Dear Sir/Madam,

I have purchased Toshiba lap top around on Sept 2008.
From the starting only I am facing problem that it is directly getting shut down.
Usually this happened when i opened a mp3 file or digital camera or any other video clip to play.
I complained to local retailer but nobody helped me.
Now days it takes 2-3 times direct shut down when it starts up.Some times In between my work it directly gets shut down.
I have checked, when I operated the system with out charger connection this problem never occurred.with the connection of charger all these problems observed by me.


I have mailed about the situation to Toshiba care on Monday, February 16, 2009, 2:09 AM , for which i got a reply on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, 1:33 PM after sending reminders.

But in mail they helped me nothing.

After that I have send two reminders but got no reply.

Then I have discussed with Mr. Prashant of TIPL Call Center through number Voice: [protected] (Charges Apply),
I am providing below information.
I have deposited in HCL service point of ground floor, Kamat tower, Panaji Goa on 14.11.2009. Report No. 439.
They have not up-to-dated Bios set up as it is out of warranty, no other checks they have done till date. Only they have tested with another power adapter.
Only they have replied that in our supervision shut down never happened, according to them I have to change the mother board.( Cost will be Rs 20000/-)
They told they can not open it nor they can not take risk for out of warranty piece. Still they will charge me now RS 750/- with out testing any thing.
I have requested them to discuss with Mumbai or Pune service center for confirmation of problem or exact diagnosis, but they are unable to answer.
As discussed today I came to know that I have to register for extended warranty with in 3 months of purchase, which is never mentioned by the local dealer at Goa .
It is the mistake of Toshiba by keeping such a dealer as he is not guiding the customer properly.
Never from Toshiba or from my local dealer, I got an alert that it is problem with mother board and I have to go to service center.
Even for this problem, I have to wait a long period.
Now if it will be confirmed that the shut down problem with hardware fault, and I will receive no support, then definitely I have chosen a wrong brand which has no customer care, nor his dealer or service center is supporting to a customer.

till now no body is answering my mails from Thosiba.

    I got a Toshiba laptop and it was working for first five months. It has Got complaint with its board.It has got international warranty for one year. So I had given it at a Toshiba service centre at ernamkulam( HCL Touch ltd, Thoundayil Lane ,Panampally Nagar, Cochin). It took four months to arrive that board from the company.now they are saying that it has got complaint with its vga card also. Still now i didnt got my laptop repaired. This is the worst service i ever found. When i call them they wil say that they cant do anything and told me to contact at toshiba customer service at toshiba toll free number. then i contaced them also but i didnt got able solution from them for this much delay for getting repaired. Its almost 7 months that my laptop is at that service centre itself. Please take necessary actions to get that laptop repaired at that earliest

      Dear All, I purchased one Toshiba laptop on Dec 2008 with three years warranty. I had a problem in June 2009 and given the laptop for service. They found speakers problem and removed the speakers and asked for 15 days time. I told OK and they given the laptop without speakers to me. Whenever I am calling HCL, Vijayawada no response. Mr. Rajkumar of AM, HCL is a useless guy who is not giving any results on my complaint. As on today I have not got any speakers. When I purchased HCL told me that one year WTY will be from Toshiba another Two years will be HCL. If they could not able to give replacement of speakers better they should not sell any WE packs. Now the customers only suffering. Now all of a sudden the Vijayawada office got closed.To whom I have ask. Any how I have not given my entire laptop.

      Toshiba Laptop — Warranty failure

      TOSHIBA Laptop has been provided to me by Railways during May 2007, while I was working with West Central Railway, Jabalpur. Presently I am working with Eastern Railway , Liluah (Howrah). This lap top was purchased vide Controller of Stores, West Central Railway, Jablpur vide PO No WCR/S-HQ/MMIS/Laptop dated 03.04.07 in favour of M/s HCL Infosystem Ltd, Indore for 175 Nos. As per PO, warranty period is three years. Presently CD drive of the laptop is not working. (Model No SATELLITE A 100, Sr No 17303808Q). I request you to verify the genuineness of above details and advise me the nearest authrised service centre with clear instruction to your authroised centre to attend the laptop under warranty.

