rather than going in drain pipe, it's coming out from indoor unit & falling on my bed, upon it he promised me to come next day & resolve the issue but after that he stop picking up my calls.

      I have called Urban Company support team & they took Sajid on call and to my surprise he denied that he don't know me & he never came for installation.

      I have sent a mail to urban company in this regard along with screenshots of the call history exchange between myself & Sajid and the screenshot of Payment of amount 600 which I paid via Paytm.

      Even after writing mail to Urban Company and numerous phone calls, I have received no update.

      I have made numerous call to urban company but there is no update till date.

      Upon their request, I have booked another professional from urban company to make my AC functional, but he said the earlier professional who install your AC has broke the internal panel lock due to which it’s giving trouble to you.
      To make it functional we have to uninstall the AC 1st to repair the lock & reinstall it again.

      Never trust urban company, they only cheat you & charge hefty amount.

          Booked UC for deep cleaning AC.

          Mithun Bhowmik came with his associate. Went to outdoors unit and leaked the gas.

          Came back and told our "gas is leaking" and he needs to fill gas before cleaning . And was charging ₹3k for filling it.

          We told gas was already filled 1 year ago and AC is cooling pretty well it only needs dusting. He denied to provide any cleaning service before "apparant leak" is resolved.

          I told him I would get a local guy to check the leak. He told me to rescheduled in my app.

          Just one day later and AC is not cooling anymore.

          Felt completely cheated.

            Issue : After onsite AC repair, I was asked to make additional payment, which I agreed to and was willing to do but was unable to do as no option was provided for payment by credit card. (Same option taht was used to make initial patient at the time of booking the service)

            Have lodged complaints with the company, customer service head and finally the promoters/founders/CEO, but unfortunately, there no resolution has been provided. Customer service team had called only to ask me to make payment in cash, but unable to provide the same option through which the company has accepted the initial payment.

            Sent screenshots and even video recording to the company, but still resolution has not been provided.

            Request you to please have this resolved through someone, perhaps they'll listen to you.

            If you have any email id, can forward the emails sent to the company.

                  Dear Urban Company
                  I have taken the painting service from your team. It’s not even been 15 days after the painting. My previous issues were visible in painting like dampness and cracks in wall.
                  I called your representative you executive did the survey, he told me to get back on this. Now after 15-20 days your executive is telling me it doesn’t comes under warranty. What kind of service are you providing, I could have taken the service from some local painter if they would have resolved my issue.
                  My issue is same even before and after painting. During the time of the painting your executive told me it will 1 year warranty now what the hell is wrong with your team, are you a bunch of amateurs doing the paintings because by looking at painting it looks like it. Even the survey was done by your team now why should i bear the consequences of your poor services ?
                  No one is responding my complaints are getting closed with out even providing the resolutions. Please look into it

                    AC damaged part replacement

                    My split ac was serviced by urban company on 28th aug, 2022. During servicing the swing motor got damaged by the service man..He assured me the part will be replaced free of cost by urban company.Next day...another technician came for changing the part..As my ac is brand new and Hitachi make, I asked him to install the original part and show me the bill as proof. BUT HE DENIED AND WENT AWAY SAYING TOMORROW HE WILL COME TO CHANGE THE PART...From...

                    It all started with a complaint of a foul smell in the water. The customer called for a service and found out that the tap water is very clean and hence the TDS has dropped to 4. So either you buy a TDS controller or wait for a few days if the taste gets better.

                    While the technician Sanjay Patel was servicing the customer heard a sound and the machine stopped working. The technician had no clue what he was doing. The customer told him that the main switch has tripped. The sound in the machine was of the adaptor. The adaptor was damaged. The technician very smartly put a used faulty adaptor saying that I have replaced it from my end without informing the company about it. Now according to the company rules the adaptor or any product that is damaged during the service has to be replaced by the company.

                    The next day the customer's machine stopped working. It turned out that the faulty adaptor has stopped working further damaging the machine. The customer filed a complaint and the company agreed to pay for damages and sent a new technician.

                    The new technician Pradeep Pandey informed us about the faulty adaptor that was replaced by the previous technician. He guided the customer well and did the service free as the company had asked him to do, but asked us to replace all the filters. Pradeep replaced all the filters and asked the customer to pay 2200 cash.

                    The customer paid 2200 in cash but there was a pending amount of 1306 to be borne by the company as they promised. It included adaptor and service charges. Pradeep asked us not to close the service as the company usually does not pay the technician in certain cases. The customer agreed and did as told. Now the services given by the technician came under UC Warranty for the next 3 months.

                    The next day the machine stopped working and the customer once again called the same technician to check the problem. The technician said your motor is now damaged and it will be covered under UC Warranty. The customer said to please replace it asap as there is no drinking water. So he dialed the Urban Company and showed them on video the condition of the machine and how the motor was not working. The company denied changing the motor. From there on the customer is being denied the service and no one is agreeing to even listen to the concern. The customer has begged the technician as well as the Urban Company but there is no one who is listening. The cost of the pump is Rs 1900 plus Rs 350. The customer has to bear all the losses.

