Renault Duster faulty AMT gearbox at 20k kms

I have a Renault Duster 2017 model Diesel AMT that has clocked 21, 000 kms.

The gearbox shudders in stop-go city traffic. Especially in 1st gear. The company is clueless and the dealers are trying to rip l me off my recommending expensive repairs.

If this persists I will and have the means to fight a long legal battle, there are million threads online in regards to the same issue.

I have been using my Renault Kwid which I bought in April, 2016. Though I have faced many technical problems with this car ever since I bought it but this time it is just not starting. I have tried to show it to local mechanics so that at least some temporary solution may be provided and I can drop it to the service station.

However, even the mechanics have been unable to understand the problem with the car and suggested I better contact the authorised service centre only.

On doing so, they absolutely refused any accountability and said I will have to manage to drop it off to them by myself by towing it.

I am a senior citizen, how can they not own up any responsibility and simply ask me to do the needful? Is this the kind of service Renault provides? What I don't understand is the fact that it is a problem I am facing in one of the products of their company, how can they simply not show any consideration and refuse any sort of support unless I drop off the car at their station?

The car is simply not starting in spite of the fact that I have hardly driven it much thanks to the pandemic restrictions since March, 2020. So honestly speaking, except for occasional grocery and other small errands from nearby places, I have not even driven it beyond my house vicinity. And yet, this major problem in the car has occurred where the engine is just not starting.

I have even contacted a battery supplier who visited my place and inspected the battery and he said the battery is perfectly fine, there is some other technical fault itself.

So I have tried to do all the preliminary checks I could at my part and would not expect a support from the service centre. Request you to please treat this on priority and ask the concerned service station to do the needful.

There should be some accountability on Renault's part. Responsibility and accountability should not end once the consumer has bought the product but also after the product has been bought and being used by the consumer. The company should take these matters seriously to avoid bad word of mouth to go out. Even if the product is faulty but if a good service and support is provided by the company then the consumer's experience becomes still bearable and almost compensates for the trouble caused. But in instances like this, I truly wonder if I did a major mistake buying Renault's product and will never go for the same in future and will not recommend it to anyone ever.

    Recently, I bought a new car from Renault. On Mar 23rd, 2021 I purchased Renault Kwid Rxt (opt) from Renault. The showroom from where I booked the car is Azhikode, Trivandrum district Kerala. On May 18th, My car started showing problems. It refused to get started & I was not able to close up the backside power window on right and also, there was a continuous sound coming up from the car doors.So, I registered a complaint on Renault Road assistannce. They send me a technician to resolve the problem. The technician informed that the car has a Electric problem which means Manufacture Defect. He asked me to take the car to service centre ASAP. But due to lockdown we were not able to take the car to the Service centre in Karamana which is 44 km up and down from our residing place. So, that means petrol expense will be more than Rs.3, 000. On June 24th I received a call from the service centre for car service. They told me that my appointment was booked on Jun 30th 8 am. And also it's a must service. So, I spend the petrol expense from my side and took the car to the service centre. I informed them about the already persisting car problem. We waited there around 3 hours. They informed me everything is well I the car. Believing in their words we bought the car back home. On July 7th we went for a ride. We usually pull down the car window when we get into the car. After running a while we'll pull up the glass window. When we were pulling up the power window, one of the window was not pulled up. So, our ride was horrible. After returning home I registered a complaint on Renault Road assistance. I informed them about Recently done car servicing details. On July 9 th, the service centre took the car to their company. It got repaired. They changed the car window motor which ultimately comes & stops at the fact that the Car has a manufacturing defect. If the car has a manufacturing defect why should I afford the Petrol and other expenses. The Renault company must afford it. Actually the Renault company must give me compensation for selling the defective car.And, also the usage is only around 628 -700 kms. I did 3/4th of the Car price as downpayment & now I'm suffering a lot financially & also mentally because of this Car. I need my money back or compensation from the Renault company.

      It's being two months as I gave my car for accidental repairs to a dealer in Pune but yet not got my car back. The excuse - they don't have the required parts. Pathetic service I must say. Further, I escalated to renault service centre and its being 5 days today and there is no update from them. Even called customer care again to have update and all I get is assurance that they will callback but it's just a assurance with no call so far.

          Bought kwid last yr in Oct.from start only had issue with vibration in 1st gear also on ramps the engine can't pik up and gets off..recently visited the renault service centre for some other issue and registered this complaint as well..
          The answer I got from the executive was "kwid engine has this problm"
          What the hell that means when I was purchasing it no one told me from the company that engine has this problem how can u tel your costumer that kwid engine has this issue inbuilt
          After that the executive was telling me that I should have bought kiger
          What the hell that means i[censored]r kwid model is so not worth buying why it's told after I hv bought it ??