      This is my second complaint. Kindly advise & guide me.

        I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 which suddenly stopped working one fine evening without any rhyme or reason. Got it checked and they found a faulty motherboard. The machine was with the service center at Lucknow for approx 2 weeks after which I got the notebook only to notice the following faults which did not exist prior to the motherboard going kaput:
        1. Damage on all sides to the plastics:
        a. Front - just above volume control switch
        b. Left - just above the PCMCIA Slot
        c. Rear - crack above lan jack
        d. speaker cover plate hooks missing/broken (some had been put in place with cello tape)
        2. Right speaker damaged
        3. Bluetooth not functioning
        4. The clock is a real time clock - as long as you operate the notebook it works
        5. WiFi connection keeps dropping (whereas another notebook placed at the same place has no such problem)

        when I visited the local service centre, after having discussed the issues again with you, I was astonished by the behavior of the staff in general and Mr Prashant in particular. Instead of talking poltely, they were very aggressive - talking almost as if I were a thief in a police station! The way Mr Prashant spoke, it appeared as if I was not a customer but someone on the payrolls of HCL and a subordinate to Mr Prashant!! Almost disgusted at the very sight of a Toshiba product, he said "...why don't you people directly bring these Toshiba notebooks here for repairs, why do you approach through resellers?"

        When I pointed out that this is not the kind of service I expect when I buy a Toshiba product, Mr Prashant pointed out to a list of telephone numbers - "...why don't you call Toshiba and talk to them about it, why are you wasting my time? We only do repairs and we are not responsible for aesthetics". Mr Prashant further asked me " leave the machine with us and we'll see what can be done"

        Also, as per my reseller's advise I called Toshiba customer care yesterday, they asked me to send in an email alongwith a scanned copy of the job card. Mr Prashant refused to provide me a copy "...we dont create job cards here, everything can be tracked with the machine's serial number. Ask Toshiba people to do the same"

        I cannot give the notebook for repairs every other day as my office work is affected severely. Since this machine is still under warranty and has developed serious complications besides the above damage, I request Toshiba to have this machine replaced.

        This is not my first notebook. I have been using Toshiba for a very long time - this would be the 4th one - never did I come across such QC problems...one pays extra for brands like Toshiba expecting proper QC but this is a shock!
        Please let me know if your issue got resolved. I do have same kind of issue.

          I had purchased a toshiba laptop model L300 P-5011 from pune(laptronics, kalyani nagar).probllem started just after 4 days.problem is related to power on.it was very difficult to power on the system, specially after a long duration.i launched the complain in customer care but they only making me sure that thing will be o.k very soon but uptill now they are unable to solve my problem.my laptop is still in service center without any improvement.so plz help me in this regard.
          i am going to purchase 1 laptop and decided to purchase either toshiba L300-P5011 or compaq 510. Now after reading this type of complaint, my mind is clear for compaq 510.

