I had given my Micromax Canvas A116 HD mobile to the Plamoodu authorised service center, on Feb last week 2014, having an issue of mobile not turning on after showing the canvas logo. The service center checked and informed me that the board need to change and thus I submitted my mobile there. After 2 months, after many recurring calls (which they don't even attend most of the time) and visiting there, the informed that the board was arrived. "Fortunately" with their servicing skills, the mobile turns on. But it was only that and the device was not detecting any other cards. I again had to submit a petition for the network cable and after many weeks at last they called me and informed that it is working now. I go, collected and verified and found that its still not detecting. They again extended the date. After one week I went to the service center and at last in front of me, they took another mobile which came for service and from that they replaced my network cable. Wow... What a customer service. The cameras are currently not detecting. Again they tried to replace the camera from another device there. Back camera works(of course even I identify a spot in the camera lens and they told its in the panel, and it is still therein the lens ). They informed that they will file a petition internally as it was their defect and will call me back when its ready. And handed me the mobile as it was not a serious issue. Then my warranty period was over and they didn't call me. Later I went there after 3 months when I had a software complaint and asked them and they said there was no such filed petition. And later they agreed and informed me that they raised a petition with the date before the warranty date. For doing the software, I went there 5 days, and they told that the replaced camera is not working and the issue is on handset board.
As the complaint was already raised I asked them that this has to register with the registry date before the warranty period. They said they can't do that and if I submit my mobile their they will fix it without registering the item, and currently they don't have the board in their service center(ofcourse, for camera they had already done that). I was not willing to do that as they might use its parts for servicing other mobiles and I don't have a proof that my mobile was submitted there. So I returned my handset.
The performance of the device was good till it got an issue. And I might buy a new handset to upgrade from Micromax itself. But the servicing skill and the customer care for Micromax has helped me to change quickly from that decision. And I won't reccomend the device to any of my friends or family.
