We are 23 families living in this apartment. All of them pay their monthly bills on time. At times for some flats the bills are not paid on time due to either the flat is vacant or the owner is away on tour. Oflate BESCOM is disconnecting the power supply to the enitire building. This definately puts the other resident, genuine customers, for no fault of theirs are put into trouble. Is it right on the part of BESCOM to disconncet the power supply of the custmers who clears their bills on time, every time?

We need immediate attention on this issue.

Every flat has a separate meter and individual power supply with isolation.

BESCOM — Disconnection of Electric Power

BESCOM has started disconnection of electric power supply to residents who have not paid the bills with in 5 days from the due date. I do not understand why the authorities are silently watching even after collecting such high deposit amounts. Some one kindly help the citizens.

    I was unable to pay the electric bill for the period of October and the BESCOM staff came and without any notice they, just cut down the service ware. The staff told me that I can go to the BESCOM Office and pay the bill, and raise a complaint against it, so they will come and connect the service ware.

    Total Bill amount is accumulated to be Rs.329.00 including the entire fine, interest and the late payment fees till[protected]. I have paid the total sum of Rs.400.00 against the billed amount of Rs.329.00 and Rs.71.00 as excess payment for the next billing date and given a complaint to connect my service wire.

    Staff present in Kundanahalli office of BESCOM told me to make it arranged by an electrician from outside by paying additional amount of Rs.50.00as they don't have their staff to connect it. The electrician who came to connect the wire asked for Rs.50.00 i.e. approximately 16% of the total billed amount.

    I want to complaint against the BESCOM regarding their monopoly and adamant ?

        i just sent this mail to the consumer complaints dept of BESCOM. So lets see what happens!!!

        Dear Sir/Madam

        I was just visited by one of your personnel who came to collect some arrears from me. Due to certain prior commitments - i have not been able to pay my bill on time and have waited for the BESCOM person to come and collect it from home.

        To our horror, my wife had to listen to him talking about how "irresponsible" we were is NOT paying our bills on time and that he would be disconnecting out electricity. After i came out to meet him, he seemed rather surprised to see that i was at home and toned down!

        My simple questions

        a) WHAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR WAS THAT???? Its not like we have not paid our bills for 6 months!!
        b) WHO has given this clerk an authority to talk in that language and tone?
        c) Since when did BESCOM start 'threatening" its customers?
        d) I was also told to learn "kannada" and then talk?!?! where did that come from? Are we not in India first .. and then Karnataka?

        I am simply in a daze after that unwanted discussion with your man who almost cut my electricity out and told me i was irresponsible for having to pay my arrears to him and not to you directly. And i was a fool to think that he was actually doing his "job" by coming hom to collect these bills!!

        Well i sincerely hope these people who come to our houses learn some manners and develop some language skills.

        Hope you can take some coorective measures to ensure this behavior does not repeat - not just with me but with anyone else.

            Dear Sir/Madam,

            I have done all the formalities for the name change from M Rudramuni to Kumar Vikesh in the electricity bill for RR NO S10H28030 and have received the confirmation receipt from the BESCOM office but still the name is showing as M Rudramuni and not Kumar Vikesh.

            The receipt was handed over to me on 05-Aug-09 and was told that it will happen in 4-5 working days whereas now it is 12 working days.

            Request you to please look in the matter and help me to get the matter sorted out asap.

              Dear Besscomm,

              I stay in NS Palya, BTM layout 2nd stage, My house's electricity's due date was 18th June and i paid the bill on 18th june @ 12 by going to the Besscomm area near udupi gardens. Till now was fine,

              But on 21st June, when i returned from office i have no power in my house and rest houses in the street were having power and then i went to the same BESSCOMM office @ Udupi garden at 8 PM and asked and shown the proof that i have the bill within the due date itself but none of them was ready to come and put the fuse back.

              On so much of request a guy came and pluuged in the fuse and took money from me for coming and pluggin in.

              I feel this as a bad process irrespective of money taken from me.

              I kindly request BESCOMM authority to take a strict action and guiding them to follow the processs.

                Voltage Fluctuations

                The voltage fluctuations in Skyline Manor, Bride Street, Bangalore 560025 is excessive during the day and especially in the evening.

                Due to this my telephone adaptors have burnt out. A few of my light bulbs and our building light bulbs have fused.