            Pl see my mail to Toshiba's service head. despite repeated reminders I have not got any reply. Pl help...
            Dear Mr. Rehman,
            I would like to bring your notice the stress & mental trauma I am going through ever since I bought Toshiba A/c from Shiva Air conditioning.
            I bought Toshiba AC from Shiva Air conditioning in March 2009 after Mr. Jasbir from Shiva managed to convince me that he can provide excellent support both in terms of Installation, commissioning & post sales support. Once I made 100 % payment for the A/c, the real horrific experience started. The installation was done by one man team who did not seem to be very professional. No procedures were followed during the installation as laid down by Toshiba and clearly INDICATED IN service manuels. Since mine is a newly constructed site, the concealed piping was recently done. Shiva team did not bother to flush the pipes or check the electrical connections, instead simply installed the inner & outer units at their respective positions. When mechanic showed me the position where he wanted to install the outer unit, I was little concerned about the safety of the person who would be servicing the machine in future. But he told me that its company's problem & when
            they are ready to service, I should not have any concern. After installation, he switched on the machine & showed me that inner unit is throwing the cool air. Despite my repeated requests, nobody from Shiva bothered to give me demo or do the commissioning. After few days itself I started having multiple problems, like water leaking from indoor unit, AC making noises even when it was switched OFF by remote, no cooling, sometimes excess cooling, sudden stopping, etc. I contacted complaint centre but in vain. Nobody came to my rescue & I had to follow up with Toshiba & finally a service mechanic came from Toshiba who was unable to resolve the problem in three visits. Finally he had asked Shiva y'day to get the cable between inner & outer units checked & replace if found defected. Mr. Jasbir from Shiva visited my home y'day only to tell me that he would take 100% advance before starting the job.
            The experience I am having with Shiva & Toshiba has made me suffer both mentally & physically. This has impacted my health & my productivity at my office. Despite having invested more than 40, 000 INR on Toshiba AC, I am totally deprived of AC comfort & instead facing mental harassment & physical discomfort. I have 5 split units of Hitachi make 1.5 T capacities recently installed which are working perfectly. I decided on Toshiba in my master bedroom thinking that I will experience maximum comfort.
            Since I trusted Toshiba & invested in its product, I would like Toshiba to solve my problem - directly or through dealer. I request Toshiba to immediately get my AC up & running else I will be forced to make Indians aware of the reality of this Japanese brand which provides inferior product & service in our country.
            Please let me know if this needs to be brought to the attention of Toshiba's Top Management & I will make sure my plight reaches the right ears.
            I hope my problem will get resolved soon without dragging me into "Company - Dealer" dispute.

            I had Cabinet Factory Outlet Daytona Beach, FL (CFO) install new
            cabinets in my kitchen and was very disappointed in their work and
            the cabinets. The cost was approximately $5000. I can't speak for
            other installations that CFO has done elsewhere, but I am totally
            unhappy with the workmanship and the cabinets installed here.


            For instance: base cabinets were not leveled; cabinet doors show open
            joints; painted finishes were uneven; door finish under the paint was
            not smooth in many cases; some doors were warped; some doors show the
            beginning of cracking; caulk residue was present on the cabinet
            finish at the few places where they caulked; paint mismatch on
            spliced ceiling molding; and others.


            The job was to be completed in Dec., 2013, but discrepancies are still
            not corrected, Nov. 2014.


            It took six months to get a factory rep. (Mr. Greg) Fane here. I got a
            sinking feeling when the the Mr. Fane implied that I should accept
            that the factory can only produce imperfectly finished products. He
            mentioned a five foot rule: if you can't see it from five feet away,
            it is not a problem in Tru-wood's eyes. Mr. Fane said he would
            contact CFO with the problems he conceded. CFO said the Mr. Fane
            never contacted them so we are now in limbo because the Mr. Fane does
            not return calls and CFO has not initiated any contact in the past
            month or longer.


            Anyone can mess up, but the seeming inability and/or desire to correct the
            problem is very disturbing and frustrating to me.

              Hi We are from Mumbai, We had purchased a Toshiba Refrigerator Model FF M72 UTA Ref : 72UD TS, from Kohinoor Televideo at Andheri. We have had problems from the start, about 14 visits from the service persons, the problem was still not resolved, Not cooling adequately, Condensation inside the fridge. Food getting spoiled. Finally just before the warranty was to get over, we insisted we get a replacement as the Unit was defective. This was initially agreed to, but later refused. the fridge was taken for repairs and returned after 1.5 months, did work ok for about 3-4 days, then the problem started again. Now the warranty period is over, The problem is still not resolved. I am stuck with a sub standard product from a respected Japanese brand. I wonder if Toshiba quality has gone down worldwide, or are they selling faulty and sub-standard products to the India consumers. I hope someone who is concerned about the reputation of the company reads this. Definitely not recommend a Toshiba product after this experience.

              I agree with u, we also bought a Toshiba fidge in Dubai. It doesnt cool properly and goods get spoilt or frozen. We complained got it replaced but still same problem. So I guess its a problem with ALL toshiba fridges..

                till date we have not receieved our laptop back its been almost three months since we have given the laptop for repairs and after regular communication with them via email and telephone we are being greeted with words like the parts for the laptop is not with them and it will come from singapore on such and such dates in our last conversation we were assured that we will get our laptop on monday as on may 20th 2009 but instead of giving us our laptop back what they gave us is another date.we want the compensation which is to be determined, extention of our warranty for the time they consumed for repairing the laptop, and HCL should be penalised for misleading the customer.

