This is one state and one city which is shining from outside but hollow from inside. I stay in Bommanahalli area in Bangalore. Everyday there would be 5-6 times power cuts. I am a student and am having exams.Half of the day power is not there because of which I cant study. No power means no internet and no study. Why this nonsense power cuts needs to be done. Cant there be an alternate solution. Please if somebody in authority is reading then please try not to load shed for the next couple of weeks in my area as I am concerned for my exams.
BESCOM IS A COMPANY. SHOULD BE PRIVATISED. GOVT EMPLOYEES SIT AND EAT MONEY AND DONT DO ANY WORK. INDIA SHOULD RULE OUT GOVERNMENT JOBS.
Each and every day there will be a power cut for at least 5 to 6 hours in RT Nagar, KR puram, Rammurthy Nagar. There is no particular time frame, whenever they want they will cut the power, people are struggling here. This has no effect on people who are working in software companies as they will be @ office in AC for the whole day but, what about their families who will be at home ?
Always the phone receiver will be kept aside and we get the same engage tone whenever we try to reach the electricity department. Irresponsible & careless answers, even if someone picks up the cal. For what sake the government is paying the salaries to these irresponsible persons?
Why do we have to pay huge tax to the government if it is not doing anything for the common people ?

    During past few months I have an intense feel that I am being charged with wrong bill amount. Though I have kept on paying all my bills.

    All of a sudden it has increased upto 80% of my normal bill amout. Once, I had even paid 700/- Rs.which is almost 3 times of my normal bill.

    Now it's like every month the bill amount is above 450/-.

    I request someone from the vigilence to investigate in this matter.

      Reg : Bescom connection - 8MSEH47627 S11 division

      I paid one of the bescom bills in Whitefield 4 months back and that did not reflect in system. So, i was getting as arrears in all my following bills. So, when i contacted HSR layout division, they manually corrected it in the bill and never rectified it, this made me run every month to HSR office. Finally, last month they made an effort to identify the issue and asked me to go to Whitefield division to get a "Adjustment Letter" stating that it has been incorrectly credited to some other account. So, i collected the same from whitefield and handed over it to HSR. Now, they are asking me to go to Indiranagar division and get another Adjustment letter from them!!

      My concern is, i have paid the amount and i have a valid receipt as well. Because of Bescom employee's mistake i am in trouble. why cant they rectify themselves for their mistake and why they expect me to go to each and every Bescom offices? Bescom is tortoring me for their mistakes! Please fix it.

      there is a need to clean up bescom operators, bescom itself has a good system its operators are goons right from class 1 to class 4, the typical govt. bribery employee. the so called AEE never works without bribery, and others too follow

        I am living in JP Nagar 7th Phase near Brigade Millenium.
        I have shifted there recently.
        To my surprise, I found out that there will be frequent power cuts during day-time(on an average 2 times) and now it has turned even worse.
        These days there are power cuts during night times also.

        This pathetic situation has to be addressed. I have stayed in Nellore(in A.P) for nearly 24yrs and I never faced such a situation. There the Electricity department used to give prior intimation about power cuts. For example, the Department used to inform us through media that, there will be power-cut in the morning from 8-9am and in the evening from 4-5pm.
        But there used to be no power-cuts during night-times.

        Before coming to Bangalore, I presumed that as Bangalore is a "CITY", it will be highly SYSTEMATIC and I WAS WRONG.

        BESCOM has to think over providing better services to it's consumers.

        Yes, am also facing the same issue. There is no limitation for power cut in a day. Just like that they are doing it. My friends who live in other areas are not facing such power cut issues. Why only in JP Nagar 7th phase?. Power cut happening in the morning before 9:00AM and at night particularly this summer time is really bad and This issue should be addressed asap as our day to day life is getting affected badly.
        Since last week there is lots of power cut happening in jp Nagar 7 phase. Even in nyanappahalli as well. Become team has to think regards.
        Become team is working hard but government is not supporting them properly. Even bescome team has care lot of this part.

          This is glonite, resideing in nagayanpalaya, maruthi sevanagar. we are facing severe problems with unsheduled and countless poer load shedding. our power station lazar road is the worst one across bangalore city. past a week there are about 9 to 10 times of load shedding. i dont think so this would happen in anyother place in the so called IT hub of india. we are tired of calling the lazar road bescom but no one picks the call nor responds. kindly look into the matter at top priority.