                Please check and stop these fluctuations at the earliest.

                  Hi,

                  I am a resident of Doddanekundi, Marathahalli area uder subdivion S7. There is power outage for more than 10 hrs every in our Doddanekundi Locality. The power goes off at 9-9:15 AM every day in morining from last 1 and 1/2 weeks and comes at around 8-9 PM in evening. The resident people are every day facing problem of water supply due to no proper power supply. At least in the leading news paper the proper reason should be mentioned and if there is a power cut for long time then it should be mentioned in paper. More over this power cut should not be for 10-10 hrs. Please have a look atleast on this request.

                  To add on to the above issue now we have BBMP and BDA work on Drainage going on. The clash between both parties is creating un-neccessary extension of time line for completion of the work. As a resident we do understand the importance of the effort put in for improvising the roads and sewage, but the same should not be at the cost of ever ending work which has no deadline attached to it.

                    Brand Bangalore, plagued by notorious traffic snarls and pot-holed roads, has added one more feather to its infamous cap — frequent power outages.


                    Frequent and long power cuts have made life miserable for residents, but the government seem to realize that less rainfall is to be blamed. Why didn't the government anticipate the situation, and why are the power cuts unscheduled?

                    Most localities in the city are shrouded by dark streets for hours on end.

                    "We have power cuts at least three times a day with a minimum of a two-hour daily power cut, while other urban areas in the State had to suffer a five-hour blackout.

                    Commercial establishments can get generators but we individuals can't afford them.

                    "Karnataka is the IT capital of India and a showcase for our country to the western world in terms of the Indian engineering and IT capabilities. But the enormous power shortage in the national grid and the galloping demand in the state has meant a serious shortfall in the power situation in Karnataka.

                    Bescom is also finding it difficult to meet the demand in Bangalore with the government planning load-shedding statewide.


                    WHAT ARE THE STEPS THE NEW GOVERNMENT IS TAKING TO RESOLVE THE POWER PROBLEM ?


                    I am Manoj a resident from 14th Main, BTM 1st Stage, Bangalore - 29. Facing lots of problem with the frequent power cuts in BTM 1st Stage. 1 hour of power cut in morning and 1 Hour of power cut in night everyday. I have called and complained to BESCOM many times but the result is "Causal reply - Navvu yenu madak agu-tha-dhe".

                    The Government and the BESCOM is really not tackling the whole power shortage problem appropriately as a result of which we residents in Bangalore are suffering.

                    So, I kindly request the CONSUMER COMPLAINTS FORUM, INDIA or the respective POWER department to go through the whole Power-shortage scenario in Bangalore fully and kindly do the needfull.

                    I can do nothing but second this note. The new government came into power with a mandate to bring in revolutionary reforms. This has been true only for the infrastructure so far. Thankfully roads which were not tarred for over 10 -15 years (YES!!) have been tarred. Not deviating into what further work our Muncipal Dept has done on those roads, I would want Yeddi to answer some questions:

                    - Bangalore has faced a power supply problem since the past 20 years. Thats how far I can recall. Is there no way that the govenrment can think of ways of sanctioning power projects for the state
                    - Why are power outages become more frequent. As a tax payer I would like to understand where is the money being utilised.
                    - Why are power companies not willing to invest in Karnataka. What are their barriers to entry?
                    Recently, i started a small eatery joint in the garage area of my house.
                    There are only 2 bulbs (10%) in this particular area and 90% of the floor on which the eatery is, has been used for residential purpose.Is it true that even though there are only 2 bulbs, the entire meter will be counted as Commercial power supply?Kindly guide before the official start demanding some amount.

                      I went to submit my bill on 28/06/2009 at around 19:45 at BESCOM-BMAZ s6 subdivision EXTN

                      Counter ID:COM57 near Uddipi Garden BTM Layout.



                      Real Problem:I submitted Rs 500 then Rs 50 in the Kiosk(Machine). But it was displaying only Rs 50. I called up the attendant Mr. Shiva Ph No:[protected].He tried doing something i dont know what and he pressed the Remmit Bill /OK button. He(Shiva) then gave me the receipt of only Rs 50(Receipt No:12591).He then told me to come tomorrow morning to get back my money.

                      When i went in morning i.e. 29/06/09 he was not there and is telling me stories of coming after a day or two.