                NOW IT IS TELLING FINGER PRINT SENSOR NOT AVAILABLE.
                I ASKED HELP FROM THE SELLER
                HE IS TELLING THAT WINDOWS PROBLEM.
                NOT COMPLETED ONE YEAR.
                UNDER DIRECT WARANTY.
                BUT TOSHIBA DEALERS ARE NOT GENUINE TO HELP THEIR CLIENTS.

                WHAT TO DO WITH THEM ?

                THEY HAVE PUT ONE RUBER STAMP IN THE INVOICE AS

                ' DIRECT WARRANTY '

                  I bought my toshiba last summer. t works terribly - very slow to open anything - in OE it says Not-responding while the little goes round and round. and round and round - IE doesn't have a place to write not-responding but that circle goes round and round with nothing happening. I called Toshiba and they said Vista is the problem so I called microsoft and they told me to re-install which I did which made no difference. Everyone knows that Vista is a problem, but Toshiba is the company that included it with their laptop. I paid Toshiba for a working product and it's worthless!!! I don't cate about microsoft's problem, Toshiba owes me a good product!! If nothing else, they should send me a Windows XP disc since that is what is wrong with their product. Companies always send you the two extra screws that you need to make their product, this is the same - they should send me the XP to make my product work, or else refund me the money I paid for the laptop.

                    My Toshiba Laptop is not working for more than a month, my company has a contract with HCL for servicing of Toshiba Laptops. The service is so poor that I have been asked to wait days on end for an engineer to come fix my laptop and have been lied to by Dimple (Customer Care) and Anirudh (Technician) from the Pune branch about coming and fixing up my laptop. They have gone to the extent of telling me that the technician is there at my office and has left because I was not there even when I have been at my office the whole day. The service provided by such a big company is just unacceptable. No one answers phones and nothing is actually done to help sort out our problems. Commitments are not met at all. Promises made but are broken and commitments are very easily made and not stuck too. Very disappointed to get such service from a big world renowned brand.

                      service at the centre " Laptop bazar, cyber peripherals pvt. ltd, shop no. 1, 2, 3, 4. ashirwad complex, opposit sant eknath rang mandir, osmanpura, aurangabad- 431005 is very much unsatisfactory. from day one of the purchase of TOSHIBA Notebook 300 - D5310 with sr no. 58078963Q on 14 february, 2009. invoice no. LB/A/1897, Order no. 0802.
                      complaint- repeated problems in the functioning of the laptop, with no clear reply on whether hard disc or the software is at fault.i am utterly disappointed by the service and would never recommend toshiba laptop to any of my friends, I feel so sorry and disgusted !!!

                        I have purchased Toshiba laptop (model satellite A135-S4677) on July 2007(serial no.77279588K). I have been through one year of frustration with my meachine. My laptop suddenly stop working in the month of April. I submitted my laptop in Mumbai Toshiba centre, I have been told that the rebooting system of my laptop is spoiled. And it will take two months for the new part to come. The part did not come after two month. They said it will take another one month. After three month they told that the part has still not come. And they send the laptop to Delhi. Now it’s been all most one year. I have not received any kind of response from there. The laptop is still in Delhi. I cannot afford the time to take care of the bad service and products that Toshiba is selling! I am still trying to get Toshiba to replace the old machine with the new one or give me back my money with littel success
                        When I made the choice of buying this laptop I did it based on the trust in the brand. Plz help.

                        Subject: Toshiba laptop L355 - Inferior quality, suspicious nature of the problems. I will never buy another Toshiba again!

                        I usually won't take the time to post any of my complaints on the internet. But, I wanted to alert others of the shoddy quality and the suspicious nature of the problems I have encountered with my Toshiba laptop L355. I bought this laptop almost exactly a year ago as of this date [June 16, 2009].