            Hello,
            Yesterday the BESCOM people came to our house in 106/7, 10th main nandanam colony, Horamavu main Road, and entered into our compund without permisssion and chopped off a whole tree saying that some of its leaves might fall on the line. In the process they had broken th ecompund wall!!!
            When my mother and sister protested saying that they have no right to enter our house without our permission they brandished the kinves and threatened them and assaulted my mother and sister and threatened them of dire consequences if they complained to the police or any one.
            My parents are old and diabetic and have BP.
            My mother's hand is swollen after the assault and is unable to use it properly.
            I would like to know if this is legal for BESCOM to barge into our house without permission and assault my mother and sister and chop trees and break compund walls?
            Is there any assistance I can get or complain on this assault.

              Bangalore has now now become less famous for being Silicaon valley of India and more famous for unscheduled power cuts.Although power cuts are a regular daily part of our lives recently they have becomment very frequent and unscheduled.For the past 4 day Kormangala 8th block is having unscheduled power for 4-5 hrs an day.There is no prior notice/information provided for this.And being a government organisation i dont expect them to provide us with the reason for these unscheduled power cuts.

              I would requrst the concerned authorities to look into this matter and atleast provide a schedule for the power cuts to the residence of bangalore so that people could avoid/plan to deal with this inconvenience.

              Housewife — power cut

              Dear sir

              Please can you tell us when we are paying rent of our power supply and every thing then y there is no power in shalimar garden ( ghazibadad ) please can you check y this is happen there is no power supply in this area whole night there is no power supply .
              as you know there is hot season please can you let us know y this happen
              There are unscheduled power cuts in our area for about 3 hours daily. It is very difficult both in home and office environment to survive like this daily. No responsible answers.
              The power supply in Kodichikkanahalli area, has become a big nuisance causing untold miseries to our daily lives. Power outage of long and short durations are as many as 5 to 10 times each day and there is as much as 4 to 6 hoursof total time each day spent without power supply. There were power cuts in the day times which is more than 3-4 hours sometimes even worse. In evening the is sure power cuts between 8-9 and 10-11 also in mid-night (1am to 2am,...) time there is power cuts. Most o[censored]s are working in the morning till late night and couldn't sleep because of this. Kids and students are affecte mostly due to this unintimated power cuts. How many times each day can this BESCOM do this? This has been disrupting our home and professional lives.

              The Minister for power keeps assuring that there will be regular power supply. Is someone from BESCOM or the related ministry listening to our pains please????? There was few/no problem till the BBMP election day. As this means the promise by CM is only for winning the election?

              BESCOM — regular unscheduled power cuts

              We are facing irrregular power cuts leading to around 10hours a day, since three days, This leads to lot of problems for students, housewives, old persons etc. Can you make it for scheduled power cuts for maximum of three hours? Due this problem we are facing acute shortage of water etc.

              Bescom keeps disconnecting electricity everyday from morning 6am till 1pm.everyday I call and log complaint. They restore the electricity for 5mins and close the complaint and then again disconnect it for 2 to 3hours.Why are they treating rural area people as animals to save electricity. Why are they not disconnecting city areas every area for 30 to 40mins ?? Today the current has gone for 5hours. They automatically closed my complaint .please do the needful or let me know if there is anyway it can be highlighted to higher level .

              They only know how to cut power in certain areas. And now they have a new habit. They trip the wire and close the office and laugh when there is a crowd outside the BESCOM office. Cm I request that you put people working in the BESCOM power branches in the same locality so they too can feel the brunt of our dissatisfaction. I had to skip work today because my phone battery died and I could not arrange transport nor could I call and inform them . Getting up at 2.30 am and expecting me to have a bath in cold water and do my shift and return home when the sun starts to heat up in the afternoon and sleep with no fan. BESCOM even Chennai doesn't have this problem

                I stay in NoboNagar area near Meenaxi Temple (Off Bannerghatta Road). I have always got inconsistent billings from BESCOM. From last so many months, even though meter was working fine and giving proper readings, bills never reflected anything. Prev Reading and Present Readings were always same untill last month, when the bill showed me a shocking amount of Rs. 5000/-!!