                      I request you all honourable officials to get back my money ang help me in getting timely justice.

                      This BESCOM staffs act like thieves. On 7th Jan 2010 night 11.PM I attempted putting 500 rupees note in the kiosk and it got stuck inside and it displayed zero paid and no receipt came out. When I asked the security staff, he asked me to come in the morning. When I went in the next morning, the kiosk operator asked me to come in the night when the security guy come. When I went in the night the operator said security person will not come. Later he is saying he had checked the collection and found nothing excess. He started saying security person do not remember y'day's incident.

                      I am planning to register a complaint against them in the police station.

                        Hi,

                        This is to bring to your notice that, there is Frequent outage of electricity in Muniyappa Layout, Windtunnel Road, Murgeshpalya.

                        With little rain the power goes off. There was no power since 8 PM yesterday till this mornign 10 AM.

                        After some 100 tries could connect to the central complaint cell @ [protected] who gave me the local complaint no [protected].

                        I tried to call the local complain no. the person incharge was yelling in a very unusual manner as if he has drunk.

                        The service by BESCOM in the aforesaid area is really pathetic. It cant be any worse than this. Further, the frequency of the problem is quite high. In 15 days, it must have happend almost 8 times that the power goes off for no reason and even after serveral complaints rarely any body from BESCOM responds on time. The behaviour of the staff over the phone is also erratic.

                        Can anybody look into this matter and take necessary steps to avoid unnessarily inconvenience to the people residing at that place.

                        Electricity — BESCOM

                        this is in Bannerghatta Road, Near Loyala college...The street lights are never On in nights, but its always in the daylight. Our CM has purchased so much power but where are they gone? he gives so many rubbish statements on news paper to fool the public. Even it rains or does not the Power Cut is more. Even after so much power cut there is no effect on the electricity bill.......CM dont fool people.......

                          Hi,

                          I'm Vasudeva resident of Rama Murthy Nagar Bangalore. We recently bought a land and constructed building. We did not had electric poles in the layout. We have paid the layout fees and got approval for 3 poles and also work permit.

                          Our site is East Facing and electric poles were placed opposite to my building that is poles were situated on the opposite side of the building. In the entire layout the procedure is same.

                          Due to pressure from another corner site situated on the west side, BESCOM Re-positioned all the poles to the east side and poles are just in front of my building. My brother has a site on the next parallel road and his site is west facing, electric poles is just in front of his house.

                          If rules can be changed because of pressure from a powerful person, then there is no place for Justice !!!

                          Can anyone help me to reposition the poles as per layout plan/rules.

                          Dear Bescom officials we had complained that pole was installed 40 years back know pole was weekend was slanted 1.5 feet out from boundaries for the same we have submitted the letter in pai layout in doorvaninagar in month of febraury 2015.

                          officials are taking it very lite in performing there job intime. we have requested not to happen untoward incident.

                            Disruption of electricity supply in this part of the city(Jakkur, Bangalore) has become a daily affair for last 3 months or so. Very often the supply gets disrupted for more than 12Hrs a day and that too during daytime. Nobody is bothered about it as riches are buying UPS but nobody cares about the fate of common people. Please look into this matter as BESCOM is providing the worst service I've ever seen.

                              Frequent power failures

                              I am Devi a resident from # 405, Nehru street, Venkateshpuram, Bangalore- 45. We are having lots of problem with the frequent power failures in Bangalore. There is nearly around 1 hour of power cut in night everyday. I have called and complained to BESCOM many times but the result is same.

                              Bangalore being called as IT Capital of the country is facing severe power problems. The situation is even more bad in the Bangalore rural side. This kind of power failures are quite regular in Bangalore from past 2-3 months.The Government and the BESCOM is really not tackling the whole power shortage problem appropriately as a result of which Bangaloreans are suffering.

                              BESCOM — Power Failure

                              Hi,

                              As soon as the elections are over, immediately from the next day, powe cuts have started 4-6 hours daily.

                              It seems, it not the IT city, its a village it used to be 10 yrs back. Daily lives have distrupted a lot due to this powe cuts.

                              As per Bescom, claimed to pay Rs 50 on each compalint, if power is cut without notice, so please all the people of bangalore, please ask for the Rs 50. Individually Rs 50 wont matter, but if all the areas ask for Rs 50 * number of families in the ares will accumulate to huge amount.

