I received my PAN card today i.e. 17 April 2008, in which my father's name was erroneously printed as GAUABHAU SAKHARAM DAREKAR instead of GAYABHAU SAKHARAM DAREKAR. I would like to know the procedure for correcting the same. Please do the same as early as possible.

Reserve Bank of India, Chennai — Income tax Refund

Just a few minutes ago I gave a compliant against the refund of Incometax.

The compliant is wrongly given against the Reserve Bank of India, Chennai.

I am withdrawing the compliant as the same should have been prefered against Incomtax department.

I feel sorry for the same and regret very much.

If I deposit up to Rs. 1 lakh in a year for a 5 year term in nationalised banks I get income tax exemption for the full 1 lakh. What happens when this deposit matures after 5 years? Will I have to add the amount to that year's income and pay tax on it?

The principal amount is not taxable and therefore need not be added to your taxable amount. However, the interest accrued on it is taxable and hence has to be added to your taxable income.

sir i'm doing business in pondicherry. i need coins like 2 rupees, 5 rupees and 1 rupees.first i approach to RBI chennai branch. they asked me to bring letter from pondicherry bank Non avaliabilty of coins. I also got letter from bank with that i attached pan card xerox copy, my business letter stating need of coins and also bank letter. i use to get from rbi chennai bank by taking car from pondicherry it cost 1000 rs expense for me.
But now they are saying will not give coins to person who coming from pondicherry. they told me go ask SBI main Branch and UCO bank in pondicherry.
then i gone to SBI bank they no coins available here. likewise i went to UCO bank they says we'll give coins only for account holder.

this is my position . what can i do sir and where can i go to get coins. due to shortage of coins there are lots problems in business with customer and us.

please tell me i can do.

The PAN card service is really terrible and in your case kindly submit a letter to the main office branch addressing your whole complain to the main office in charge. Also submit your all information of PAN if asked.

This should work as it had worked for one of my friend who's card had never came to him. So always contact the direct authority and not rely on any others.

i recently visited kashmir srinagar and i have seen people are useing black mony with out fear only 1 to 2 percent people are paying tax just for names sake .i wonder were is income tax department is are they sleeping after taking huge salries, nowthey are budden on the nation. if income tax people are relly intresting to take action in city i will help them.

I have a complaint regarding the rents in chennai, i stay in chennai and my owner collecting 5000 as rent and when i asked for a rent receipt and agreement he told that it is only a gentle man agreement and as i require the house i told thats ok and it is near to six months i am staying there and now he telling that he would increase the rent to 6500 and the reason he is giving is that he need to pay the loan amount and the interest rates have increased.

What is this, its not fair to do like that only after one year of stay generally they will increase the rent to 10-15% but he increased it to around 30% and aslo he is not giving the receipts which is really not fair and i want to raise a complaint against him.

please ask the income tax department to hava a ride to our home and ask for his income, my owner is a phd holder and he is working as a lecturer and his income would be around 25000 and he has given his house for rent and one single bed room is 5000 and double bedroom is around 11000(present) and he increased to 6500 and 14000 respectively and he gives all rubbish news can you please look in to this matter.

I first applied for a pan car during Jan 2008. I was then informed that the card (PAN number BQPPS4418A, being first PAN) was sent to my native place (Shillong, Meghalaya) through mail. But I did not received any card nor the letter. It was confirmed by the Post Office that there was no letter sent for me from Income Tax Department (ITD). I then applied for a new card in year ending 2008 and PAN number BWWPS3989R (present number) has been alloted to me. When I check the status in http://tin.tin.nsdl.com it is still showing BQPPS4418A to be my PAN Card. But when I check my status in https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/knowpan/knowpan.jsp, i found out that my PAN number is BWWPS3989R.
So, I am now confused whether I have two PAN number (BQPPS4418A and BWWPS3989R) under my name or whether the previous number BQPPS4418A has been cancelled and then alloted me a new number BWWPS3989R. Could you please check, which is my present PAN CARD number and update me on this issue?

Myself RamPrakash Yadav having pancard number AANPY3771B. when i going to e-file my income tax return, message comes as "data not available". so, for further query i just go income tax department and tell them my problems towards my pancard problems. After their verification they told me to give an application for restoration of pan card. i do the same.

but still my work is pending and my problems are same.

I have given for the cancellation of wrong PAN card which was allotted to me but even after requesting thrice, I have got the corrected PAN details but the wrong one is still in the database and have not been canceled. Could some body take action against this.

I got a call today from the Income tax department and when I asked about the status, the lady on the call shouted at me and asked whether I have received the corrected PAN or not and when I said yes. She said she will not be able to answer any call and disconnected it.

Not a good service at all by the department to whom we pay our hard earned money. Really hopeless service by the IT DEPARTMENT.

I have never appllied for duplicate pan and nor i received a another pan card, But one day i received a letter of duplicate pan no. AENPA3805N which is not mine I requested the deptt. immediatly to cancell the allotted pan. But none has replied. But when i requested the TDS refund of my return. for 3 to 4 yrs. Deptt. told me, first u cancell ur Duplicate pan then u will get refund.
I once again requested the deptt. and received a letter from there to contact ur Assessing Officer. F.No. CIT(CO)/PAN/2010-11/532/817 dated 21.06.2010. But my CA informed me nothing is going on.
I would request once again, Kindly cancell the duplicate PAN NO. AENPA3805N.

I was alloted a pan card with the no ADPPR5735F.I was using that card for last 15 yrs, all my form 16 are having the same pan no. I was in Indian Navy and retired on 31/08/2011 after completion of 15 years of glorious service. Unfortunately I lost my pan card two years back. I made all the formallities and applied the card. But I did not get the new one, then i mail to nsdl site and they are guided me to go to some nearest income tax office. I went to "aaikar bhawan" in kolkata. After a long verification they told me that I was initially issued with two pan card, and the card that I was issued and used in all my documentation was lapsed a long back and the original card was not issued to me ever. I was instructed to apply the pan card with the new no. AFCPR6949G. I was applied with the new no. and get the pan card of my name. Now problem is that I joined in Indian audit and account department now I have to give my details about my pan card as the card has the new no it will become constraint to my future financial transaction. Moreover as a pensioner I am getting pension from navy where the old pan no is mentioned all returns including form 16 is having the old pan no. But in cag the new no is mentioned. So the same person with two pan no will be a serious issue as my knowledge. So my humble request is please change my old pan no in all financial documents (form 16) with the new one.My old form 16 with the lapse pan no is hereby attached for your reference.