                        After using the computer for only 7th months, all three USB ports and the touchpad went out. Coincidentally, about the same exact time, I was advised via email, that I needed to purchase the extended warranty because the original warranty was good for only one year. Fortunately, the laptop was still covered under the original warranty at the time, so I got it fixed.

                        Because of my experience of repair problems with this laptop, I opted for the extended warranty plan. It is advertised on their website as $229 for three years. After paying for the coverage, I discovered that the extended warranty covered only two years. I cancelled. The day after I cancelled, the computer suddenly stopped working. I will have to get it repaired again.

                        Coincidence? Perhaps. It seems very strange to me that the laptop goes out at the same time I am "reminded" to update my warranty. Then, when I cancel the extended warranty, the very next day, the laptop malfunctions again.

                        I not privy to state-of-the-art computer hacking. But, I am certain it is very likely that these sort of malfunctions can be induced through the internet by devious means.

                        My advise to you: Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware! I will never buy another Toshiba product again!

                          I humble submit the following few lines for your kind perusal.

                          I Kota Raja Gopal, R/o H.No. 9-119, C/o Ballaiah, Laxmi Nagar, Boduppal grampanchayat, Ghatkesar Mandal, R.R. District - 500 039.
                          Purchased the above television vide invoice # 2074 dated 24-9-03 from M/s Tamakrishna Radio's & TVs, Bhongir - 508 116.

                          After facing the constant problems with the television set and even after repeated repairs, i approached Hon'ble forum for replacement of the abvoe set. The TOSHIBA manager approached me with a request to settle the matter out of Court and replaced the above set vide DC No. 77 dated 28-9-06 with a set serial # [protected].

                          When i again encountered problems with the new set i again complained vide compaint # 8C[protected] dated 25-07-08 and the service personnel who attended on the set informed that the new set consists of repaired / refurbished second hand mother board. Hence their malified intensions make clear that they have not only supplied a deffective and incorrigible set but also cheated me to the extent as a result of which, i suffered mental agony and un-avoidable problems.

                          when i tried to register the complaint on 9-8-08 they have not only deleberately misbehaved with me but also refused to note the complaint.

                          They have not even replyed to the notice given vide Register Post # A 9350 dated 11-8-08 with Acknowledgement due.

                          hence i request you for benign justice at the earliest.

                            Dear Sir/Madam,

                            I would like to bring to your notice that I bought a Toshiba laptop on 25th January 2008, from Pentacle Systems (Dealer) in Lucknow. It is just been a year and I have already run to 3 different service centres for the problem that I was facing. The warranty has already expired on 23rd January 2009 but my machine hasn’t been repaired till now.

                            The issue in the purchased machine was with its Wi-fi and Battery. Wi-fi was not working and the Battery was not charging sometimes, even when plugged in. The error message was ‘Plugged in, not charging’. I called the service station of HCL in Noida. They asked me to completely discharge and charge the battery several times. I finally took the machine to the Service station and they said they would have to keep the machine with them to examine what the problem was. They received my machine on 26th June 2008 (Call ID no. 25245). I kept calling them for days and weeks, but they would say ‘We have ordered a battery for you, whenever we get it, we would inform you’. I finally went to their office after a month again, to take my machine back. They returned me the machine after Replacing the battery and PCB set on 18th July 2008. I checked the battery there and it was charging normally, also Wi-fi was working. So according to the complaints that I had given them the machine for, they got solved but 2 other problems popped up. One, Bluetooth wasn’t working now, and secondly, Battery wasn’t giving backup more than 20 minutes. A completely charged battery would last me only 15-20 minutes. I kept calling them, speaking to Mr. Beni (head, HCL customer service station) but nothing happened.