              I am a proud member of your renault family and I reside at raigarh where there is only showroom and offers no valid support for servicing, you must be aware of the increasing number of people who own a renault vehicle at raigarh and this might increase, many people that I know have backed out to buy renault just because of this issue, I have already talked about this to local and regional head office but I am disappointed to say that their response was not overwhelming.
              I think it should be your atmost priority to set up a servicing centre at raigarh city very soon.
              Consider this as voice of many and not one, waiting for your prompt response..

                    I have purchased kwid car in 2017 & every year during monsoon i have to take my car to service centre to spend many bucks because of the faulty made car by renault.

                    Every year during monsoon water leaks inside & the floor mat area fills up with water. After giving to service centre every year, yet there is no permanent solution available, i am being harrass for the mistake of purchasing kwid.

                    This year 1st rain on 9th june 2021 have made my car sit idle in the parking due to huge water leakage.

                      Further to my post of Jul 19 in which I complained about the shuddering issue at low speed. In Dec 19, I got the flywheel changed under warranty as advised by the Authorised Service Agency. Now after hardly any running due to the COVID lock down I am again experiencing the same shuddering issue. I plan to visit the Service Agency as soon as they reopen after the lockdown and get this defect attended to. I understand from the TeamBHP forum that both the Flywheel and Clutch needs to be replaced free of cost provided the vehicle has done less than 70000km in less than 5 years. I will insist on getting this done when I next visit the Service Agency.

                              Hi Renault team,

                              Subject: Emergency Damaged parts Replacement car no TN22 DY 2700

                              When I took the car delivery on 5th May the km reading was 65kms. On 8th May i took my first drive to SP kovil the car ceased. The car was towed and taken to Chennai Kattu pakkam service station.
                              After inspection they have shared photos of puncture on the body on gear box. I have been driving 2 models of TATA cars (indica -TN07AX0573 & indigo-TN22BE 2822) for past 18 years driven more than 1.5 lakh kms. How come within 70 kms this car got damaged on 3rd day itself with a big hole on its shell. I have never seen a such a substandard material used in the manufacture of engine/gear box. How can I use the car next 1 lakh kms when it gets punctured for stones on the Road. Request to kindly replace the defective part. It will be of great value to retain the image of Renault in servicing the customers needs .

                                  When, I purchased a car(Kwid) it, doest gave me the milage which I expected and what the agency members told me..(18-24) and they told me the car will be giving the good mileage after the first serving and when I took the car to get it’s servicing done and till now I’m not getting the good mileage, car is giving a very bad mileage (10 Kms/L) . Ater driving it slowly and in a smoother way…!!

                                    Mine is a 2016 lst modl kwd car. I m th 2 ownr of tis vehcl. I bought tis car in 2019.  (10000 km ). Evr since tis car has been a headache for me.

                                    My car does not have the problems that a 2016 model car should have.
                                    The following is the repair & parts i have changed on this vehicle since 2020.

                                    1. Many parts changed - As instructed by the service advisor which cost me Around 8000 Rs ( I don't know wheather this parts changed or not)
                                    2. Clutch pedal issue - Entire Unit Changed
                                    3. Center lock issue  -  Entire Unit Changed
                                    4. Silencer Issue  - Entire Unit Changed
                                    5 Ac Complaints - Executive Says Condenser unit need to change which will cost around 8500 Rs ( Including labor cost )
                                    I never thought renault was such a poor quality products put on their vehicle.

                                    Tody I went to the showrm becase of th constant fon calls frm ur executive says tht ther s a maintenance offer now.

                                    I informed thm abt AC Issue.He said he wil chck&infrm. Now he called&informed me its condenser issue.entire unit must be changed which cost 8500 He also says no guarantee.

                                    How can an ordinary person like me to pay such a huge amount during this corona season.

                                    You can see from the service history of my car that all of the above are true.

                                    So I hereby declared  that I will leave this  vehicle if problems like this continues.

                                      I Approached Kanpur service centre for Replacement of Wind Shield of my Kwid car through Insurance mode, I contacted my Insurer for claiming process, they requested me to get Rough Estimate from service centre to process by online and then they send survivor for inspection
                                      In this regard I ask HGP Kapur to provide a Estimate,
                                      They replied with out receiving the vehicle we don’t provide the Estimate and that process takes 3 days
                                      Consider this pandemic most of service department working through online, but HGP Kanpur denied
                                      Is there any possibility to get rid of this issues, please let me know