                              This is the very pathetic that Bangalore claim to say its an IT hub. IT hub wihtout power.

                              Why dont government take measures to buy the power, instead of just making promises.

                              BESCOM — Frequent power cut

                              In Marathahalli area in Bangalore frequent power cut i happening. It's not a matter of a week or two, it's a regular issue here for last 3 months. In a day around 8 to 10 hrs power cut is happening. On asking most of the times we are told either there is line problem or load shading. Some officials of bescom reply very rudely over telephone on queering. Bangalore is considered as one of metro city in India and this type of power cut which used to happen in village side is ridiculing the life here. I request to respective authority to look at this matter and resolve this problem as it is hampering the study of students as well restricting small scale industries from productive work. This is my 4th complaint against BESCOM on this forum but I don't feel this is working.

                                The power supply in Sanjeevini Nagar, Kodigehalli, Hebbal, has become a nuisance. The power outage is as many as 5 to 10 times each day and as much as 4 to 6 hours each day spent. Most of the times the complaint telephones are either not picked up or the land lines are busy. And always you get the same recorded message "maintenance work is in progress". How many times each day does BESCOM conduct maintenance? Either the explanation (maintenance in progress) given by the staff is a lie or if it is true, the department is totally incompetent to handle power supply.

                                Is there any agency to control/take action against this department? It is always noted that the department works reverse of what the Minsiters declare.

                                BESCOM — Mail Boxes are always full

                                I tried sending a mail to the mail ID '[protected]@bescom.org' twice. But mail was returned undelivered because the mail box on the other end was full. I am not sure if they ever check and empty the mail boxes.

                                  The employees of Indiranagar BESCOM located near RTO, and Kodihalli, are so rude, unfriendly and the service they provide is disgusting!
                                  They come home and cut off the fuse without even informing, for delay in one month of payment. And after the complaint given, they're never there to fix it. I have always had trouble with these employees; I am not brought up in such an environment as to go through such rude behavior.
                                  Why are the Government employees like this!?? why there's so much difference between them and people of other sectors.

                                    Lets me start with a statement - I HATE BESCOM. No service in the world is as horrible as BESCOM's .
                                    Doddanekkundi has so much of power cuts that nobody, I repeat no creature can stay here.
                                    They need prompt payment but dont ask for prompt services. Expect power cuts anytime of the day/week/year. I have never seen a day when there is 24 hr supply.                                     I totally agree and these days from past 1 and 1/2 weeks the power cuts is for more than 10-10 hrs a day and no information as to why this thing is happening. when complaining no result on this . It becoming difficult of the people of this place to sustain their leaving. Lots n lots of problems are there without power... We all should take some preventive step on this.

                                      Bescom says it will supply current regularly but fails every summer i have seen it from KEB days.My father says this problem is from his days (1947s)or even before. the karnataka power transmitting corporation limited or so called BESCOM is no use. every year the ministers say we will give u uninterrupted power but they fail to do so, this will not change after we die or in future our government is corrupted iam sorry to say this .I am 23 years old and am fed up with the way gournment agencys are running.I request all the ministers concerned with Bescom should have a metting take action .Patents Doctors in Hospitals industralists workers it companies are suffring because of power cutsand poor water supply If you do not take any action you will make people suffer.So please supply power properly.There was power cuts every 5 mins throught the day today (26 feb 2009).The engineer in Kengeri S town when complained about this says please ask the power minister do not ask me

                                      BESCOM — Power Supply So Poor

                                      The power supply in Munnekolala (Marthahalli) Area, has become a big nuisance causing untold miseries to our daily lives. Power outage of long and short durations are as many as 5 to 10 times each day and there is as much as 3 to 5 hours of total time each day spent without power supply. Most of the times the complaint telephones are either not picked up or the land lines are kept off the craddle. If they do reply, it is only that a maintenance work is in progress. What kind of a professionalism is this that BESCOM needs maintenance with the frequency mentioned above? How many times each day and how many times each month does BESCOM conduct maintenance? This has been disrupting our home and professional lives. Either the explanation (maintenance in progress) given by the staff is a lie or if it is true, the department is totally incompetent to handle power supply.

                                      The Minister for power keeps assuring that there will be regular power supply. Is someone from BESCOM or the related ministry listening to our pains please?????
