I am writing to complain against for Akbar Travels, Kollam, Kerala, south India.
On 7th and 8th July 2015, I was visited Akbar travels kollam office and purchased a To and Fro ticket to Saudi Arabia( Sri Lankan Airlines ) for visiting my wife those who has hospitalized at KSA. When I purchasing my ticket, I was informed the counter staff; I need to change the ticket after the three months so you need to purchase a ticket I can easily to change in your office. While he agreed and told me when you need to change just call me sir then we can change the ticket.
however, my returns schedule is on 11th October 2015 and now I am planned to change on 11th January 2015. Last One weeks before I enquire the staff through email and telephone regarding the subject but no one give right reply and many times I called their staff to ask about the matter. They told me they cannot change; the ticket is valid only 3 months and you need to go directly to Sri Lankan airlines office also you need to pay the penalty and extra charges. I am living at remote area near Jizan if I go to the Srilankan airlines office I need to travel more than 350 km. all of you are aware that public transportation is rare in KSA.
I found this experience to be very unprofessional and extremely unorganized. why doesn't inform their staff the expiration and penalties before I was purchased the ticket?
At last their staff’s solution is to pay additional INR.22, 000/ and change the ticket. I don’t know what the sense; the new ticket is available in the same destination and same airlines @ INR-17000/-.
I don’t specifically know where this fault lies, but I would appreciate it if someone could help explain this to me to avoid it happening again. and also have someone look into better improving their service.