                This month I have received a bill which has "Prev Reading" EXACTLY SAME as "Prev Reading" shown in previous month's bill!! Subsequent computations are also wrong!!

                As I know, almost everyone in our area has this complaint. Not sure if this will ever be rectified by BESCOM.

                  Indiscriminate Power cuts and Indifferent attitude of BESCOM resulting in citizens undergoing extreme inconvenience

                  Our area, Balaji Layout, near Byadarahalli on Magadi Main Road (Vishwaneedam Post, 560091) is prone to one power cut every forty five minutes to one hour. The total hours of power supply in a day averages from 10 hours to 12 hours, with some rare stability during nights. The adjoining localities like BEL layout, Anjananagar etc also face power cuts but none apart from the scheduled 2 hours load shedding every day.

                  Persons already reached out to in the last one year:
                  Bescom Service Station, Sunkadakatte –[protected]
                  Mr. Rajshekhar – AE for the locality – [protected]
                  Mr.Rajanna (JE currently not in charge of this locality)

                  With assurances galore, this problem has been persistent for the last one year and several complaints have been lodged with the Service Station using their helpline[protected] and also Mr.Rajshekhar. It is imminent from the reasons that we have been given that the authorities don’t really care about how much trouble just citizens go through due to their proven inefficiency. The frequency of power cuts, the callous attitude of authorities is expecially significant in the light of the following:

                  Average number of power cuts in a day – 8
                  Average longest power supply period – 1.5 hours
                  Reasons given by the station authorities – Fault with the feeder, it will be fixed (all 8 times a day and all days in the week for the last one year)

                  Apparently, according to them, the feeder which is supposed to supply power to this locality (of around 800 households) is used to supply power to Nelamangala. Interestingly, the rest of the localities around our area are always well lit and it hurts to see our homes in darkness while an adjacent locality even has all street lights burning bright. A few questions that enrage the most tolerant of people are-

                  1. How many times in a week can a feeder run into fault? If 8 times a day is average, then the quality of workmanship and the skills of those in charge of these operations in questionable.
                  2. What insane logic is used if all four adjacent localities are fed through a different feeder than the one used to supply power to us?
                  3. How inefficient is the staff and how cheap must be the materials used for repair that repair work goes on for 10 hours in a day to supply power for the rest of the 14 hours?
                  These questions have been raised with Mr.Rajshekhar as well and it seemed like someone was listening to our problems until two weeks ago. Being socially aware and educated, we understand the need for load shedding but this kind of indiscriminate drops in power supply and inefficiency to the extent of not being able to fix an issue that has been persistent for more than a year now is absolutely not acceptable, especially considering that darkness is an invitation for anti-social elements in areas like ours where policing and community protection is minimal. Could somebody help please?

                  BESCOM — Power interruption

                  The power supply in HRBR - II block, Kalyananagar , has become a big nuisance causing untold miseries to our daily lives. Power supply in this area interrupted daily minimum of 2 hours without any intimation, . Most of the times the complaint telephones are either not picked up or the land lines are kept off the craddle. If they do reply, it is only that a maintenance work is in progress. What kind of a professionalism is this that BESCOM needs maintenance with the frequency mentioned above? How many times each day and how many times each month does BESCOM conduct maintenance? This has been disrupting our home and professional lives. Either the explanation (maintenance in progress) given by the staff is a lie or if it is true, the department is totally incompetent to handle power supply.

                  The Minister for power keeps assuring that there will be regular power supply. Is someone from BESCOM or the related ministry listening to our pains ?????

                    now a days, the bescom is testing the patiance of the public.
                    Dear Sirs,

                    I live in Mathikere in Bangalore and on 05/04/12 the power supply went off at 4.15 PM in our area including my house. My RR No is C6EH209 falls under C 6 sub division in Bangalore. When contacted the local office [[protected]] they were not lifting the phone. We contacted the central breakdown service no 22773333 and lodged a complaint at 6.15 PM. When checked at 8 PM the lady in the central bescom unit told that the fault is being attended to and it takes another 30 minutes. When we spoke to the Asst Executive Engineer of C 6 at[protected] he came back after 5 minutes and told us that power supply has been restored. When I denied that he came back again and told that it would take another 10-15 minutes. Finally it was restored at 9.15 PM. The irony is they said that they are not aware of the problem and got the complaint at 7 PM. When a particular belt with so many houses & establishments have no power how the BESCOM can say that no one has given a complaint ? Why they do not lift the phone ? Why they lie every time something or other to the consumers ? This is higly deplorable as the duration was nearly 5 hours but they took their own sweet time to attend this. I do not have faith in their system because last year i complained a similar case to their HeadOffice and the BESCOM staff came to my house and told me that the power supply was normal during that period which I complained and no failure has been recorded in their Office. With such people we never expect responsibility.

