One of my office AC wall spilt units was having the issue of low cooling and I got a booking done from the Urban Company app for AC repairs for 23rd Aug 22.
The UC technician who came, and investigated the AC for a few minutes, told me that there are multiple issues, including Gas topping up. I told him that the estimate is quite high and I would like to take a second opinion.
Instead of closing the case and charging for the visit, he cancelled the request.
I rebooked from the urban company once again for the following day, ie..24th Aug 22.
The 2nd partner who came investigated the AC thoroughly and the following were his observations:
1. The AC has been tempered by the 1st technician from UC
2. He has removed a few wires and parts essentially to make the AC malfunction
3. He has damaged the capacitor
4. He has loosened the nut, and inlet for the gas chamber, so the gas leakage can take place
I immediately arranged for a call back from UC, and got a call back after 35 mins, although the app showed a time max of 15 mins.
I explained the issue to the agent, made him speak with the 2nd technician, and asked him to resolve this. He said he WILL NOT be able to resolve this and I have to pay for the repairs. He said he will send me a link where I can upload the evidence (?) for them to investigate. The link never came.
I was left with no option but to get my AC repaired at a cost of Rs. 3050.
I want a 100% refund for the damages and compensation for mental harassment.
I have all the evidence to prove my case.
This is a serious case o[censored]nethical practice, theft and fraud.
If the Urban Company is unable to resolve a genuine case, I will be considering my legal options.