                    After 2 days company tried to compensate with 500 credits in the customer's wallet and apologized for the suffering customer had to face. But 500 can only be used on a new booking and the customer has to pay for a new motor pump in any case.

                    The customer already paid Rs 350 twice for service, Rs 2200 for the filters, and now had to pay around 2200 more for the motor that has been damaged by the company's faulty adaptor replacements.

                    The customer has now reached out to us to write an article about what he has to go through for just complaining about the foul smell. He has shared the entire video chat with us. How he had to talk to more than 25 people on call and chat and explain the same thing to everyone every time without getting a solution. We have advised him to file a complaint in the consumer forum i[censored]rban Company doesn't respond to the article tags on social media.

                      Washing Machine Service

                      I have taken the service on 30th November 2021. At that time their professional change the part(valve) (which was working but having some leakage) with the new one. But the new one was having some issue so the professional dismantled old part and used one small part of it with new valve. In a way he damaged our old part which was working but with little leakage and now we can't use that. So, with this the new one started working fine. But...

                      Hello Team,

                      I bought membership for a year of amount 299/- on 27 August 2022 at 11:22 pm.

                      But my membership is still not updated even when I connect with the customer support they said that they did not receive any amount, Also when i ask them to check from your back end they put my call on hold thrice for approx 30 minutes.

                      I asked them if you didn’t get any amount if you are not able to find any transaction so please mail me on my registered email or give me refund return reference no. So that i can go back and check with the payment merchant. They simply denied.

                      I need the corrective action or I will complaints against this incident with you .

                      Below is the snapshot for your reference.

                      Hope you will revert me back ASAP.

                        I took the ac gas charging service in July month and the technician looks temporary resolved the issue. I took the insurance service with UC .

                        Now again I am facing cooling issue with ac and in last 4 days tried to connect with UC customer care through app but they are not responding.

                        I am really unsatisfy with the service they are providing .

                        Please don't use this kind of online service app. They are only for money.

                        Please use the service from local technician. These branded companies are only for rich people not for common man.

                          Home cleaning service worth 8000 was booked for 29/08/2022.
                          Professional left cleaning disc unmanned which crashed into our expensive SONY TV, the repair of the same is costing a whopping 60000!
                          On top of this, UC is not working on complaint or has sent a confirmation or progress report of my complaint. Shabby service, damaged appliance and no customer grievance redressal. A refund as well as a compensation for the damages is a must from UC for this horrible experience.

                          Four days since the damage, no one has reached out from URBAN COMPANY for resolving the issue. Not even so much as an apology mail.
                          They do not have a working Mail ID, they do not have a customer care number. How are they being allowed to function without these pre-requisites as service delivery company is beyond me.
                          Their professionals could have murdered a customer and they still would give no response. Shameful!

                              Washing Machine repair scam

                              31.7.22 I booked Urban company for service which my working washing machine not started means power on but washing not started

                              One UC person came on that day and he said there was a sensor problem and it cost around 1500 . Then he collected 500rs from me and said tomorrow will fix the issue

                              TV repair and after sales service

                              I booked a professional for repair of tv on 30 th May 2022. The urban company charged me for replacement of speakers and other charges. After a day, the same problem occured for which the technician told me that the speaker installed recently by him was not good so he will replace the same soon. On 11th june 2022, he replaced the speakers again. For some days, the same problem again occured.. Now when I connected with the customer support...

                                One of my office AC wall spilt units was having the issue of low cooling and I got a booking done from the Urban Company app for AC repairs for 23rd Aug 22.
                                The UC technician who came, and investigated the AC for a few minutes, told me that there are multiple issues, including Gas topping up. I told him that the estimate is quite high and I would like to take a second opinion.
                                Instead of closing the case and charging for the visit, he cancelled the request.
                                I rebooked from the urban company once again for the following day, ie..24th Aug 22.
                                The 2nd partner who came investigated the AC thoroughly and the following were his observations:
                                1. The AC has been tempered by the 1st technician from UC
                                2. He has removed a few wires and parts essentially to make the AC malfunction
                                3. He has damaged the capacitor
                                4. He has loosened the nut, and inlet for the gas chamber, so the gas leakage can take place

                                I immediately arranged for a call back from UC, and got a call back after 35 mins, although the app showed a time max of 15 mins.
                                I explained the issue to the agent, made him speak with the 2nd technician, and asked him to resolve this. He said he WILL NOT be able to resolve this and I have to pay for the repairs. He said he will send me a link where I can upload the evidence (?) for them to investigate. The link never came.

                                I was left with no option but to get my AC repaired at a cost of Rs. 3050.
                                I want a 100% refund for the damages and compensation for mental harassment.

                                I have all the evidence to prove my case.
                                This is a serious case o[censored]nethical practice, theft and fraud.
                                If the Urban Company is unable to resolve a genuine case, I will be considering my legal options.
                                Urban Company customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
