I booked a AIzawl-Kolkata flight on 17th May, 2022 from a ticket booking website. It was for three passengers and i have cancelled the ticket for one of the passengers on the day I booked the flight as I have typed the wrong name. I received the refund soon enough to use the refund money to book another ticket for the right name. But on the day of the flight, it was raining heavily here at Lengpui Airport, Aizawl. So the flight got bloody CANCELLED!!
Obviously i opened the website where i booked the flight ticket and opted to cancel the flight tickets of the remaining two passengers. And for reason of cancellation, i selected the option that said the airline cancelled the flight. I was hinted that refund will be processed within 3-7 working days from the day of cancellation. But since I was eager to clarify, I called the "IndiGo Airlines Customer Care" number: [protected] today, i.e., the 21st May, 2022 at 10:55 pm. The automated reply answered with instructions as always and I obliged respectively to inquire about the Refund status and amount for the cancelled flight.
And then I was connected to this "IndiGo Agent"! Initially he sounded normal, but then instantly after I told him my flight PNR number, he told me, ".. .please hold the line, uhh hold the line please. . .uhh umm hold the line .. . just checking, hold the line. there is some issues with this .. .let me check.. .uhh let me check hold the line..uhh some issues here .I have to put this call on hold. Please hold the line...???" So I held the line, what else could I helplessly ever do from the other end of the line? So I waited and waited and waited.. . The call's on-hold tune played on and on and on... .he made me wait until the line just got cut off! I mean, what was that behaviour?
I was just desperate for assurance!! I'm so sorry if I was somehow, a pain in the a**!! But I did not expect that kind of gesture from such a prestigious airline telecalling agent, someone i consider a 'Professional'. I wish it never happens to anyone else. I was calm pre-call but now I'm too furious to just let ti pass! I was actually speechless.
I called again at the same number. This time, it was better, my call was connected to this guy who was much more cordial, patient and polite with me even though he knew I was mad. That was all I needed - Assurance. I really wish I know who the previous guy is. He was definitely not sober, or maybe he was underslept or malnourished haha!