                      Hello,

                      I am residing at 005, Parivar Shanbhag appt, Sarvobhoumanagar, Aarekeri, BG Road Bangalore-76.
                      Today the electricity Current for my Flat was disconnected because of non payment of bill before the due date or 8th April 2010. I informed the BESCOM employee that I would be making immediate online payment on which he insisted that I need to give him a cheque of the bill amount plus additional Rs 50 in Cash. I refused to pay him on which he disconnected the electricity connection to my flat. He was very arrogant and threatning in his tone so I did not engage in talks with him but let him do what he wanted.

                      The Employees name was Muniappa. I want to make sure that his superiors are aware of this issue and action needs to be taken against him.

                      BESCOM — Frequent unauthorized power cut

                      Residents of BTM 2nd Stage are suffering from regular unauthorized power cuts by Bescom. Many institutions, residents & industries who doesn't use generators are badly affected due to this unreasonable action. Kindly look into this matter with top priority.

                        Dear Sir,

                        Due to low voltage problem, my borwell starter and motor burnt every 3 months in my house. There is problem in transfermer in our area.. BESCOM(Hulimahu branch JE,AE,EE) is could not able to do it from past 2 years...BESCOM is saying layout owner has to do it.. Layout Owner is saying BESCOM has to do it..

                        Both are culprits, cheating publics..Govt should strict actions on officers and layout owner & put them in Jail for 6 months to 1 year with any bail..

                          Sir,

                          I am a resident of Minhaj Nagar, JHBC Layout. Sir, in the month of January 2010 I had got electricity bill of Rs. 140 and due to some reason or forgetfulness, I could not pay the bill; then one fine day, a person by name Mr. Jagdeesha from BESCOM, ISRO Layout came to my house with a Register in which my Meter RR number and other details were there and he asked me to pay the bill or else he will disconnect the power supply. In fear of getting the power supply disconnected, I paid the bill of Rs. 140 on the spot to that person and asked for acknowledgement, to which he just signed on the bill as "PAID" with his signature on it and later in the next month's bill i.e. in the month of Feb 2010, I got a balance amount of Rs. 100 in that bill and I went to the BESCOM office of ISRO layout and on enquiring I was told that they had only received Rs. 48 last month and remaining Rs. 100 balance amount has not been paid. Further, I contacted the J.E., Mr. Nagraj of BESCOM, ISRO Layout and I am really sorry to say that these people did not respond properly to me and till now this problem is not solved and that balance amount of Rs. 100 is getting carried over on to my every month's electricity bills.

                          I just don't know what to do. Please solve my problem.

                            No street light

                            Hi Sir,
                            I live in #79,1st cross Sahyadri Layout Bannergatta Road Panduranganagar Bangalore-560076 and 2 out of the 3 street lights are not working and this is causing a lot of inconvenience to me as i come at night and the visibility is very poor because the street light is not working.So i humbly request you to get the street lights fixed so that it is more convenient for people who come during night.Please do the needful...

                            Hi,
                            I paid BESCOM bill from my savings account on 23/2/2010 for the month
                            of febraury using BILL PAY service form CITIBANK.Bill amount is
                            debited from my savings account and citi bank claims that bill amount is paid to BESCOM. Below are the details provided by citibank:

                            Bescom received payment on February 25, 2010
                            vide receipt number[protected].

                            BESCOM bill details:
                            Location code: S4/1120402
                            RR No: 4SEH45700

                            But in BESCOM website, the bill status is still showing as Arrears and
                            is not paid. I wanted to know if the arrears is updated correctly and will Feb month usage will get reflected as arrears in my next bill amount?