                            Then I took the machine to the Dealer I bought it from, in Lucknow. This was in December 2008. They sent my machine to the service station in Lucknow and returned it after a week saying it would take more time to order the Battery, format the machine for Bluetooth, etc. (Complaint ID:[protected] So I got the machine back to Bombay (I am currently studying at IIT Bombay) which is still not fixed. Not losing hope I still took the machine to the HCL service centre in Andheri, Bombay (Job card no.: 312). This was on 6th January 2009, thinking that my laptop warranty is about to expire. They kept my machine for a week and when I called them on 12th January 2009, they said ‘Madam, the Bluetooth issue is solved, we have formatted your computer and we have raised demand for a new battery for you, you can come and collect your machine anytime and whenever we receive the battery, we’ll inform you and you can come and take that’. Firstly, no customer care can format the machine without the prior consent of the owner. Secondly, even if there is need to do that, they’re supposed to call and ask the owner, keeping him in loop for whatever they’re doing. I mean, what are phone numbers written on the Receipts for? When I went to take my machine on 12th, I found that they had not done anything to my machine. It was as it was. The same condition I had given them in. No formatting happened, no Bluetooth worked. Battery wasn’t replaced either. Nothing happened in that one week.

                            I got my machine back and while coming back, I called the Manager/ Head at the HCL main office (just adjacent to the Toshiba/ HCL service station). He sent me to Mr. Jitendra at the service station and asked me to come back after a week and said he would take care of it. Nothing happened then too.
                            How long can one keep running to customer care and service stations? At the end of it, work doesn’t get done either. It is till today that I haven’t received a battery. The service station guys keep telling me it will take longer (keep pushing it by a week every time I call them) but haven’t specified how much time it would take.

                            Well, it is indeed very surprising and sad to note Toshiba's insensitive, deplorable and awful response towards customer grievance. It's beyond my reasonable understanding that how an enterprise of this stature could allow such serious dereliction of duties on the part of its employees.

                            Is this the kind/ quality of service they render to the customers and expect them to pay 50 thousand bucks for a piece of machinery which that they don’t take care of? I seriously doubt!!!

                            I did write to the Head quarter of Toshiba in Japan, there were a couple of mails exchanged, I did send them all the valid documents to prove the authenticity of my machine. Nothing happened after that.

                              I have purchased a Tohiba Laptop on 24th May 2006 with three year warranty from Bhopal.

                              Later I faced problem with my mother board when I logged a call they told its a 1 year warranty product.
                              I followed up the case with local dealer and with Toshiba + HCL (service provider) for 1 month and got the mother board replaced. Also dealers assured that in future you will not face this. Now again the same problem is with Toshiba records.

                              I am again having problem an local service provider and Cutomer care is telling old story of warranty issue.

                                I have purchased Toshiba A80 model laptop serial number 16212243K which has Combo drive I have ordered for upgrade of DVD writer on 27/12/2008 and even made a full amount of Rs 5700 towards it on 27/01/2009 but till today 19/03/2009 there is no proper replay and i did not get the DVD drive till date i have attached the invoice bill also with this mail..

                                  Last year I purchased a Toshiba Laptop under International Warranty from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Last December’08 it was having a problem o[censored]SB port not detecting; that time I was in Mumbai. I checked Toshiba website and located HCL Info as Toshiba authorized service center in Bombay. Accordingly I gave them the laptop for repair on 16th December’08. Till then I had several follow-up with them but did not get back my laptop yet. I tried to contact Toshiba India by phone, mail and fax and asked them to replace the laptop as its not getting repaired under warranty : they also do not reply or confirm anything. Now HCL, Bombay also stopped replying my phone calls. I am now helpless and don’t know how to get back my laptop. Please advise and provide me contact details if any to contact consumer court or if I can take any legal help in this case.

                                    I am varun goyal From delhi, India using toshiba laptop A300-D5310.
                                    I had bought notebook on 01-june-2008 and i am facing a very big problem continously. I went to toshiba service center in noida (Toshiba Service Center), the id no. for the compaint is "54447" on 01-08-08.I visited service center again on[protected] with same problem .They had solved my problem but the problem occur again after every two months . The problem in notebook is that it turned off automatically after half an hour and full machine heats up. And the problem is increases with time.Now the DVD Writer is also not working.I can use my notebook only for 15 minutes after that it will turned off, because of this problem i already lost my pen drive and ipod, they got corrupted because of power off.The problem is occur again and i supposed to visited hcl toshiba noida on 24/11/2008 and my jobsheet no. is "48311516Q". They again serviced it and i met Mr. sandeeep there and he doesnot know how to treat with customers.I had words on phone with Mr. Alok, Mr. Anurag too, even they misbehaved with with me. finally i met Mr. yogesh at CP office . He promised me to take a action if problem occurs again. Now the prblem has occur third time so tell me wat to do now???
                                    I hav already suffered so much agony it will be vry kind o[censored] i[censored] look in to the matter personally and get my laptop replaced showing the trust and standards of toshiba for which it is known worldover.

