Sakinaka, Mumbai Post office — Irresponsible & poor service

I had purchased NSC from Sakinaka Post office for Rs. 10,000/- on 04.01.2004. Since this was my first time when I had purchased NSC, I laminated the same since I had preserve the same for 6 years. On 05.01.2010, it got matured I went to the post office. The Officer told me that I have to get the duplicate NSC and then only I can cliam. As per their suggestion, I filled the required forms and paid the charges and they issued me the receipt.I wrote my cell No on the form and requested the office to inform if the duplicate NSC is issued. Today on 29.03.2010, I went to check whether duplicate NSC has come or not. I was surprised to know that my application form was lying as it was and one paper which for identification witness was missing. The officer told me that they received that much only and could not proceed. Even they did not bothered to inform me. When I showed him the photocopy of the form which was submitted by me. He asked to re-submit the form and it will take another 6 months to receive the duplicate NSC. In post office they were not even having that form also. They used by xeroxed form for making another copies by hiding the written parts.
