    complaint against vodafone: unauthorized charges and lack of billing transparency

    Complaint Details:

    I recently ported out my number from Vodafone to JIO. Despite terminating my services with Vodafone, I have been receiving demands for payment without any accompanying bill or explanation.

    Complaint Summary:

    I find it unacceptable that I am being asked to pay without receiving proper documentation of the charges. Transparency in billing is essential, and I expect to be provided...

      VI has a cheater in terms of deducting money from customers. I was overseas in UK from mid November to mid January and had activated roaming plan of INR 6999 (Unlimited Incoming calls, 120 minutes of outgoing calls) . Around first week of December i was deducted for incoming calls @ INR 70 Rs per minute and call was cut off after exhausting my balance. After that my clients called up and it was out of coverage. My outgoing calls were working fine as I spoke to my client... I then called up VI customer care and they apologized for deduction and refunded money in my account. I asked them reason for same and they reverted to me that I was logged into Jersey area network whereby VI is not covered in international roaming (fair enough it says in their policy) to which i responded that Jersey area is about 600 miles from where i was located in UK. How can I latch onto network which is 600 kms away... it is like I am sitting in Delhi and using Pakistani Network for incoming calls and outgoing calls i am using Indian Network...

      Again issue arise in mid December when i was in London and balance deducted for incoming call from India. VI told me same reason that I was latched onto Jersey network. Again Jersey is 400 kms away from London for gods sake... They refunded money to my account...

      Third time it happened in First week of January when I had received incoming call and deducted money... When i call got disconnected, I immediately made an outgoing call on same number and spoke to 30 minutes... I then shared all my proof with VI that how can they deduct money stating that I am Jersey. I showed them proof on MAP how far away I am from Jersey (600 kms), Showed them proof that I am being charged for my incoming and outgoing not charged anything for 30 minutes that I spoke to Indian Number... As Per VI I was logged onto Jersey network while making outgoing calls... That means it took me less than 1 minute to travel 600 kms back to where i was in York (I hope Elon Musk contacts me to ask me on how I travelled)... Frustrated I asked VI for their response via email so I can start taking legal actions with VI.. Below is their email.

      As per their email they are doing me a favour and adding balance of INR 100

      Absolutely disgusted with VI and their services... After being a Loyal customer with VI for over a decade and my family for over 2 decades we are now shifting to Airtel or JIO...

      It has raised me more doubts I have been on VI Roaming for over 8 times in last 6 years and then I was on postpaid so I dont know if they charged me for incoming calls as I wouldnt check bill and just pay VI trusting amount they charged me...

      EVERYONE PLS BOYCOTT VI BECAUSE IT IS THEIR MODUS OPERANDI TO EXTRACT MONEY... I[censored] DONT CARE THEN WOULD APPRICIATE IF YOU COULD DONATE THAT AMOUNT TO CHARITY THAN GIVING TO VI...

        I have purchased Flipkart gift card worth Rs 14500 @ Rs 13920 on 27/03/2024 through Vi shop but the transaction is cancelled and also payment is deducted from my account and showing refund successful in my vi app but i have not received the refund yet.

              My experience with vodafone idea is quite bad in terms of poor network/signals/call drop apart from irritating messages from vodafone at the time of nearing recharge.                   I have received a msg regarding deduction of rs. 49/- towards activation of mydelights, whereas I haven’t activated any such vas. how do I deactivate the same and also get the reversal of the deduction?

                    Worst network of Vodafone Idea in Mumbai since more than 8 months as they are unable to solve network issue and keep on promising that we are working on it.

                    No 5G and charges 4g prices and giving 2g data and netwoks

                          Had signed up for a new connection in October '23, a data card with the Vi datacard device for which I paid 2000 in addition to SIM charges. In november I did not use it much but in December '23, the data card was not functioning at all. It just connected for 10 minutes and dropped off.
                          During the flood period I faced numerous difficulties due to lack of service from this data card. I had raise not working complaints and it was auto acknowledged but no rectification was done.

                          Subsequently, when the bill got generated by end of December, I requested for cancellation of the data card. Again, no response from customer service.

                          They sent my details subsequently to collection team and started harassing me constantly. I told them how I can pay for a service that never worked properly; complaint was not addressed properly too not responded.

                          Now another bill had been generated for Jan '24 for which I have not used the device, did not even switch it on. Need them to cancel the sim and reverse all false charges

                            Since vodafone is not able to provide data service to my location i am trying to port my number to another cellular network service provider. When i am trying to generate porting code i am getting below message.

                              Hello, I have a Vi Prepaid number, and I have been using it for several years. It is the number that is linked with my Aadhaar and banks. Unfortunately, I have lost the SIM card and I am abroad at the moment. I will need a replacement SIM card at the earliest, and I can share a signed affidavit stating that my mother can pick up the SIM card. Could you please share the steps I can take to ensure I get a SIM card with the same number?