                                    i bought this laptop of toshiba M300 just 2 weeks ago and the laptop has started giving me problems also...the keys of the laptop are popping out i have got 3 keys of my laptop already pop out... my laptop has nothing in it it empty...nothing installed no used also very much but still it works very slow...it has got 2gb ram 210 gb of hard disk empty...im fed up from this laptop and my laptop is under warranty...can u ppl help out by how fix up my keys and how to speed up...
                                    I also purchased a Toshiba labpto Model: PSU42E-005003KS,
                                    Within couple of months the keyboard letters started to pop out. The TECHGUYS replaced the keyboard. The system reboots for no apprant reason. All the rubber padding came off bit by bit.
                                    Later on the headphone jack stopped working and a minor crack appeared in screen, the crack was no bigger then a one millimeter, it started from the top part of the screen, within days the crack went right across the screen. I believe the crack was a result of not sufficent support is given to screen to absorb minor shocks. Every time you close the laptop there would a minor vibrational shcock.
                                    Would I buy a TOSHIBA laptop again? Definiately NOT.
                                    For 4 years I had a HP compaq nc6000 laptop, I never had any problem with it even though it was droped several times.

                                      Dear Sir,

                                      Ref. Jobsheet no. [protected] dated 16-02-09 for HCL Service Centre.
                                      060309/27 HCL Noida Customer Care.

                                      Despite my regular follow up to the service centre & Mr. Dinesh, I still didn't got any proper response.

                                      I had submitted my Toshiba Laptop to the HCL Service centre on 16-02-09, which was bought from M/s Webnet Consultants & the laptop was with 3year warranty, but now HCL Service centre's Mr. Dinesh says that its under AMC & it will take at least 7 days (not confirmed, could be more) to get the material from Toshiba so, we will be able to service your laptop. but now, its 27days & still they have the same answer, "It will take another 4-5 days".

                                      Due to their Poor Service, I have suffered a lot, have got huge losses in business, also it has ruined my GoodWill. I want compensation for the mental harassment given by the company & there Support Staff.

                                      I also feel that the company is not able to provide warranty on time to the clients, if its happening with me, than it would be happening to a lot of more buyer's, so to prevent such situation, I request to the ADCTA to inform all the Dealers that the company is not able to give the warranty, so before buying TOSHIBA or HCL material, keep in mind they also can suffer with the same.

                                      I am requesting to Warranty Issues & ADCTA (All Delhi Computer Trader's Association) to look into the matter & take action against the Company, as my work is suffering a lot & I can't do anything without the laptop.

                                      Awaiting a Solution for the problems i have faced from HCL & Toshiba.

                                      Toshiba — laptop ruined after going to service centre

                                      i bought my laptop last year in november. since then i was facing problems with display, sleep and hibernation mode, getting shocks from metallic parts, not working in projectors etc. i gave it to okhla service centre of toshiba 2 months ago and they kept my system for 3 long weeks and when they gave me back the performance of the system had gone worse. they kept the wires open inside the system, one of the two speakers was not working, still the problems with projector and display persisits and the laptop started hanging badly. there after i mailed to the higher offcials regarding this and clearly mentioned that i am not satisfied with the service centre and my complaint should not be forwarded to them again but they did the same. they called me up and asked me to again bring it to the service centre which i am not going to do. i spent aroung 56, 000 rupees on the system and i am completely messed up with its performance and the servicves of the brand.
                                      thus i want to lodge a complaint against the brand, the people of service centre and the engineer who worked on my laptop. as i am not satisfied with their reply against my repeated complaints. none of them even bothered to call me and talk about except the stupid service centre people.
                                      how to i find out the warranty status & who purchase the laptop