                              Name correction in Electricity Bill

                              Respected BESCOM Officials,

                              There is minor correction required in my electricity bill. My last name should be "BARAL", but by mistake it has been mentioned as "BARAI". Again the house address is "#29/2A & 29/3", but by mistake it has been mentioned as "#29/2 & 29/3". Please do the needful to correct both the errors.

                              In the month of February'2010 Reading, BESCOM have charged my RR Number's Previous arrears is Rs.166.01 Rs and Intrest for the same is 1 Re. Kindly help me getback my money with penality from BESCOM.

                              For my excess payment, BESCOM have to pay, Instead of that, BESCOM has charged me 166.01 + 1 Re. (TOTAL RS 167.01). What a clever organization?....

                              Monthly Reading for the month of March'2010 70 units Consumption and bill amount was Rs.577 to the above mentioned pending amount -Rs - 353 last two months bill amount already i pay the last two monts bill.

                              In the month of February'2010 Reading, BESCOM have charged my RR Number's Previous arrears is Rs.172 Rs receipt no - 5772 & cheque no -022419 date - 11/03/2010 please Kindly help me the this month bill status.

                                Today (Feb 5, 2010) I went to BESCOM.org website and found that the server is down whole day, as.

                                I wanted to complain of the following.online, but could not do so because of BESCOM server down.

                                Details of my Complaint :

                                In my following Flat No. 104 Jeevanadi Samskruti Apartments,
                                3rd Main, 3rd Cross, New Thippasandra, BANGALORE - 560075, I got an excessive Electricity Bill for Rs. 902 for a period of 12 days whereas my monthly Bill has never exceeded Rs. 350/-
                                Thus the Bill exceeds FOUR times the normal without any changes in its usage.

                                KINDLY INVESTIGATE and RECTIFY this urgently. My Cell No. is [protected].

                                  This BESCOM staffs act like thieves. On 7th Jan 2010 night 11.PM I attempted putting 500 rupees note in the kiosk and it got stuck inside and it displayed zero paid and no receipt came out. When I asked the security staff, he asked me to come in the morning. When I went in the next morning, the kiosk operator asked me to come in the night when the security guy come. When I went in the night the operator said security person will not come. Later he is saying he had checked the collection and found nothing excess. He started saying security person do not remember y'day's incident.

                                  I am planning to register a complaint against them in the police station if no solution i get.

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,

                                    This is bring to your notice that I, residing at Bank Of Baroda Colony, part of JP Nagar 7th Phase, Puttenahalli at 94/2, Iravatha house.

                                    Every month I used to pay my electricity bill on time, but this month as i was out of station the due date just got over (Due date was 07.12.2009). Suddenly on 11.12.2009 one person came to my door and was asking about my electricity bill (He was telling that he is the LIND MAN for Bank of Baroda Colony, JP Nagar 7th Phase). I said ok I'll pay the bill today itself with KIOSK. His reply was “Pay the bill to me or else I'll disconnect the line”. I said ok I'll pay you, but get me the receipt for the same. His reply again “I'll not give you any receipt, as everyone in this colony pay me like that, so you've to do the same”. I said no, I can't pay you then because anyway I can pay through KIOSK. He again said that either I've pay him without any receipt or else he'll disconnect the line and also started arguing with me and his sentence was like “As I'm not from Bangalore and also talking in hindi, so I've first talk in Kannada and then I should talk to him.

                                    My perception is a person talking in Kannada does not reflect that he is Kannada and has respect with Karnataka. I'm staying here in Bangalore from past 10yrs and has much more or equivalent respect like a Kannad a person. And I hope we as a educated people should not discriminate about any state or caste. And if we everybody or every state started doing the same then I hope we all educated people can understand that none of the state will improve in any aspect. And also if as a Indian we are behaving like this then we should not blame even other countries to bahaving with us when we are out of India.

                                    My question is not even whatever he told to me regarding my state or caste. My biggest question is if BESCOM is sending someone to recover the pending electricity bill, then they should send someone educated and also the person should carry receipt book with him.

                                    I've no idea how BESCOM will react to this mail, but I'm sure from nest time onwards the person who will come to collect the bill atleast will carry a receipt book with him.

                                    At last I paid him without any receipt as all my neighbours said he may disconnet the line if i'll not pay him, morover the bill amout was Rs-487/- and when I paid him Rs-500/- and was asking for the change, he said that is his tips and he will not return.
